How any corporation would contract with this company to administer benefits is beyond me. They are 100% incompetent, my HR employees agree! Shocking how Alight never asks me to take a survey….Alight knows they are horrible. Companies contract with Alight to reduce headcount and pad the bottom line at the detriment to their employees.
I got a divorce and a portion of the assets I received were my ex husband Nordstrom 401k. I went to an attorney and a quadro was made. I never received from Nordstrom or Alight any information on how to gain access to this account. They I can see the information online but can't do anything with it. They have lied and said the quadro wasn't completed even though all the info is in my name and personal information not my ex husband. Nordstrom never should have outsourced to these people as now both companies look bad in this issue.
I have an unused balance on my smart card. After a few attempts to utilize my money in the same year they denied claims and now i cant access the rest of my money i put on there. Its shameful that i cant access MY MONEY
I called at 5 pm EST and the computer jacked me around for 20 minutes after that they put me to a nice young man named Wilson who proceeded to ask me questions when he stalled long enough for the self imposed deadline of 4:30 pm central time when I asked to speak to a supervisor none were magically available as far as I'm concerned I was only going to get some of my money and when I call back I will get it all and roll it over so I don't have the hassle of dealing with Alight
Alight messed up my transfer out to Fidelity and they could care less about it. They do the absoute minimum and don't follow through. Their escalation path is to just send your to another "manager" who can't help you. Will be so glad to get my retirement $$$ out of this rinky-dink place and into a professional firm.
Alight was a nightmare to deal with when the company I worked for(a major airline) used them to manage our HSA/FSAs. They always denied claims for no reason, then required ridiculous amounts of documentation before paying. Thankfully, after so many employee complaints our company switched to another company to manage the HSA/FSA's. The new company is wonderful, they made us see how bad Alight truly was.
Alight, for companies that want to drive away top talent. You can save a few bucks on benefits while spending a fortune on turnover.
Near impossible to get resolution of an error Alight made in dropping my wife's eligibility and coverage in a premium reimbursement account during transition from AON. One there want to or will accept responsibility for THEIR over administrative errors and rectify it. Not able to contact a Manager; most employees work remotely and do not have authority and in many cases, the skill, to deal with such problems. They want to blame the customer for their error.
Automated phone line response: "I understand what you are saying, but I do not have any information on that". Email responses which do NOT answer the issue are sent from "no reply" email address. No matter what I click on using the app, I am brought to the "Manage Communications" page. The virtual assistant is worthless. Their constant requirement to change passwords is annoying and cumbersome. One of the main issues is the lack of flexibility with sales and purchases for distributions. It is not allowed by Alight to choose what one wants to sell. One must sell some of each investment in the portfolio. Who do they think they are to tell ME what to do with MY money? And we are paying them an annual fee ( percentage) to be abused as customers. GET OUT of you can. Pronto.
I'm a recent retiree and found my employer had outsourced all of this. One issue after another and never a call back. Call them and you get someone who can't help, but only open a request for you. Then, the request gets closed in a few days with no comments and no call. Open a new request and demand a response and call and they close it again, maybe resolving only a portion of the questions. Call again and told it's a new request. I retired a month ago and STILL going in circles with these ridiculous requests and getting one little thing at a time resolved. THEN, when calling again I'm told things that disagree with the last person I talked to. I liked working for my employer for 25 years, but their choice of Alight now makes me wonder about them as well.
My son passed over 2 months ago and Alight has been handling his companies final disposition of his finances. They refuse to give out contact info and make you use their antiquated call center, they refuse to use email or fax and insist on using snail mail. 3 no-reply emails were sent with no information on why the hold up on the resolution of his benefits! Eventually thru a 3rd party they were claiming to be waiting on the return of affidavits which they claimed to have mailed, to this date those affidavits have never been received. They refuse to give their names or to speak to a supervisor. DEI at its finest!
They will mark your requests closed after 7 days whether they have been resolved or not.
Companies pay $10/mo for their services so they are quite happy with them.
If I'm ever on a jury for some stressed individual who shows up at their business address and goes postal that individual is already acquitted in my mind.
Other than that Alight is great.
