I did find a caregiver. But, I thought the site was difficult to navigate. Using the site for the first time was very challenging. I also think it is quite expensive although I didn't know how to find a caregiver any other way besides going through a company and that way you don't always get quality people. So maybe paying a bit more will be worth it in the end. I am hopeful.
I sent a request for pet sitting, however the provider could not accommodate the request, care.com still charged me. There is no phone number and they make it difficult to connect to discuss issues, you email and wait for a response. Horrible customer care
I do not like that the website made me create a job posting without telling me that was what I was doing, then made me pay to see the applications. It's misleading and sneaky. Your search filters are also terrible. You should be able to filter by actually useful information, like whether or not the nanny is even listed as available.
Looking for a caregiver for a family member is stressful enough, this site was suppose to be helpful. Yet it seems the only concern from this site is acquiring $$$ and requesting more money incessantly before you even find a helper or speak with anyone.
Hello Tonya, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have a positive experience with the site. For assistance, please reach out via our Help Center contact us link at help.care.com or Facebook Messenger. Include Reference Number REV-006864 when you message.
Like many others, I signed up for a one-month subscription and just realized I have been being charged for additional months. They are preying on moms who, like me, were probably in a weak moment and feeling a little desperate. Disgusting. Am disputing the charge.
Hi Krista, I'm really sorry to hear that you were unaware of our auto renewal feature. We disclose this feature on our enrollment page to make our members aware, but I am sorry that you missed it and will certainly be forwarding your feedback about this.
Your pricing is deceiving. I was understanding that I would be charged $12.95 per month and you just took a whole $155.40 out of my account. Then charge even more for silly stuff like featuring your ad and seeing if messages have been read. I get you are trying to make money but that is absurd to treat people that way knowing you have probably millions or at the very least thousands of people using this site. Some of us are really struggling right now but you just take like its ok or something. That is really horrible to treat customers that way.

I have reached out to this member to resolve the issue, but have not heard back. Additional help can be found at https://help.care.com/
Care.com won't allow you to publish your contact info -- have to go through their website and who has that time to do email, receive email without being able to speak to the person? Many caregivers never respond making me think that care.com leaves them on indefinitely. I have had limited success and can't say much good about them.
Care.com helped us find quick care when we were in a bind for a little one. We don't live near family so it was the perfect service we needed to find occasional help. It was really easy to view profiles, contact potential caregivers, check references and even pay them through the site. I would recommend them to anyone!
I thought that making an account would be a good idea to put my name out there for different families. This website took me forever to be able to put my info in. And then banned me 12 hours later with no explanation. Huge disappointment.
I would give this company a 0 if I could. Paid for 1 month membership and still was charged for an automatically renewed premium membership with no emails sent to inform us about the charge.
Do not use this company! I have submitted them to the Better Business Bureau. Also reported fraudulent billing to our credit card company.
The initial selection of caregivers is set up nice. I hate that I had to go through my selections of caregivers multiple times when I was trying to figure out what pricing I could pay. I also don't appreciate the way you sneak in extra fees beyond what is listed. I did not want to upgrade but there was no other choice.
There is no clear confirmation when the credit card was submitted. Already I don't trust your organization and I doubt I will have a good experience.

Honestly, for the price you pay per month, is it too much to ask that someone calls you back? I went through 6 candidates for a simple date night babysitter request and got zero replies --on 2 seperate occasions. I don't have time for this babysitter chase. I'm going back to Sittercity.com. I found much better candidates there.
I was a member on this site. I was only on for 5 weeks and I had more scams than potential clients.! Some people expect you to just come to their house. No way! Public place first! Anyone can create a account and give faulty information. It's so hard to judge scam over the real thing. When you report them they believe the scammer over the Nanny. HORRIBLE customer service! Ask for management and they send you a email instead and close your account down. So much for calling the safety team for help.
BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE stay away!
For the price I'd expect a much mire powerful interface! I can't see the hours someone is willing to work in the app, only in the website. I've found cases of hourly rates shown as 20-25 but when I go to the profile it's 18. Just making me work to hard to find a match with my basic requirements. And very expensive for a finders service.

