Purchased a microwave that did not work. When we called the Build they took NO responsibility. First said they would send a return label, when I call back to check on the return label was told we can't return merchandise.
There is NO reason to buy from Build, they are simply middlemen with no customer service or responsibility. Drive to a store to make your purchase, as we are learning Kitchen Aid does not do returns. Is that legal? 575.00 wasted.
We bought a Kohler kitchen sink from build.com. They shipped via SAIA LTD. So far they have missed 3 delivery dates. And still not received.
Be careful by large items from build.com because their freight delivery can be awful! Not sure about shipping smaller items.
Buyer beware - This site charges for returns without advising you when you complete the return process. I found out about the shipping charges after the refund was applied to my credit card. I will never shop here again.
Left messages. The product was not as described, instructions were not correct. Looks like the sale agent are all comm based. Before order they will pick up and talk to you nicely and after placing order they vanish
I placed 2 separate orders from Build.com. One was a light fixture, and the other was a ceiling fan. The only issue I have was with the fan. It is listed and marked as oil rubbed bronze, but looks more like flat black. Since it is hung quite high, I decided to keep it, and it looks okay and functions fine. Did not attempt to return it, so I cannot comment on customer service.
I worked with their sales folks for a very big order on a large construction process. They were wonderful to work with and the prices were fair. But I soon learned that they had been dishonest with me about the terms of returns. I escalated to this to the president's office and they used all the corporate jargon you could image to avoid blame and refused to honor what they had told me. Life's too short to deal with people like this, even if the price is good.
Ordered two appliances from build.com. One showed up on time, the other just went into the abyss. Status has said "preparing to ship" for over 3 weeks. I have gone through their customer service and all they do is say someone will investigate and contact me within 24-48 hours.
Never happened. Never communicate etc.
Now my projects is complete and I am still missing the appliance. Thanks alot

Dealing with Ferguson/Build has been terrible. I did not want to use them, but my builder did. We are six months past our move in date and getting updates from Build/Ferguson just go ahead and beat your head against a wall.
Believe the reviews, it is that bad. We have had to purchase duplicates of many items just to get into the home….(dishwasher, bath fixtures in 3 bathrooms) then change out to our selections when they come in. Also we will be moving in without our wall oven, because Build let us order, couldn't get a date repeatedly, it says now June 2022. We should have been in Labor Day 2021…. Do not believe Build/Ferguson on dates until you have in hand unbroken.
Was bombarded by emails from Build.com. Unsubscribed at least three or four times, but they still keep coming. Finally had to block. A high-pressure business model with no interest in customers. Read their reviews and decide if you want to risk doing business with these folks. I won't be.
Very reputable company! I ordered some items for the bathroom remodeling project (Moen shower set and shower drain). Prices are affordable, deals are better than with local stores, shipping is very fast, great communication! Will order from them again. Thank you!
I purchased a sink with build.com using apple pay,,,,, buyer beware! They can't refund my money if there life depended on it. I have been calling with a run around for over two weeks, with all the incorrect information given to me many times.
I'm a building contractor and will never use them again! This is my 3rd bad experience.
Purchased kitchen faucet 4/24 which listed 260 in stock. I received notice that it was delayed to 5/9 and now 5/14. After calling customer services, they did not have an answer and blamed vendor for not keeping up with inventory, yet Build.com has 230 available on site knowing that the item is back ordered. I will never purchase from them. Waisting my time.
Ordered drawer/cabinet pulls from Build.com. Called CS first to ask some questions. Polite, professional, knowledgeable reps. Questions answered quickly in easy to understand way. Easy to navigate website, easy order placement, very reasonable prices compared to local vendors and other online sites. Fast, well packaged delivery. TOTAL SATISFACTION. Recommended to my builder and he now has his new 'go-to' for all things cabinetry.

My order was not shipped out until 6 days after ordered, even though it was a guaranteed 2 day delivery.
Build.com is paralyzed, and cannot intervene in a placed order, even if it is grossly late. They have no capacity to refund an order until their vendors cooperate. True middlemen.
6 calls later, and no refund yet.
This call center model, ordering from other vendors, will frustrate any buyer. Stay away.
Placed order, notified would be filled in TWO (2) months. Have tried to cancel per website and telephone info, never get an operator although a "one minute" wait is assured (over 10 minutes and nothing/no one). On line info to cancel ultimately leads you to the 1-800 number and the cycle-of-nothing resumes. They were ultra fast in billing my PayPal but I'm still trying to cancel. SCAM CRAP company.
Sold us a damaged a Kitchen Aid hood. Dent in the front, clearly dropped on the side during transit. The item was shrink wrapped with no scuffs or scratches. Upon install, we found the marred areas and contacted them and said since our kitchen install was delayed by 10 days, we were out of the return window! Poor customer service. Only wanted to come ya a $150 store credit for a $900 item! These people are thieves
It may be the pro rep that you get assigned but when working with Ace Osborn you should expect greatness. He worked out competitive pricing, researched products that would work in very specific install situations, ensured prompt shipment and followed through with returns and reimbursements on items that did not work out. Clearly, I am a pleased customer and I hope this review helps.
Im shocked at the bad reviews. I ordered doorknobs on their site and found a large selection, clearly described and competitively priced. Much better selection than Home Depot or Lowes. They shipped immediately too. Im very pleased.
Still waiting for the shower door but it is estimated to ship in a few days. Everything else for our bathroom remodel as arrived: Faucet sets (2), Toilet, tank and seat, Towel bars, toilet paper holder and ring bar. Everything is in its factory cartons and looks perfect upon first inspection. The ordering process was pretty easy, Build.com had a great selection at reasonable price points and we couldn't be happier. I doubt anything will need to be returned as we checked and double checked the dimension and specs of everything we ordered prior to finalizing the sale. Very happy overall.
I ordered a front door hardware set May 26,2020. I have contacted three different (now four) agents about the "back order" and received zero results. There is simply no customer care after the sale is made. Jhh

Answer: I don't know how you can actually get them to answer the correct lead time. I received an estimated ship date when I ordered an American Standard faucet. Then, they emailed me 3 more times with delays. I called them after the first delay, and while I was on the phone with the agent, she placed me on hold and called American Standard, and said they told her that there would be no more delays. After this last delay, I called to cancel the order. They said they would "request cancellation" from American Standard. The big problem is they charged my account IMMEDIATELY when I ordered the product, but won't refund the money until American Standard confirms the cancellation. The service agent i spoke with escalated to her supervisor, and the supervisor is the worst person I have ever encountered when dealing with customer service.
Answer: Sorry to hear that. What finish were you trying to match? Usually its best ti use the same brand name when trying to match a finish, such as a Moen faucet to match a Moen towel bar or towel ring. That is because everybody has their own technique of making their products. I wonder if the finish on your new American Standard faucet is doesn't match because the other item you're matching in not made by American Standard. You should be able to return it if it hasn't been installed in any way and you still have the original packaging. The return items page has complete directions that make it fairly easy to send items back. Good Luck! Anthony

While we do have an occasional defect get sent out, we are always quick to send a new one out to the customer.
