HotelTonight's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and unresolved booking issues. Many users report frustrations with the app's reliability, including failed reservations and lack of support during emergencies. Complaints about hidden fees and misleading hotel descriptions are prevalent, contributing to a sense of distrust. While some customers appreciate the competitive pricing, the overall sentiment suggests a lack of value for loyalty, with minimal benefits for repeat users. This combination of service shortcomings and negative experiences has led to a growing caution among potential customers.

Terrible. I booked a hotel that due to road closures was not accessible. I had to book a different hotel because I could not access the hotel booked on HotelTonight. Despite this, HotelTonight would not issue a refund or credit. Inconceivable that any business in the hospitality industry would review the situation, and come to the conclusion that they cannot offer a refund. Again, there was no route to the hotel. Yet they still refused to refund. NEVER book on HotelTonight. Stay away!
HotelTonight staff was friendly upon check in. Room is clean and cleaned daily. Breakfast in the morning is a good selection to chose from. Have a work out room with one tread mill.
We booked a hotel for my sons birthday weekend. We wanted to give him a fun experience so we booked a nice hotel with a pool. They never stated on the app that the pool is 18+ years of age only. Contacted them and all they will do is credit $25 towards the next stay. We could have picked a much less expensive hotel with a pool had their information been correct. They stated that they dont know all policies of the hotels. Thats kind of important information for a service like this.
Several hours after booking at Hotel Derek in Houston the price went down. They stated "Sorry we don't match our own price discounts". What a joke. BEWARE... better to call hotel directly and ask for the same rate. What a joke, can't wait for a class action lawsuit over double taxation.
Had an awful stay at a hotel using HotelsTonight. Caught the hotel in a documented lie when disputing the charge. HotelsTonight still sided with hotel. During and following the incident HotelsTonight was exceedingly unhelpful. Told me if I disputed the charge my account would be flagged for fraud. Despite my calm demeanor and genuine interest in wanting to understand the situation, I was hung up on by HotelsTonight customer service repeatedly. Even when trying to close down my account after the incident was over I was hung up on. Will never use again. Terrible business practices and customer service. Avoid.
Made a reservation via hotel tonight. Hotel did not receive it, no way to contact can anyone at 9:40 on a Saturday night. At great inconvenience, had to go to a different hotel. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THESE THIEVES.
Just wanted to say that we had the worst stay ever for a last minute booking with this app at - Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa
******* Park Lantern
Dana Point, CA *******
The hotel bed was extremely uncomfortable and from another century. The hotel did not care and offered $25 compensation for issue. Marriott C/S was no help either - whatever the hotel offered is good enough with them. Will never use this app and stay at a Marriott Hotel again. Going to stick with Hilton - we should have know better.
I booked a room at the Hyatt Regency in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on June 20 through Hotel Tonight's app on my iPhone. Fast forward one month, I'm looking at my bill, and I have 2 charges for the same night's stay, one from Hotel Tonight, and one from the Hyatt Regency. This is not ok. When trying to fix this problem, I'm on a 3-way call with my credit card company and Hotel Tonight, and they hang up on us.
I will not be using Hotel Tonight going forward, and if you do use it, I suggest you scrutinize your bank statement or credit card statement to make sure you haven't been double charged.
HT Cancelled my account after I got to Level 3 and stated that I posted my referral code on a website, which I do not recall doing. Don't even recall getting a referral account credit ever. HT never responded back when I had wanted to know more info or even wanted to have my CC information removed, just totally blocked me from getting into my account and unresponsive. Poor way of handling a good customer.
HT could have given me a warning or could have handled better. I recommend going to Booking.com on a suggestion a friend had made to me for comparable prices. Buyer beware.
I used the Hotel Tonight app on 6/24/17 Due to its promise of the lowest rate. They actually charged a rate much higher than the hotel and other sites. The staff at the hotel were surprised about the cost difference and the receipt they gave me versus what hotel tonight actually told them vs what they charged me, which was much higher. When I received proof of the charge difference at the hotel, I called the company, The gentleman was extremely unprofessional and stated repeatedly that they should not have given me the receipt and document showing their considerable up charge. That's all. No accountability. Apparently this is what they do. Let the Buyer Beware.
