I did find a caregiver. But, I thought the site was difficult to navigate. Using the site for the first time was very challenging. I also think it is quite expensive although I didn't know how to find a caregiver any other way besides going through a company and that way you don't always get quality people. So maybe paying a bit more will be worth it in the end. I am hopeful.
I sent a request for pet sitting, however the provider could not accommodate the request, care.com still charged me. There is no phone number and they make it difficult to connect to discuss issues, you email and wait for a response. Horrible customer care
Let's be real and honest about this. If truth were told, Care.com, isn't about caring at all. Not impressed with "up-grade your membership" fee's... very deceptive. Like being pick-pocketed. Be upfront with a menu of membership levels and services.
I'm not a big fan of trial memberships where they give you an introductory offer and then start sticking it to you every month, but it is even more despicable when trying find a resource to assist with an ageing parent. I'm not saying they should not be compensated for their service, but to continue to bilk people on a monthly basis when their accounts are clearly inactive and not using the service is wrong. Judging from the massive number of 1-star ratings complaining about their shady practices, it looks like we are far from alone with our complaint.

I am a retired family physician with extensive experience for part time senior care. Care.com or their computer did not approve of my work history. Laughable but true. My query/feedback got a computer generated answer that I would be referred to the appropriate department. Never happened.
I could not find a phone # to contact them. I cancelled their service after one day. Got a computer generated confirmation. They are $45.00 richer for no service at all. Are there any persons with some compassion or care? Obviously not. Axel
I spent several days making the perfect profile only to find out that unless you pay premium price, people can't reply to your messages! How does that even make sense?
And then I keep getting random messages from people I didn't even apply for. Don't. Just don't. Post an ad on local facebook groups instead.
Hi Holly! It's free to create an account and apply to jobs, but in order for families to reply to your applications, either you or the potential employer has to have Premium membership. If you send an application to someone that has Premium, they'll be able to reply to your application if they wish to even if you only have basic free membership. Hope this helps!
Terrible! None of the jobs I posted got any attention or sitters would set up a time to meet and I would be blown off over and over again. Then I finally hire someone and she fails a drugged test 6 weeks later after being in my home! I drugged tested bc I noticed things missing in my home. She ripped me off. Care.com should screen the sitters/nanny's better. It's very sad that anyone can post a job on here.
We're so sorry to hear about your experience with the caregivers on the site, Jennifer. Please email us at careteam@care.com or message us on Facebook and Twitter so our Safety team can take a further look.
After sending a message with information last night, it was not clear how I would receive a response if there was one. Also did not understand the fee schedule that turned up when I chose to move forward; should be aware of that ahead of time. General information is not detailed enough before checking in.

I have reached out to this member to resolve the issue, but have not heard back. Additional help can be found at https://help.care.com/
This website falsely advertises "unlimited background checks" to consumers to sell them "premium" membership at a high cost. However, their system is very unreliable and hits snags and does not work and they do not have any support staff that are capable of solving problems. In my case after many hours of stressing over not being able to background check nannies for my child and trying to speak and get a resolution to this problem with their support staff, they labeled my issue "resolved" when it is very much not resolved and I still am unable to do the background checks on potential nannies that I have paid for.

This company is low down dirty and foul as they get. I paid for what I thought was a 1 month fee to join and never knew I would be billed every month. No email or alert telling you fees are being charged monthly. I use my card a lot and was looking for another charge and noticed I've been getting charged every month since September! This is a dishonest and sneaky way of doing business. I will have to file a dispute with my bank. Beware! Stay away!
I am very uncomfortable. I'd like to have a chance to talk someone and get clarification. I hoped to pick a few candidates, but the system does not allow me to do that. Also, there was no discount code shown before I paid.
I am already disappointed. Can you improve your image by contacting personally?

I would like to have known that there several add-ons that cost a considerable amount of money ahead of time and wished Care.com had made sort of reference to this before I started the checkout process. It felt misleading and makes me wonder if there are any other hidden costs I will be surprised with.

So far your website seems to be designed to manipulate the consumer into buying potentially unnecessary add-on features to increase the monthly payments. There should be some examples on here of these added features and how they help prior to purchase. People who come here seeking service are likely very vulnerable, both financially and emotionally.
Hi Wes, We are a paid subscription service and not a free service. I'm sorry if you thought otherwise and therefore felt mislead. That was never our intention. Many sites like ours charge a fee in order to be able to offer you the features our site offers. Otherwise we'd just be like any other free classified site with very little to offer.
They automatically bill your credit card but don't really provide services. I posted a job that got ridiculous applications from under qualified applicants thinking they deserved $35-$50 an hour. I scheduled an interview with one girl who was a no call no show for the interview. Care.com has been charging me $40 a month and I haven't even gotten so much as an interview for my posted job, let alone filled the position. This website seems like a scam and a waste of money. They took my money but as far as I can tell, provided no service. Scam!
This website is extremely difficult to use, not sure why you even have free accounts if you can't message caregivers without upgrading? Also, I paid $25 for a care check on my account because I was unable to log in without doing so as I originally was a caregiver on care.com years ago. I am unable to switch my account and after emailing multiple times with no answer I had to make a new account with my husband's email address. On top of all of this, you have NO customer service. No live chat, no phone number. Just a really poorly run website but unfortunately, the only one of its kind.

