TopResume

So I had my resume looked at and found that I'm generally 22% of a match of my jobs. I decided to go with TopResume. In 24-48 hours of submitting the forms I had my rough draft that after asking the writer to change something that I though was redundant and the addition of my linkedin profile it was complete. The only reason I do not want to give 5 stars is that I'm not sure if this has made a difference in my searches yet. So far I haven't gotten more responses but I had the final draft on the Friday before a holiday weekend and it's Tuesday afternoon now

I had a resume with several different job titles and geared towards many directions. The TopResume expert took my information and provided me with an easy to read goal oriented resume which any hiring manager could quickly read and determine my qualifications for the job. I also purchased the LinkedIn and phone call. The TopResume expert provided me with easy to build LinkedIn profile and by the time we had our phone call, there was not much to discuss. Great experience! I would recommend TopResume to anyone that wants to get their resume cleaned up and polished for their future job.

After spending my time filling out an extensive questionnaire, the draft sent to me was nothing more than a re-formatting of my original resume that contained none of the information I had provided. I tried to contact them numerous times but was sent a notice that the draft was final. After that, no contact. So I instructed my bank not to release the final payment and immediately I received an aggressive email telling me that I had one week to pay. This company is a joke - do not use them.

My writer, Gretchen, couldn't have been more professional. She worked with me to ensure her revisions were an accurate reflection of who I am as a professional. I questioned many of her suggestions, but she politely explained why she was making those changes. Her patience in working with me should be commended, because I know I tested it.;)

Less than a week after it was finished and my LinkedIn page was revised, I received two contacts from recruiters and one job interview from an application I submitted using the new resume. Thanks to Gretchen's hard work, I think I might find the kind of job I'm looking for.

Terrible - I went for the Executive Package because I really wanted something that would help me stand out both on paper and online. Somehow, they have excellent reviews linked to their website showing them as 5 Stars many of which I read before deciding... but based on my experience this simply can't be true.

All they did was take my existing resume and put it in a nice template. The cover letter was boring and didn't profile my skills at all. I myself was bored after the first and it was ME I was reading about, I can only imagine what a hiring manager would think.

I told them I was not interested in them recreating my LinkedIn profile, and asked that they only charge me for the lower package since I wouldn't be using the rest of their services. They responded within minutes with a form letter type rejection stating "no discounts, no refunds" - apparently they have this written and ready to go for what I can only guess would be a ton of unhappy customer emails.

Extremely disappointed with the service. All they did was copying and pasting my original resume in to a text format. No critical recommendations, no font corrections, no logical sequencing. The final draft provided by them even had repeated sentences. When companied about the poor deliverable they completely ignored my concerns and offered another service. Don't fall for this trap.

I didn't ask for much from TopResume, and I'm satisfied enough with the reword/reformat I got. But afterwards, they offered to pay me to leave positive reviews on various websites including this one. Not a trustworthy company! Don't believe the positive reviews you read about them here, they're fake, paid reviews!

I hadn't redone my resume for 13 years... boy have things changed. Emily H., helped me put everything in order, seamlessly. She heard everything I said and incorporated everything I thought was important as well as added more professionalism and organization. I would definitely recommend TopResume to help with building your resume and cover letter. An added bonus was all of the great articles they have on their website. Hunting for a new job can be scary, but after receiving the final resume and cover letter I had much more confidence. Thank you!

I hired Topresume to redo my resume as I wasn't getting many hits. They offer a review of your resume on Glassdoor and Indeed, which I thought looked promising. After promptly paying my $ 149, I waited about 2 weeks for anything back. I finally received a resume that looked completely ridiculous, and the way the words were placed was almost unreadable. I communicated with my "pro writer" over email (no phone number to contact) and again heard nothing back for a week...
***Update, while I would not use this service or company again and am seeking a better alternative. Emily was able to refund 60% of my funds. I felt this was fair, as I did use a small portion to tweak my own rendition f my resume. I would still suggest finding another company as the writers hear are just not that good.

The team at TopResume exceeded my expectations! They were swift to respond, took all my notes and revisions, and made sure I felt confident with the final deliverables before anything was finalized. It really was a frictionless transaction and I'll definitely use them again for future services.

