I did find a caregiver. But, I thought the site was difficult to navigate. Using the site for the first time was very challenging. I also think it is quite expensive although I didn't know how to find a caregiver any other way besides going through a company and that way you don't always get quality people. So maybe paying a bit more will be worth it in the end. I am hopeful.
I sent a request for pet sitting, however the provider could not accommodate the request, care.com still charged me. There is no phone number and they make it difficult to connect to discuss issues, you email and wait for a response. Horrible customer care
I just wanted to let everyone know that this company is a scam just to get your credit card and charge you $44.00 dollars a month so be really careful and make sure you read all the fine print. They rip me off for over a $1000. 00 for not paying attention to my credit card statements. Just going on every site I can to let everyone know what a piece of crap company care.com is I really don't think I need you help with that since you company has a rating of 2 out of 5 stars Thanks Jeff Davis
Advertise all kinds of help, never tell you anything about monthly payments or anything until after you set up your profile and either try to send a message or if you receive one. Can't read it until you pay them. That's all well and good if you want people to pay for a service but y'all need to be upfront about it. Shame on you. People out here need help, not you trying to nickle and dime us all to death.
By the way, there are FREE websites you can find childcare on... So... Care.com go *$&@ yourself
Tip for consumers:
Stay away unless you have money you're ok with going to waste.
I am beyond disappointed with this company. We paid their $39 monthly service fee to try to find a nanny for our children. We paid the money, and within an hour Care.com terminated our account with no explanation. They still debited our account and have refused to return any emails or communications. This company might not be a scam, but they have horrible customer service, horrible account management, and are more than happy to take your money, terminate your account with no services rendered, and then completely ignore you.
Tip for consumers:
Do not use Care.com
After paying their fee I was met with zero customer service, with zero jobs.
I applied to every single job they had on the entire site, in every category and not one job came my way.
And no customer service to help or explain anything.
I had a great resume and I find work in these fields on my own with ease.
This site is just a money grabber. Isn't any actual work offered, they just post up these jobs to fool people into paying for their site.
Now you know.
Anyone who says different just works for the company.

I paid $47 per month for 6 months, and sent out over 20 emails to the nannies listed, but only got 2 response, and they looked like the nanny created by the computer instead of real one. After generic conversation with them, you never get any more response when you are trying to get to details.
Thanks God, I find mine and finally cancelled this GREAT service! Really think this is created by a IT person instead of real nannies.
I have used Care.com about 3 times in the past. It still remains the same. The help that is decent are going to school, so will not work for you long. The ones that are incompetent are the ones that are available. They cancel at the last minute and numerous times. This last time, I thought maybe it would be different but it wasnt. Very unreliable. They dont do a real background check and want you to pay for it. It is worth it to do an agency that screens and trains, plus has backup help if the person cancels. Never again for Care.com.
It does not work correctly! Constantly showing me an error message when I try and check responses. I've tried 5 times up edit and update my personal info and it will not save it. An ad I posted years ago has begun posting same I'm getting replies for it and it's not what my needs are today. Very frustrating

Isn't it funny that almost every bad review on here is about the auto renewal. This is such a bad feature to have on any company website. It is very misleading and it is also such a struggle to find where you can actually cancel the automatic renewal service. How about actually giving the customer a heads up right before the credit card is going to be automatically charged? Of course not. That's the scam. I've been using care.com off and on for many years and I've paid my dues and the one time I mistakenly did not cancel in time they absolutely refused to give me a refund. Times are very hard right now with inflation in every single area and they wouldn't budge. I absolutely refuse to use the service any longer.

Hello Michele, We appreciate your review. We'll be sure to share your feedback with our management team.
Do NOT spring on me things like birthdate or not allow me to see who replies to our ad. Also the automatic renewal when all I am doing is trying to find a care giver for my mom is slimy. We should be able to say how long our contract with you last and it should automatically expire in the time frame I listed which is 1 month. You counting on people forgetting and not reading the fine print is trolling and making money off of people who sign up for a limited subscription and you just take and take and take. This practice is unconscionable. This site feels like a scam but unfortunately I already put a listing on it.
Hello Kathy, We appreciate your feedback. I'm sorry to hear you feel our subscription service is dishonest. Our service is by subscription so members have the convenience of using their premium benefits whenever they need them. However, they can always cancel through their account or by reaching out to our Member Care team at any time. Our Member Care team can be reached via the Contact Us link in our Help Center found at help.care.com or through our Facebook Messenger. If you'd like to discuss further please reach out to us and include Reference Number REV-007501.
It has only been a few days but signed up and haven't heard back from many applicants. Maybe it was a falseness of the advertisements about wow if I sign up a lot of people will message me? Hoping this site is worth it in the end.
Hi Jessica, So sorry to hear you didn't have any luck with our service. If you'd like us to take a look at your account and see where we can help, please each out to us through our Help Center contact us link at help.care.com or via Facebook messenger. I've gotten some great jobs from this site, which has nothing to do with the site and everything to do with the families looking for help. This site is such a rip off. All of a sudden people can't reply to your messages unless you pay for the site. Care.com will do anything and everything in their power to get money from people. They need a wake up call, because not everyone is on this site for full time jobs. Some of us just want to make some extra cash to make ends meet, and actually LOVE doing it on the side.
The fee for care.com "services" is ridiculous! Whatever you do, don't forget to cancel your entire account once you've found your caregiver. The "customer service" is worthless. I don't trust that they won't continue to charge my account for something I've canceled. Nothing but a sorry hustle.

