We recently visited Applebee's in order to take advantage of the Top Gun movie ticket promotion. For every $25 spent, you would receive a movie ticket. We spent $58, therefore earning 2 tickets. I submitted necessary info and they claimed my receipt was missing info. I submitted a photo and they sent my info to another department for further verification. I kept emailing to find out status of my tickets. Never a response from their customer service until my email today, again asking. I'm now being told that the promotion is over and they don't have to honor my fulfillment. This is poor customer service any way you look at it.
Sold us tickets to Beetlejuice - Spanish version, but it wasn't labeled that. Then refused to refund them b/c it had already started. (Theater was not full.) No way for us to know it was in Spanish until it started. We support the bilingual offering, but don't speak Spanish!
I purchased 2 tickets for the Santa Clara AMC, and when went to scan my ticket that the attendant told me I had the wrong movie theater.I bought my ticket at the wrong Santa Clara site. I immediately contacted fandango, was put on hold for 20 minutes and than was told the had movie started 2 minutes ago and they could not make an exchange or refund. So the rep escalated it to corporate and I was denied a refund and was told it's policy not to give a refund after the movie had started. Pretty sad and I will never use them again. Very poor customer service. Never will I do business with you again and will let everyone know about my experience. O star for you guys I ended up buying tickets from the AMC direct and has to pay twice for my tickets.
Tip for consumers:
don't use FANDANGO. they only want you money and don't care if you made a honest mistake

Don't ever order tickets from them! Policy sucks you have to call two hours ahead inorder to exchange or get a refund. What if u have an emergency that pops up after they two hour window? These people can careless.
I ordered tickets for the wrong day. Tried to switch and they wouldn't let me. Kept getting an error message. Will never go through them again! Didn't want a refund. Just wanted to switch times. Terrible company and app.
I $#*!ing hate Fandango. I don't know where the $#*! they get off charging an 11% fee when they are the WORST. I only used them because I received a gift card for Christmas but it was such a $#*!ing hassle trying to order my tickets I almost the threw the $25 in the trash. The app doesn't even work. They kept saying the movie was sold out but then still showing that movie time as available. When I finally found a showtime that worked, it was a $#*!ing nightmare just trying to check out. Just buy your tickets at the theater it takes like 2 seconds.
After I paid for rental, I got a message it was unavailable (it's a stream...?!) Never showed up but charged me. Tried going through Fandango site to get answers and there login page wasn't working... said my email was invalid even though it was entered correctly. So I had to call and am still sitting on hold, when I should be half way through my movie by now. Horrible experience, how is this different from theft?
Was on hold for over 40 minutes to get a refund before the movie started and they told me its after the movie showtime. What a scam this company is. They should be reported to the BBC and investigated for fraudulent business practices. Do not waste your money and time. I hope this company goes bankrupt!
I purchased a ticket using a promo code, so when i couldn't make that exact showing, i couldn't use their online exchange service. When i called the help line, they put me on hold for 15 min then cut me off. The next time, i waited 45 min with no answer. I tried the live chat, but i kept getting cut off of there as well, which would put me further back in line. I still haven't been helped and at this point it's past the showtime so i don't even know if I'll get a refund without putting up a fight. I will never use Fandango again! I suggest that everyone else take my advice as well, unless, of course, you want to waste an entire day.
Company charged my PayPal account and then couldn't deliver the tickets either by print or text. Said their system did not show the confirmation number they emailed me. Said they would forward to a refunds department that would respond in 7-10 days. Have heard nothing and this is day 10. No one there seems to have any authority to do anything other than "pass along."
Tip for consumers:
DO NOT USE FANDANGO.
Accidentally bought a ticket for the incorrect day and used my $5 reward on that purchase. Called customer service to switch the day and they refused to reapply the $5 reward claiming it was non refundable. I would understand if I were not going to buy another ticket but I was literally purchasing a ticket for the exact same movie at the same time just for the following day. Really bad customer service, I don't plan on using fandango after this. What's the point of a reward system if you can't even use the reward.
Just to be clear. If you get hit by a car on your way to the theatre. You are not getting a refund. Unless you are in the paramedics busting out your phone for a chat that will never go through or convenientlyrics get documented. Do not use this app. It costs more money than purchasing in person anyway. The convenience charge is the same as adding another ticket to your cart. Take someone deserving instead of paying these stammered. They took me for $40. They're business should be illegal.
Used Fandango last night to buy tickets to a show 15 minutes later. When I clicked the purchase button it went to an error page. I woke up this morning and realized I got a confirmation number so I called customer service. I told them the purchase never went through from what I could see and if I could get a credit or refund. The request sounded simple enough but they said they would not give me a refund because it was not 2 hours before the show when I requested it. Horrible customer service, do not use them for your ticket purchases. The $12 was obviously too important for them to lose over a customer
My sister visited from England and tried to purchase 2 tickets for Snatched on her MasterCard. The transaction failed, so I then proceeded to purchase them with my debit card. That went through fine. The next day my sister checked her account to find they had taken $21.50 from her account. We have tried numerous times to sort this out and get a refund. Have even sent screenshot of the transaction to a Robi Antonio who works for Regal and is supposedly dealing with this matter. I was told by him to stop being dramatic and after 7 days of sending proof that the transaction took place still have not heard back, which means a fourth phone call and waiting at least 40 mins to get to speak to someone again! While it's only $21.50 it's the damn principal that they think it's ok to take money off people and give them nothing. Absolute terrible customer service.