This company only cares about making money off of parents and sitters, alike. I've sent over 100 messages to different job postings and have gotten about 4 back and zero jobs. This is because parents can't see my messages until they pay for premium. I've paid and they also charged me for a background check that I didn't want. Very disappointing. Go to sittercity and urbansitter instead.
I selected "just browsing" when I first came to care.com but it still made me fill out everything and automatically created a job posting for me. Also, what a shady business- no transparency from the beginning that you'll have to upgrade to message providers. I have signed up for 1 month of the service and then will cancel asap - don't want anything to do with your business.

I had a promo code for a month of free premium membership to Care.com which required you give your credit card info in order to use. I tried the site, found all the people that I interviewed totally not qualified, and decided to cancel. The link to "downgrade" your account doesn't work. I tried it on numerous browsers, my phone, my ipad etc. Never works. They clearly don't want to make it easy for you to cancel. I tried calling... just finding a phone number took a 30 min google search. And I was never able to speak to a real person. My frustration level is through the roof. I sent an email and if I don't hear back within 24 hours I am calling the better business bureau and registering complaints EVERYWHERE I can. I sincerely hope this business fails. I also noticed that the Care.com representatives stopped commenting a few months ago. I guess they ran out of excuses.
Tip for consumers:
STAY AWAY.
Hello D, we apologize for the inability to cancel your subscription. There was definitely an error on our end when the free promo codes were rolled out, causing a bug that did not allow members to downgrade their accounts. Feel free to message me your email address and I will be more than happy to look into this and assist you!
Just as I suspected, care.com is a complete scam. Paid 45. For nothing. Wasted my time putting together my profile. Had high hopes, and after applying to over 30 adds, never received one response. At a time when I'm desperate for work, it's very frustrating. Save your time and and effort.
The website does not work at all when you register. Also when you apply to a job it never goes where it is suppose to. I've talked to a number of people that have never seen my response. They only want money and don't care how they get it. You'd be better off advertising on Facebook for free
The only good thing about this site is that I found 1 good job through it. Other than that it's absolutely ridiculous how much money they take from you. There are more people with fake profiles trying to get your personal information than there are real people looking for employees. And apparently if you want to cancel your subscription they charge you an additional $60. I had a profile for 4 month. And was only able to get 1 job after all the time and no at I put into it. I would advice everyone to stay far away from this site.
The customer experience is awful, it is not good that in order to hire someone you have to become and pay for the membership, thats false advertisement. I understand about premium and fees on applications but at least there should be a level of leave people hire for services on a smaller selection or assigned by you guys
Hi Tyrone, We are a paid subscription service and not a free service. I'm sorry if you thought otherwise and therefore felt mislead. That was never our intention. Many sites like ours charge a fee in order to be able to offer you the features our site offers. Otherwise we'd just be like any other free classified site with very little to offer.
Do not even bother. I wish I had looked for reviews first. And if you have used it, then cancel and cancel your credit card that they were using. Total Fraud! We signed up as parents looking for a care provider and although we received generic auto-responses from all over, not from anyone that had actually read our ad or that wanted the position.
I have NEVER EVER been able to get a damn job from this site! The latest was last night when I answered yet another ad. As instructed, they asked for a call back number. I even included my email address. So, the dude does call me. I call back. Not only does the jerk put his partner (?) on the line but then garbled we have it covered. There was NO job! Yet again, another scam. I love the voice mails if I get any from people that say they are moving to my area and will be sending me money to set up their household. I don't know what is wrong with this company! I thought it was legit. They ONLY thing I did pay for was a back ground check. What I will not do is PAY for a premium upgrade. I seriously wonder about this site. For someone looking to bring in some spending money (and can't get a job otherwise), I thought this site was the way to go. WHAT A JOKE! I'm disgusted with care.com My assessment: STAY AWAY!
I have been both a consumer and a provider on this site. I've had the most reviews out of all of the providers because I've had years of positive experiences. Overnight, my account was deleted by someone without warrant, or due process. It's heartbreaking that anybody can falsify allegations & you pay the price. Mind you... from a home that was never even visited.
Never active your credit card for any subscription. If you subscribe once they will charge you every month for no reason. They just charged me the 3rd transaction and this is not acceptable. I am changing my credit card to get rid of this ridiculous website and their random transactions.
Disappointing!

You sent me a coupon code when I registered for 10% off my "upgrade". When I applied, it said it was an invalid code. There are so many extras to pay for. We only need 4 days of service for respite care--so far 44.00 just to see if anyone is available.
