We recently visited Applebee's in order to take advantage of the Top Gun movie ticket promotion. For every $25 spent, you would receive a movie ticket. We spent $58, therefore earning 2 tickets. I submitted necessary info and they claimed my receipt was missing info. I submitted a photo and they sent my info to another department for further verification. I kept emailing to find out status of my tickets. Never a response from their customer service until my email today, again asking. I'm now being told that the promotion is over and they don't have to honor my fulfillment. This is poor customer service any way you look at it.
Sold us tickets to Beetlejuice - Spanish version, but it wasn't labeled that. Then refused to refund them b/c it had already started. (Theater was not full.) No way for us to know it was in Spanish until it started. We support the bilingual offering, but don't speak Spanish!
Useless fandango gift card. Tried to use, no good number. Showed a ticket, but no way to get at it. Tried again, site said invalad. Worst giftcard ever. The guest service at the theater said it was some internet thing? I ended up paying out of pocket to see the movie!
I bought tickets for 6 senior citizens and 5 were able to make it The 6th person was not feeling well and could not make it. We arrived 20 minutes early and the theater said only Fandango would be able to refund me for the one ticket. I tried to call Fandango but there was a long wait so connected to them through chat. After finally connecting, the movie had started about 3 minutes after connecting. I explained the situation to the chat associate and they said they could only provide a full refund if the movie had not started yet. I was out of luck. The associate said, I could ask the theater for the refund but the theater refused. The chat associate said I did not request the refund prior to the movie starting and I would not receive any refund.
This service is terrible. I will be sharing this story with all my friends and family and highly advise not to use Fandango. If you do, there is a good chance they will rip you off.
Purchased tickets via Fandango. Move theatre was actually closed. On the phone they told me to call Fandango to get a refund. 27 Minutes on Hold with Fandango got me to "Patrick W" whom told me to... wait for it - call the movie theatre for the refund. Oh, and while typing, hung up on me. He did apologize for not letting me know that the movie theatre was closed though. Boo..
Can someone explain to me why anyone needs Fandango to buy tickets for them and charge the consumer 13% to 18% for doing it? Have we as a society got to the point where we can't walk to a ticket counter and buy tickets? Fandango is the biggest ripoff company in business today and they should be investigated by the FTC and put out of business. They are parasites making money while doing nothing!
I received $45.00 Gift Card for FANDANGO... unfortunately my cousin did not know you can only purchase on line and a"service fee" is charged each time you use the gift cards. So sad that this company does this to customers. The balance left is $4.42 and sadly FANDANGO counts on this!... We won't use it because after they charge a "service fee" there will be less than $2.00 so all the monies will go to FANDANGO... will NEVER purchase anything from this company and will tell everyone not to use them!
The value in pre-purchasing your seats for a movie is only an added benefit when you are guaranteed to get the seat of choice when you arrive at the movie. This is what Fandango offers. However, not only do they not guarantee you will get the seat, but they do not care when you finally get through to their understaffed customer chat line to report the issue. They charge a hefty convenience fee but don't ofter an ounce of customer service! Save your money, buy at the theatre box office!
They say you get refund if you call before show. Yeah right they keep you on hold and they make sure they answer after show starts so they can denied your refund. The customer service is rude and they hang up when you make a point idiots. Never again bunch of scammers.
Fandango does nothing but steal your money. Their online chat is no help as all they do is cite the rules back to you. Horrible experience with no resolution. I bet Fandango is laughing all the way to then bank with my hard earned money!
I received a gift card on this, I tried to add it to the website, there is a convenience fee of 1.75 for each ticket, also my gift card started with 6006, and the website says that it cannot process any of this gift card starting with 6006! I went to the movie theater and told me that I can redeem this online only!
Terrible, waste of money.
Never never never give anyone one of this cards! They will never be able to use all the money that's on the card unless they keep adding tickets and then have to pay for the rest. Can't use it to buy popcorn or anything else! Wish I would have know this before I got this card!
They did not want to give me a refund for 2 adult movies tickets that showed up as "standard" but when I purchased them it showed up as "3D". My eyesight cannot handle 3D screen and I explained to them and they still did not want to refund me or give me credit score. Do not waste your time purchasing from Fandango.
I bought tickets through fandango where I was not informed of the "convenience fee" until my order was confirmed. I still had to go to the ticket window aka not convenient. When I arrived with my 6 year old to pick up our tickets I was informed that the show was cancelled but they could refund my money. I received NO notification.

You could really make a lot more money and provide much better customer service, if, when searching for a movie, it is not playing in your current city, you tell the user where the next nearest location is.

