People there to help OK but I feel they did not have enough info to really help, I finally got through on the phone and was helped, but online or on my phone the constant requirement for 6 digit codes is daunting, no simple log in and then go to the service needed, every move within requires a 6 digit code to go forward, as far as I am concerned it is to vulnerable to hacking and to many steps to get what you need, I have already been in touch with congressional reps to get it abolished, removed, deleted from all VA systems! This is definitely not a KISS principal KEEP IT SIMPLE SIMON at any level!

Was quick and easy to use, got through the requirements easily. The last time I used IDme was approximately 3 years ago, and it was a complete nightmare. I gave up. I couldn't get through anything, the system kept throwing errors left and right, and it wouldn't recognize any documents, so frustrating. This time wasn't anything like that at all, the process was smooth. What a relief.
This service has gotten better. The customer service was already great, but now it is outstanding and so are the agents. I am still satisfied using ID me.
Effective it was quick and self explanatory. Simple and easy. Really no logic it's your info but the software does not lag or at least it didn't earlier.

This new requirement to use ID.me for gaining access to the online 1099 report forms is nothing but a hassle. It took nearly an hour to jump through all the hoops required to establish the fact that I am who I say I am. When it came to the part about scanning the driver's license it took three tries to get the system to accept the photos sent. Then you have to do a video selfie. While it did accept mine on the first try, I don't know how mobility challenged people can do it themselves as you have to hold the phone absolutely steady or you have to start over. There has got to be a simpler, less time consuming system!
I trusted the site with VERY personal info that no one should give out. But, for the IDme site to ask if it was ok with me to give my info to other companies made realize that this site can not be trusted.
Most everything was well explained, except why pic denials of my ID were not met with any feedback. I think the pics of my ID were too dark, or marked, or had flash reflections, but I was never told what the issue was. I eventually took an approved pic in daylight. That was only frustrating issue with sign up process, for me. Everything else was well explained throughout the process.
I began to create my account on my laptop. The verification process demanded that I move to my phone to take pictures of identification and upload from there. My phone was not adept at finishing up my verification process because I couldn't return to where is was directed, because I was on the phone. If I could have finished on my laptop, I would have been fine.
I had no issues with setting the service up, it was easy to use. Document upload was smooth and issue-free as well. Taking the selfie photo wasn't too hard; it just took me a minute to figure out I wasn't close enough for it to take properly, but it instructs you as you go. The login to the IRS failed, though, at the end of the process. However, I was able to go to the IRS website and log in with the ID.me login, so it worked fine in that respect.
Make certain that your memory is not low, otherwise the documents will not load up. As long as you have your access code, then you're able to reload should there be any issues.
Stay away if you can. Their technology is weak. They will likely leak your info later. They can't even figure out how to send an email and blame the customer when they can't.
It was challenging to verify my identity, but it was for the greater good. I believe that anyone with malicious intent could breach this Gold standard service.

Had to verify my identity, needed to provide additional information unfortunately, but the process was overall quick and easy. I was able to be connected with an agent in less than 5 minutes.
It took at least 6 attempts to photograph the back and front of my driver's license before the website approved my ID; I almost gave up. But then I remembered that I would never be able to reach a live person at the NY State unemployment office for help (they have never answered the phone in the two weeks I'd been calling to process my claim AND always disconnected me after obtaining all of my personal info; I finally called Governor Hochul's office for assistance), so I decided to continue re-photographing my driver's license until ID.me was satisfied. It took almost an hour before their website relented and verified that I am indeed me.

It began when ID.me’s CEO and founder Blake Hall, a decorated Army Ranger, watched a military veteran display their DD214 separation paperwork to a store employee to claim a military discount. The document held far more information than was needed to verify military service. Exposing so much personal information for a single benefit was risky and unnecessary. There had to be a better way.
We set out with the mission to make community verification easier and more secure. We began with the military community, but quickly grew to include students, teachers, nurses, first responders, and government employees.
