I did find a caregiver. But, I thought the site was difficult to navigate. Using the site for the first time was very challenging. I also think it is quite expensive although I didn't know how to find a caregiver any other way besides going through a company and that way you don't always get quality people. So maybe paying a bit more will be worth it in the end. I am hopeful.
I sent a request for pet sitting, however the provider could not accommodate the request, care.com still charged me. There is no phone number and they make it difficult to connect to discuss issues, you email and wait for a response. Horrible customer care
What everyone is saying is correct! I was on the site 4 months. I got no replies to any of my applications, no phone calls, and no offers. I didn't pay for any of the advanced services, Thank God, because from what I can see, they steal from you and you get nothing in return... what did it for me was the constant weekly harassments from fake numbers and employers offering fraudulent jobs or money offers. Goodbye forever Care. Com. I'd never recommend anyone to your site in this lifetime
I just can't stand that it's so expensive to even be able to connect with anyone or anything.
I've spent so much money over the years abs I have never found anyone. I am sick of laying such a high monthly fee.
The site is no help when trying to cancel the payment/ account! Don't even try to chat with someone it just takes you back to the original screen! I have reached out to customer service they don't help they tell me to use a desktop computer and still nothing
I just saw in my bank statement Care.com UK has been charging me £45 for the last 7 months even though I only signed up for one month! I'm trying to reach them- they have no UK contact no. Listed on the website. I got a UK contact number from a US representative but it goes to voice message! I will look into suing them
Yeah if people are looking for a housekeeper why don't they at least respond when you apply. I think there are a lot of bogus jobs advertised on the site. Can't prove it but when you apply for over 50 and get 0 responses, something's up.
It is ultimately the family' decision to reply to the applications they receive although we advise everyone to reply promptly to their messages, we're so sorry if this has not been your experience. I suggest applying to all jobs that interest you and send a follow up message if you dont hear anything back. I thought this article on the site might be helpful as well; http://tinyurl.com/zum4fvj>. Best wishes!
When trying to pay for membership my card was
charged 2 times but the fraud dept blocked the payment. I called fraud to open my account up. Could someone call me as I am not good with using computers. *******280
Did not appreciate AND NOT impressed with the bait tactics used to respond to a potential applicant by forcing me to upgrade my service (applicant was well outside our area). Retired from D. C. law firm and will be watching this close.

I have reached out to this member to resolve the issue, but have not heard back. Additional help can be found at https://help.care.com/
I used a promo code to get the service for three months - Needed a house cleaning service. No good leads, background checks are very expensive and definitely not included. The information provided is no better than, actually not even as good as, a newspaper advertisement. Rude customer service too. They offered to refund me approximately 15.00 and downgrade me to one month? In other words steal money from me as a way of helping me out of their poor service and false advertisements? Horrible
I feel that you website is dishonest in signing me up, getting the job I need entered but then forcing me to pay an excessive amount of money to communicate with potential caregivers. I would not use or recommend your site to anyone for that reason.