This company only wants your money, and does not care about satisfied customers at all. I was going to be late for a show, so i tried to exchange my tickets right before my showime. The website wouldn't allow that, and when I chatted with customer service, they basically just kept restating the return policy.
Like quite a lot of people I purchased tickets 40 minutes before show time only to discover that the tickets were assigned to the wrong theater. Tough to say whose fault that was. I tried to fix this immediately but the "chat line" was a 28 hour hold and with more than 2 hours hold time it took me 3 days to get throgh on the phone. It took them a week to respond to my email. Of course, no refund or exchange. When a person goes online to buy movie tickets, Fandango will pop up first in a search. Don't be lured in as you are likely to lose your money and never see the movie. Theaters like AMC allow customers to purchase online. Why lose your movie ticket money to some shady middleman thief?
Had the tickets reserved for 2 months so me and my mom could watch this movie and make a mom and daughter day out of it. Come to find out the show had been canceled because the auditorium it was going to be in was down and so I try to get refunded for the tickets and fandango didn't want to refund me after I had called and complained. Sense they and the theater are linked together somehow they should have sent an email out saying the show had been canceled and everyone was going to be refunded. Will not be going to the theater anymore and will not be dealing with fandango.com anymore as they completely ruined this day for me and my mom. Should not have had to deal with this after having the tickets reserved for 2 months for the movie we were going to see. Very upset with these people and I hope they end up paying for it in the end
TERRIBLE customer service, do not waste your money.
My daughter got the book seriers Divergent, 2 of the books had peelable stickers to redeem for $8 toward a movie ticket. Once it was peeled the codes were not there, like they had been imbedded in the cover of the book. I contact their customer service and repeatedly send emails with 2 attached pictures of the coupons. Everytime it sends back saying no attachments. I talked to a guy on the phone, he was NO help at all. I asked him to take my number and he said well I can't call you back. And their email is so poor that you have to fill out your reply in a specific part of the email or they will not get it. Epic fail.
They incorrectly charged my credit card instead of the gift card I was trying to use and then told me they couldn't fix it unless I created an account and requested a refund. I did what they requested and they said they would issue a refund minus the fees. Two weeks later, still no refund. Now they say they need screenshots of the transaction in my bank account to submit to corporate. Why can't they look at this own records? And after they tell you something in support chat, they disconnect just to get you to go away. They act like scam artists. Never use Fandango. If I ever get another Fandango gift card, I'm throwing it away!
This review is partly in response to David S. - I left Fandango nearly a year ago after being a regular user of their service for purchasing movie tickets for 12 years. They refused to honor their worry free return policy when I couldn't get thru to their customer support before a movie showing due to extremely long hold times and slow or crashing web pages on their site.
The good news is there are much better options out there now. AMC - a large movie chain sells tickets in advance directly thru their website (I just checked - they are selling Last Jedi tickets) and they have upgraded all their theaters for reserved seating - great interface for picking the exact seats you want to see the movie from. Hopefully AMC has theaters in your area or you find a similar experience with the website for the local movie theaters near you!

Many local theaters now sell movie tickets online - avoid Fandango and have a better experience in your movie watching!

Purchased tickets this past august through Fandango app. Charged me twice. Purchased tickets again last month and charged me twice yet again. Never received an email confimation until the second attempt, but then the first confirmation just happened to pop up along with the second. Took them 3 days to get to me just to tell me to call customer service. When i finally called, i was given a refund for the movie last month but nothing for august.
Fandango has a policy that states you have to request a refund or exchange 2 hours before the start time of the movie you purchased tickets for. We bought tickets 45 minutes before the start time and never received a confirmation number so we were unable to print our tickets at the kiosk. Arriving 10 minutes late, we decided to purchase new tickets so we wouldn't miss the movie. I spent 2 hours on hold with their customer service and was simply told "tough luck, you would have had to request the exchange 2 hours before the start time."... so we were screwed as soon as we purchased the tickets. We will not be using Fandango again!
Bought a dinner and movie gift pack for relatives. It said on package could be used for Loews or AMC... it neglected to mention to had to buy tickets online in advance (and from reading the reviews of others here, with a service charge) According to customer service rep Tiffany W. It explains this inside the package, unfortunately, I did not tear open the package in the store to read the "fine print". I feel duped, and would not use them again... in fact I will work to avoid fandango and would tell others to do the same

I ordered Star War tickets for 1 city and was sold tickets for a different city. I didn't know I had a problem until after purchase was made 40 minutes before start of movie. You can't request a refind or ticket exchange from Fandango for anything less than 2 hours before the show.
Normally while supplies last is an IN STORE OFFER... not a option for online promo codes! Wellllll... this was the excuse I got f I'm fandango when I called to inquire about my code not working and the guy was a complete jerk. No customer service
I ordered my tickets, then realized i wouldn't be able to make it due to work related responsibilities so I called to cancel. I first called the movie theater who told me i had to directly speak to fandango's customer service. I was on hold for a good ten minutes. The woman who answered my call was very respectful and apologetic however they lied and said i had already picked up my tickets so i could not get a refund. Which is absolute bull. They tried telling me i picked up my tickets at 8:15 when I only just got out of work at 9:20. Im very upset by this. Fandango has definitely lost a customer. I will not be taken advantage of, i did not pick up my tickets and now i do not get a refund because they just feel like keeping my money which I work very hard for.
