When picking out my items I was able to have a on screen and chat with customer services who helped me make sure that all items were compatible then when my client changed their mind they refunded my purchase at no cost didn't even charge me for shipping definitely give them 5 stars would definitely do business with them again in the future

We renovated two kids bathrooms. Pretty straight forward three under sink cabinets, tubs, sinks and plumbing supplies. Orders lost in space, call center reps that don't follow up and who are clearly not empowered to make decisions.
Once the material leave the warehouse Build is no longer responsible for the thousands of dollars of materials you have just purchased and have no systems to track where it is. I had to reach out to each shipping company to see when, if they were coming, when they didn't show up when were they coming since i needed to be here to sign for it.
I bought items from Ferguson's and had none of this this ridiculously poor service. We are planning to renovate our kitchen this year I can't imagine using Build ever again.
Least Reliable - Do Not Expect Customer Service as "It" does not exist in this company - Build.com rep's can be nice on the phone to get your order and money - Once they have your order, you are on your own - Be prepared for Indefinite Delays and that it is and will be up to you/customer to figure out the rest.
I was able to track and receive my shipment after a huge delay which cost me endure additional expenses... this happened, only after I made numerous calls to the shipping company "Estes", with the last call to their Virginia headquarters to track and find my door which was sitting less than 90 miles away from me in a warehouse, because of alleged missing label.
Build.com during the wait and research period, Neither returned my calls nor replied to my numerous emails requesting, assistance in tracking and expediting shipping. Very Disappointing.
I had several issues in placing a complete order, including all the parts necessary for the installation. Each question was answered promptly and the items were placed in my cart. Returning could not have been any easier. I will definitely shop here again!
We have ordered quite a few orders through them and have NEVER had an issue. Shipping has always been quick and full orders. If I'm looking on line and they are in the same ballpark as another company, I will always choice Build.com because of my past experiences!
One of the worst customer service experiences ever.
They are unreachable by phone (more than 1 hour on hold on 2 occasions) and unresponsive to email.
They routinely do this Catch-22 thing where they demand you call them *right away* or your order will be cancelled and then they just don't pick up the phone.
Go elsewhere.
Customer service is terrible. Hold time average is 35 minutes. Ordered a bathtub and was told delivery company would call to set up a date. They never did and showed up at my house when I was out of town. Service rep at Build said they never said that I would be called. Dealt with three different people who all said terrible things about coworkers. Delivery company driver cursed at me on the phone and tub finally arrived broken. It took over a month to get a refund, and they wanted to charge me for storage. Home Depot matches their prices. Stay AWAY from these people. And this is only a small part of my horror story with them
Build.com takes customer service seriously. Not only do they ship fast, but their phone support is outstanding. I had all of my questions answered and got some great product suggestions for my remodeling project. I had one item arrive damaged, and the replacement was shipped to me the same day I called!
Madeline Brown helped us through purchase with comparisons, sample carts for review, ordering, returns, and shipments. Many chats, emails, text messages and numerous phone calls to us and for us to warehouse, logistics and other builder.com areas. She was helpful, cheerful and thoughtful. Please extended our Thanks. We feel as though we made a "friend In the business" and a friend! build.com will be our first stop for future major purchases. Shipment arrived and waiting for installers... open the shipping container to find a damaged toilet. Madeline had a new toilet on the way in a couple of hours!. Again thank you!

After a week they still didn't ship a bunch of door knobs. This is not rocket science.
It seems the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. They must pay their employees crap and hire incompetence to save money.
Really disappointed in Build.com and their customer service and return process. When everything goes as planned, prices are great. But if things arrive broken, forget it. Can't get through to a real person. Replacement/ delivery times were wrong. When you can't get in touch with a real person, it's just a recipe for disaster. You just get a perfunctory email saying sorry for the imposition and you get stuck with the bill. Will never use this site again.
Read below my review... these people are advertising items as in stock that they do not actually keep in stock. Basically everything is drop chipped... they do not stock much in house. So their in stock status is a load of bull. Worse they constantly gave me updates it would ship tomorrow. Then it failed to ship... then o. K. tomorrow for sure... then failed again.
Simply put stay away from these scam artists... customer service is worthless... they have no idea what is going on. You might as well ask a 4 year old on the street whats up with your order.

