Vroom's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to prolonged service delays and inadequate communication once transactions are completed. Customers frequently report issues with document processing, payment delays, and difficulties in obtaining vehicle registration and titles. While some positive experiences highlight effective sales interactions, these are overshadowed by widespread complaints regarding unresponsive customer service and perceived dishonesty. The overall sentiment suggests that while Vroom may attract customers with competitive pricing, the post-sale support and operational efficiency require substantial improvement to enhance customer trust and satisfaction.

I cancelled with Vroom on 22 March 2022, I was given a case # and was told I would receive my refund of several thousand dollars in 7 days. I have made 6 inquires since March and given the same story check is in the mail. I have yet to receive anything from Vroom. I'm a senior citizen and do not like the way I'm being treated, I worked hard for this money, I at least deserve an answer as to why this is taking so long. My last conversation with Vroom was on 26 May, was told I would have my refund in 72 hours confirmed by an email. Again, that has not happened. I feel like retaining an attorney and suing, this has put a lot of stress on me!
This company is terrible. I am seeing all types of complaints. When I call, they will not transfer me to a person who knows about my problem. They refuse after six months to provide me with a title and will not speak to me. No supervisors or accessable complaint department. Look them up. Florida has filed cases on them for failing to provide a title.
'James Nagy Purchaser of a Ford.
I have a perfect condition low mileage raptor that I've been offered 70k for by carmax and others and I contacted brook who offered me 50k! Then they kept contacting me like that is a good price even though I've told them about the other offers and to leave it alone
Stay away from anything related to Vroom.com
I've had my car for nine months and still have no license plates or registration snd I risk tickets and jail anytime I drive the car. The Vroom Customer Service Department is unwilling, unable, or both in regards to helping resolve the problem. I get apologies, excuses, and blatant lies from the Customer Service representatives.
There is no apparent way to elevate complaints within Vroom's customer service process. Trying to use the chat feature on their website is futile as the message that comes up whenever I attempt to use it is that there is no representative available to chat with.
So here I sit nine months and counting since I bought my car, unable to legally drive it and with no one at Vroom interested or willing to resolve the problem. I can't even sell the car because the State of Texas where I live and where I purchased the vehicle has no record of it in the Department of Motor Vehicles system. When I click Vroom's 'Track My Deal' icon in (see attached picture) an email received from them says I have no purchase history with them. I obviously do as I have a car sitting in my driveway, a paper trail of my purchase and finance agreements, and the emails I took screenshots of.
When it comes to Vroom, do yourself a favor - stay away at all costs! Vroom is the worst company I've ever done business with in over 60 years.
There is NO legit company that has you sign a contract that "could" be adjusted UP or DOWN after signing and you are responsible for the increase. Keep in mind, agents will tell you what you want to hear and then deny or promise to amend your contract and don't follow through at all. Simply put, there are many more ethical alternatives out there and if you never want to see your $249 deposit again, deal with Vroom!
Lastly, try to find Vroom's corporate offices and contact phone numbers... they are no links whatsoever.
What a joke of a company started the process of buying a car from them had to put 250 down to hold the car while i did all the financing thru vroom as well. This process started last week now this week they can't send me any paperwork because they say fedex don't deliver to my house. Well hate to tell them but we get both fedex and ups delivered. Then they send me the paperwork via email but oh now i need to get my signature notarized kind of late in the day to try to find a notary here so i told them to stop the process i would never buy from them again and won't ever say anything good about them. Buy local buy local buy local. Oh and yes they kept the 250 so guess I'm out that.
I purchased a 2016 Honda Civic from Vroom in Jan 2022. The car came with a 7 day return/refund window, a 90 day/6000 mile dealer warranty & I purchased an extended warranty w/ roadside assistance. I told the salesman that I'm a single mom of a baby and that I work from home so I don't drive a lot. He assured me that this was a very safe vehicle and that a top to bottom inspection of the car would take place before they sent it to me. 4 months later and I've put 1,000 miles on the car, but recently my son and I traveled to visit family, a 200 mile round trip. While driving the interstate highway I heard scraping sounds with every bump on the road. I pulled over to find that a bungee cord had been used to re-attach the metal shield under the cars engine and part of that shield was touching the ground. I did my best to pull the piece of metal up and continued driving but soon heard the noise again. I pulled over for a 2nd time and found the piece of metal on the ground so I put it in the trunk and continued on. Next, the low oil warning light came on the dashboard. I was afraid to push our luck and make a 3rd stop on the busy interstate, luckily a rest area was close by. There, I found oil pouring out under the car. 2 tow trucks, $500, and close to 7 hours stranded with my almost 2 year old son, we finally got home at midnight that Saturday. On Monday morning I had the car towed to a Honda service center which of course roadside assistance didn't fully cover the cost of either. Honda advised that the leak was caused by an improperly fastened cap after the last oil change was done (by Vroom). The warranty company won't cover any costs because there's no mechanical breakdown and Vroom says they won't help either because it's outside of the 7 and 90 day warranty windows. Vrooms gross negligence put my baby and I in danger, racked up near $1,000 in debt and left us without our car because I can't afford to pay Honda right now after everything else. I have called many times, speaking with different people each time but I keep getting the same response: Vroom completely refuses to take any responsibility.