I am sorry to hear your feedback and have noted it for our management team to review. We are a paid subscription service and not a free service. I'm sorry if you thought otherwise and therefore felt mislead. That was never our intention. Many sites like ours charge a fee in order to be able to offer you the features our site offers. Otherwise we'd just be like any other free classified site with very little to offer.
I signed up just to see what they offer for my sick wife. Never hired a caretaker or interviewed anyone. After a lot of research found out how to cancel. Although they cancelled in Nov they will charge $30 per month until May. What a rip-off.
The structure and the mechanics of your organization are not transparent; It's not easy to figure out how Care.com works. I don't like paying a subscription fee to ask a reasonable question. All the pertinent info should be-literally-up front on your site. Thanks for listening :)
Hi Paula, While Care.com offers many great tools to help make connections and communication easier between families and caregivers, we are not an agency. Care.com is an online marketplace where families looking for care can connect with caregivers. This means we can’t find and place a caregiver with you or help with hiring.
We provide a comprehensive self-service solution for your family care needs, including:
Searching caregiver profiles and limiting the results to specific requirements.
Posting Jobs with your care needs and requirements so interested caregivers can apply.
Our Premium subscription offers you the ability to:
Send direct messages to potential candidates
Run additional background checks
Access recommendations from previous families
Pay caregivers you’ve hired securely
If you have any further questions or concerns, please visit our Help page for more details.
I wish people would respond a bit quicker when someone is in a bind, but I don't believe that's Cares responsibility maybe just let people who really use this as a job to take full advantage of the platform for someone seeking help this isn't nonchalant.
Hi Amanda, Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. I will be sure to share your valued feedback with our product team!
I would never recommend that anyone sign up for Care.com. Ever since I registered I have been plagued with text message scams. I tried to hide my phone number on my account but apparently there is no way to do that- or if there is, they make it very difficult. Of all the jobs I applied to, I think I heard back from one person. So basically, if you sign up for Care.com, you are signing yourself up for someone to try to scam you at least once a week. Beyond that, there is basically zero protection for sitters. Families have access to all of your information (like the $10 background check) but you can't see anything about them- usually not even their full name! It's absolutely ridiculous. This website does not have proper security measures in place and does not seem to value the security of sitters' personal information at all. Do yourself a favor and avoid Care.com.
The website continually gives login problems. It will say "care.com has redirected you too many times." I tried to call member services and it is only an automated message. To chat with support staff, you need to log in, which I was unable to do. I had to make a whole new account.
Hello Suzie, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have a positive experience with the site. For assistance, please reach out via our Help Center contact us link at help.care.com or Facebook Messenger. Include Reference Number REV-006904 with your message.
Please instruct your web developers to be culturally appropriate. The name field does not permit people to write their last names with spaces in them. Many Hispanic last names have spaces. Also, I kept trying to pay and found it really difficult under my existing account, I had to create a new account.
Hi Cathy, We'd be happy to assist you if you want to reach out to us through our Help Center's contact us form found at help.care.com. You can also reach out to us through our Facebook Messenger. Please include Reference Number REV-007894 with your message.
Their customer service is not very bright. I will never use them again. They allow reviews on your ad and you can't respond. And the referrals are irritated by care.com, so when you do a follow-up, the parents are very rude to you are simply don't answer. No way, I'll stick to Craigslist
After notifying care.com about a untrustworthy caregiver who has a history of embezzling they have her highlighted as excellent and also are listing her newly formed business. There are 2 partners one is a sneaky, liar and the other has a criminal record. If you live in Vermont or New Hampshire be aware of this new group. I think their goal is $$$ and vetting companies is not their problem. Please be careful of care.com
This site is extremely frustrating and provides no service whatsoever. There is absolutely no screening of people they allow to use this site, we have had a couple of horrible experiences. The people who apply for jobs or have profiles often don't respond, and many have told me they actually don't get messages that I send on the site. It is a terrible experience and I have lost all confidence in care.com as a site that will provide reliable access to quality candidates. I've uses it for tutors, babysitters, nannies, and housekeepers and every experience has been a decline.
Annoying that you charge to message.
*I made an account and posted an ad, so I am certainly ready to hire someone... I did pay for the premium membership but your reply would not have gained my business if I had not already subscribed. You should at least allow us to read messages and not reply until we pay. Just a suggestion.
Hi Julia, Your free membership gives you a chance to try our services in case you weren’t ready to commit to purchasing a Premium Membership when you first visited Care.com. To ensure the safety of our community and to support our efforts in providing you a high quality service there is a fee associated with a Premium Membership. We'd be happy to assist you. Premium members or members who have a current booking can always live chat with us through the Contact Us button found at help.care.com as well as reach out to us via our phone number listed on your credit card statement. I think it's a poor business practice to not let it be known right from the get-go that users (people looking to hire a caregiver) will be required to pay some sort of fee in order to look at applications. I got my first potential caregiver application, and lo and behold, I had to fork over a payment to see her application!
It isn't that I mind paying for a service, and I understand that care.com has expenses, but I would have liked to have been made aware of this simple piece of information right from the start!
We appreciate your review. We'll be sure to share your feedback with our management team.
I paid for using Care.com for one month only. Now I see that they have again charged my visa card five months later! For what? I only wanted the one month. Did not renew and thought that was that. This company is not good at all. No contact telephone number to speak with anybody on their site. Nowhere. Beware.
Hi Melanie, Our subscriptions do automatically renew until set to cancel, we highlight this feature on the enrollment page but I am truly sorry if you misunderstood. You still have the option to cancel by selecting "Downgrade" in your Account & Settings, or you can reach out to 877-227-3115 or careteam@care.com for assistance. Or you can even send me a private message with your contact information and I'll be sure to help out!
This has been a nightmare to set up a "looking for care" account. About 10 years I opened a care.com account looking for jobs. There is no way to change my profile type. I had to pay for a background check just to cancel my account, and then the account doesn't delete for a year... this seems like an incredibly simple fix - add something on the profile that A) either allows someone to be both (I'm sure that's more common than you'd think), B) add a switch account type and C) allow someone to enter their account without paying - you can limit what people can see and do. Also, why doesn't care.com have a chat option?
Hello Kandice, I am sorry for your frustration. We'd be happy to assist you if you want to reach out to us through our Help Center's contact us form found at help.care.com. You can also reach out to us through our Facebook Messenger. Please include Reference Number REV-006597 with your message.
The app/vs the browser version are different and confusing. I paid almost 200$ to even access your list. That provided to no background checks, no info on how my posting is doing. That costs extra. Other than a list of people the premium membership doesn't offer much. And the app is not user friendly nor intuitive

Your system keeps saying I have an error and to come back later? What does that do for anyone? After typing out paragraph's for the description of our needs, and then again when I type out a message to someone I found as an option to help. This is not user friendly at all. I'm new to the site

These days you are better off getting help through local sites like nextdoor digest.
You sign up for one month and then they charge you every month regardless that you signed up for '1 month'. They make it very tricky trying to close your account and there is not a single point of contact on their web site - so no where to call or complain to. Of course!
It is a big money maker and that's it
