I did find a caregiver. But, I thought the site was difficult to navigate. Using the site for the first time was very challenging. I also think it is quite expensive although I didn't know how to find a caregiver any other way besides going through a company and that way you don't always get quality people. So maybe paying a bit more will be worth it in the end. I am hopeful.
I sent a request for pet sitting, however the provider could not accommodate the request, care.com still charged me. There is no phone number and they make it difficult to connect to discuss issues, you email and wait for a response. Horrible customer care
Had an account that was closed by care.com without even telling me why! I just had an interview with a family on Friday and seemed that I was going to get hired. Now I have no contact other than knocking on their door but who would do such a thing.
Very upset with this company and the way they handle their business. I have plenty of years of experience with children, preschool teacher and nanny experience.
Do not even bother with care.com. They are the worst!
My wife was trying to look for a nanny position and she almost fell for a scam where a lady who is supposedly from Canada was moving over to our city. The "lady" gave her this whole story about how her 5 year old daughter was caught in a car accident with her dad and that her dad died. As a result, her daughter was stuck in a wheel chair.
Afterwards, she told my wife to give her our details so she can send us a check to order this electric wheelchair. Long story short, I came into the picture and smelled a scam. I reverse searched the pictures she sent, and found out that the pictures are from totally complete stories on other ends of the country.
There was only one way that this "lady" found my wife's phone number, and that was through care.com. Stay away from this site. Stay away from it like the plague.
It would be nice when creating a job that you have the choice (check box option) to post it across different section, instead of posting multiple jobs (e.g. Three jobs in my case). Just a thought. Have a great day!
Account set up was terrible, posted a job I didn't know that was what I was doing. THEN, too not even allow users to see or communicate with 1 or 2 applications without a charge is a waste of time. I decide even though I'm not happy with the product so far I will see if the experience is better once I have paid for subscription. Then after 4 tries on one card I switch to another. That one goes through ohhh wait it takes me to another page asking me to add in another $60…. I decline and then get a message that the request didn't go through. And to contact care.com…. I hope the ppl you let on your site/app are better then your service.

You ask for payment too early on, before I understand what you offer. You have way too many peripheral ads (daycare, insurance, blah, blah) before the transaction goes true. This reduces confidence that your going to address my precise problem.

I'm off to a good start but I don't like having no choice about the upgrade which includes auto-renewal. This becomes more of a problem for me to manage as a senior citizen. Looking forward to finding a wonderful candidate.

I am attempting to sign up for services, but after inputting my card info, there was a site error. This makes me uneasy, as I am nervous to try again and find out my card is charged twice or something.

Error when attempting to put credit card information in and not sure if it went through or not because the error message was too general. Also, it's 2022 so you could allow people to pay with Paypal and apple pay.

The worst experience for my first time accessing any child care company online! I have wrote several people regarding services and have not received any correspondence! I downgraded last month and some how was still charged by this fraud company. I wish I had simply googled reviews for care.com to learn how horrible the services actually are! They charge fees for nothing!
Information about registering and details of how Care.com works is hard to find until you have been directed down the path to make important decisions which leads to more questions. Caregiver profiles are great and the messaging system is good.

I placed an accurate ad and then was routed through a series of screens to essentially force an upgrade of services. I selected the basic service and still cannot see who replied to my post. Poor business on your part.
I signed up for a premium subscription for a quarter since there is no other way to view the applications received or to contact the applicants. I used a 20% off promo code to reduce the cost and saw the deduction on my invoice. After inputting my payment details, I proceeded with the payment. When my active subscription details were displayed, I noticed first payment date was 3/28/22 which is today's date, okay. Then I saw the first payment amount was higher than $63. Xx amount I agreed to pay on the previous page! I am on a fixed income as is my mother (who needs this care) and cannot afford to be taken advantage of. I started to cancel the premium but decided I would bring it to your attention and request an explanation or adjustment asap. You may contact me via email or mobile number on the account. Thank you in advance for your prompt attention.