Purchased a vehicle cash and 10 weeks later still don't have a tittle or tags on the car, I'm not able to drive the car
This has been the worst car buying experience of my life. First when I spoke to the the saleswoman told me there was a $249.00 deposit and if I bought the car that would be taken off my down payment well that was a lie after I signed all the paperwork I was told that I had to pay my full down payment and the deposit was just a scam to get more money out of me. Secondly they conveniently left out the fact that I would have to pay insurance on the vehicle for 3 weeks before I received it so now I'm paying for insurance on a vehicle I don't even have. An now its just a few days before there supposed to deliver it and there web site says its being prepped for delivery which it has been that for a week now and when I call no one seems to know what's going on with my car and they don't return my emails. All and all a nightmare experience. The Nightmare only gets worse so I finally got my car and the brakes were rotors were completely rusted out and the pads were under 30% and I could not even drive it. My mechanic told me I was lucky to make it to his shop. Then he also told me that my tires were cracked all the way around the tire. So 4 new rotors 4 new brake pads and 4 new tires was the start. Then I had a major exhaust leak that could have killed me and my kids so I had to pay for a rental car for 2 days while my car was in the shop I was reimbursed for the brakes but have yet to be reimbursed for the exhaust leak. Its not over yet now my temporary tags are expiring today I contacted them 4 days ago about and they said they can not get me another set of temporary tags so they will pay for a rental car in which they are dragging there feet on and I have missed work today and will probably miss it again tomorrow. This is the worst customer service I have ever seen in my life DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM VROOM
Worst experience ever! I've had my Tesla for just shy of six months and every month had to call and get them to overnight another temporary license plate. This month they said I wasn't eligible for any more temp plates. They have no idea when they will get my info processed and get my plate! Now I have a car that I can't legally drive. Their solution? They are paying to rent me a car from enterprise and since I had an electric car I'm also sending them my gas receipts and they are reimbursing them. While this may sound acceptable, I have no way to drive my own car! If I wanted to sell it, I can't. I've told them for the past couple of weeks that they need to come pick it up and refund my money. They won't respond. I have no way to resolve this (since they won't communicate) other than to hire a lawyer. What a huge mess! I don't have time to deal with them or this issue. I would NEVER buy anything from them again
TUE: Decided to sell vehicle & obtained online quote
WED: Received & e-signed contracts
THU: Vehicle pick-up
FRI: Check issued with Fed-Ex tracking number
MON: Check in-hand for agreed amount
Zero complaints. Could not have been a smoother process!
My husband bought a car on vroom last year. First, they kept changing the delivery date. Then, the gentleman who delivered the vehicle was rude. Fast forward a year and we have to renew our tag and we CANT because vroom can't contact the third party who has our title to fix it. Now, I'm here with three kids, a car with expired tags, and now I'm looking at late Fees on top of all this at no fault of our own. Just go to a local dealer and do it yourself. It's less of a headache. They say they will have it done by end of day today (4/25/22) but considering we put in a work ticket a WEEK ago, I'm not holding my breath.
I wish I read these comments before buying from Vroom. I only bought from them because they had a very rare car with rare specs I was looking for. I'm going through a nightmare of a temporal tag expiring in 2days and Vroom giving me a back and forth, inconsistent responses ranging from 24-72hrs to 11 weeks, that's a huge gap to get a temporal tag. When I was buying the car they told me it will take just 2 weeks for everything and I went ahead, it took an entire full month to eventually get my car delivered. Now towards the end of my 2nd month still with temp tags, one of their people who randomly call asked me to take the car for inspection in my state which I did and paid out my pocket, she told me I'll get my permanent tag thereafter. That was 2 weeks ago still no permanent tag. Since their temporal tag is expiring in 2 days I called in and each person gave me a different answer, I'll get my temp tag renewal in 24-72, the other in 5weeks, another in 11 weeks. They also requested me to resend the exact same docs I sent when I bought the car. After I did so, they had the nerve to tell me they're rejecting my insurance, the limits need to increase according to their Texas state, what? It's the exact same insurance I bought the same car with, what changed now? Why am I governed by another State I don't even live in. All my other cars are listed under the same insurance package but now Vroom decides not to accept the SAME insurance for renewal of the tag!. I'm done with Vroom, never again!
Bought the car. That was the easy thing. Waited weeks to receive it and still have not recieved a title for it. Its been over a year! They wont answer my calls or emails.
