This company does not typically respond to reviews
I used viagogo to purchase tickets without reading any reviews. I then read the reviews here and became very anxious. The e tickets came through but were in Row S instead of Row R as I had ordered. I wasn't worried about being one row behind but the discrepancy worried me in case it was a sign of the tickets being dodgy. I used Live Chat a few times and they were really friendly and reassuring. I was still nervous when I got to the venue but only because of all the negative reviews I had read. As it happened, we sailed through the gates and happily took our seats in Row S.
Not only did I not receive the tickets I purchased, but customer service was not help at all. Live chat is the only option and on several occasions had to wait over 30 minutes for an operator. I was at the event trying to get things straightened out and was told I would receive an email listing replacement options and it never came. I finally the day after got them to agree to a refund, but surprise, surprise it will take 10 business days
How can tickets on Viagogo be 10x the price then on the actual events website. TOTAL SCAM! I paid 170 usd a ticket for seats that are sold for 27 usd.
And the company just says 'oh well' all sales are final. No control of pricing on their site and no transparency. Makes me so angry to take advantage of people like that.
Booked for a local production of Mama Mia in Nelson NZ and was charged $326.83 for two tickets that were selling elswhere for $49 each. The seats they gave us were about the worst seats in the house.
Although I have no evidence of this, I am sure the charge to my account was something over $100 more than the screen showed during the booking process.
The booking process made it appear that I had just seconds to avoid missing out and this distracted me from what was going on with the charges.
On arriving at the theatre 2 days later I found plenty of spare seats and they kindly allocated us better seats.
Communication with Viagogo is next to impossible. So far all emails have bounced.
This is definitely a service to avoid.
I bought 2 tickets to see Queen, weeks ago, and just received this email: "We are very sorry to inform you that your seller was not able to provide your tickets as originally ordered. Therefore your transaction has been cancelled and you will be refunded the full purchase amount of $306.43.
We will refund your order back to the same payment method you originally used to purchase the tickets. Please allow for up to 10 days to receive the money back to your account."
This show is likely sold out now, and because if Vigogo, my girl and I will probably not get to see the show. If this is the Viagogo business model, they are sure to fail.
Thieves, crooks, cheats and liars. What more can I say. Purchased 2 tickets to Celine Dion in Auckland and they charged my credit card for 4 tickets. I asked them to sell the other two, which they did but refused to refund the money. Said "Viagogo does not refund tickets." When I got to the concert after booking a hotel and travelling 250 miles by car, found that the tickets were fake. No entry allowed. Again "Viagogo does not refund tickets." They even tried to charge my credit card again for selling the two tickets but by then I'd stopped my card. Stay well away from this crowd.
Customer Service is not in their vocabulary. My concert was canceled due to COVID, and rescheduled to September. Viagogo was notified, but they never sent me notification. I called venue to get more information. They said they would send me tickets for new date, but the person whose name is on ticket will have to approve. LOL.
I too got stung for their huge booking fee they did refund a portion when I complained. The worst is yet to come. We went to Cindy Lauper and Blondie concert in Auckland NZ to find out tickets were not were we understood them to be from their description and were the worst position in the complex at the very back - even my glasses could not decipher much image and the sound was muffled. Would never use them again. Watch out! If this is were you buy your tickets.
So they state there the biggest! Yes they are the biggest crooks around, please don't waste your hard earned money buying from these modern day crooks. Bought 2 tickets for Cirque Du Soleil website cost £150 per ticket plus booking fee came to a total of £309 when the tickets arrived they had a face value of £47.50! It doesn't state anywhere on their website the original cost and how much more your likely to pay. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! Customer support is a joke and they either don't reply or skirt around the real issue..
Purchased tickets for Byron Bay BluesFest. Refused entry - and there were apparently hundreds of others who did the same and were denied entry. I think this is a scam website yet they look so legit. I am going to the press and will work with my bank to get reimbursed.
This company over charges you on sporting tickets. I purchased two soccer tickets, each costing $120.00 euros, however, when I received the tickets the actual cost printed on the ticket was for $17.00 euros. They also promised to provide you with printed tickets as you can keep as souvenirs, however I received a printed out email ticket on an 81/2 x 11 piece of paper. There was nothing special about these printed tickets. I definitely over paid to attend a soccer game. You are better off going through the actual venue themselves. They are more honest and do not over charge you.
They will promise you tickets, take your money - as much as they can - and then not give you what you paid for. I paid for my ticket and received nothing, and could not attend the event.
Pathetic. Not even a phone number on their website.
Still waiting on some customer service to organise a refund. Won't hold my breath.
I will never ever buy tickets from Viagogo again. Don't use them. I was so keen to buy 4 tickets for Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott in Hull on 3rd June 2017, I clicked on the first Google link, and didn't do my research. Total price £251.70 Ticket value total (issued by Ticketmaster BTW... I should have gone direct) = £114
Paid nearly double the ticket price for four tickets to Book of Mormon at the Lyric theatre in Sydney, and I still don't know if the tickets will work on the night. They are in the name of Eduard Krukov. A quick search of the internet has me convinced he is a Russian criminal. Now have read many horror stories about Viagogo on the internet. Why is this site allowed to do business?
