I did find a caregiver. But, I thought the site was difficult to navigate. Using the site for the first time was very challenging. I also think it is quite expensive although I didn't know how to find a caregiver any other way besides going through a company and that way you don't always get quality people. So maybe paying a bit more will be worth it in the end. I am hopeful.
I sent a request for pet sitting, however the provider could not accommodate the request, care.com still charged me. There is no phone number and they make it difficult to connect to discuss issues, you email and wait for a response. Horrible customer care
I had no idea what to expect, but with my whole heart I congratulate you on your accomplishments. I worked in internet business development for years and have always wondered how you would be able to impact a high-touch industry.
Could be easier to narrow caregiver search by area, not just mileage radius - we live on an island and don't want to include Seattle caregivers in our search. Also wish we could easily search other job postings, so we didn't have to recreate the wheel in writing ours. Takes multiple clicks to view caregivers we tagged as "favorites." Would help to allow multiple users to manage a household account with Care.com, rather than share a single login.

Hi Matt!
Thank you for sharing your feedback! I will note this for you! Please message me if you have an further questions!
So far, this is a terrible experience. I set up an account and needed to add my wife for her to look as well and it looks like there's only 1 user allowed. I then tried to change the account to her e-mail address because she will take over the process which doesn't appear possible. This is either not a parent friendly site or just very confusing to navigate.
Thank you so much for your feedback; we really appreciate your sharing your experience with us. If the last name is the same, you can put both first names on the account, but you would not be able to transfer an account from one persons name to another. We'd be happy to try to assist if you want to reach out to us through our Help Center contact us link at help.care.com or through Facebook Messenger. My child care business has been on Care.com for years with great reviews. Today I had a parent who has been here only two weeks call me and say he wants a refund because his wife wants a friend to babysit. I told him I don't give refunds, but i will let him give one week notice instead of two. He told me that he would report me to Care.com if I did not refund his money. Forty-five minutes later I received an email saying my membership has been terminated from the site and no reason will be given. Really? That's how you treat your customers?
Even when you sign up for ONE MONTH they will continue to charge you. What's the point of having a 1 month subscription option?! And good luck finding a phone number to call or a "member care" option. Apparently they don't screen any of their providers bc my inbox was filled with responses that were ads for a different babysitting company. Go figure!
Tip for consumers:
If you need a babysitter, ask your friends or network through facebook. Your chances of finding someone are much better.
Hi Pam, I'm sorry if you missed our auto renewal feature, our members find it helpful in continuing their search for care. Moreover, we allow different nannies and child care business to promote their services. If you ever need to reach out to us, feel free to contact Member Care at 877-227-3115 and they will be happy to help!
Apparently care.com supports a "pet-sitting" service named "Save-A-Paws", run by Angela and Bob Fawcett. I paid an employee of Save-A-Paws $150 to walk my dogs twice a day for 5 days. However, the employee never walked them nor did she ever return my key. Angela texted me that she would return my money but never did.
The company Care.com states that they cannot help me since I am not a "listed member on the account". Hmmm. Perhaps in court they can explain to me what this means.
I was looking for a care partner to help care for my mother. I reached out to at least 12 candidates and did not receive one response, even from the people that reached out to me. I suspect that the site uses bots and they are scammers just like Ashley Madison. Further, they charged another three month subscription fee after I had cancelled. I disputed with my credit card - will see how this seemingly unethical company handles.
Unless you like calling your credit card company to file stop payments and disputes don't hand them your CC information. Just look at the reviews here and on trust pilot, it doesn't paint a pretty picture about the trustworthiness of this company.
Their purchasing system is misleading, they'll take you through the ringer before indicating you have to pay, when you do pay it is unclear that it is a subscription service. When you realize it's a subscription service and contact them to cancel, they'll promptly ignore your requests. They attempt to hoodwink you every step of the way.
We submitted a request for a cancellation and a refund. Never heard back and sure enough months later are still being billed.
They'll cry that "if you look at our terms of service" etc but it doesn't explain why they feel justified in ignoring customers requests to cancel/refund.
Just stay away, and find another service.
We have paid fees monthly to Care.com for 7 years. Never missed a payment. We didn't offer someone a job after she threatened us and walked out- and complained to them. Then, just like that, they terminated us!
How are we supposed to find care for our 3 kids? Meanwhile, the crazy woman who probably complained about us can still find work in childcare?
Terrible organization.
I need to find caregiver help; however, I almost feel this whole system is a scam. You are basically using bait and switch techniques. If I signed up for three months, why does my bill jump from around $75.00 per month to approx $128.00? Why even offer a free service when it provides nothing. You need to do a better job because I simply do not trust your system!

At first it seemed good. I filled out the various questions and was presented a list of senior care givers. I took a premium subscription. Foolishly, I was duped into thinking an email would be sent to these people I reviewed and selected. Obviously, I do not understand how this website works! Nor is it explained. You falsely lead people into a relationship with Care.com. I am SO disappointed.

