Tried for three consecutive weeks to rent a large truck to execute our 80 mile move. It was just one lame $#*! excuse after another. Not enough trucks available! Then had one reserved and they rented it, but they did offer a smaller van.-- RIGHT! Next weekend we had one reserved again and just as we were pilling up to pick up the truck they let us know again that it was rented and said we could drive 60 miles father away and pick up another one from a different location nothing but BS. I would not rent another truck from them to haul horse $#*! to a landfill!
100% disappointed! Reserved a truck June 5th and was supposed to leave july 1st and now I'm I was told that their isn't anything available to move out of state!
No one that I talked to over the last several days never mentioned to me that the cargo trailer isn't available in my area!
Finally got a call back from scheduling and at least Alina was helpful, she kept her word and actually called me back several times to make things right, but I'm still very disappointed in uhaul, customer service Conner should not be helping customers very rude,
Dangerous car trailers not fit for purpose!Dangerous Trailers Don't Hire! Picked up car trailer and brakes hardly work and this is apparently normal according to them. I was going to take back but picked up right on closing time. After driving about 20 minutes then brakes locked on and wouldn't release and I got stranded for hours! No refund either! Even the guys working there said they are dangerous and wouldn't hire themselves even though they get for free. It's only a matter of time before someone gets hurt or killed from these trailers. They shouldn't be allowed on the road
Rented a moving pod. Struck with it days after the contract was over.
The space was previously rented out to paying guests at our air bnbs.
Was told after 4 days of calling that the trick was broken. Hope to get there by Sunday!
So now my guests have to tandem park. We are paying for parking for our cat. Apparently uhaul doesn't care about small businesses or guest service.
So my future crap reviews due to parking inconveniences will be paid by who? Uhaul? I doubt it. Likely just end up making my children go without.
You'll be getting a bill for me parking at the beach. And my loss of income. And the inconvenience.
No one knows anything. Online Services are a joke. We had reservations but had to pick up 16 miles out of our way the day before. Only to realize we had to return the next day which wasn't our plan. Customer Service agents work from home, kids screaming and people talking in the background. Unprofessional inner city agents with very bad attitudes on the phone. Good Luck if you plan to use this company.
U-Haul typically has no customer parking. No signs to direct customers to the proper parking area. Often you will be interrupted in the transaction to go move your vehicle. Long waits in line. Slow service. Sometimes no one is at the counter. No respect for the customer. "Move your car or go somewhere else!". Inadequate customer service when you call. I do not recommend using this company.
Plain and simple, I will never use them again. I reserved a moving truck about 2 weeks in advance of my move. I was contacted two times prior to my move by U-Haul to make changes in my reservation because of problems on their side. The morning I arrive to pick up my truck I find out that they do not have a truck ready for me as promised and no one ever called me to tell me. So I call them and get the runaround again. No solution given and they wanted me to drive over an hour away to get a truck that was smaller than what I needed. Not what I needed on the morning of my scheduled move, very unprofessional.
My local independent U-Haul dealer is fine but the corporate location near me is terrible. Customer service is rude and. Incompetent. Service is provided on a take-it-or-leave-it basis. Use these people only if you have a good local dealer!
I returned the truck 6:05, give minutes after they closed, and the person was still in there and told me to drop the keys in a box. I didn't hear anything about checking in on their website and next day I got charged double. I used the truck for 8 hours and got charged for 2 days.
I rented a moving truck with a guarantee from the U-Haul moving center on Mannheim Pike in Lancaster, PA October 3,2020. When I arrived there was not truck available and no apology. Also they offered no alternative. I was left with a house full of packed goods and no way to move them. They also refused to pay the $50.00 guarantee promised if the equipment was not available. Unreliable, dishonest and a good company to stay away from.
I was lied to at the Rio Rancho, NM U-Haul. I am relocating and asked if my vehicle could tow a small trailer. They told me yes (2021 Toyota Corolla). I also specifically asked them how many pounds of personal items can I put in the Trailer - JUST personal items. I was told 900 pounds. I asked the same question numerous times to be sure I could put 900 pounds in the trailer. Well they flat out lied to me. After I paid $526.20 to put a hitch on my vehicle I found out I can only put 400 pounds in the trailer. This isn't enough and now days before I'm supposed to leave and out over $500 I have to find alternative methods to move. I would NOT use this facility every again. They are liars and just want your money
Never, ever, ever, rent UHaul moving blankets to use with your truck. I got a package that was wrapped in plastic so they seemed like they might have been cleaned - WRONG! These blankets stunk like a filthy dog kennel! The smell was so vile it stuck to other things in my truck. It's truly like some dog rescue used them as a bed to transport shelter dogs across the country or something and UHaul just wrapped them in plastic without washing them and gave them to unsuspecting customers to use. Now I'm worried I may have transferred flea eggs to my stuff. GROSS! Why can't anything or anyone be reasonably clean anymore?
