“Terrible customer service”

We recently visited Applebee's in order to take advantage of the Top Gun movie ticket promotion. For every $25 spent, you would receive a movie ticket. We spent $58, therefore earning 2 tickets. I submitted necessary info and they claimed my receipt was missing info. I submitted a photo and they sent my info to another department for further verification. I kept emailing to find out status of my tickets. Never a response from their customer service until my email today, again asking. I'm now being told that the promotion is over and they don't have to honor my fulfillment. This is poor customer service any way you look at it.

Sold us tickets to Beetlejuice - Spanish version, but it wasn't labeled that. Then refused to refund them b/c it had already started. (Theater was not full.) No way for us to know it was in Spanish until it started. We support the bilingual offering, but don't speak Spanish!

I have always bought movie tickets with fandango. This last time their app redirected me to a webpage and changed the day of purchase. I called for an exchange but since it was after showtime they had no ability to help. They would not do a courtesy of a one time exchange for a faithful customee

I bought an advanced purchase for star wars on 12/19/15, and I get an internal error message after purchase. I then get 3 charges on my card, and I cannot get a response from them. My first time user, and awful customer service. Trying to contact someone to get my money back.

I bought tickets through fandango through Venmo and I assumed I would get a confirmation email with the QR code. However when I came to the movie theater I found out that I only got a confirmation email from Venmo who obviously doesn't have the ticket. Completely scammed me and doesn't answer phone when I tried to dispute. Absolutely horrible. Never use it. Save some money

I bought a gift card that could be used for movies. Instead I got a card that only allows tickets to be bought on-line and then charges a $3.40 convenience (?) fee! Thought the gift card was a convenience, NOT. Will NEVER buy again.

I will never again purchase movie tickets from Fandango. I purchased 2 tickets for Manchester by the Sea for 12.26. When we got there, the movie was not playing. I contacted Fandango and heard back a week and a half later. They told me the movie was playing and they will not refund my money. So, they do not honor their customers and basically called me a liar.

This company is a total rip off! My boyfriend and I tried to redeem our gift card that we got for our anniversary and received an error message on the site that the gift card was invalid. This was our first time using it. We tried calling the customer support line and chat and was told they weren't able to do anything about it, because their cite is under maintenance and didn't know when they would be done. Totally given the run around. I garuntee when we try to use this gift card again, we will get the same damn error message and we will call back and either be told it was a different issue or their damn website is still "under maintenance". We will NEVER use this company again and let out friends know about our experience. Based on other reviews it's clear they don't value their customers.

I have never used the fandango website but the iPhone app rocks. The only thing you need to be aware of is that you can't print out the tickets so you need to make sure you have the credit card you used to buy the tickets if you do it far in advance.

You buy the tickets on their website. They say they will send a confirmation email. They don't. You contact their support chat and no one answers (20 minutes waiting so far).
So. Let's review. You paid them to get you a ticket. You now have to go to the box office at the theater and wait and line and straighten out their screwup.
How is this better than just going to the theater and buying the ticket?
Oh yeah, you can't get refunds either. It is the definition of less than worthless.

Tip for consumers:
Don't do it. Most theaters have their own ticketing site. It's less money, it's more reliable and the DO give refunds.

Why buy movietickets company but not honor their gift cards? Received 2 movietickets as gift but since they are part of fandango now you get sent to fandango to purchase tickets but they don't honor movietickets gift cards even though they bought the company.

To all the peraons that say oh the website magically changed the performance of the movie, you are liars, fandango give you two chances to review your purchase details to see if that is exactly what you want. You people do not read, the Customer care reps have a strict policy which they must uphold if they wanna keep their jobs so stop being such idiots and read. Also the purchase and refund/exchange policies are there for you to read, the customer care reps can not change the policies neither can the manager, write to corporate if you have a big problem with it...

I purchased two tickets to see a movie and Fandango did not send the tickets to my phone. We were unable to enter the theater and had to purchase a second set of tickets. I have contacted Fandango twice and they refuse to issue a refund for the tickets that they failed to deliver. Do not deal with this company, they refuse to refund money when they do not deliver the product purchased. I have filed a dispute with paypal and am awaiting the result.

After I entered the number on the back of my Fandango card, it told me I had $8 on the card. I tried to order a ticket and it said the card number was invalid or had expired. I thought it would subtract $8 from the total, but it took all from Paypal, including $1.35 "convenience fee," when I didn't even get to use the Fandango card. I would never purchase a Fandango card. I am out $8.

Friends gave me a gift card and I went to the website and created an account and logged in and enter the information for the card. Mistake. I went back 2 days later and nothing is there. I contacted the live chat to be informed you can't save gift card information in the site and without the card we can't help you. Explained the site did not say you can't save information but it did say redeem the card. Don't buy gift cards for fandango you will lose your money. I tried to swipe it Cinemark only to be told I had to go to the website of Fandango and redeem. Wrong. Just give your another gift card or money. Please don't waste your money on this gift card.

