I did find a caregiver. But, I thought the site was difficult to navigate. Using the site for the first time was very challenging. I also think it is quite expensive although I didn't know how to find a caregiver any other way besides going through a company and that way you don't always get quality people. So maybe paying a bit more will be worth it in the end. I am hopeful.
I sent a request for pet sitting, however the provider could not accommodate the request, care.com still charged me. There is no phone number and they make it difficult to connect to discuss issues, you email and wait for a response. Horrible customer care
You can't view messages after going through time and trouble creating an account and a job posting. That's just not cool. Be more transparent. You're also crazy expensive for what should be a free website with ads. It's a paid subscription with ads. You would have so much more traffic.
After complaining about care.com and receiving a class action lawsuit settlement check for the misuse of my personal information, guess what? I was terminated from the site after many years off and on with them. Always great reviews and I have met so many great families from accepting jobs on care.com. I work for three families presently. This company doesn't have to tell you why they terminated you but they send you a message saying that it could have been for numerous negative issues, theft, mistreating a client etc. I made so many great relationships that I don't care what care.com tells everyone I have ever had contact with that I am terminated, elude to a negative incident etc. They are a money grubbing scam.
I bought into it for a month, and when they enticed me to pay a months membership for a reduced price I did. I soon realised that being able to send a message to a particular person makes no difference whatsoever! You still get no replies, but to keep up the charade, they email you to tell you about other ads that have come on the site. Don't bother with them. They are making lots of money for doing nothing! They don't refund money you have paid (they take it from your bank account anyway). I wanted to try the service you would normally pay £10 for, as they were offering it for £7 for the one month. I was shocked to see they had taken £10 out the next month too. Make sure you tell them in good time when you want to cancel, would be my advice. It's a big rip off.
They allow you to select a 30 day job posting (which costs more than a 2 or three month posting), but bury in the fine print the the 30 day fee is "auto renewing". Took me three months before I noticed it on my credit card. Refusing to refund. SCAM!
I used them for 3 months then tried to quit in January. They keep charging me and there is no way to get through to customer service. I've lost over $300 so far!
Update 10-3-21:
After tweeting a review they contacted me and after I insisted, they refunded my money.
Tip for consumers:
The caregivers they referred me to were mostly ok, but once they have your credit card they refuse to give you a way to unsubscribe and they keep on charging your credit card! I even deleted the application! I am going to have to lock that credit card. You cannot contact them!

Reference for senior caregiver.
I had no idea the taxes or system that we would end up paying was going to be an additional expense, and I had already paid for a subscription and realized this is too much money for a nanny. We'll figure it out o within the family for this price.

