I've purchased a few items in the past from Build.com and haven't had any issues. The sales adviser's have been friendly and helpful. They carry a ton of products and the prices always seem fair. Plus they will match other competitive company prices that are lower... Will be spending more with them in the future... Thanks..
I ordered multiple items over a period of months while doing home renovations. The selection of items and prices are great. Items always came timely and looked as they did in picture and description. One package got lost in the mail and it only took a quick online chat w a customer rep to get the item resent and this was done at no charge. I really appreciated the excellent service, item selection and prices!
Just received my replacement part 3 days ahead of schedule. Sam was my contact person for the company. Outstanding knowledge and follow through service. This company will get all my future business. As a sideline, I originally ordered the wrong part and when I told them about it being my error, the company allowed me to return the part for credit and even provided a return UPS label. Great friendly company to do business with. Thank you.
It is a very modern look. It is sleek, not huge and clunky looking. The spout is lower than others I considered so water does not splatter all over and outside the sink. It has an aerator which helps with splatter since the long neck is much taller than my old faucet.
Most everything I ordered arrived quickly and in good condition. When a toilet arrived that was broken they sent a replacement right away and I was not charged for shipping though I was told initially that there might be a charge if I were to return the unit. Overall my experience was very positive, their prices are good, they have access to nearly every home improvement manufacturer, and their staff was very helpful when making product choices.
They used a shipper that doesn't ship residential. What? After my shipment sat at their warehouse for a week, I found out that they were going to hire a subcontracted shipper to deliver it. After getting no firm delivery date, I had to go get it myself. Just goes to show the best price isn't the best deal! Should have paid more and bought it locally.
Thank you for your feedback. Some carriers will subcontract to smaller companies because they trucks they have are too big. But it should not have taken that long, and you having to pick it up. After ordering 2 California Faucet products six months ago and realized I ordered the wrong product when I went to have it installed is where Build.com exceeded my expectations.
1) Impressive Technology: by the capture of my phone number they knew everything about me, my last order, where the product was shipped etc. zero questions were asked to ID me.
2) Impressive human customer service: "Robert" while on the phone set up a return authorization for the wrong product I ordered and immediately ordering the correct product. When I explain the urgency of getting the correct product he took it upon himself to call the manufacturer and reduce the 7-10 day lead time to overnight!
The correct product arrived perfectly and is being installed!
It's great when you see technology and people work together for a better outcome!

Build.com also known as Build with Ferguson is not a legitimate company. They take your order and your money with no intention of delivering the actual products to you. We spent $696 in March 2021 and never received our order nor our money back. Do not buy from them unless you want to give away free money to a sham operation.
I picked out certain black matte finish shower head and faucet that I wanted for our new master bathroom. The products all show as "in stock" however 7 DAYS after I ordered, I got an e: mail that says the items would not ship for about another 10-14 days. A week had already passed so then I was forced to either pick something else out that I didn't love OR spend another $150 and buy a higher end item. Even when I go on their website right now, that item still shows "in stock" which is misleading! I wont be ordering from here again.
This business is a joke. They sent me an $800 damaged Kohler sink, wrapped in thick plastic to cover up. Mt contractor installed it, then peeled off the plastic to discover there was a huge dent. We had to un-install the sink and Kohler had to send us a credit for Build.com to send us a new one because Build.com didn't want to deal with it. The SECOND delivery from Build.com was a damaged and already installed kitchen sink from a previous customer. I about lost it with them because they have zero quality control. We are now incredibly delayed with our construction and the customer service was useless and utterly stupid worker ants. I will never order from them again. Save your money and most importantly, TIME!
Tried a shower head and was not as described. Unhooked & attempted to return in all original packaging after I saw that the spray did not meet expectations. Was told via customer service that this item in not returnable. Company is a SCAM!
If you like good service, prompt and honest answer go away as quick as you can, coz buil.com wont provide you any of this
They don t even have the product they sell in stock, you ll see that their is 50 of it on the web page, that it ll be ship in 1-2 days but it s far from the truth...
I'm very sorry to hear about your negative customer experience with Build.com. We do list stock feeds on our product pages, but the stock feed can shift and fluctuate throughout the day. We can sometimes be notified by a manufacturer or vendor that the product unfortunately went into a back-order status prior to us updating our stock feed. This is unfortunate and we try to not run into this situation, but it can still happen. If it does, we can certainly cancel your order and/or help you find an alternative satisfactory item. We pride ourselves in customer service and are happy to help when situations like this arise.