The list of deficiencies is so long! I have been sending screenshots of website errors all day to their tech department. It is the site from hell. Complete waste of money and time. And, they are almost completely unavailable for any feedback. They used to be a decent site years ago, but in the last two years they are truly terrible! People who didn't apply for the my job have called me, and the website posted that I hired someone who didn't even apply!
My husband finally noticed a recurring payment to cci: care.com $42 a month, the premium plan! We paid this for 14 months. We don't have kids, no dogs or no elderly people that need care. Somehow I was signed up for this service. Almost impossible to figure out how to cancel this charge. Even going through the site map didn't give an option for cancelling. I finally found instructions online on how to cancel membership in this fraudulent company. First I had to downgrade my membership from premium to basic. After that was done, I found a link to cancel. They took over $500 of our money for no services. Shame on us for not noticing, but shame on them for fraudulently signing people up for this without their permission.
Care.com does not allow communications when applying for positions unless continual upgrade fees are paid. Seems to be a large amount of misrepresentation of what Care.com truly offers to all clients.
Why would a potential apply who does not meet the requirement ie this is a night job and caregiver is only available daytime -- so the fault I have is that there should be default to avoid non conformance with requirement

I find your site to be predatory and unclear in the way it works. This may be by design, but it is design that does not center the user's experience. Having a job posting automatically go live without the opportunity to consider/edit, and then having to sign up (far along in the process) for a premium membership to even see folks who respond is poor practice. I understand you need to make money, but that should be clearer.
Hello Lela, I am sorry for your frustration, The free membership gives you a chance to try our services in case you weren’t ready to commit to purchasing a Premium Membership when you first visited Care.com. I do like it, but there should be a way to have an address option save if you are looking for care for someone other than yourself. During the search process, have to redo zip code frequently if not the address on file.
Also, would be great to have a filter option in search that lets one know if folks are "available" or not. Many profiles list they are not available in description, but show up in search feed. Waste of time.
Hi Shauna, Thank you for your feedback! I will be sure to share these insights with our product team.
The site was useful and helpful until without notice my account was terminated and an email stating that users can removed from the site at the sites discretion. Upon attempting to find out a reason from customer service on the phone I received the response that representatives are not allowed to give a reason for termination of a customers account. I was told to look at the faqs. I had already looked through the faqs and could find no reasonable explanation. It seems it would be helpful to offer customers a way to rectify any violations or explain their side to clear any misunderstandings. Very disappointing.
I signed up for an hour. I tried to cancel because my niece called wanting to watch my son and they refuse to give me a refund. I paid $175 to sign up and no other services used. You can only find care if you sign up. They refused to give me a refund even though in the sign up it says you can cancel anytime. I will never use this service again and I hope other people stay away. There are way better options out there to find care. They will just steal your money.

This site really needs to require people posting jobs to have a Premium account.
The problem I see is that they let potential employers post a job ( I guess to try to hook and bait them), but the same potential employers must first upgrade to a premium account to see application messages that I've replied to them with.
This is ridiculous as 90% of my messages are 'delivered', yet never read or seen. If I'm paying you for my premium account monthly, then I want to at least know my messages are being seen. I understand it's my responsibility to follow up on messages but at least give us a higher percentage of messages seen.
Stop Letting People Without Premium Accounts Post Jobs! I'm betting the site would be a lot more effective!
Care.com has taken $480.00 from me after signing up for one month, even after I cancelled the subscription. There was no prospective employers on the site, and I did not get any work from it. They continued to withdraw money from my account for TWO YEARS! Stay away from this site, try others like indeed, or local companies. Terrible that companies like this will take money from people who are looking for work, typical scam artists posing as a "employment agency" STAY AWAY!
Tip for consumers:
Don't be fooled!
I've been advertising my house cleaning services on this site for years and I've never gotten a job from them. I've gotten offers from employers who want to pay half as much as I charge!
Forget it- if you're that tight you don't value your time OR mine.
Go to Craigslist it's FREE and I've gotten dozens upon dozens of jobs. And all of them for my going rate!
Hello everyone, I have a Question, this is my first Time I'll be working as a babysitter who I don't know yet, they just text me, and said available for the 2 sons, she's from Texas process of moving to my area next month, do u think it's a scam!? She said the net pay is $25 hour! I'm so confused if I should continue the process.
Hi Alicia, It's not common or recommended that a Care.com member would text you without having first initiated communication through the site. And, unfortunately, another red flag is that the pay rate seems a bit too good to be true. If this person offers to send you money without having met you, or asks for any banking information, we would not recommend moving forward with that offer. If you do conclude that this is an internet scam, please report this to our Member Care team at 877-227-3115 or careteam@care.com, or you can even message me privately!
I just wanted to let everyone know that this company is a scam just to get your credit card and charge you $44.00 dollars a month so be really careful and make sure you read all the fine print. They rip me off for over a $1000. 00 for not paying attention to my credit card statements. Just going on every site I can to let everyone know what a piece of crap company care.com is I really don't think I need you help with that since you company has a rating of 2 out of 5 stars Thanks Jeff Davis