I had the worse customer service experience with them ever. They will steal your money - STAY AWAY! A hotel they had listed lied about the accommodations they provided. I tried to get a refund, but was given the usual rigamarole about non-refundable charges and how they had their hands tied. NO advocacy for the customer at all. Despite the hotel lying about the services the hotel offered on its website, they refused to issue a refund. Their customer service was also terrible, stuck to a script, and had absolutely no mind of their own. The same idiot mistakes United Airlines made this company perpetuates. Do not book with them!
Yesterday I came back from mountain biking in the middle of the woods to find an email indicating I had made a reservation in a hotel I had used in the past with one of the stored cards I had with HotelTonight. It was already the evening. I called them and let them know it was a kustake since I was in no need for a hotel, was not looking for it and I was in the middle of the forest at 11 am. They came back to me with an email indicating my transaction had been deemed valid... basically "too baaaad, we do not give a damn!". So there you go. They had been good until... they screwed it all up...
Super easy to use and beautiful, streamlined interface. I got a last minute hotel in NYC for a price so good I think it was a mistake. Idk but I'm happy with it!
Worst experience of my life and horrible customer service. This weird e-mail is what they sent me: When our processors spot activity that looks out of place, we put a stop to it right away to protect our fellow HTers and partner properties. It looks like your account was automatically disabled as a matter of security. We hate to say goodbye to a fellow traveler, but unfortunately were not able to support bookings on this account or any other accounts in your name.
They suck, the customer service sucks, don't use this company. They tricked me into paying for a room that was unavailable then didn't refund me.
This was the hotel email I received and Hotel Tonight nor Embassy ever process a refund as they stated in the email. Not worth my time, I had to dispute this transaction with my credit card company!
Hello Mr. Gast,
I do apologize that we were unable to speak yesterday. I left a message on your room phone with my office number, but since I was able to get your email address, wanted to follow up this morning. I am not in the office today, but wanted to apologize for the issues you experienced. The hotels tonight reservations do not come through electronically and my staff is usually very good about watching for reservations via fax. I will speak to them about the importance of ensuring that the machine is checked on a regular basis to ensure a smooth check in process.
I did speak with my Housekeeping Manager yesterday on why the room was not properly serviced prior to your arrival. She is pulling the assignments from that day to review with me on Monday as the room cleanliness is an area that we take very seriously.
I have also emailed my Chief Engineer to have your room inspected by an outside pest control company this week. We do not have issues with roaches, as they are just not common for us and our hotel layout. We do sometimes get palmed bugs that are native to Arizona and the palm trees found through the courtyards, but again those are not super common during this season to get in through the balcony doors. Usually they are most active in late spring, early summer, when the trees are in their trimming process.
Regardless of all of this, your stay should not have been effected by any of these things. I have a great staff here at the hotel that usually performs better than this, and we obviously dropped the ball on your stay. I have copied my front office manager Ahmed, who you spoke with this morning and asked him to remove the bill for the night of 11/24. You should not have to pay for the issues that we can caused.
I hope that if you are in the Tempe area again, you would give us another chance to show you what a great hotel and team we have. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any other questions, or if you would like to speak further, I will be in the office on Monday.
I hope we did not ruin your holiday week, and that you have safe travels where the weekend takes you.
Thank you again,
--

This website is fantastic. Heard about it on the Today show. Booked a fabulous hotel room for about 30% less than when I tried to book on the hotel website. Upgraded to a waterfront room for just a little more. Super great deals!
Its an amazing app very handy. Easy to navigate-user friendly interface. This app has amazing deals for last minute reservations where you would normally expect to pay more. The booking process is very simple and straight forward.
I've found some great deals on Hotel Tonight. I'm happy to report they don't make you download the app anymore. However some of the hotels they list are not quite as nice as they appear (sort of like how Airbnb makes some rentals look much nicer than they actually are) so make sure to check Tripadvisor reviews too before booking. Also Kayak I noticed also has some last minute deals so it pays to check that as well. But on the whole Hotel Tonight is very useful.
Went on a long car trip and travelling was way longer than I expected so I missed the hotels i booked previously but thanks to Hotel Tonight we found the so much needed bed overnight.
Answer: Hotel Tonight will find a way to rip you off, you can count on that.
Answer: Total scam. False advertising. Room and hotel nothing as it was posted.