Care.com closed my account because there was an issue with how I entered my address. Absolutely absurd thing to do without any further effort to clarify. I created a new account but I'm fully expecting it to be shut down again and have my premium subscription be a complete waste
Hi Timothy, If your account was closed, it most likely means you do not meet our eligibility guidelines. If you paid for a subscription and were closed immediately after, the system most likely issued you a refund, however it does sometimes take up to a week to process through your bank. If you'd like for us to confirm the refund, please reach out to us through the contact us link at help.care.com, give us a call via the phone number listed on your credit card statement, or through Facebook Messenger. Please include Reference Number REV-011552 in your response.
I thought I was paying for a 3 month subscription back in 2015. The card I used to pay for the subscription is one I never use, but have been trying to pay down. It was at least a year later that I realized Care.com has been billing me every 3 months. It's a consumer scam of the highest order. Care.com needs to be investigated and a class action lawsuit should be brought. Let me if your are interested in suing.
As stated in our Terms of Use and twice on the upgrade page when you had initially signed up, all of our subscriptions automatically renew until cancelled. This is a setting you can edit at any point after upgrading in your Account & Settings page by selecting the Downgrade option. We apologize if you misunderstood our billing policies, but do hope you were able to find the care you were looking for. Feel free to email us at careteam@care.com if you'd like us to review your account and see what we can do. Best wishes!
Charged me for a monthly subscription even though I ordered a 1-month subscription. I'm sure it was written in the fine print somewhere that they would continue to charge you unless you cancelled, but I find it unscrupulous that they are not more transparent about this. I would use another service if possible.
In the customer journey, the additional costs for "extra" services like unlimited background checks feels like care.com is trying to pressure and squeeze every cent out of me. To me, this is a bad business practice, just charge more up front with a full product offering i.e all services included. It is surprising care.com does not know it's customer lifetime value and feels the need to charge for these additional services. I hope this helps. Thank you.
Hi Jake, I am sorry you are frustrated with the add-on offers. Care.com offers a variety of features to accommodate the needs of all our members. I haven't even gotten as far as some, I just love animals & wanted to HELP others with theirs and instead you CHARGE people just to APPLY? What a crock! I've been listed on Rover.com for years & never paid a dime. This is awful PR... "care.com"... really? Do you? People are out there trying to make a few extra bucks & you want to CHARGE them just to apply? That is awful. Makes me want to start a site just like yours but not charge to apply for jobs... competition is the key, right? You should be ashamed!
Terrible interface. Was hoping this would be easier to navigate like Rover. Checked one sitter to make sure they had availability all three days that we needed and booked the first date and now they don't have availability on the third day so we have to use two different sitters for the coverage.
Thank you for your feedback and I'm so sorry to hear that you didn't have a positive experience with the site. Few month ago I got a message from someone called Stephen( from California)! This is the person who send fake checks for your service. He talks about an apartment he will move and he will pay in advance for your cleaning service. He also says that a landlord will pay you. I see another post asking for a housekeeper, paying $300 for a cleaning, under name Mark P. From Los Angeles, California, today 04/21/17. Be careful! He wanted to deposit those checks in your account and send cash to him or his landlord!
Thief people!
Care.com has an option available for families to rate a caregiver out of 5 stars and leave a review, but what about us caregivers reviewing and rating the families we work for? I have had some stories that I believe should be shared. Nothing horrible, but there are some things I am sure other caregivers would want to know before applying with or working with a family. I really think this should be an added feature. I mean, we have glassdoor for employees and former employees to leave reviews about certain companies they've worked for. I think care.com should have a version of the same within the site.
ZERO STARS. If you are doing this in CANADA NOTE: they have no direct customer service. It is all done by an answering service that DOES NOT respond. I had to call the US customer service line (which has real people answering) and beg them to have someone BEG the Canadian people to respond to me. Still no answer.
Here is my issue: I tried to renew my subscription but the account had the wrong zip code. It would not let me set it to the right one. I didn't realize this until I tried to make payment 3 times.
To my surprise, with the WRONG zip code it still was able to take my payment all three times. BUT, I still never got access to the site to check the pending messages from the nannies I was contacting.
No harm, no foul, I figured I'd call in and get it handled. That's when I found out that the customer service was for the US accounts only, and Canadian accounts were routed to an abyss they called a "voice mail". Multiple voice mails and days later, no answer. Finally, I decided to beg the US people to think of WHO internally they could talk to that had any idea how to dredge up someone from this Canadian "voice mail" land. Still waiting...
I've been on this site for a year and never received any responses to all of the numerous applications I submitted for various jobs. Eventually, the light bulb went off. If I don't continually purchase all their extras, then they never really submit your applications. I realized this after seeing in tiny print at the bottom of one of my messages to "upgrade to allow so-and-so to respond to this message". What? This was NEVER made clear. Apparently, if you don't purchase all their extras... you're invisible.
Hi Tonya. Your applications are sent to members regardless of your membership status. However, in order for them to reply, either you or they have to upgrade to Premium membership. I apologize if you haven't received any responses from potential clients, I thought this article might be helpful; http://tinyurl.com/zum4fvj.
This company is illegal. They really should be stopped by law enforcement.
I purchase a one time membership. They kept auto renewing my membership and charging my credit card without notifying me.
It was impossible to get through to a human being over the phone. They responded to my written inquiry stating that they don't issue a refund. I didn't authorize the payment to begin with, and I am not asking them to refund money that I agreed to pay them. They are a group of thieves. They really should be arrested. The whole service is a scam.
Although I did not log in after the first month. Clearly I did not even know I was an active member past the first month but got billed for 4 months. I asked for a 3 month credit and was offered 1 month (current month credit) Auto renewals are deceptive despite what is disclaimed on order pages. I elected a "1 month subscription" and view an auto renewal beyond that as just a way to get more money out of any overwhelmed and unsuspecting caretaker of a sick or dying family member. Very underhanded business methods.
Not very user friendly - the website keeps asking me for the same information over and over again but then gives me 1 result for a care center that doesn't even serve children my child's age. It seems odd to put in a birthdate and then be given search results that don't apply. Very frustrated I paid for this and am not able to locate care options.

It is difficult to take in quickly. Have some questions that I cannot find answers to. The basic membership is high and then you get other screens pop up as you investigate further. I did sign up for a premium membership without the extras on an annual basis. Who do I contact at care in my area to answer my questions?
I set up a profile to secure childcare for my first born. However we decided to go with family and did not use these services. I didn't realize I had agreed to a quarterly fee of $78 until after almost 1.5 year of them charging my credit card. I requested a refund because it's clear I did not use the service and my request was rejected. BE AWARE!
Hi Carla! Our refund guidelines is, we're able to refund last charge within the past 30 days after the first auto renewal. Please email us at careteam@care.com or message us on Facebook or Twitter so we could look into your account and see if you qualify for a refund. Hope to hear from you soon!
Care.com is a scam! My company signed up and not ONE applicant ever responded to our job posting. Additionally, we have been trying to cancel for almost 2 months and we can't get anyone on the phone and the payments continue to come out of our banking account. We plan to move forward with further actions against this company. Please do not sign up, this is a fraud!
I apologize for your frustrations, Rusan. Please email us at careteam@care.com or message us on Facebook or Twitter and one of our member care representative can help you cancel your Premium membership. Hope to hear from you soon!
The message I got was that this is a free service but I keep getting a bill of $154.00 a year I also cannot go out then come back to see if I've had any responses. This doesn't help me search for help
Hi Cynthia, We are a paid subscription service and not a free service. I'm sorry if you thought otherwise and therefore felt mislead. That was never our intention. Many sites like ours charge a fee in order to be able to offer you the features our site offers. Otherwise we'd just be like any other free classified site with very little to offer. Flat rate prices for the day week. Details on min or max children they can care for. Also min and max hours they are seeking for a weekly family. Any allergies? (Mostly house hold) thank you! I pray this works out for us!

I am so $#*!ing angry at this app. It used to be so simple and they changed it with the change I lost all my reviews and validations from people I've worked with for 10 years. It's way harder to navigate the app now and I get FALSE $#*!ING AD TEXTS with misinformation about the actual job listing. It's very frustrating and it's harder to find a job and communicate with people on it since they've changed the app. I'd give it a negative 5 stars. No help with customer service either. They've ruined the experience for me.
