I spoke with Christina and thought we had a deal that she would call me on Tuesday morning before coming over and our time would start at 111 am. I waited until 10:50 and then called her. Her response was as if there was no agreement and issued a financial requirement she needed. It was reasonable and so we agreed that we would again try to meet the next day, meaning this morning. Again, she was going to call me before coming and asked me for the address I received no phone call and she did not show up as far as I'm concerned I do not wish to hire her. I'm in the process of looking at another applicant.
This is my first time trying this site. Unfortunately our full time nanny is off for medical reasons thus wanted to try to find backup care for the time being. Most of these profiles seem promising and one stood out to me. She messaged me after posting the job and she seemed happy to come and help out. She was supposed to come today at 7am. I told her it was ok if she wanted to come around 730 to give her more time but she sadly still hasn't replied or showed up. Now I'm hesitant to try to find care again worried that this will happen again :(

I joined yesterday and canceled yesterday. It took much of the day trying to get a sitter. Three individuals agreed and then canceled. Several recommended sitters did not meet the criteria with respect to their schedules parameters so I would start reviewing the profile only to discover that the individual did not work during the hours I requested. Finally the links to the sitter pages did not consistently work, "error, please try again later". The service is a great idea but it did not work for me.

I was not happy about having to pay a quarterly fee in order to communicate with the applicants. But in the end I was pleased to be able to communicate with all three. That made a huge difference for me! I now have a new housekeeper coming next week!

I sign up for the background check and could not get it to work. So I would not pay for that service. The care. Com app worked easily and I had great success in hiring a person. I used there personal referral and did and in person interview. I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE APP.

I thought I had booked Sarah to walk Camille March 22 to 24 for a half hour. I sent the info to her. There was no response. I had to take Camille out wearing a fracture boot. It was very hard to do. I am very disappointed in Care

Made booking a sitter super easy and had great options available. I don't know if this is a new feature but the first available person to accept the job gets hired versus when I previously had the option of choosing. Also, no way to edit hours after posting your job but have to cancel.

I was able to book a sitter for my 14-month-old daughter. Although Care.com recommends researching people before you book or let them into your home, they do not provide the individual's last name. Fortunately, the sitter I booked was forthright with that information and I found her lovely. However, not providing the last name or verifying the credentials of the people who apply to your post, it's like applying for a job and not giving your last name. More than a job, we are letting these people into our homes to care for our loved ones, without being able to vet them.

I liked the Care.com website. It's easy to learn where things are and maneuver. My 'ad' elicited 5 or 6 responses in addition to those caregivers that I selected based on my search criteria. I was able to review their profiles quickly and interviewed the person I felt was the most qualified on the phone. We set up a face to face interview the next day, and hired her. I was very lucky that things were accomplished so quickly.

The app is terrible. It runs behind. It cancelled my job sitter because my credit card flagged it as fraud. There was no option to go back in and say run again. Then it wanted me to hire a new sitter after I'd set up the first one. Lastly, it says it will charge when service begins. It already charged my card for a service beginning in five days. Not impressed at all.

This is a common practice for validating a credit card before running a transaction. You are only actually charged when the service takes place. Answer: Hello, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they are currently investigating Care.com. This is important enough to me that they have scammed me out of 6 months of payments and I had to close my credit card for Fraud. If you have had a bad experience with Care.com, I would encourage you to file a complaint with BBB. If enough people complain, then they will take more serious action. Here is the website. Answer: Steer clear from Care.com or what we prefer to call Care-aless. Com! They are only about profit for them. The site is for trollers that prey on innocent families. You'd be better off putting an ad in your local newspaper. Most local newspapers also have online readership too!

Answer: I would be cautious. I hope she is not moving for the job, as that is NOT a good idea. I get text messages daily from people asking me to email them (often for a friend), or someone coming from out of town or whatever. I delete these right away. First of all, they should go through the regular website and email you. No one would hire anyone without first meeting them, checking references, etc. I am sitting at the home of someone I took with through the Care site. I first communicated via email, then set up a face to face and met the kids. If it seems too good to be true, it is. USE COMMON SENSE! Seriously, if you don't have common sense you really shouldn't be taking care of kids, pets or anyone else!
Answer: This is so sad! I have been on both sides as I have an assisted living home in Pensacola Florida. I used care.com to staff my home; awful. Then when I had myself on as a provider they suspended me for a 14 year old non viloent misdemeanor, and they did not even have my permission to check past 7. They want you to get crappy providers, the good ones are kicked off because once ya get a good one, you no longer need them. Cash cow corrupt company who makes rules up as they go along, I heard 20/20 is doing a special. I plan to contact them, as I am verifiably the best care coordinator hands down, extremely good with direct care. You will only ever be returned 1 month contact the Federal Trade Commission file a complaint that's what I did, the more problems the better the case against care, com

Answer: Some of the clients are looking for cheap labor through the internet for housekeeping. I usually tell the person to call me back for interview finish. Then I would tell them that I am self-employed and they would need to file a 1099 for taxes to IRS.
Answer: Care.com is set up for parents that pay for the service... Parents can enroll for free and place and add. However, If they do not forward their credit card any messages from caregivers will have a blocked phone number. The babysitter cam also enroll for free and make a profile for her services. However if she does nor forward her credit card she can only apply to 8 jobs every 28 days and only the ads from parents that have paid for an account will be able to contact her. DO NOT respond to anyone contacting you on your phone that did not contact through Care.com first... This is always a scam... The message will look like this: I am moving to your area soon and need car for my son/daughter. Kindly respond to my email.(They are looking to scam you for money.)

They make up rules as they decide not how things are written and do not follow their own privacy policy. They feed on single moms and dads. As well as children providing for aging parents You can place an add on Craigslist as well, for free and your prospective employee provides their own background check as it can be a most recent one and obtained by themselves at 5 to 10 dollars
