Forced into Premium

Being forced into premium status without speaking to the dog walker is an absolute farce. Had to pay for the full month. As it turns out, after speaking with the dog walker, she could not accommodate the times needed, and since her appointment was already booked, the cancellation fee was greater than the dog walking fee. Cancelled premium, but felt taken advantage of and nowhere on the website to share the frustration. An absolute rip-off!

The paid membership is required to begin the screening process such as running background checks, contacting caregivers for interviews, and checking references. The site is designed to connect people seeking services of care; but conveniently makes you beg for your own level of service. Background checks have to be purchased per nanny (nanny's can bypass this) and you also have to complete one — pointless. Nanny's aren't vetter to ensure that they are US Citizens either — experienced this firsthand with someone I had in my home for 3 months; scary!

Sabotage

I did have a chance talking with Averie.B and we fixed the schedule and she agreed to show up, I was very disappointed no pick my call even txt never or email no call no show just hoping that someone will accept my offer and not make me regret my Money in this app.

Website kept freezing

Website kept freezing, had to constantly restart the app, unable to set up different rates for different nannies, unable to change the rate once set - difficult to navigate payments or change nanny schedule.

The app needs help.

The app is terrible. It runs behind. It cancelled my job sitter because my credit card flagged it as fraud. There was no option to go back in and say run again. Then it wanted me to hire a new sitter after I'd set up the first one. Lastly, it says it will charge when service begins. It already charged my card for a service beginning in five days. Not impressed at all.

Amazing
April 19, 2025

I feel so lucky to have found Rebecca. The kids loved her— even the shy one warmed up before I was out of the house. She was helpful with my two dogs as well. When I came home everyone was happily tucked into bed and my house was magically cleaner and strangely peaceful... I'm officially Rebecca's biggest fan.

Easy to use Great results

Booked a Sitter

I was able to book a sitter for my 14-month-old daughter. Although Care.com recommends researching people before you book or let them into your home, they do not provide the individual's last name. Fortunately, the sitter I booked was forthright with that information and I found her lovely. However, not providing the last name or verifying the credentials of the people who apply to your post, it's like applying for a job and not giving your last name. More than a job, we are letting these people into our homes to care for our loved ones, without being able to vet them.

Very convenient

Made booking a sitter super easy and had great options available. I don't know if this is a new feature but the first available person to accept the job gets hired versus when I previously had the option of choosing. Also, no way to edit hours after posting your job but have to cancel.

I spoke with Christina and thought we had a deal that she would call me on Tuesday morning before coming over and our time would start at 111 am. I waited until 10:50 and then called her. Her response was as if there was no agreement and issued a financial requirement she needed. It was reasonable and so we agreed that we would again try to meet the next day, meaning this morning. Again, she was going to call me before coming and asked me for the address I received no phone call and she did not show up as far as I'm concerned I do not wish to hire her. I'm in the process of looking at another applicant.

Amy is an exceptional dog sitter.

Amy stayed with our dog for 3 weeks while we were out of the country. She dealt with frigid weather and frozen pipes competently, keeping us informed, but handling issues confidently. She took wonderful care of our dog. We are so grateful for all she did to allow us to enjoy our time away, knowing that she had the home front covered.

So Nice, Patient, and Thoughtful

Leslie is absolutely amazing! She is kind, patient, professional, fun, and engaging with the kids. I have twins, 6 years of age, and one of them doesn't like have sitters at all. Leslie was so patient and fun, she won him over. She sent photos while we were away and we had a wonderful, stress free evening because of her. Absolutely recommend!

Easy to book but...

I wish it would be easier to tell the people that were not selected for the job that the vacancy has been fulfilled. Once I book a person, it's hard to communicate to the rest and I keep receiving messages from them. I want them to apply again when I post a new job but they won't if I seem like I'm disregarding them

Sent 5 contacts for help, all but 2 replied. 2 contacted me that I had not contacted. Had 3 come see the job and interviewed and got quotes. Offered Miriam and her team the job and she agreed. Still waiting to hear from her about when she will be here for the first cleaning?

Hired a qualified caregiver in one day

I liked the Care.com website. It's easy to learn where things are and maneuver. My 'ad' elicited 5 or 6 responses in addition to those caregivers that I selected based on my search criteria. I was able to review their profiles quickly and interviewed the person I felt was the most qualified on the phone. We set up a face to face interview the next day, and hired her. I was very lucky that things were accomplished so quickly.

I joined yesterday and canceled yesterday. It took much of the day trying to get a sitter. Three individuals agreed and then canceled. Several recommended sitters did not meet the criteria with respect to their schedules parameters so I would start reviewing the profile only to discover that the individual did not work during the hours I requested. Finally the links to the sitter pages did not consistently work, "error, please try again later". The service is a great idea but it did not work for me.

Apartment cleaning by Ana T

Ana was prompt and friendly. She brought all her own supplies. We reviewed what I wanted and I left her to do the job while I waited in the patio.
She went over and beyond what I expected, she stayed several hours, because this was the initial cleaning and she wanted to be thorough. When I returned everything was perfect!
