Don't take their Executive package not worth for the money. Copying resume content to Linkedln profile.

Top Resume fails to mention they will cut your resume down to 2 1/2 pages. They also removed the months I worked, which looks good, but hiring companies require that. All that was done was essentially reformatting the resume.

They did write my resume. I will grant them that. However, I feel very much like they have a script they stick with and my phone call was less than helpful. Every time I asked a specific question, they responded with a general answer that gave me absolutely no clarity. For the price I paid, I would have expected much more assistance with my specific concerns, and far less jargon and babbling.

The first go around was super fast… too fast. It read like a resume and was bare in all aspects.

The second time is much better and it is currently being finalized however, I had to call 3 times before someone actually matched me to a new author. They did take my comments and layout into account but I'm glad that I am not actively looking for a job, or I would be out of work for over a month without evening being able to provide a CV.

I also think that 7 days may be too fast to complete a thorough cv when you are starting from scratch due to the research and conflicting schedules with a writer. Sometimes it may work but other times, not so much.

My experience was not what I expected. I felt rushed to provide feedback to what I considered to be an rushed and incomplete resume draft. Even after the final version was sent to me, no thank you was sent to let me know that this was the final version and what would happen next. I also purchased the LinkedIn update service and have not heard from anyone on this yet, as well my LinkedIn profile has not been updated to this date.

Not a good experience for me. Certainly, not what I expected.

I found this service to be an absolute waste of money. I was expecting a re-write and modernized version of the baseline documents I provided. I was shocked when I received a downgraded resume and throw away cover letter for $200. When I expressed my frustrations to customer service I received a generic response. Do yourself a favor and spend an hour with a standard resume template and buy yourself a steak dinner with the remainder.

I was assigned a writer that is supposedly familiar with my industry (Telekom). It quickly became obvious that he was not. He took my original resume, changed a few words here and there, and that was it. It was clear that my writer put in no effort. I even paid for a professionally written LinkedIn profile, and I was again sorely disappointed. All the writer did was copy & paste my resume, with no changes whatsoever. On top of everything the resume and LinkedIn profile had spelling and grammatical errors which I had to correct.

Don't waste your money. TopResume is utter and complete garbage.

I was looking to update my resume and found the free resume review with Top Resume. I've been in the workforce for over 20 years and was targeting a senior level position and wanted to upgrade my resume. The review feedback said my resume scored poorly with the automatic scan many companies are using that would limit it getting to an actual person to review. I paid for the service and my first draft seemed like the person was forcing in big words that didn't make sense in the context of the sentence. I requested a new resume writer be assigned and they did. The 2nd person was a little better and completed the resume. To test the results, I changed my name, email, and company names and resubmitted for the free evaluation. Their resume scored as low as my original and the review was very critical. Attached are the reviews from both versions that didn't rate high in their system. Regardless of the final results, I signed up for the service based on their assessment, which seems to be the same negative points regardless of who wrote it. Also, you are supposed to be paired with someone who knows your industry. Some of the corrections I had to make clearly showed they didn't know my industry and/or just weren't good at writing resumes. For these reasons I rate this low and advise people to stay away.

Overall my experience with Top Resume was alright. My resume writer was friendly and accomodating, it took several revisions including a few errors where the update draft feedback was misinterpreted or overlooked, and the first revision came back after 3 business days leaving just 1 day in the 7 day due date, yet they accommodated that and eventually corrected the items needing correction. My main feedback to the company is for the price, I was told the resume style needed to be very plain to get through ATS applicant tracking systems, yet I believe for the price paid it should include an additional more graphic oriented resume as another option the owner can present as needed.