I will start with the facts, I found a Volvo xc90 vin YV4102CK7K*******, and we decided to trade our Nissan rogue toward it, I did a credit application, deposit, and everything went smoothly till then. Everything else went south after you pay your money. 1- horrible to no communication (i have to call tens of times}. 2-weeks passed with no update and they finally came in to pick up our trade (we couldn't drive the vehicle due to mileage limitation and it's a responsibility). Leaving us with no car. 3-trade up bill along with new approved Volvo loan became due and we had to cough up both. 4-called again to find where is the Volvo to find out it was in the Nashville hub close to my home but they lost the key for the car. 5-finally car was brought back and we had to leave out of town and we didn't have time to check it. Of course, something bad went along these lines a noise while driving started coming up to find out that the tires need to be replaced due to uneven wear. 6-Finally temp tag expired on March 1st and we can't drive the vehicle anymore (called like 15 times and had about seven cases made with no result, some ended with hanging up the phone on me. The whole point behind your business model along with Carvana and shift is to avoid dealerships and all the negative with that business model. You are supposed to excel in all the shortcomings of any brick-and-mortar dealership. Everything after paying was wrong Now I need the tag to be completed and in the meantime send me a temp tag, second, I need the tires to be replaced as they are not safe to drive on.
The buying and selling experience is great! Their delivery person was very friendly and professional. They paid me fairly for my trade in and I was happy and excited! My vehicle was even better than the pictures showed! However, after uploading my documents multiple times I am still waiting on my tags and registration! I have made 7 car payments and all they say is my documents have been sent in and are in the hands of our 3rd party vendor. It's such a shame they started off so strong and are ending so badly. I will never use them again.
I was purchasing a car from Vroom. I Was waiting a month and never heard anything after I sent them my 2500 for the down payment. Before I sent the money they were calling me you are approved in the document is getting short and sent your down payment I did everything they asked me to do and once they receive the money never heard anything else. They said that they will give me a refund within 7 to 10 days. I have not received it, it is two weeks later. When I call everybody is telling me something different. Your deal is not canceled, your refund was not approved, so I'm out of $2500 as of right now. I am about to get an attorney to get my money back. Anybody that I know that's looking for a car would never tell them to go to Vroom because you will be scammed. Please check YouTube before you go to Vroom so many states have claims against Vroom being a scam
Anyone looking for a car that wants to trade theirs in needs to know what it's worth. In this market, everything is up. So KBB says my car is worth $7,000 to $8,000. These online dealers are not doing anyone any kind of favor. They won't negotiate on the price of their vehicle or your trade. My car is in like new condition and they are offering me $3,000. Less than half of the low end of the actual book value.
Do not support the lie any longer. Go to a private person or a legitimate dealer.
I did a trade on my old car to get my new car. The Vroom driver did the exchange somewhere else. He refused to give me my old tags back. He then said the contact center will have them shipped back to me in 2 to 3 days. A month later I still haven't got them back and they have been driving the car in Texas. How do I know they have. Because I received a Toll Ticket from Texas. I live in Ohio. I have called so many times to get my old tag back because I am transferring it to my new car. But they say it will take up to 10 weeks. So now my temporary tag is getting ready to expire, and they can't seem to get me a temporary tag either. The salesman Robert couldn't do his job, the customer services can't seem to take notes or pass along case notes to another department. Then there's no supervisors that can take your calls. So please learn from my mistakes don't trust or buy from Vroom.
This is the worse company I've ever worked with. I've never thought it would this horrible. I bought a car in July and 8 months later it did in my driveway all not registered. I got a loan through the companies they selected when finding my car. I added my tax title and registration fees into my loan. Which now I pay for my car that sits in my driveway and for 3 months to the day can't drive because it's not registered. So with all the phone calls and emails and 8 months later as of this am 40 minute phone call still no resolution and if you but a car from them plan on hours of waiting on the phone. Don't bother asking for a supervisor... lmao they don't have A DIRECT LINE for one. So basically you'll be in my position like me and for it's the worse feel trust me. Paying for something you saved and searched for for over a year. Now I just leave my house as it sits in the driveway. All making monthly payment did I say that?
Answer: I got a good offer and my car is 2 years old and in better than average shape. In fact they offered 1400. 00 more than the local dealer, more than Carmax or Carvanna. Then I read reviews, the BBB and received the contract. In there point #7, they said they have the right to adjust the price and do not pay out until they inspect the car. Called and canceled the contract before it got any further. In this day and age I decided if I'm going to sell something I need to look at the person face to face. VROOM holds too many unknowns.
Answer: Don't trust them! Can't handle simple matters as honoring a deposit.
Answer: Awful. I have been waiting for a month and still don't have our deal done yet due to their disorganization and expiring their offer on my trade in, so now I have to start all over again with that process - which, by the way, was part of the reason I chose to buy from them!
Answer: Yes, wait and wait and wait and wait. Be smart, walk away from these people
Answer: Then go ahead and sell it! They do not force you to buy a car!
Answer: They are a bait and switch company! Truly what's on the internet is not always true! If it seems to good to be true? Probably to good to be true!
Answer: I wouldn't do it. Everything in my experience with them has been painful and fishy! I still don't have my deal done yet after a month!