Paid £106 in May for 1 ticket to see Joan Armatrading, travelled to England from France especially and 3 days before they told me no tickets available. They are supposed to me refunding me. Went to theatre myself this morning and got a returned ticket, better seat for £35.
They are scammers and should not be allowed to trade.
I would recommend trusting everyone's reviews here. But I had a very pleasant experience and the shows was awesome no problem with tickets though i think i may have been overchargeda bit. I feel bad this happened to other people and will look elsewhere for tickets
I was fortunate enough to be checking 2 sites at the same time to realise this was quite simply a scam. What you initially see is something looking close to the right price, until you start clicking through and the fees get piled on top.
ViaGoGo tickets were 60% more than I paid for tickets from the official vendor including all fees. Furthermore, I got the last 2 tickets from the official vendor for the tier I was looking for, and there was no premium as tickets became more scarce.
Tip for consumers:
Top tip - run while you can
This is company is deceitful and should answer for fraud! I was trying to buy tickets for my boyfriend for Christmas and thought that I was £262 for two tickets (still extortionate but not completely devastating). Then when I got their email it turns out they took £533! They have a horrible stress inducing timer which prevents anyone from reading their terms and conditions or checking the price before they confirm. I have since checked the venue's polcy on resold tickets and the Royal Albert Hall have said that they do not accept resold tickets and that people will be turned away at the door. To sell something you have no right to sell is fraud! I urge all of you who have been a victim of this site to complain, tell all of your friends and loved ones and make a claim for fraud if you can! My bank are trying to help me get my money back.
I bought tickets to a concert, which they delivered online. The ticket looked 100% identical to my friend's ticket, except my friend had bought their ticket from a different website. Then when we got there, the entrance staff to the event told me that my ticket was fake.
I managed to get in contact with Viagogo (which is lucky, because it sounds like most people couldn't), and they said they would give me a full refund. I'll update this if/when the refund goes back to my credit card.
NUFC in Hamburg: No detail in the seat location, row or numbers. Cherges were added at the end:
2 x £1.90
Booking Fee 2 x £29.83
VAT 2 x £5.9
Booking fee says it is for shipping and secure delivery... 2 paper tickets in an envelope and they charge 2 x £29.83? What for, twice the package wight?
Also says '24 hour customer service', can't find an email address or phone number. Had to google how to contact them... Bad reviews... there are lots of better sites who don't charge as much...
I purchased tickets for Ed Sheeran in San Antonio the screen said section F3 advised they would arrive 3 days prior to the venue and the two tickets would be together. I received 2 parking tickets for 10.00 each and had paid 127.65. The description said concert tickets and F3 came up highlighted on the screen where it shows you where you would be seated. Parking was not mentioned anywhere. The invoice came and said lot 3 not section F3 and they will not refund my money or do anything. They only respond via email and have no customer service department. Do not get burned, go to another supplier and make sure you can download your own tickets.
Yup, so I too got shafted by Viagogo. They did have better seated tickets than booking via the arena directly, and I was happy to pay the initial difference in the tickets (50 each) plus the 2 per ticket booking fee.
Then when you are putting in payment details, they say you have only 10 seconds left and you get a pop up... two options: Release tickets or Buy.
Which means you cannot read all the regulations and conditions under the pop up without selecting one of the options... So you panic and buy.
And then end up paying another 93 euros in "taxes".
You cannot cancel or contact this company so I am now paying double for the tickets than I could have been paying. 600 Aussie dollars is an expensive lesson to learn, one mistake I will never make again and I hope you don't either!
Just bought two tickets for Rolling Stones concert in Amsterdam. I was supposed to pay 603 for both tickets! While paying I was shown 603. After I paid it showed me 220 more! Like wtf guys?! Purchase can not be cancelled. They say you can sell the tickets via their $#*!ing page where you end up paying another fees just to sell it. I feel used and robbed! Never ever buy anything from them! I feel disgusted!
Ombudsman should be contacted regarding them as they are rip off. There prices are high as in the last minute they add vat etc when the price without vat is available everywhere. Also on my account they changed currency when i got the order through. Going to do everything to ensure they are stopped.
I thought Viagogo were a trustworthy company, they claim to "guarantee tickets 100%", this is a lie. I paid big money for great front tickets to watch the PDC World Darts final, it was a birthday treat for a friend. I have never paid so much money for any tickets, even the booking fee was more than £50! And now they tell me there was a mistake, and my tickets aren't for the front at all, but for tiered seating near the back! Do not trust these people, they are ticket touts, they inflate prices and lie, you will be very disappointed
How two 25 euro tickets for an opera night can cost you almost 128 euros. ONLY in VIAGOGO scam site. They make you hurry with time limits and losing your tickets decision periods and at the end they send you tickets of much lower value and seating from the one selected and PAID!
Avoid in any case... never again.
Hadn't bought concert tickets before so I didn't realise I was being ripped off by them. I ended up paying hundred percent more than the face value. Feel very cheated! There's a fake time counter to pressure you into acting fast to avoid missing out on the seats you've chosen too. NEVER AGAIN!