Build.com charged my credit card thru Amazon within 12 hours immediately after I ordered a shower faucet. 72 hours later, I still have not received an email confirmation of my order. I am going to contact my credit card to not process the payment.
Stay away and run from this business. It is a fraud.
After much review, decided to buy a certain model refrigerator. Build.com web page displayed they had 12 in stock. I contacted them twice before ordering to be sure it was available. It was, they assured. Placed an order for the appliance and extended warranty. A day later, I received an email stating that they had cancelled the order for the refrigerator do to a stocking error, but would send the extended warranty.? It took 30+ minutes of telephone hold time to get thru to cancel the warranty portion of the order. Not a good company to purchase products...
Bought a Friedrich AC unit. Had it delivered. Installed it and it doesn't work. No Friedrich servicemen will come to fix because it's too far for them. I called 5 places.Build.com doesn't care. They have a NO return policy on appliances but they don't tell you that up front. Now I have a brand new broken ac unit no one will fix. Stay away from this place>
My contractor recommended Build.com for our master bath remodel. We were very satisfied with the products, selection and service. When it came time for delivery of the tub, we were contacted in advance for a delivery time & date. The delivery truck arrived exactly when they were scheduled to.
The only downside to shopping online is that you can not touch/feel the quality of the products and have to trust that what you are getting is what is noted in the description and from other consumers reviewing the product. I did go to a bathroom showroom to get an idea of the products available. We were fortunate with our selections and would shop here again for future projects.
We purchased an Anzzi faucet through Build. The faucet, despite the price, is very poor quality and started leaking and failed within 9 months of install. We contacted Build and they referred us to the manufacturer. When the manufacturer was totally unreachable by email or phone, we reached out to Build again and explained the issue, we bought a product through Build and could not get a response from the manufacturer. Build reiterated that they are unwilling to do anything to assist, as it had been more than 3 months since the purchase. Their total refusal to stand behind products they sell should discourage you from shopping with them.
I included a picture of the inside of our sink cabinet. It looks like this so we can limit the amount of water that gets into and behind our sink cabinet.
More than 3 months ago I cancelled a large order because the lead time was 2+ months out and order an alternative. Build.com has owed my company over $8,500 for over 3 months! They have given me multiple excuses of where the money has gone, and I have yet to see a refund! Be careful with them!
Well this is not a company I would use if you need your product on time. I placed an order on 7/8/17 was told it would ship in 5 days. Its now the 21st. No door hardware.
They said it was the factory. I called Emtek direct. Could not find my order. Called Build.com back to get the purchase order they used with Emtek to see what the hold up is. I was then told they do not order direct from Emtek but some other sub standard warehouse. I was also told it might ship on 8/1. In the meantime, I have 2 holes in each door waiting for hardware. They said they could not do anything for me.
This company is a disgrace. Ordered a front door handle set that was missing pieces. One month later and at least 6 phone calls between my contractor and myself calling them and Kwik Set and it is still not resolved. Never again!

Answer: I don't know how you can actually get them to answer the correct lead time. I received an estimated ship date when I ordered an American Standard faucet. Then, they emailed me 3 more times with delays. I called them after the first delay, and while I was on the phone with the agent, she placed me on hold and called American Standard, and said they told her that there would be no more delays. After this last delay, I called to cancel the order. They said they would "request cancellation" from American Standard. The big problem is they charged my account IMMEDIATELY when I ordered the product, but won't refund the money until American Standard confirms the cancellation. The service agent i spoke with escalated to her supervisor, and the supervisor is the worst person I have ever encountered when dealing with customer service.
Answer: Sorry to hear that. What finish were you trying to match? Usually its best ti use the same brand name when trying to match a finish, such as a Moen faucet to match a Moen towel bar or towel ring. That is because everybody has their own technique of making their products. I wonder if the finish on your new American Standard faucet is doesn't match because the other item you're matching in not made by American Standard. You should be able to return it if it hasn't been installed in any way and you still have the original packaging. The return items page has complete directions that make it fairly easy to send items back. Good Luck! Anthony

While we do have an occasional defect get sent out, we are always quick to send a new one out to the customer.
