At first I was skeptical about the service and how good a job they could do virtually and without closer interactions. However, it ended up being a good experience. After about 4 or 5 days, the resume writer sent me a completely revamped version of my resume, more concise and better structured. We also had additional back and forth messaging afterwards where the writer made additional changes. My writer was very responsive to my suggestions/requests.

I really thought the resume I had written was excellent, and thought that having a professional service rewrite it was overkill. I was so wrong. They took the bland, overly technical details of my resume and condensed it into something the layperson not only could read, but would be interested in hearing more about. I know that as a technical professional with more than 25 years of experience, getting the value I bring to the table in an easy-to-read format is very important. I need that foot-in-the-door so I can get the interview, and TopResume helps provide that.

I ordered the resume / cover letter combo. The first draft of my new resume contained quite a few formatting and grammatical errors. I contacted Customer Service, and as I understood their response I was not buying a finished product, but the opportunity to collaborate with a writer. Apparently my part of the collaboration was proofreading. I was not offered a full or partial refund, nor the opportunity to work with a different writer. I wonder if Top Resume has grown too fast to maintain their quality of service, as their reviews from several years ago are really excellent.

Mark did a fabulous job reorganizing and pinpointing my skills, accomplishments and experience. We worked together and I am very impressed with his ability to rephrase and put action verbs in my resume!

I had never considered using a resume service but after making little to no progress in my job search, I decided to give TopResume a shot.

And I'm glad I did. My biggest concern with my own resume was language and word choice. I simply was not confident that I was presenting myself as well as I could. My top resume writer quickly remedied that by wording my skills and experience in a much more compelling way while simultaneously making my resume look less cluttered and busy. The efficiency was what impressed me most.

I would recommend TopResume and absolutely use them again.

I wish I'd read these reviews before I paid TopResume. I did NOT get an original re-write of either my cover letter or resume. They refused my refund request, saying someone was already working on my resume. That same day, I got a message from writer saying he'd just got the assignment. The first draft was unacceptable.The cover letter was what you can find on any resume advice website. I also specifically asked for the documents to NOT date me in age. The writer ignored that and actually added my years of experience! He used terms that are NOT used in my field. He also just took my original resume and cover letter, reordered them, added a couple important sounding words, and re-formatted. They also sent me more than one auto-generated email to "check in", which the writer admitted. I now wonder if they just sent my original resume & cover letter through some software to get a different version. Honestly You can do better yourself.

The review process was horrible as all they did was send back my existing resume with a new style applied. Anyone with Word could do that! Upon marking up the document, it was another week before I received any comments and they reset the clock again - sending the exact same document. I responded back stating I had already marked everything up so take the comments and make the edits. Apparently, the editor did not like my comments and when I tried to discuss the fact that this was supposed to be a collaborative process, they stopped responding. As many others have noted - there are no refunds so unless you agree with everything they do, you will receive no service and be out the money.

I rate the service that I received from TopResume as 4.5 stars. The quality of my resume re-write was both excellent and also humbling. It was excellent as in 2 pages my 18 years of professional experience was elegantly captured and I felt proud reading about my achievements. It was humbling as the brevity of my new resume was succinct and my ego which wanted everything listed on a formerly busy and longer resume was held in check. I have already been for three interviews since putting my newly written resume out there. It has been a worthy investment for sure! Only gripe is a technology related one: I use Microsoft Word, my excellent writer uses an Apple operating system. I had to re-space all drafts and the final product which took time. Clients should be given a choice what operating system they prefer that TopResume writers use.

I paid upfront, a reviewer has been assigned after several days and then I got pressured all over the process to meet their deadlines.
They give you only 7-10 days to complete your reviews and pressure you to close

It is clearly also my fault not being 100% on top of this, but i felt very unprofessional being treated this way when they got their money upfront. Just wanted to rush the process, and of course I feel I have not had enough interactions to make fine tunings to the resume