Hi Jessica!
Thank you for your feedback! I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble finding someone who, matches the hourly rates you are looking for! Please let me know if you are needing any assistance! I would be happy to help!
I am a nanny and have used this site to try to find a family to work with. It is of absolutely no value unless you pay and even then it seems to do nothing unless the people you are trying to contact also have paid on their end. Once you give them your email they never stop sending you messages, even when you request that they don't. The customer service is a joke. I'd rather find a job on craigslist than deal with these incompetents. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother!
I've signed up 1 month membership with them and cancelled after 2 weeks ( I still paid 1 month membership fee). However, they keep charging my credit card even the membership was cancelled. Every few month their try to charge my credit card, when I called the customer service number they always said "We are sorry, we will take it off." but a couple of month late this will happen again. I do not trust this company, and will never use them again!
Sorry to hear about your experience, Yvonne. We would like to get to the bottom of this and figure out why you keep getting charged, please email us at careteam@care.com so that we could check for duplicate accounts which may have caused you getting charge multiple times. Hope to hear from you!
So, recently I had paid for a background check which was clear by the way. I ran a driver record, and it showed my date of birth did not match my application with Care.com. I tried so many times to get in contact with them never heard anything. What a waste of time and money!

Find a different company! They are happy to charge your credit, however you can't message caregiver (was looking for a tutor) and you are unable to message applicants and it took me almost a week to get in touch with "customer service". The make their phone number hard to find so you have to email - which I did, never heard back. Stay Away from this company!
The website is OK has room for improvement. I don't like how different profiles are so inconsistent with which info they display (and I understand that's partially due to the applicant's preferences). For example, I can see how many families one babysitter has sat for through care.com but not another for another babysitter. I wish it was more consistent. I also wish there was more motivation for people to write reviews for babysitters since reviews are so helpful when making a decision about who to hire.
The "extra" options are a bad idea. It is frustrating trying to accomplish the one thing you are on this site to achieve - getting responses from people interested in working with you. We will try your service for one month and then will post on media platforms about the really poorly designed process you employ.

I have been on care.com for awhile - offering services as a nanny, pet sitter and offering elderly care. I have only found 1 legit job. All the other offers I've gotten have been people scaming. Thankfully I only gave out my information once and then learned to see the signs of a scammer. My advice is only apply for jobs with people who have a photo of them or their family. There are some other legit people without photos. But it's hard to find.
Too expensive just to be able to look, and way too may add on 'options' makes the site seem money hungry and less interested in helping connect client to caregiver. Then to not find anyone in my area. I have a profile that I had previously created when looking for pet sitting jobs in college, the website would not let me manage and alter this profile as someone looking for care instead of looking to be hired. So I had to create a whole new profile.
Hi Angela, We are a paid subscription service and not a free service. I'm sorry if you thought otherwise and therefore felt mislead. That was never our intention. Many sites like ours charge a fee in order to be able to offer you the features our site offers. Otherwise, we'd just be like any other free classified site with very little to offer. At this time, there is not a way to switch between account types. We do require you enroll in a family account or a job seeking account based on your needs.
I had an account with them for years. I had a nanny who did not show up and took advantage of our family in many, many ways and they permitted her account of what happened without even contacting me. Just canceled my account and then, on top of every thing else, after my account was canceled, they chargeD my debit account over $630. They are trying to claim that the charge went through Apple and therefore Apple has to deal with the refund; however, it is clear through my bank account that the charge came direct from Care.com. My account was closed on September 13 and they never responded to a single email or phone calls.
Hackers have my info they say they got from my profile on care.com, they are texting me and it looks like I am not the only one. Their website must not be very secure. How the heck did these scammers get my phone number and know I am a nanny. Beware before using this site.
Hi Carolyn, in your privacy settings, you have the option to show your phone number on your profile. I'm sorry if you've been contacted by someone who seems suspicious, we definitely encourage you to contact Member Care to report this and we would also be happy to assist you in hiding your phone number!
I've been looking for a nanny and posted a job on care.com - They mention 24 hours for the job to be approved. It's been 7 days and the job is still not approved. I talked to their support service twice; The first one told me to reach back out to escalate the problem if the job was still not active in a few days. Second person I talked to said there is nothing I can do you just have to wait or contact people directly. You basically pay for a service that's not provided. I asked for account termination and refund but still haven't heard back from them.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use it
Don't bother to go here. I join the ranks of dissatisfied customers who was not refunded a credit for 4/1-6/30/20 even though I contacted them on 3/30/20. My mother is 94 and can't afford to pay me back for the THREE MONTHS of "membership" not used. Actually, I haven't used the site since January. Now with being laid off because of corona virus, they took the money out of my account and ran. They put a credit in there and took it away the next day. Heartless!
There are other sites you can use instead of this dishonest one. Some examples are: Sitter City, Urban Sitter, Home Instead, Rover, etc. Got to "SitesLike.com" and get alternatives. RIP OFF.
