WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER
I purchased 3 seasons of Big Bang Theory in February. They were supposed to include the digital copy on the receipt from Walmart; it did not. When I first contacted customer service they responded rapidly, once they got my proof that I did in fact make the purchase I claimed, well customer service suddenly became nonexistent. No matter how many time I contact them I have yet to hear any further response! All I want is my digital codes or my money back! This is absolutely ridiculous and I will from now on make all my purchases through Amazon!
Agree with all the negative comments. I have 600 plus movies on VUDU. Downloading a movie to your iPad is a nightmare. 9/10 times it fails. VUDU customer service doesn't care one bit when you seek help. Have had issues with movies not appearing in my account through a purchase several times and when you call or contact their customer service they want exact details of the purchase images and copies of the purchase and when you provide that information they take at least 4-6 weeks to just respond typically asking for more information to research. Each time resulting in 4 weeks more of doing nothing. Remember I paid for these movies and have nothing from them. I've had this happen 6 times. Each of the 6 times I have not gotten a refund or the movie and if u do dispute they will shut your account down. They really suck and hold you for ransom. Remember I have 600 plus movies on here so I am screwed. I typically download on my other apps that are linked to watch while traveling so I know it will be there when I want to watch
AVOID VUDU. I signed up with a paypal coupon promotion in time for the kids 12 birthday sleep over. Was suppose to have five free movies, spoke to Rachelle on Saturday, no help, spoke to Richard on Sunday, customer service isn't. Started writing the promotions department on a Monday, they asked for screen shots of the offer, did that, four times - they said they couldn't read them. Have emailed them over three weeks, called them since day one - all started the 2nd of September, it's the 28th with NO resolution. What a crappy company.
I've used Vudu for several years and amassed a good collection. 3 months ago, the service wouldn't work on my Roku thinking I am out of the Country (I'm not). They say their firewall blocks my IP address because it has been associated with a VPN or Proxy Server (I have never used either). They take weeks to respond to a simple question and offer no help other than blame it on my ISP. This is a class action waiting to happen and I for one cannot wait. Buy your movies from Amazon, iTunes or Google Play.
We rented Tarzan and watched it then it disappeared didn't give us our 24hr the other 2 movies disappear as well so I called and all they would say was sorry but it shows you got them so we paid for 3 movie's and seen one, WILL NEVER RENT ANOTHER OR RECOMMEND IT EITHER
They offer movies free with ads, but I found it to be a bait and switch tactic. Why give dishonest steamers a chance with so many options available for streaming? I wish I'd read reviews BEFORE going to the trouble of signing up and before being tricked and only THEN coming to write a review and seeing that had I JUST READ FIRST, I could have avoided the cheats altogether. First time this has happened to me--done a search on Roku and found a movie offered as free, but it was a lie.
I had an issue redeeming a movie with VUDU. It took two months of none stop email tag with VUDU customer service until I had my movie. A customer service representative emailed me saying, "the issue wasn't his problem".
I pre order a movie with a free movie ticket promotion, I never received the movie ticket, I called VUDU and I asked for help, after a month of more calls and emails, I called again and I got the answer "The department in charge of promotions is called, please call them later".
This is worst than comcast!. Let's see how to this works when I ask for a refund.
I really love Vudu's product. I think it works well and is easy to navigate. While their product is excellent in my opinion, their customer service is some of the worst I have encountered. I recently bought a television that came with a free Mission Impossible code to be redeemed on Vudu. When I tried to redeem the code, it would not work. I contacted Vudu customer service by email. I received a response that they would look into the issue and get back to me. I sent them a picture of the slip of paper which had the redemption code and a picture of my Costco receipt which showed the date on which I bought the television. Since then I have emailed at least once every 5 days asking for an update to which I received no response over the course of a month. I am actually very surprised that they didn't respond at all to my emails. I have never had this happen with any company's customer service. Yes, sometimes the responses I receive are undesired, but I have never been completely ignored as I have been with Vudu. Very poor customer service. One of the worst.
Its good and all but. When you go and purchase a dvd from the store that has the digital download, JUST BE WARNED, when you redeem the code for that one, you get SD. SD PERIOD sucks with vudu because its like the worst quality and its not because of your internet. Its like stepping back into the 1990's. But if you invest 5 to 10 dollars more into the blu-ray, dvd, digital HD bundles, you redeem the code and you will be given either HD or HDX versions and they are so much better and the quality is exactly like your dvd!
Again, its an ok service just not please with SD
And you are better off buying your own copy at the store and be happy with what ever version (depending on how much you invest for either SD or HD) and enjoy the free part of it.
I would never buy my movies just digital. You never know if digital programming movies will be around that long in life... just my opinion
After purchasing a DVD and trying to put it on an external drive I was stymied. So I had to use a new service called Ultraviolet that purports to allow downloading of movies. Well, first I had to register with them and then with VUDU. VUDU offered a download option, but it doesn't work so I am now left to watch the movie through VUDU or run the DVD on my computer, no TV option. I feel ripped off not to mention I now have an unwanted account with VUDU.
