Bank of America close my account with my you promise points for no reason. Which totally ruined my credit score because it was my longest standing account over 17 years. Not only did they say they can't continue the account I would have to open another one which still would ruin my score. But when this happened with other cards they reinstated it right away. So I don't know what the problem is with this company. And then I finally get my Upromise money, And just found out that the check bounced in my account and was charged another fee on top of that! Don't get messed up with these people!
We started a Upromise account when my oldest was around 2. He is 19 now. Many family members joined and directed their earnings to my Son who is now 19. He started College this Fall and I wanted to see what 17 years of using the program would provide. They simply said they could not find my account. Thats IT! Sorry Dude, the 17 years you and your Family made contributions and interest just went Poof. No Account, no help. It would make a really interesting 60 Minute investigation though. Hmmm?
As far as I can tell UPromise is pretty solid really. I read some of these posts and I just didn't understand the negativity? I have a linked 529 account and it has worked well I think. I will say they did cut what they were rewarding in 18, but these companies got to do something to stay profitable I guess? I really don't have too much negative, it does take a while to get money posted to account and sometimes I wonder if there is a catch later down the road? But right now seems good.
As a result of my initial negative review (1 star), I got a response from management and later their customer service department. The problem has been rectified, and my rewards now post seamlessly to a checking account. I still give them only 4 stars because I initially was given short shrift by their customer service department and could not get to talk to a human.
Worse customer service EVER. I am not getting my Upromise Rewards. You buy stuff. You think you are going to get rewards. Rewards never materialize either on your student loans you've designated them to; to your Barclay's Card you've designated them to. It doesn't matter. Your REWARDS can be viewed in pretty charts on the Upromise website, but you can never claim them. Reminds me of an Eagle's song lyric. "You can check out any time you want, but you can never leave." The Upromise site and the Barclay's card site just bop you back and forth, but you get no info from either one. You will, I repeat, never get to talk to a human with this site and you won't get any rewards. At least, I didn't get any.
I made seven purchases in December and only one paid the cash back. I spent hours documenting the orders with upromise customer service with only and automated response. This site as turned into a scam. They have NO customer service.
Upromise is a great way to get rewarded for your shopping. It gives you a % of what you spend back and has several retailers that participate. You can also link bonus cards from your local grocer or pharmacy. I have already received over $100 and I really don't do a lot of online shopping... you can also do surveys to earn money for free.
I have been a member of Upromise since August 2006. My credit cards are registered with them, as well as my grocery cards. The majority of my shopping for non-food items is online. I always check Upromise before making a purchase. I have only earned a little more than $200 in the past eight years. I would say that at least 50 percent of the time I do not receive credit for my purchases. Somehow there is no record of me accessing partner sites through Upromise.
Horrible experience. Purchased close to $1000 though Upromise in December through multiple stores. Only one cash back was paid. Had to spend much time emailing and sending proof of purchase receipts. Still no cash back. This is not the first time I've had to do this with them. There are too many other cash back sites that payout in a reliable manner. This company is close to a scam. Do Not Use.
I have been having problems with Upromise. First, they stated that they would contribute $25.00 when you refer someone. I referred a few people, and I never got any credit. Secondly, we had several accounts with my mother in law (94 years old) and my parents (both in their 80's). They closed accounts and kept money because I couldn't produce affidavits or the like from the elderly, who are challenged at their age. Looks like they don't care. When you ask questions, in my opinion, they are rude. Not worth it I believe. Save money on some other sites where you can really build up a reserve.
This card has terrible customer service and if I could have given them ZERO stars I would have.
They no longer offer purchase protection nor do they have any managers available to discuss issues!
I have never not paid my balance and were a customer with them for over 20 years!
Never again!
Answer: Legit company just don't expect much. You need to earn $50 in rewards to redeem anything and that can take a long time.
Answer: They're very minimal. I wouldn't say corrupt but the premise sells itself and the support is nonexistent.
