There is no way to call and connect directly to your Customer Care team. Also, your paywall site doesn't support/allow for a user to log-in using a VPN service, which is a major issue for any user connecting from a public WiFi hotspot!

I hold a degree in education from a prestigious university. In addition, I have several years of experience as a tutor/teacher. I have been applying for nanny jobs in a very rural area, so it is not likely that these jobs are incredibly competitive. In each of my applications on Care, I have outlined my experience in a grammatically correct manner. Families can reply to your application only if one party has a premium account. Considering many of the families in my area were not premium members (which you have no way of knowing until you have sent your application message--huge waste of time), I gave in and paid for a three month membership. I still have yet to receive a single response to my messages, which leads me to believe either 1) both parties need to have a premium account in most cases, 2) the posts are not legitimate, 3) the parents do not know how to use the site properly.

This was a total waste of money and time. This site only works for a select few, seemingly at random. Parents and care seekers: PLEASE stop using this site as your main source.

There are tons of people advertising jobs, but the vast majority of them, probably 80% or more, will not be able to look at applications because they are not premium members. The site allows this, presumably, so that people looking for jobs will be inspired to pay the premium fee to enable them to send messages to all these wonderful job posters. What they don't Realize is that they have very little chance of getting a job. It also looks to me like this site itself is creating bogus job posts. Take a look at a lot of the tutoring jobs. They have way too little information. If you were actually looking for a tutor to help your kid, would you really just post "family looking for part-time tutor for math"? Seriously, this could be anything from kindergarten number readiness to AP calculus. If you really are looking for a tutor, you're going to be a little more specific. If your goal is simply to increase the number of postings on the site, however, you would probably just be click click clicking these automated options.

WHAT IS A CORRECT NUMBER? There is no way to end my account here; everything I got was a scam of a deaf woman with kids and a dog moving to "my area"... and then she wanted my address and personal information.

Doing this on behalf of an elderly relative. So many people that need this service are NOT computer literate. There needs to be a phone-based alternative to meet their needs.

It's dirty and manipulative that you let people sign up for an account and post a job, only to tell them they have to pay to actually answer any messages.

This company is awful. After not realizing that the subscription was recurring (I do not recall seeing that when I signed up) I went online to cancel. I received my cancellation confirmation and assumed I was all set. Checked my email today and noticed new emails from Care.com. I logged on and found that I was no longer set to cancel, they showed my subscription as still active, and set to charge my account again in a few days. After a lot of searching on their website I finally found a phone number to call to confirm I was in fact cancelled. Don't even bother attempting to do that. The "customer service" is AWFUL. I spent 20 minutes navigating through the phone menu trying to get a live person, to only be disconnected 3 times. I finally made it into a queue to get an actual person. I was originally told by the auto attendant that I was # 4 in line, then she came back on and said #3. Then, somehow I made it to #5 in line. The next time she came on I was #7. How does happen? How can I start out at #4, then get put down to #7? After 35 minutes I gave up and disconnected. I ended up going to my bank to have a new debit card issued to me and my one on file cancelled. I figured that was better than finding that I was again un-cancelled. WORST COMPANY EVER! I would never recommend to anyone.

Hi Kelly, If you have received a confirmation email that your subscription is set to cancel then you will be all set. With the basic membership, you are still able to receive job applicants and search for caregivers in your area. You would also continue to receive emails from Care.com depending on your personal email settings. I'm very sorry to hear about your experience in trying to reach our Customer Service department. Good so far but would have been nice to be able to test out more features (e.g. Messaging interested nannies) on the free plan before committing to a paid plan.

FRAUD-SCAM-DANGER!

I have sent the following message to the care.com team. I am completely serious. ****I will be filing a law suit against this dangerous scam of a 'company!' BEWARE!****

"Your site has proven to be corrupt. My personal experience has been one of foreign frauds using the site as a way to traffic monies through the Walmart bill pay system. I have submitted a ticket and filed a local police report, but to no avail. Now my private phone number has been compromised and I was instructed by one of YOUR team members to have MY cell phone service to change MY cell phone number! SERIOUSLY?!?! THAT IS THE BEST THAT YOU CAN DO?!? I AM IN THE PROCESS OF REPORTING *****YOUR CARE.COM SITE AS A DANGEROUS AND FRAUDULENT SITE!***** ------A VERY UNSATISFIED & ANGRY CUSTOMER!----- PS: My RETAINED Attorney will be following up! Please Rest assured of this.