I had written a scathing review about their business practices and lack of professionalism. Within 48 hours, an associate from the office of the president contacted me and rectified the matter and arranged for credit for all returned items. That restored my confidence and am once again referring clients to them for purchases. The new pro rep Amber is excellent to work with. Well done folks.
I am a builder in Atlanta and I have tried to use Build.com for years. Long story short... they screwed me again. I spoke to Jordan, a CSR, and placed an order through my pro account. He took my AMX #, checked the bill to and ship address, told me which warehouse the product would shipping the item, and gave me a tentative delivery date. As it turns out all of this was too difficult for the order taker to handle and my order was never input. I have a whole house reno to deliver and the kitchen sink is easily described as vital... Second time this has happened within a year with this company. STAY AWAY... they are slow, inefficient and no effort to be best price, even for regular business with a price match request.
I placed an order 08-04-2022 and languished for over 3 months only to be
Canceled without my permission, no prior notice given nor reason today 11-10-2022.
I complained to Build.com supervisor who told me 8-4-2022 order was canceled back in September 2022. Build.com wants me to pay again to reorder while I wait 7 days for a refund.
I told them this is bad customer service nothing to do with supply chain issues since
6 door knobs are in stock. I will wait for full refund before placing re order.

Turns out they don't even carry the part listed hence why the wrong part was shipped. 100% their error but they refuse to refund the rather steep shipping charges.
Stay away.
There are far more reputable businesses to deal with than this one. They don't stock anything they are just middlemen for low class vendors who can't get business or already lost business.
The worst inventory control ever... despite Build.com representative confirming in writing the availability of these lights on April 12,2018 it is now 5/7/18 and Build is sending me yet another email extending the ETA saying the lights will not be at the vendor until 5/22. Previous estimated arrival at vendor was 5/8/18. Who knows if they actually arrive then and if so when the vendor ships them to me. They are literally on a slow boat from China. I would never have ordered them in the first place had the Build rep (Quintin Brown) not mistakenly told me in writing that they were in stock.
Fabulous experience all around! Fast shipping, good prices, everything came in good order. Placed many many orders through them and VERY HAPPY with this experience. Made the mistake of ordering one product they did not carry from ATG and it was a nightmare. Really put this company and their sub companies (faucet direct) in perspective. Cannot say enough good about them.
No issues in general with order - shipped promptly within 1-2 business days. However, I found the same item for lower price on HomeDepot or Lowes. The price delta was about $4 on about $50 &100 items. They refused PM saying that it is below their cost! That is unique reasoning...

Answer: I don't know how you can actually get them to answer the correct lead time. I received an estimated ship date when I ordered an American Standard faucet. Then, they emailed me 3 more times with delays. I called them after the first delay, and while I was on the phone with the agent, she placed me on hold and called American Standard, and said they told her that there would be no more delays. After this last delay, I called to cancel the order. They said they would "request cancellation" from American Standard. The big problem is they charged my account IMMEDIATELY when I ordered the product, but won't refund the money until American Standard confirms the cancellation. The service agent i spoke with escalated to her supervisor, and the supervisor is the worst person I have ever encountered when dealing with customer service.
Answer: Sorry to hear that. What finish were you trying to match? Usually its best ti use the same brand name when trying to match a finish, such as a Moen faucet to match a Moen towel bar or towel ring. That is because everybody has their own technique of making their products. I wonder if the finish on your new American Standard faucet is doesn't match because the other item you're matching in not made by American Standard. You should be able to return it if it hasn't been installed in any way and you still have the original packaging. The return items page has complete directions that make it fairly easy to send items back. Good Luck! Anthony

While we do have an occasional defect get sent out, we are always quick to send a new one out to the customer.
