I did find a caregiver. But, I thought the site was difficult to navigate. Using the site for the first time was very challenging. I also think it is quite expensive although I didn't know how to find a caregiver any other way besides going through a company and that way you don't always get quality people. So maybe paying a bit more will be worth it in the end. I am hopeful.
I sent a request for pet sitting, however the provider could not accommodate the request, care.com still charged me. There is no phone number and they make it difficult to connect to discuss issues, you email and wait for a response. Horrible customer care
Evidently I started to open a Care.com account for years ago seeking care. Now I am wanting to provide care. That is not being offered to me as an option even though I have gone to the Internet site and updated my profile. I just signed up with Care.com Hoping that I could actually use this site for gainful employment, Yet I am still only offered the opportunity to request care. All of my contact information is in your system so if you would assist me in a very easy-for-me manner, I might change the rating. I look forward to your assistance.
You sent me a coupon code when I registered for 10% off my "upgrade". When I applied, it said it was an invalid code. There are so many extras to pay for. We only need 4 days of service for respite care--so far 44.00 just to see if anyone is available.
I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have a positive experience with the site. For assistance, please reach out via our Help Center contact us link at help.care.com or Facebook Messenger. Include Reference Number REV-004320 when you message.
Website & app both don't allow you to use any of their services. There is no customer support or any support of any kind. Their phone is only a automated message that tells you to check FAQ page then hangs up on you. Half the buttons on their website don't do anything (you click and nothing happens at all) & I have also experienced the website making changes to my profile without me doing anything. The app is just as bad if not worse (both IOS and Android) as almost all the pages don't load or function properly (more broken buttons and error pages).
I would suggest finding nanny work with any other website as this one is not viable at all for anyone.

Recently signed up for care.com which apparently connects people who are looking to hire cat sitters/dog sitters/housekeepers. Despite my having 30+ years experience owning cats and dogs, having references from previous employers who have trusted me with the care of their animals, having 20+ years experience in retail management, I did not even get 1 employer (applied for 100+ positions) who was even remotely interested in even conducting an interview or asking me a question. But I guess I could have TRIPLED my chances of getting a response if I paid their monthly fees. And, Oh, I'm very sorry. I've been a little deceptive here. I did get one response. And after sending my CV to the gentleman, I received an email from Care informing me his profile was pulled from their website and they hoped I did not send in my CV as this gentleman was a scam artist. Fantastic.
I have tried numerous times to file a complaint. This is what I get.
Hi Karen,

Don't bother with complaints. They don't care at Care.com
There are a lot of barriers to using the site - add-on costs, extra subscriptions, etc. I would prefer to see all of my options and the cost of each service on one page, so that I understand exactly what I'm signing up for.
Hi Jen, I am sorry you are frustrated with the add-on offers. Care.com offers a variety of features to accommodate the needs of all our members. If you need assistance please reach out to us through our Help Center's contact us form found at help.care.com. You can also reach out to us through our Facebook Messenger. In an 18 month period I have cancelled twice given confirmation my account was cancelled. The amount was being pulled off a company credit card and only when the card expired was unable to finally stop having the monthly bill pulled. I tried consistently spoke to reps they would assure me it was cancelled the next month another payment pulled. They are yet to oblige my request with a refund only to provide free new services. From reading reviews similar I'm seeing a class action lawsuit in their near future.
We're so sorry this happened, Rhonda. Feel free to email us at careteam@care.com so that we could look into this for you. Thanks for reaching out!
I would suggest you go to the local colleges that have classes in what your needs are and look for students. They're trying to impress someone, their teacher/school. Trying to get a good grade. Care.com applicants are very iffy at best.
Thanks for listening and stay safe
I do not appreciate having to sign up for premium in order to view applicants for a job I posted. I understand not being able to respond, but at least let me see if anybody is worth responding to before making me spend $40 on something I would only use once. I have also been a caregiver on Care for about 8 years now and remember when premium was only $20 for prospective parents and even less for caregivers! Raising the prices is ridiculous when you guys obviously have a surplus of parents and caregivers on this site trying to find prospective employers/employees. The least you could do is relax on the price gouging.

It gives you an option of how much you would like to pay and based on their scale you can offer 15 dollars an up for house cleaning. I offered 20 per hour. They respond back with 25-35 hourly rate. Really? How many of years of schooling do you have to be asking for such high rate?
Also, they ask if you want to hear from companies and you say "no" and sure enough companies are contacting you.
And, guess what you can not even respond back without paying fees.
Crappy service.
Save your money! While on vacation we needed a babysitter for 1 day and after looking online care.com showed serval possible sitters at reasonable prices. I paid the monthly fee only to find out just 1 sitter was in the town we needed. Care.com was giving names of sitters 1-2 hours away from where we were staying for $50 per hour. When I tried to contact them for help, it said I needed to upgrade my membership. Care.com was not helpful and we never got a babysitter. What a waste of money! Zero stars!
Tip for consumers:
Don’t be fooled by looking online for babysitters in a specific area. Care.com shows people that are hours away from where you need service.

None. It is a monthly subscription, so I will have to cancel.