My girlfriend and I booked tickets to see a movie, and ended up not going because her father had a stroke. I contacted customer service the next day and although I couldn't get my cash back I was issued a Fandango credit which means the money we used for this movie can be used to see the next one. Very thankful to the staff.

I tried to purchase tickets online for a movie. The Fandango site timed out and gave me an error. So we rushed to the theater and bought the tickets there. The movie was at 7:30. When I got home there was an email from Fandango stamped 11:15pm (well after the movie) congratulating me on my ticket purchase! I contacted them and they said there was nothing they could do because the movie was over and they would send it to corporate and they would get back to me... they never did. Luckily I paid with PayPal so I tried to contact them through PayPal. Still no response. I escalated it to a case dispute and they didn't even contact PayPal who proceed to side on my part. Here's the kicker... Fandango didn't even have enough funds in their account for PayPal to get my whole purchase back! Horrible, or really no, customer service. We will never use them again.

I purchased tickets for our local theater. Upon entering the the theater I find that I cannot use fandango tickets there. Paid for tickets n when I got my charge card both charges r on it. The theater n fandango. Called fandango waited 30 minutes no answer n left a call back number. No call. Emailed no response. Called the next day n waited 1 hr. N 30 minutes n still waiting. Unbelievable. Would not recommend them to anyone besides tickets r more expensive through them.

Fandango reserved my tickets in the wrong state, so I didn't get to see the movie, and Fandango refused to in any way refund the service fee they charge for the tickets. The theater in the other state actually gave me my money for the movie I could not see, and they said they frequently get calls from people who gave Fandango money for a movie in the wrong state.

I am 81 years old. I purchased a movie ticket, in advance, so I would not have to stand
In line at the food counter. I thought I would be able to print the ticket out.
I not only had to pay a fee for this ticket, but also still have to stand in the line, and show my credit card. What a scam! One can request a refund, but still have to pay the fee.

Make sure you read their agreement that their lawyers wrote if you want to get your money back. Even if you accidentally purchased tickets at the wrong movie theater because their website made it very discrete that you were clicking on a theater they were promoting. Instead of selecting my movie theater and seats on the following screens, I got a purchase confirmation". When I canceled and requested a refund, I got my money back minus $2.70. When I called, they said it was a "convenience fee" and that I should have read the agreement. They conveniently stole my money.

I have a Fandango gift card. When I tried to use the card to pay for a a movie today, it told me the combination of Card# and Claim code isn't valid--I tried multiple variations of claim code and card# entries to no avail. None of the examples of gift cards on the website matched mine. When I checked the card on the website, it told me I have $25. Then when I tried to contact customer service number, it told me to call back later and hung up on me. When I tried to chat, I was told the wait time was 39 minutes... really!?! Since this is my first time using Fandango, the impression was not good and nothing that would make me want to use the website again.

Tip for consumers:
Horrible first impression on all fronts. Avoid

I purchased advanced tickets using Fandango promotion codes as part of the payment ($8.00 savings per ticket). I called Fandango 48 hours before the show to change the showtime to an earlier showtime. I was not changing the movie, the date, or the theater: just trying to get tickets to an earlier show. Fandango said the $8.00 promotional codes were now void and had no value.

I agreed that the codes could only be used once. However once used, the value of the codes had been transferred to the tickets. Fandango said the value of the tickets was not the printed value and subtracted $8.00 from each ticket.

This is stealing! The studios paid Fandango the value of the promotion codes. Then Fandango stole that value from me. Fandango is a crook!

Tip for consumers:
Terrible customer service. Look at the overall rating.

Purchased tickets and selected my theater and Showtime, which the closest one to us is 40 minutes away. We showed up and they couldn't find our tickets so I checked my email and it was an entire different theater and we already missed the Showtime. I had an online chat because it said I couldn't be refunded because the show had already started. The Rep. Told me it was my fault and that they couldn't do anything then ended the chat. Wow! Don't use this

I would NEVER put anyone I love through the pain of dealing with this B. S. scam! The one good thing is that I receive the gift cards as gifts and I've never spent my hard earned money on this and lost it. The convenience fee is a total crock of $#*! because you can't even use the card at the box office. Seriously? Umm, hint for the $#*!s at Fandango: When you are scamming people out of their hard earned money don't make it so obvious. The fact that you can't use at the concession stand is a joke and the fact that you can't access the left over money on the card... Seriously $#*!tiest gift cards I've ever dealt with...

Ordered tickets for a particular date. Tickets were sent to me for a date I did not pick. Cant get an exchange because I cant get a real human when I try to contact customer service, the chat feature is useless. 20 minute wait and just when you think your getting closer the wait time increases. What a scam they are. Was a first time user now I am a last time user. They are terrible.

Fandango sold us a movie in Spanish. The movie theater is telling us we have to go through fandango to get a refund. We purchased new tickets because the movie was getting sold out, & because we didn't get a refund before the movie started they will not refund us.
