TopResume exceeded my expectations. Each writer was extremely professional. It started first with the critiquing of my resume I had for a few years. I didn't understand why I would only get phone calls or job offers for sales positions. I decided to take a chance and allow them to critique my resume. After getting feedback from TopResume, I was pleasantly surprised at the feedback I got. I was getting sales phone calls because of the wording of my resume. Poor service... I am happy that I didn't pay for one of that expensive packages. Becasue they did a bad resume for me. It seems that not a native speaker worked on it.

I had a lot of experience, but couldn't figure out how to translate that into a resume. They really gave me a resume that says who I am and what I can do.

Do your research. Go to the library and checkout books on resume writing. Do not waste your money using Top Resume services. They plagiarized my resume from a book I found at the library. What was put on my resume did not reflect my skills/who I really was. Instead of using a cloud based service like Google Docs to collaborate, they sent documents via email that I couldn't open, which wasted the time they give you to make changes to the resume/cover letter. DO NOT USE TOP RESUME! TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

I previously sent my resume a few years ago, however, didn't engage with their services at that time. Since then, I had several important careers and advanced degrees and wasn't sure how to highlight them on my resume nor convey them in a cover letter. TopResume ran my resume through the ATS system and boy, the results were difficult to digest! My resume didn't reflect who I was as a candidate and it didn't accurately reflect my career goals. I chose the cover letter and resume package and when I saw the first draft, I was completely blown away! It captured everything that I wanted and more. There was a minor issue. The assigned writer unexpectedly couldn't complete the work product and it was about a week before they contacted me to assign a new writer. TopResume offered a free service to correct the situation and I was very pleased with both the work product and the free service. I have since applied to six positions and received invitations for an interviews for each of them! Great quality of work and highly recommend! Couldn't be happier!

STAY AWAY FROM TopResume, it is a total scam; don't waste your time and $$ on it. I bought the resume and LinkedIn profile "top" writer package with rush service. The writer, Jessica, did the 1st draft but did not know much about my field (Product Management). I suggested keeping some terms but asked her to polish them. The resume came back with the exact words I wrote in the email. It seems like she just copied whatever I said to finish the job. After a couple of rounds, I gave up and decided to wait for my LinkedIn Profile. I waited and waited until the last day, and she sent it over to me with an exact copy of my resume with only a slightly different format! Without even giving me time to respond, she closed the job. I also bought other services, but with such a lousy resume that I can't send it out without working with another writer further. I am still in dispute to get my $ back through, but it was tough.

Update on 1/2/2024
After numerous emails explaining the situation, their customer service rep refused my request for a refund:
1. I paid $75 for rush service, but they refused to refund me because the resume "was delivered in 7 days". Even though I repeatedly told them that the resume/LinkedIn is not considered complete since there are still pending requests from me for editing.
2. They refused to refund the add-on services of $150 including posting service. Based on the fact that the resumes were not good quality and I couldn't send them out. They did not care!
3. They said LinkedIn was supposed to be similar to Resume. If they consider a word-by-word copy of a resume as quality work for a LinkedIn profile, I would like to know if they have the expertise to write/edit resumes for others.

I needed to update my resume and just didn't want to do it. TopResime did a great job and I received exactly want I wanted within a few days. I also got a very well-written cover letter.

When signing up for Topresume, I was doing so based off of my brother's experience which described as really great and super fast. I am graduating college soon and I thought this service would be good for me. Initially, it took the topresume twice as long as stated to match me to a writer, it said 4-5 five days, it took over a week in my case, which was frustrating, but the deadline for me to get my resume draft stayed the same, so I wasn't too bothered. Until the day to get my resume draft came, and I got nothing, I messaged my writer who said that I would be getting my draft the next day, which I did not. I got my draft the following day and made edits with the writer over the phone, every edit I mentioned she countered me with "this is how we do this here." She promised that I would get the revised version that night or the next day. I didnt get it for two more days. I found the entire experience frustrating and when I tried to contact support the basically said sorry thats not up to our standards, and that was it.

They were all about selling, constantly reaching out to finalize a sale. I ended up purchasing a quick 48 hour turnaround package that I was upsold. As soon as I did the constant contact ceased and days kept going by with no action. A week later when my resume still had no action it was really hard to get them to agree for a refund. When I tried to reach out for a refund because they never even started my resume they kept trying to offer me a free letter if I'd wait longer. I wanted a refund since they couldn't deliver; I don't want another free service when they couldn't even deliver on my initial purchase. After 9 attempt to get a refund (I even had tried to contact Monster who is promoting this service) I finally connected with a resume writer who actioned it. Posting on their Facebook page also helped, without making my story public they didn't seem to be responsive. Now I know why they don't publicize the review feature on Facebook! The initial refund they gave me was minimal compared to what I paid, but after more follow up I did get a full refund. I wouldn't recommend Top Resume to anyone.

They help with pointing out specific key words and skill that you didn't know you had

I did the instant resume review and agreed with the issues my resume had. Decided to give it a shot for resume and cover letter. It took longer than expected (more than a week) to receive my first draft hence the star I took off in the rating. I was very happy with the writer, Jessica. She was very attentive and always responded to my emails. She was knowledgeable and friendly. I did not spot any typos in the drafts. I was very concerned that from 3 pages of resume we were down to 1 and a half but Jessica explained that we are to get the attention of the hiring manager and then during an interview I will go into depth of each position. We only changed a few things and I was ready to go. I am currently looking for a job in New Orleans in the field of Logistics and Transportation. As of now I have not gotten any offers, not even a phone interview but its very hard for me to say that its the resume fault.

Overall I am happy with the service, of course time will tell how long it will take me to find something.

I paid the fee for a resume and a cover letter. The resume and cover letter technician emailed asking several questions that I was able to provide complete information. However the first draft of both the resume and cover letter was not close to what I felt was what I could present to a potential employer and didnt provide a complete positive view for what my total experience was. I was very disappointed. However, I emailed them with my disappointment and included my view for what I felt was not clearly and positively explanatory to a potential employer and they assigned a new technician. This person took a bit of time emailed some questions to me for which I provided answers to and come up with a different resume that was Exactly and Precisely what I felt was a complete and positive view of my total employment experience [in a very positive light]. I feel with communication, a TopResume technician can understand a persons particularity for what they feel their customer wants and needs to complete their goal for top employment.