The location staff was absolutely rude and we're only concerned with closing for day. The trailer we rented had a balled tire and I told the lady that was handling our rental that I was going very far and this trailer was unsafe. She refused to give us an alternative trailer so I disputed the damage during the walk around. The tire ends up exploding while we were driving and almost flipped my vehicle with my family inside. Do not go to UHAUL on Bissonnet they are rude and staff could care less about your safety. They didn't even deserve 1 star
I rented 15' truck. Supposed to get 10 mpg.
I drove flat roads with extremely light load.
They claimed it was 5/8 full at pickup. No.
Whoever read the gauge made a mistake. It was a hair over half. I put $20 in less than mile from U-Haul. 4.6 gallons.
They stated I drove 45 miles. They charged me $25 for 4 gallons. 4.6 plus 4 equal 8.6 gallons. It calculated out to 5 mpg. Their websites say this truck gets 10 mpg.
So, they had to misread the gauge. Figures don't lie. I know what 5/8 full looks likes on a gas gauge. It was not 5/8. The agent was flippant about it. I was pissed. You might as well call me a liar. I don't even give a $#*! about the money, but don't think I'm an idiot or a cheating liar. If you rent from them you better read all the fine print. God, I hope all U-Haul outlets aren't like this one. Horrible experience.
I rent one trailer and this company charge me the deposit, I will return the trailer have one week. And any notice about my money. The chat doesn't work, call you need pass the day waiting to answer. ( probably a lot complains) horrible service. I don't recommend.
I recently rented the uhaul for 7 days + 700 miles. For the$330 I ended up using it for 1 day and couple hours Theses cheats made their own contract with out notice. And charged me. When on the vans and all rentals say.$19.99 per day. What a joke false advertising. They charged me $126.61. Per day When my 7 day and 700 miles. Is only $330 in total. These UHAUL S are ripping people off. Just like any other car and truck rentals. My rental was 2 days and over 18 miles 19.99x 2. Days. And 0.39 per miles x 18. That's less the $65. With taxes. But they could not explain why I was charged $253. For 2 days. It's doesn't take a genius to figure out. That they are a fraudulent company.
Me and my husband has rented many uhal trucks, van, trailers in the past but the last two we rented was a nightmare.
Our truck broke down out of town with a trailer and when I called to see if I could drop off the trailer at a closer location, We was told NO to go rent a truck to bring back their trailer to the same location we got it from. After this experience, we will be taking our business to another company including our 4 storage units that we pay $1000.+ every three months!
I've held a reserved /confirmed rental for a pickup truck rental at this location, near my home, three times in less than three years.
Each time I've arrived exactly on time, but no truck was available, although... some larger truck was.
Each time, I was also told they might be able to find a pickup truck at a different U-haul location.
Its obvious that the U-haul method (in Nashville at least) is to get you to come to a location and just work something (whatever) out.
So, third time is the charm.
I'll never return to any U-Haul. There are other options.
My time is valuable to me, even if it means nothing to them.
This company treated me like a criminal instead of a paying customer. I was threatened, talked down to and every interaction was with someone rude. The trucks are outdated and unsafe and the place I had to pick up/drop off was extremely busy and this big truck was parked in a small spot behind the building. They don't care. Never again will I use UHaul and I'll make sure none of my friends or family do either.
Unfortunately, we went to pick up a U-HAUL in Thornhill to go one way to Hamilton and the pick-up location had been switched. We were not sufficiently told that the location has been changed. The new location was 30 km away and we were on bikes (unable to get there). We spent an hour and a half on the phone in the rain where many of the calls were dropped. We are very disappointed with U-HAULS online booking system, phone line/customer service and unclear communication.
Answer: Thought it would be cheaper but worst experience ever and they stole lots of $ from me.
Answer: UHAUL IS CHEATING PEOPLE OUT OF THERE MONEY. OVER CHARGES BY CHEATING YOU. There equipment clearly stated rent me $19.99per day. Not $109. Or $126.61. Per day.
Answer: Scammy. Just try leaving a negative review for uhaul itself (not the little mom n pop pickup/dropouts the big company responsible for the bull)...it's impossible
Answer: From my experience I've noticed uhaul only allows you to review the pickup and dropped location and generally where I am at least, those folks are great and helpful. The huge conglomerate running the show is at fault but there seems to be no way to easily review them specifically. They screwed me too and I wondered the same. Maybe some folks had a positive experience but I believe you are correct. Negative reviews are definitely being screened out. Sorry you had a crappy move too.
Answer: I did a complaint online and then called but with the same result, they couldn't find me in their system. I need to wait 24 to 72 hours for the manager to investigate.
