I knew that going through a resume writer would be a good idea, but I had no idea the level of confidence that it would give me when applying to positions! I know that I am a qualified and strong candidate, but using TopResume really made me feel like I could prove it before getting in front of an interviewer. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new position.
I order the regular package of resume. The draft was okay presented, but it didn't suit what I was looking for nor my needs. I repeatedly asked (3 times) to enter a skill and convert the very long resume into 1 page vs two pages. I had 3 jobs in the course of 12 years which I feel only one page resume is needed. So, to avoid anymore back and forward and time wasting I accepted the way it is and will polish it my self.
The whole time you are asking questions by email are not being answered on the replies, it seems that this service is being done by someone overseas because the emails will come at very late/random hours of the night and the replies are very generic with the same context on every email. I will recommend you to do your research before acquiring the service.
I paid for the whole package, you know the one that will have your resume back ASAP. I figured out it was a scam when at 24 hours all I got was an email from someone saying they are on it. My resume was a copy and paste from different places, using fancy words but with zero research into what my job is and what would make me stand out, based on my 2 decades of experience in my profession.
The writer's second revision came a week later, right before the 7 days deadline. All she changed on the revision was the file name, it was now called rev2.
Bottom line: Don't buy this service. The customer service is poor, the resumes are written by someone who doesn't research into what they are supposed to be writing and all you get is a bunch of spam offering you more services.
Resume writer entered information that was factually incorrect, formatted the resume incorrectly with typos, ignored 20 of 30 years of my career accomplishments, added bullets not related to position identified. Do not use this service.

I purchased the Executive Priority package - received my first draft of resume on time, and communication with Barbara P. Was pretty fluid for the most part - a few lags here and there, but nothing too big. Writer was a very personable. Tip: Make sure you develop your own content as best as you can before enlisting TopResume for assistance. They do a better job at re-arranging content and formatting. With that said, I am very satisfied with the end-product of my resume! As for Cover Letter and Linkedin profile - these were subpar.
Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes is all you need. I had shopped around at prices and felt TopResume was on the lower end. As far as service they were quick and easy to communicate with. Julianna asked me good questions and worked with the postings that I sent her. I'm very happy with the final result.
I was very excited when I saw the results of the free review - it was apparent that a very experienced person(s) reviewed my resume. As a result, I signed up for the 2 cover letters & resume package. I liked the first draft of the resume but upon closer review, have a lot of misgivings. The writer primarily used the past perfect tense which makes the resume wordy and awkward. Visually, it looks bland and uninteresting. The writer was pleasant but I don't think she had enough experience in my chosen field. The cover letters were fine until I looked more closely and saw the same issues regarding the use of past perfect tense. Maybe I'm wrong and the new resume will generate interviews over the next 60 days, otherwise I will be refunded, per their guarantee.
I have been looking for a job a for over 3 months now and hesitated initially to pay for a revision to my resume. I'm not sure that the first person assigned to my resume spoke English as a first language--she certainly had no command of the language or proper grammar. The resume was merely a list of key words in sentences that made no sense to an actual reader. She had no experience with my industry and was unresponsive to my queries. It's been assigned to a more senior person, but with little in the way of improvement and significant delays.
Honestly best decision I made when I started looking for new jobs. They're knowledgeable, honest, and very responsive. I emailed back and forth with my writer a lot and he was great.
I received about 5 interview requests after applying to jobs within a couple of weeks. Only went on one since I knew it was the company I wanted most and I got the job. If it weren't for TopResume rewriting my resume I don't know if I would have ever gotten recognized by them.

I engaged TopResume to rewrite my resume, LinkedIn profile and cover letter. Right after I engaged them, a storm took out my power for 2 days. They extended my time by 2 days to work on the resume to allow for the power outage without me even asking. My interaction with the writer was excellent. She was professional, friendly and prompt. After a few minor tweaks, I ended up with a very professional looking resume, cover letter and LinkedIn profile. I highly recommend TopResume.
I have to be honest this service is not what I expected. You have zero in site into my career path - none. Everything is very generic with very little originality. I have very little communication going days without any correspondence - then when I call customer service - I wait more days to here that my writer will "work on it this evening" then go days without any further contact.
I would like a refund. I might was well have done this my self. Will never work with your organization again. Please refund my money or failing that I'll contact my credit card company and place a stop payment on it. Very poor service. All sales and zero substance.

First off the writer did not seem to know anything about creating a linkedin page.
Basically took my resume and sent it back as is. Then told me to copy and paste in my linkedin profile. I objected and stated I wanted different than my resume... the whole point of hiring their services.
I was then sent the same text with very little and subtle changes. And now no recourse as contract states only 1 change/review of original text is allowed.
Complete waste of money...
I do not recommend!

My experience with TopResume was really good. I came across their page through Monster.com and I always wanted to have my resume professionally re-written, but I decided against it due to money. Resume writing has drastically changed. Simple resume writing is not what it use to be so I decided to bite the bullet and give TopResume a try. My resume write name was Jodi and she was really nice. She communicated with me all the way through.
When I first looked at the results I said, "I could have done this". My wife's response was "well then why haven't you". She was right now matter how long I work on a rewrite it never looked as professional as what TopResume put together for me. I got the package that included the resume, a cover letter and changes to my linkedin page. The three are now in sync and I've received more call backs that I had with my old format.
I would recommend getting a professional to rewrite your resume because they aren't as emotional about it... and I would use TopResume again.
Waste of money. Angela W. Doesn't know how to write a resume for a graphic designer. I sent her links to jobs I wanted to apply for along with my portfolio, that's 99% comprised of projects I've done for my current employer. I let her know with every revision, that I wasn't happy. She would reply with a couple of changes within 5-10 minutes. Obviously not putting any thought into the changes. I choose this resume writing companies because they were highly rated, maybe for other careers, but not designers. That's $349 poorly spent.

I was surprised to see how quickly Batul responded and delivered on my request, subsequent questions and the final product. I would recommend having more phone engagements to help with sharing the perspective that comes from verbal interaction vs written.
Needed an immediate revision to both my resume and cover letter due to career change. I found TopResume and sent my resume to be evaluated. I am unemployed at the moment so I was glad to receive an email for a 35% discount for both CL and Resume revisions. My resume writer was a great communicator and followed up often when I had questions. It took 4 days to get the finished product and I was satisfied. Hopefully this will end my call back drought and will have new employment very soon.