I have never had the misfortune to engage with anyone who was more curt and abrasive. After 4 different phone calls and a denied claims to spend time with my son in the ICU, it took one exceptionally short staff member to get my case manager to look at my sons birth verification.
I am absolutely livid and frustrated with this abysmal company. I can't imagine why any company that values their employees would choose to partner with alight. More than anything I am frustrated that when my son is finally released from the NICU, I have to come back and do this all over again.
Cheers to my company. I hope you saved a few cents by having these "solutions" instead of working with internal HR.
They are requiring joint bank statement to prove I am married, as Alight claims the marriage certificate is not enough. Executives take notice, I'm in HR, and this is the scammiest way to treat your staff. Alight's processes should be called into question.
Alight handles my mother's 401k/pension for UPMC. My parents passed away in an accident. My siblings and I are beneficiaries and have been working over 10 months to receive funds. Alight lost paperwork more times than I have fingers. They lost paperwork that I sent certified and have the receipt of who signed for it. My social security number and address went from being correct to incorrect. Then no one could speak with me because I was not able to verify my identity, even thought they had notarized paperwork with my correct social and address. 3 months have passed since they were supposed to directly deposit funds into my account. This time I was told that the account keeps erroring, which was said to be very rare, and will require special authorization for payment. I feel bad for UPMC employees, as this company maintains their retirements. I have never experienced such incompetence. I wouldn't let them manage an account for my dog!
I have an account with ALIGHT and I think they unfairly target individuals if you have a complaint against them. I have a flexible spending account with ALIGHT and I believe they are unfairly targeting me simply because I was upset because they denied a payment to my provider, which caused me to be dropped as a patient, unless I am paying cash. I called in to complain and now every time I use my benefits that want detailed receipts. I have talked to numerous employees within our company, and they have NEVER been asked for a receipt. However, I am asked for everything. Has anyone had this issue. I would like to get this company looked at for unfair business practices.
Would give this HSA custodian zero stars if I could! Horrible experiences time after time. First this company closed my HSA when I quit my employer. Um, hello HSAs are supposed to be owned by the employee and can be accessed even if you are no longer employed with the organization that was depositing your contributions and ONLY your contributions into this account. They then proceeded to tell me I couldn't transfer my money into my new HSA custodian as I needed to have my account transferred to a retail account. So after weeks of trying to get this sorted out with them, it finally got transferred. Now I'm waiting for them to transfer my funds to my new custodian, and every time I call, I get a different story from every rep I talk to. It's been a month now and I still haven't seen my funds be transferred to my new custodian. This company is an absolute joke! If your employer uses this HSA provider good luck, you will need it, as you will most likely get the "run around" too.
Repeated claim denials AFTER working with customer service each time. The claims reviewers are insulated from customers and don't offer clarity about reasons for denial. Their business model seems to rely on throwing up every conceivable roadblock to a claim, providing the most minimal response allowed by law, and getting a customer to give up. Apparently it's not possible to talk to the claims workers. One must just keep guessing at what they want. I would steer clear of them if you can.
Seriously. Their site is not working for our company and i have been working with their tech department who asked to see a screenshot of the error code. Fair enough, right? Well, the only way to communicate with them is via fax or mail. They are forbidden to use any sort of email to send or receive documents. The employee straight up claimed they keep begging their higher leadership to allow it but they get the response of "we have been like this for years and it has always worked." Garbage organization that is clearly bound for failure.
This what I would not even deem a company has done to me and others within my company in where they just have ripped people clean off. To add insult to injury they did so one week before Christmas Day.
Answer: It's a legimate scam company. It has offices and many employees, but fails on adminsitering benefits, wrongdfully denies claims,. And has no effective customer service. Whatever little they are paid by the company that hires them is a ripoff.
Answer: They are often imposible to reach in a sense because the computer system has limited topics, none related to Alight screw-ups, and if you pick the least immaterial choice, the rep you reaches is not emplowred to solve problems, only to report them to the indifferent Alight higher-ups in the U.S.
Answer: They weer picked by the company from which I retired - has to be bacasue they work cheap - but are not worth what they charge. Who hires a BBB D- rated company?