A year ago I upgraded our preschool's listing from the free listing to the premium listing for a monthly fee. We did get about two referrals a month, but not a single one of them was looking for 3-4 year-old preschool. All were looking for nannies or daycare for younger children. Since our first year is just about up I thought I would call them to see if they had any plans to separate the searching for preschool vs daycare, but as so many others have found out, there is no contact information on the website. Once I started looking around and saw so many recent negative reviews I realized that our preschool does not need to be associated with this type of business.
Not a great experience having to pay so much up front before even getting to really see who's applied and if we will find anything that could work for us. Makes it feel more like a scam service is less likely to prove useful, so collects up front), than if you pay when you hire or even contact someone you're actually interested in.
I just learned that we've been billed when I thought we had signed up for a one-time use 5 years ago. We should have spotted but partner thought it was a medical site. By the way, we didn't find qualified help on this site. There are other sites. Use them and steer clear of this one.
Tip for consumers:
Don’t use them. They are not reputable.

I had a horrible experience with this website! I was in contact with someone for a month or so and they wanted for to purchase a wheelchair for their disabled son and she would send me a check for 2950, which i received yesterday but at that point i already knew the person wasnt real! I have since deleted my profile and moved on, if you are going to use this site id advise you to only talk on the site. Not via text or email! Its not a good feeling in the end, to many scams now a days! Just be careful!
Not using this site... sorry, my review is simply to warn that prepare to pay for this. I thought, great, I'll check it out but first step, enter in personal (okay, nothing super personal but more than I'd care to just float into the internet). Then taken to the pay options screen. So now, before I even have the option of knowing price, I've already submitted my personal information. This should be the other way around! Anyway, based on this lackadaisical handling of my personal info, the poor reviews, the seemingly overdone process, and the price, this is not the site nor service for me.
Falsely advertised quarterly payment amount. Terms and conditions made available after submitting payment information. Entrapment practices. Will be reporting to the better business bureau as well as attorneys.

I've only had one applicant for my nanny position, who doesn't even fully meet my requirements. They also don't have any background or safety verification (besides their phone was verified) so i have to pay for that extra. I'm disappointed that one has to pay for every little service extra. Premium is not premium at all - it feels more like I just booked a flight with Spirit, meanwhile I wanted to fly with Delta.

I have used care.com for the past 3 years. I found two babysitting jobs from great families and worked for both of them. Recently, I offered to help set up an a profile for my mom for her dog walking business, and now they are making you buy credits just to apply for a job. This makes absolute no sense. I tried calling their service number and it's impossible to reach an actual person. All I got was a voice recording. I am so upset with this business and this website. It was never like this before. How does it make any sense to make people pay to apply for a job? If anyone knows where I can take my business elsewhere please let me know.
This company will lie to you and cheat you whether you are a consumer or pro provider.
There is no customer service, you can only text the company and you receive scripted responses denying any stop to fraudulent billing. Never give them credit information.
Tip for consumers:
Never provide Care with your credit information. If you have, look immediately for false charges. Once they have your information they will charge you forever. Contact the Better Business Bureau immediately to place your complaint.

No where in the sign up process does it say that it is a monthly recurring subscription. It clearly states post your job, search applicants and pick the right applicant for a $39 fee. All of a sudden you check your account and they have taken out another $39 fee. I never save my credit card number on any site and yet care.com saved it and renewed without notice. We also cancelled our job post yet they still charged us a second monthly fee. Total bull$#*!.
Tip for consumers:
find another site. i heard sitter city.com is better. also look for postings at your park district board.
Hey To, I'm sorry that you missed our auto renewing feature, we always want our members to be aware of this which is why we disclose it on the enrollment page before you purchase a subscription. Also, closing your job post does not cancel the subscription, whenever you want to cancel an account you can always contact us or go into your profile and settings. I hope this was helpful and wish you the best on your search!
It has been very frustrating - while I found some sitters, many that look great and I would like to meet never respond- not even after I use the care.com option of setting up an appointment with them and not even after I contact them repeatedly. When I told care.com they repeatedly gave me their blanket statement that they know how it can be frustrating and I should post a job and try that route, but basically they will do nothing more than be sympathetic. So this has been a huge waste of time. This website should not keep caregivers never respond (for whatever reason). If feels like a scam
Horrible experience. Total catfish to begin with, they display all these people who either dont respond (after they make you pay 50 to sign up) or, these people already have jobs. Do not give them your hard earned money like I did. Total scam!

Hi Lauren!

Joined this website about a year ago and out of the blue they deleted my profile and would not explain why. I have done nothing wrong on my end. People rely on this website for their lively hood and to be able to secure a job in a specific career field. This company is a scam they delete peoples profiles for no reason? How can they get away with this? How do we know they are not secretly discriminating against people? Has anyone thought of doing a class action lawsuit?
Too much nickel and dime add-on costs and pricing levels. Seems like the site is more interested in squeezing extra money than offering a good experience. Just charge more if you need to, don't ask for an extra $2 for things like job views.