They think you will pay $25.00+ per month to find a pet sitter! I paid the money, thought i found a pet sitter for one weekend. So spoke with her on phone, agreed on meeting date and time by text. So then stopped the 25/mo thing because it is outrageous ly expensive and I had paid it and thought i had a stop in sitter for my cat. Then the sitter was a no show, and now i have nothing for my money and they want another 35 dollars to speak to other sitters. Total rip off. AVOID.
My issue with Care.com is that after 6 PM and on weekends no one can provide help with their website. If you have an issue sending messages or receive messages from potential nannies or caregivers you cannot resolve the situation until Monday at 10 AM or before 6 PM. So I missed out on three dates of services with no restitution from Care.com. Unacceptable!'
This website should be put down. It is a disrespect to people. You're supposed to invest money in order to get jobs but you don't get any jobs which makes me think that most posts there are fake. They are basically making money by ripping people off, and the worst thing is, these are people who are trying to work to pay their bills.
I answered an ad for a part time nanny position. I went to work for her 4 children, 7 year old 2 year old twins and a baby. The parents have not paid me as agreed. In fact they owe me $1000. I would like to warn other potential care givers to not answer this families request for care givers but care.com does not make it easy to file a claim.
I have been with them for over five years now and have worked for four families who found me on here. It's hard to find work in the field of Caregiving and I am thankful finding this site and for helping the families find me. I am not sure why there are so many negative reviews but my experience has been a good one.
Tip for consumers:
They always give me a choice to upgrade or downgrade. You must downgrade to the free membership if you do not want to be charged for another month.
Hi Susan - We're so happy to hear you have been able to find some great families! We completely agree that it can be difficult to find jobs, but like any position you are looking for it is important to do everything you can to make yourself stand out above other applicants. Congrats on all your hard work, and best wishes going forward!
I signed up for membership at $240.00 per year. I cannot afford this cost so I must cancel. Also I just received an email giving me a generous discount. I only need someone to clip my cat's nails and brush her as I have a difficult time taking her out. But I am sorry I cannot afford the price. So I will be cancelling.

This is the first time I'm going outside of family and friends to watch my kids so I'm a bit nervous. The initial set up was very helpful in walking me through creating my profile and looking at potential caregivers. So far so good! Now I just need to hear back from the caregivers I messaged!

Care used to be decent until recently when they make you pay for everything! I can't apply to jobs anymore without paying and even people posting jobs have to pay eventually. Plus, it's rare to even get a job from there. I hope everyone stops using it and they see how they screwed up big time!
Many potential caregiver profiles, all look good. Many of them have an answering rate of 100%, according to the website. Until you pay the monthly fee to be able to contact them. Almost nobody answers, and it turns out that most of the people with an answering rate of 100% have not even been online for months.
I have written more than 100 messages, looking for a nanny for the kids. Received 2 answers, of people that had found a family already. So after putting much money and effort in it, I can tell this website is an absolute scam.
My nanny never signed up for the auto draft account so I was paying the service and Care.com took the money but the nanny was never paid. Tried to cancel the service multiple times and the system will log you out anytime you try. The chat feature only sometimes works and there is no phone number listed online to call. They ignore you when you ask for your credit card to be deleted from the system. They say they have to keep it on file until the end of the billing cycle, that they charge you in advance quarterly for. Then you account is charged again and somehow your account is back to active. This is fraud, shameful fraud.
Hi Amanda, I'm so sorry to hear that you were not aware that our memberships auto renew until cancelled. Issues with paying for service. Payment page was down when I tried logging in several different times last week.
It had appeared that several people had responded to my post, but when I finally was able to pay and log in, there were 0 responses. Very disappointed to see as I need to find someone quickly.

Seems a little shady, to not inform people up front that they will have to pay to reach out to individual caregivers. It's difficult enough to think of leaving someone you love, who is vulnerable, with a stranger. But to go to a site that's not %100 truthful from the get-go... feels like a shakedown, frankly.
Hello Danielle, We are a paid subscription service and not a free service. I'm sorry if you thought otherwise and therefore felt mislead. That was never our intention. Many sites like ours charge a fee in order to be able to offer you the features our site offers. Otherwise we'd just be like any other free classified site with very little to offer.
After complaining about care.com and receiving a class action lawsuit settlement check for the misuse of my personal information, guess what? I was terminated from the site after many years off and on with them. Always great reviews and I have met so many great families from accepting jobs on care.com. I work for three families presently. This company doesn't have to tell you why they terminated you but they send you a message saying that it could have been for numerous negative issues, theft, mistreating a client etc. I made so many great relationships that I don't care what care.com tells everyone I have ever had contact with that I am terminated, elude to a negative incident etc. They are a money grubbing scam.