Actually I did contract the services from TopResume and I am extremely disappointed. First of all, it was almost exactly like my current resume. Except theirs had typos! They also claim to offer a new Linkedin profile. However all they offer is tips and techniques to improve your profile which is already available on-line at no cost. I attempted to voice my concerns but were met simply defending their services with virtually no consideration to make it right. I can not recommend this service and I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere for this service.

Really bad resume service, they have C- rating on BBB its not worth spending money with them. I wish i would have checked BBB before paying them. General words and phrases put together in old fashion format. Stay away from these folks.

I had a great experience working with TopResume. I'm so glad I chose them to work with my resume! April did an amazing job! My resume improved a lot! Also, during the process to gather information for her, I was able to identify achievements that I did and that was very useful for my interviews. I so wish I had done deeper research before paying this company. I had many of the same experiences that others cite. They claim they will match you with a writer from your industry. NOT TRUE. My writer obviously knew nothing about my industry, omitting my experience working for the biggest retailer in the world. The goal I made clear in wanting my resume rewritten was completely ignored - they obviously were not skilled enough to do what I requested. Writer was obviously not a native English speaker. What I received is completely unusable. It appears that the writers are given a crash course in resume formatting and a list of buzz-words. They are in NO WAY professionals. I don't blame the writers - I think they are people who just need a job and are being exploited by the unscrupulous owners of this company.

I sent in my self-written resume and it was, like most, not at all tuned to how the new word-scanning programs needed it to be. The writer assigned to me was at first quite responsive and turned out my first draft is short order. Then, the "happy" feeling started to subside. In several attempts to contact her/him, my emails went without answer. I sent an email to TopResume expressing my concerns, and didn't get a response back until 2 days had passed and the expiration of their agreed-upon finish date was at hand. Finally, I heard from the resume writer, announcing she/he had been sick and was planning to get back on my re-write. After a couple of days, I had my re-write. In those cases where I was promised a finished product, it was a couple days after that before I received anything. Maybe it was just a luck of the draw, but I think, for what I spent to have my resume cleaned up, I could have gotten a little bit better response.

Great service and very impressed with the overall work. Feedback I have been getting from friends and industry contacts have commented how great my new resume is compared to what it was before. The upgraded LinkedIN profile as part of the package I choose was great and keeping in contact with my assigned resume writer was a easy and a pleasure to work with. I have suggested TopResume to all of my close friends and family who are looking to give their career a boost.

I cannot believe how easy it seems to be to ignore people in this day and age. Thanks for the horrible follow up. I was ready to go credit card in hand, I just had 4 questions and needed to speak to someone, I let her know that and that time was of essence and snail responses are what I got. You just confirmed what I've known. Customer service and follow through are dead. I have contacted someone else appt scheduled and all done via email in a 1 hour period, faith restored. Good luck to you, it's clear to me that we don't come first and this is certainly not how I want to start a business relationship.

I had a very positive experience working with Top Resume to update my resume and cover letter. They also provided me with instructions and content to create my LinkedIn profile (rated strong by LinkedIn). They worked with me around a schedule that took me out of town for a week and didn't stop doing revisions until I was satisfied with the final product. Highly recommend!

I did not know what to expect from an online resume writing service but knew I needed a fresh approach. Based on that, I took the next step and bought a resume/cover letter rewrite.

Content-wise, the initial feedback is like any other resume service. However, what distinguished your evaluation was that the initial review included an ATS-screening component. I don't know how applicable your assessment it is because there are several 'flavors' of ATS-screening systems based on the specific industry and seniority level, so have to assume that it could be valid.

I'm trying to switch careers so a strong resume is highly needed. Tommy C took the time to ask for details, point out strengths and new what sort of industries I wanted to get into. He reduced the redundancy in my resume and used much more pro-active phrases to make the resume jump at the hiring personal.

4.5 stars - TopResume has an abundance of data relating job seekers to experience and unique qualifications. Do not expect any kind of advice or feedback relating to where you fit relative to that data. Missed opportunity.

I knew my resume needed to be updated since the last time I put work into it was over 15 years ago. Of course I've had several jobs that I just added on but it did not speak to the professional self. In my head this was going to be a long process. I was wrong, wrong, wrong! It was so easy and quick. I was able to communicate freely with my writer, Gaby.