I will never ever again use VUDU... I signed up with VUDU last year and received a coupon code. I then used it to watch a movie. With in less than a minute I realized that I've already seen the movie so I then immediately turned it off and called VUDU to see if there was anything that can be done since I didn't watch the movie. I was advised that they would give me the credit back to my acct. Since I didn't watch the movie. I was very pleased to hear this. I really don't use VUDU often so a couple of months later I ordered a show from VUDU expecting it to use my code, instead it used my PayPal acct. I called VUDU, spoke to the rudest supervisor who basically called me a liar. Not only did she say that I never received a credit but also told me that I never ordered the movie from them. I will never again use VUDU & I will advise everyone against using them as well.
Vudu had a bundle package where you can buy all fourJohn Wick movie series at $ 34,99. I tried to order it last night and it gave me the bundle packets for 4 John Wick but I could only open 3 books so I called customer service, the young lady not only didn't speak English, but she was telling me well you're just gonna have to wait until it comes out then she told me well they offered it to Vudu on the 24th but they just haven't released it to Vudu yet so you'll just have to wait I told her then that is false advertisement and I shouldn't have to pay for False Advertisement. She never once offered a refund she only said she'll have to escalate the call. The CS did that and told me to have a nice rest of my afternoon. My question is where's my refund and who's going to pay for my inconvenience.
I received a $5 VUDU movie credit and rented a movie for $2.99. However, VUDU accessed my checking account and debited $2.99 instead of deducting it from the $5 move credit I have -what's alarming is I never even used my checking account to set up my VUDU account (I used my Amex). This is ridiculous and I cancelled VUDU immediately.
Bought a roku stick & received VUDU credits from VUDU that don't work- when you enter the codes all say not valid or expired then VUDU wants a copy of the email they sent me and after I send it they cancel my complaint and never give me a code that works.
Vudu has to have some of the worst customer service there is. I have been using them for several years and have a decent library that I wish I could just move somewhere else. But anyway, a movie was rented twice and they refuse to refund the second one. Just flat refuse. I have never asked for their help. Not only did they refuse, I had to contact them over and over and over again to even get someone to respond. It was one of those new release 19.95 movies. We rented it, watched it and it expired. A couple of days later around Christmas we were setting up a new TV and the movie showed up again in our queue as if it was newly rented. No email confirmation. Nothing confirming it. It was odd. No one has access to my account. I contacted them and told them what happened and heard crickets for days. I could not reach a live person. Finally an email days later after numerous contacts basically saying sorry no refunds. Told me to set up a PIN for accidental purchases. I told them over and over it was not an accidental purchase or unauthorized it was clearly some weird app glitch. No receipts from it like normal. We had not even used Vudu that day we just logged into it on the new TV. They did not care. They finally stopped responding to me altogether.
Constant buffering issues
Requirement for a Flash plug-in (after movie played several times, albeit poorly before)
No evidence of improvement or interest in improving despite feedback
All other streaming media site like Netflix & Amazon Prime Video work perfectly on MacBook Air (VUDU blames the player)
Off to submit a Better Business Bureau complaint...
I just received a $10 free code to try it... The movie buffered no matter what definition 10x in 3 minutes. It sucks real bad! Netflix and redbox is way better!
Customer service sucks. Tried 2 email addresses, never got a reply from vudu on either.
Called customerservice. Waited on hold 20 minutes.
Don't waste your time
Very tricky language on the packaging, to the unwary, it would appear to say this service is free. It's free to sign up. Must have credit card info to redeem credit, credit that spreads out as small amounts over a few months. Packaging for spark advertises $20 credit, it's more accurately $5 in credit a month for 4 months, is what's in the fine print. A LOT of tricky stuff like that, when it's unreliable easy access to pay-per-view service in reality. Set-up between devices was a little frustrating, although it plugs easily into hdmi and uses any cellphone charger. Not an especially high quality anything though, New releases available for purchase. It's like one of those pay as you rent video kiosks in your tv. Not what advertising would imply, which would be more like chromecast or amazon. Those stream netflix hulu plus youtube etc., no charges with regular subscription. I think this is ok to hook up once in awhile. Oh did I mention that your free credit expires? So none of that saving it to see a new movie. No sir..
Answer: I would just stay away from vudu altogether. They are the worst company I have ever interacted with. I spent a lot of money on videos with them and I cannot watch any of them because the just buffer literally every 5 seconds and then I downloaded them through vudu to go and they won't play on there either. I keep getting a message that vudu cannot authenticate my account. I e-mailed customer services 3 times and have never received a response. I have wasted about $1000. 00 on movies that I cannot watch. I have started using amazon prime video and other sites as well and have no problems whatsoever. Just stay away from vudu they are just taking your money.
Answer: I have had nothing but problems with vudu. My opinion is just stay away and use another company. They are the worst. You will waste your money.
