I spent a lot of money ordering light fixtures for my company however, almost half of what is delivered is either not working or poor quality. I buy a lot of items online but this company is a fraud. I have attempted to return the merchandise however, they give you ally kinds of reasons not to. This experience was a nightmare to me.
I bought a vanity light for my bathroom which was in the process of being remodeled in August. With delays in bathtub production and other contractor problems, I found the light didn't match the quartz counter. Unfortunately, it was after the 30 day return policy. Thankfully, build.com agreed to accept my return with an exchange. They charged a 10% restocking fee and a very small postage fee. The replacement light looks fantastic. I recommend Build.com.
Ordered a vanity and mirror with sink. Everything was smooth sailing. COuldnt find what we were looking for locally and were not disappointed when the vanity arrived. Color and quality were spot on. Never had a bad experience with Build.com. Ordered as a homeowner this time but frequently used the site as a contractor and always had a good experience. Thanks.
This is my first transaction with Build.com, the web site is easy to navigate, the transaction was very easy, the shipping was very fast. I am sure that in the future I will check on Build.com for the item(s) I am looking for, a great business to deal with.
I have spent over $40k with Build.com for appliances and fixtures for my kitchen and bathrooms. My last purchase was this September. I purchased an LG washer and dryer, about $3800. 00 They were delivered on the 19th of September and the delivery driver placed them in my garage, boxes were shrink wrapped. My contractor was going to install the washer & dryer 3 weeks later when he noticed that the housing on both machines were severely damaged. I contacted Build.com and they basically told me tough, "you only had 48 hours after delivery to report any damage". I contacted LG but they told me that I bought the appliances through Build.com not directly from LG. I will never buy anything from Build.com. Build.com is all about sales, not customer relations! BEWARE!
Build.com will charge you to return a product, even if the product you received is faulty. In my case, I ordered Rev-A-Shelf clothes bins in the metal tone of brushed nickel. When they arrived in a gold tone, which did not match any of the other brushed nickel in the closet, I asked for a return code. Unknown to me at the time, they charged me almost $20 to process the return. Although I have been satisfied with materials I received from Build.com in the past, I will not order from them again. The additional costs, should you need to return, are too much.

Unfortunately, all finishes vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and we cannot guarantee it will match your entire project. Dissatisfaction with color, is considered a general return and is subject to those return costs up to and including return shipping.

I first ordered from Build.com a year ago. I wanted a particular brass hardware set for a new door and I found it on their site. I took a chance and ordered it and it arrived quickly. Fast forward to two weeks ago. Again, I was on a search for a particular size outdoor ceiling light. No one had it. And low and behold Build.com had the exact size I needed to fit in the existing opening. Again, I ordered online and it arrived in two days. Finally, I decided to replace our outside front lighting. I had so many questions about sizes and mountings so I called and spoke to Fred. He did the research I needed for measurements and gave me a great price. The lights were shipped directly from the manufactured and arrived in 2 days! All 4 lights were installed today and look fabulous. By the way, a local lighting store near me carried the exact same light and I saved a great deal of money ordering from Build.com. I am extremely satisfied with my purchases.

Second order, I ordered a clock, I noticed a flaw in it. I sent photos to back my claim. They refunded me in full, told me to donate that clock and sent me a new clock. Free clock. How can you say anything bad about this customer service policy on both orders?

Build.com shipped 2 mirrors with manufacturing defects. Rather than allow us to return the item, Build.com filed 2 fraudulent insurance claims with UPS, and refuses to provide return labels. Build.com suggests that I should be responsible for disposing of their trash. We are filing a BBB complaint. We are also reporting their fraud to UPS and taking whatever action we can.
I thought at first the company was great because they seemed to zero in on what I wanted. They delivered the Kohler faucet within days. However, I later discovered the faucet to be greatly lacking in quality. When I told them I would like a call because of the problem, I heard no further.
Ordered two days ago, still can't even get the order past the hold status as they are waiting for their finance team to approve something however all info is valid and working with my credit card. They overcomplicate their backend it seems
We are owner building a barndominium in Tennessee. This vendor is AWESOME SAUCE! Their reps are excellent, resourceful and gets you the best price.
We had a defective fan and before I could finish saying what was wrong the re said no problem get you a new one coming and pick up label being emailed.
We will now get our electric final! Tried to upload pics but site would not allow me too.

Horrible Experience. I purchased a dishwasher which was determined to have a defect after installed. Once it was installed it was leaking water and we would not have determined the leak unless it was installed. BUT since the dishwasher got installed they would not replace or return. They left me with a defective $1600 dishwasher. If you buy from build.com plan for the product to be yours, whether it's working or not. I found multiple reviews online with similar experience. I have a whole house reno to do and will not be using build.com. A $1600 lesson for me, but costing the company thousands more because they have lost my business for good.
I work with a remodeling company in Florida and we do many bathroom remodels. Due to our aging population, we install tons of grab bars. I found the Moen grab bars that we use on build.com website for less $$, and super fast delivery. Their customer service reps are professional and knowledgeable, and were eager to help the one time the order was wrong (not sure if my fault or theirs).
Shortly after I received my online order with Build.com that was shipped from Chino, California, my American Express Card was compromised by someone in California who attempted to use it with Lyft.com...
After I placed an order for some simple post cap lighting, it stated I need to also purchase some adapter. After I got my product, the adapters were not needed, so I returned them. The return was not processed and I could not get them to refund my money. I did not have the adapters anymore either as they were already sent back to build.com.
Poor service and more like a "scam" to force you to buy more than you need then not even process my refund after I shipped the items back.
Drawer pulls dont fit and I am STILL on hold after more than 34 minutes. Clearly a company that doesnt value its customers time. Had they simply put return labels and/or instructions on the invoice I would not have wasted my time.

Answer: I don't know how you can actually get them to answer the correct lead time. I received an estimated ship date when I ordered an American Standard faucet. Then, they emailed me 3 more times with delays. I called them after the first delay, and while I was on the phone with the agent, she placed me on hold and called American Standard, and said they told her that there would be no more delays. After this last delay, I called to cancel the order. They said they would "request cancellation" from American Standard. The big problem is they charged my account IMMEDIATELY when I ordered the product, but won't refund the money until American Standard confirms the cancellation. The service agent i spoke with escalated to her supervisor, and the supervisor is the worst person I have ever encountered when dealing with customer service.
Answer: Sorry to hear that. What finish were you trying to match? Usually its best ti use the same brand name when trying to match a finish, such as a Moen faucet to match a Moen towel bar or towel ring. That is because everybody has their own technique of making their products. I wonder if the finish on your new American Standard faucet is doesn't match because the other item you're matching in not made by American Standard. You should be able to return it if it hasn't been installed in any way and you still have the original packaging. The return items page has complete directions that make it fairly easy to send items back. Good Luck! Anthony

While we do have an occasional defect get sent out, we are always quick to send a new one out to the customer.
