They claim that it's only $19.95 for daily rental...yet they include.59 per mile AND on top of that, they charge you if you exceed the mileage you anticipated, AND they make you replace the gas in the vehicle! This didn't used to be their policy a few years ago. I will not use them again!
I have never been more disgusted with a company. I booked a vehicle about 3 weeks in advance. I was called 2 days before moving day to tell me it was not available. No apologies nothing. I tried again because their website said reservation guaranteed. It was not guaranteed. They let me book but then called to tell me they had nothing available. So why allow people to book? Horrible, disgusting customer service. People are stressed with trying to move and this is the kind of crap they get from this company. I will never use this company and will make sure no one else does either. Completely unreliable and unapologetic.
They changed the pick up location the day before the scheduled pickup. Changed it to a location an hour away from Vancouver. When we went to pick it up there was no truck for us. They are disorganized and a complete waste of money and time. Hopefully someone creates some competition for them because I will not be working with them again.
I am extremely disappointed with U haul as a whole. I had a reservation for a 26' truck that I made days prior only to get there and they tell me they don't have a 26', 20', 17', 15'. My reservation was after my work hour so I literally had less than 15 minutes to try to go to another location that still didn't have the truck size I needed. I get to the location at 2818 Fairburn rd. Only to encounter the most Rude and unprofessional person ever! Her mouth was so smart and the lack of care I received unimaginable. Now I have a 15' that I'll have to make multiple trips and spend twice the money because no one took the time out to check reservations and account for trucks needed. Poor Service U-Haul
I am moving out of state and have paid for a load a delivery service and I keep getting texts about where to pick up equipment. I have spent the last 3 days trying to talk with a live person, on hold for hours at a time. Still not even close to getting any answers. I'm literally scheduled to fly out in the next few days still with no resolution. I am beyond livid!
My neighbor rented a trailer which Luna from the Saco u haul did not attach right. It almost came off in traffick which could of caused an accident which could of hurt many innocent people. I went in a few days after brewing on the incident to see her still working! How can the manager sleep at night knowing they are keeping a possible killer employed?!? I urge anyone with any human decency to do business elsewhere as long as she is allowed to keep her job. This could be your children or parents or neighbors next time.
Charley Miller Is an $#*! and should be fired. He treated me with disrespect and as if I was out to get a payday when we have lost all of our stuff because uhauls previous renter put $#*! roaches in their truck. He needs fired now!
Word to the wise: when they ask you how long you need the truck for, if you're wrong, and you bring it back later than you said, U-Haul will hit you with a second day charge. They don't tell you that, and okay, it's in the small print, where it says they "may" hit you with a fee, but when you rent a truck, Always tell them you need it for a full 24 hours. Losers!
I ordered boxes online and even though my delivery arrived in two days, some boxes were missing. Trying to get this small issue resolved was a horrible experience. I got the runaround so many times each office telling me to contact somebody else. If they couldn't resolve a simple issue there's no way I will trust them for a larger rental.
It's a prerequisite to be really terrible at customer service if you want to work at uhaul in Utah. I recommend doing everything humanly possible to find another company to rent from before settling for this pile of $#*!. The company is obviously owned and operated by $#*!s. God only knows how they're still in business.
They canceled my 2 week old reservation for a cross country move less than 24 hours before my pick-up time. They blamed it on the website not knowing available inventory. They also admitted to having several reservations that are months old being canceled as well. Avoid at all costs.
I have never written a bad review of anything in my life, despite some mediocre experiences. However, the misery of the Uhaul experience cannot go unwritten. I write this review truly in hopes of saving any other person who is considering U-boxes for a move. They charged me storage fees for 2 months despite my boxes only being in storage for 2 weeks, they then failed to book movers for me (after sitting on hold for about 6 hours total throughout the process) after assuring me they had, and then charged me TWICE for the self-delivery and moving help. Their customer service is nonexistent, and to put it simply, they just don't care about their customers. Period. Even if this service was completely free, it would not have been worth the hassle. Next time I move, I'll just sell all my stuff rather than using them. Please let me save you. Do not use Uhaul.
Over the course of two weeks, U-Haul cancelled 3 of our truck reservations at the last minute. In one case, we drove 100 miles roundtrip to pick up a truck only to find out it wasn't there upon arrival. No one called, and no one picked up the phone at the business when we tried calling. Now they want me to drive 60 miles roundtrip to pick up another truck this weekend (the original reservation was within walking distance of my house.) The business is terrible.
When you get someone on the phone at corporate, they are all very friendly, if under-informed.
If I could sue this company, I would.
My order magically was changed and then cancelled. No one can figure it out and their way of accommodating is to have you drive further. I've been told I was wrong, I was told that they were trying to help. First there wasn't a truck available and then there is an available truck. Very quick to hang up on me. As a customer being screwed over, I'm allowed to be upset but according to the guy/ manager, he was being helpful. I'd suggest going to a different company. I've spent thousands of dollars with Uhaul over the last 5 years and I'm appalled by how we've been treated. I will be finding legal help because if anyone can access and change my reservation then they have access of my debit card and that's scary. Pathetic to treat customers that way. Shame on Uhaul.
Purchased a trailer hitch on-line / with installation included. Made an appointment at a convenent time and date of my choosing for install. Upon arriving was met by polite employee. Clean waiting area. Install was very quick and professional. This is how a good business should be run. Thank you.
Isaias was such a great customer service rep on helping us navigate a long distance move across the state of Washington. He added extra allowed miles since we couldn't do the mountain passes for our one way rental in the middle of December.
Rented a car trailer for 10 days with insurance. Truck broke down 3 days into the trip. Asked Uhaul to credit me for 7 days not used after I dropped off the trailer. They refused and stole $700 from my card. Cooperate representative name is Ashley out of Eugene, Oregon. Five four 1-seven four 4- four four 8 zero is the contact number. Total obnoxious, arrogant woman.
Reserved a car Hauler for Vancouver to Victoria, straps were tangled knotted and unusable, had to ask twice and wait for repairs. Only needed a one day rental, their system said it had to be 2 days. I returned trailer within 24 hours, still charged 2 days, no one in customer service could fix or resolve this. Very dissatisfied. Cash grab. Should be based on actual usage.
First off the guy in there his customer service is trash he tossed the keys onto the counter in front of me like I was at a wrecking yard. That was the pick up. Upon returning the next day he was very condescending in his tone and it was not even noon yet. I've never met him before but he treated me like I did something to him. I will not be recommending this place to any of my friends and family especially the black ones. Definitely a racist prick. Bad for business. His wife was friendly though. She needs to put her dog on a leash and teach him some manners. This is the location on elms rd Killeen tx. Ameri storage.
Coordinating a move is incredibly challenging and I carefully chose a pickup and drop off location for a reason, giving Uhaul plenty of time to prepare. Uhaul promised to have one available at my chosen location for me to pickup. Uhaul changed my reservation without my consent on the day before scheduled pickup. Uhaul is an incredible disappointment. They also won't allow you to review your experience with them if your reservation is cancelled. Even if THEY cancelled it.

Answer: From my experience I've noticed uhaul only allows you to review the pickup and dropped location and generally where I am at least, those folks are great and helpful. The huge conglomerate running the show is at fault but there seems to be no way to easily review them specifically. They screwed me too and I wondered the same. Maybe some folks had a positive experience but I believe you are correct. Negative reviews are definitely being screened out. Sorry you had a crappy move too.
Answer: I did a complaint online and then called but with the same result, they couldn't find me in their system. I need to wait 24 to 72 hours for the manager to investigate.