I am trying to find a housekeeper. So far, although there are plenty of faces that appear, none are available for work according to their profiles or when I reach out to them. If this doesn't change soon, I will be cancelling my membership. Thanks for asking.
I am a legitimate business offering services and pay $39.50 per month membership. I contact potential clients through the site. Have been for at least 2 years now. I have reached out to many people, and can see when they have read my message, and when they have not. I have a very strong feeling that Care.com puts up fake potential clients to puff up their image on the site. Out of 15 people contacted, only 1 viewed my message? And these people need help ASAP? They would be looking immediately, even if not interested. Something isn't right about this. I am cancelling my membership. This smacks of SCAM.
I have 22 years of stable employment history as a nanny. I am basically Alice from the Brady Bunch except I have a college degree and I speak fluent Italian. Since I have only two previous domestic employers (I stayed with each family until the kids were grown) I have no ratings or reviews on Care.com. It's a system that rewards job hoppers. I wasted a lot of money on this website, thinking I would get a placement. I don't recommend it for anyone else. I recommend a nanny referral agency instead.
This is my second time trying to use this site to get a sitter. Only a 77 year old women responded that she was unavailable. The younger girls don't answer when you post for a babysitter needed. These people "young adults" post availability but don't answer you back. Waste of my time. And why do i have to pay a membership. Also what's the deal with this website. Can't download the app i have to keep going into my App Store to check on my job posting/ applicants. STAY AWAY...
I am very disappointing in your website. After wasting my night trying to find a health care aide. Every one of the seven I selected were not available. Please refund me my money as I just paid tonight & I want be using your site. Please advise!

Very disappointed with this company. Not only were the caregivers shown as within 5 miles of me (and they were not even close), but when I went to cancel my account and request a refund (after only using the site for 3 days), I was told that they do not offer refunds! What company doesn't back their product with a refund? Seems like care.com doesn't really care at all.
I joined care.com years ago and it was very simple. Sign up, apply, message client, do job. Now, you have to pay a monthly just to be able to contact people. So, you can fill out all the questions, write a bio, apply, and it doesn't matter if you haven't paid. It's disgusting. This site it supposed to be for people who need to make money and families who are just trying to hire some help. Then if you want to change your bio, it has to be reviewed. Ha! So now you can't even put an email in your bio to contact families without paying the premium. It's turned into a greedy money grabbing company and I refuse to use it.
Deceptive, unethical company with anything but customer service at the forefront of their "cares". You will be repeatedly billed for months even without receipts or knowledge of signing up for a subscription service.
After I signed up for quarterly subscription, the next page did not make it clear that you were selling me something else as an add on. I thought I was just confirming my care.com subscription and instead added background checks which I do not need. Felt sneaky for a service that is not refundable.

When upgrading my account, the options listed monthly pricing, however when I went to pay, it charged the full yearly price upfront, not monthly payments which is what I was expecting.
I thought background checks were automatically done for everyone who is listed on your site, but during checkout a screen said I would have to pay $79 for background checks. This along with a few other "add on" options did not give me good feelings upon trying to register for your service.
Hi Deanna, We are a paid subscription service and not a free service. I'm sorry if you thought otherwise and therefore felt mislead. That was never our intention. Many sites like ours charge a fee in order to be able to offer you the features our site offers. Otherwise we'd just be like any other free classified site with very little to offer.
All caregivers are required to complete an enhanced caregiver screening to include a background check called a CareCheck, which is based on the information the caregiver provides to us. It includes:
Social Security Number trace
National Sex Offender Public Website search
Multi-jurisdictional criminal database search
Federal and county criminal records search
Care.com uses CareChecks to help maintain a safe community and their results are not shared. Because our membership eligibility standards for caregivers may differ from your own standards for hiring, we recommend you always run your own background check as part of the hiring process for results that may include:
The most recent records covered by a CareCheck
Additional information such as driving history, traffic violations, and civil records
Your own copy of these reports (as CareCheck reports are not shared)
Visit our Safety Center for more information on the background checks available for purchase. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to let me know or you can visit our Help page.
Posting job was easy. Having trouble uploading a profile picture - receiving error even though photo meets all criteria. Tried uploading from facebook but received an error that that function is not currently available.

Can't post for disability care, or special needs care, or computer assistance, very very low response rate, lack of good candidates. Interface constantly tells me my password is wrong and the login screen takes me to an error page. I paid for the first month, but honestly it is way over priced, but if I find someone then it will be worth it.

I was contacted by someone saying they got my number off of Care.com. They said they needed me to babysit and run errands. They were relocating. They were Deaf so could only text or email. Then asked for MY bank account information to send me money to help them get stuff together before their arrival. Crazy. When I said I didn't have a bank account I only deal with cash... they asked me to go set one up. Weird accent in the language and way they communicated. I reported but have heard NOTHING from Care.com
Hi Vicki, Unfortunately this does seem to follow the same pattern as many other internet wide scams. My best advise to avoid these texts and emails is to hide your phone number in the “Privacy Settings and Preferences” section under your “Account and Settings”. Also, I would suggest remaining on the site when first communicating with potential employers, this way Care.com has the ability to monitor a situation if necessary. We here at Care.com take safety very seriously and apologize that you have not heard anything back, but I strongly encourage you to reach out to us again by phone at (877)-227-3115 or email at careteam@care.com to report this information.
Confusing to navigate. Just want to find a housekeeper for my mother, but even tho' it initially looked like I could access providers for free, I felt railroaded into paying for a subscription to be able to use this site, and then there all a bunch of add-ons presented that are hardly explained. Evaluating this going forward.