Horrible. Just horrible. Tried to make a purchase tonight with gift cards to the movies. Convenience fees added, of course. There was an error. My mobile app wouldn't let me back in. Decided to go home. Got an email confirmation it went through. Called to get a refund, since I didn't use it. They are making me REpurchase tickets at my own cost and then will put the money back on my gift card so I get to deal with them again? Yeah, no thanks. Won't be recommending this company.
For two Christmas's I've been given a fandango "E" gift card. Their website is so convoluted, it doesn't even recognize "Dallas Tx Star Wars" as existing. Website tries to force you to sign up for VIP and gods knows what else. I've never even been able to get to the point of entering the gift card number, which is hellaciously long by the way (19 numbers) designed to make mistakes easy, giving them an excuse to void or 'error' it out? I feel bad for the relatives that spent money on this for me.
My sweet old Grandmother bought me a 25$ gift card for fandango during Christmas.
After many attempts to use it, I see a message popping up that says if the card starts with a '6006 please redeem in theater'. I was a but worried but went anyway, and it didn't work. They turned me away after saying that the theater cannot deal with fandango gift cards.
I'm not sure what is up with the company but this is wrong. Taking money for absolutely nothing, then wasting my time and Grandma's good will is offensive. I'm never dealing with this site again, and will tell all I know to not deal with it as well.
Someone over there should be ashamed, and I hope the company fails without ruining any employees lives.
TLDR; Fandango will take your money and give you nothing but frustration and extra charges. Absolute garbage company that isn't necessary but makes the experience actively worse. Shame
I purchased 5 tickets online with the wrong date. I purchased the ticket for the same day and had only 15 minutes prior to show time. I totally realize that this was my fault. I called Fandango immediately. I was place on hold for over an hour and never spoke with a customer service rep. I eventually disconnected from the call and I've lost $62. It would have been good customer service if someone from the company could have simply answered the phone and exchanged the tickets for another day. Is this company legit? I will never use them again and will spread the word. They have to do better with the respond time.
I strongly advise against ever using Fandango for buying tickets. On two occasions, all due to issues with the application, I got ripped off for a total of about $50. Their customer service is almost non-existent and spent hours on hold just to be treated poorly and refused any compensation. Trust me you're better off buying online directly from the movie theaters as Fandango seems to have become a scam nowadays, which is sad...
My husband was given 2 gift cards for blood donation for Fandango … what a joke! We followed the instructions on the card and the promo code was accepted. However, when we received our Amex charge listing, the amount was not included. I went thru the Fandango chat room to question this, and was told the promotion wasn't accepted even though their online transaction said otherwise. No help or assistance or compensation was offered…just "too bad, so sad" reply.
The worst of it is that when we went to the theater to see the acedemy award winning pic of the year, the theater was mostly empty. We could have sat almost anywhere, without the Fandango hassle, or service fees. Lesson learned.

Never ever use this site unless you
1 are purchasing tickets in advance
2 for a newly released movie
3 in a major metro area
4 on a weekend or holiday
Otherwise it's better to just buy your tickets at the box office as there is seldom a line..
I will use any means necessary to avoid using this company, and everyone who has a bad experience should tell the venue how much you hate Fandango. I bought some movie tickets from them a month ago but picked the wrong time, and I didn't notice until the day after the movie. I called and waited on hold for 45 minutes to speak to two robotic policy-drones who could see that I did not use the $47 worth of tickets but wouldn't do anything to help me out (of course I didn't expect a refund, but something like a $10 credit or something). Are they perhaps owned by that Satanic entity, Ticketmaster?
Reasons are simple and apparent:
1. You need to pay 10% Convenience Fee by using Fandango.
2. If you forgot to watch the movie, you will not be able to get refund or exchange a new ticket.
3. Really bad customer service, the live chat person whose name is Shevaughn is ruthless.
I was given two packs of three fandango gift cards. Two of them didn't even work, which doesn't make sense because other cards in the pack worked. I also purchase two tickets to "The Jungle Book" and I was never sent an email conformation or receipt of the purchase. I didn't figure this out until driving 30 minutes to the movie theater and it completely ruined my date. A couple days later I called Fandango's customer service department and the lady I talked to denied me a refund and couldn't have cared less about the terrible experience I had with Fandango.
Needless to say I am never going to use Fandango again and strongly suggest to use other means of purchasing tickets in advance or online.
Sold tickets fora showing a half hour after it starts? No way to rectify the problem? This comonY is exactly what's wrong with the industry where customers are at the mercy of a faceless entity with no reliable channels to correct problems. So much for doing business honestly and on good faith.
THey get ZERO stars... horrible customer service. I have been an avid movie goer for 50 years and this is the first time and last time I will ever use the ticketing service of FANDANGO... printed out their tickets and box office said they weren't good... had to go to car to retrieve phone to find email to find ticket to them go back into theatre... missed the first 15 minutes screwing around with this... and when I contacted FANDANGO the $#*! on the phone could have cared less... never again... no even an I'm sorry for your inconvenience. He suggested that I didn't know how to buy a ticket... anywho,,, their customer service department doesn't exist so don't stay on line with them... (funny enough it said the wait would be 3.2 minutes and it was 10.7 minutes!)... never again.
I have emailed customer support multiple times because I rented a movie and the file wouldn't play. I'm an IT professional, so I know my system was working fine and would play other movies. They never responded, all automated responses that kept telling me they are overwhelmed and apologize for not responding... for over 2 weeks! I will never give them any more of my money and I hope you don't either. This is ridiculous. I wish I could give zero stars.
