The ID.me seemed to work until the end when the choice was to fix what was outdated and nothing was outdated. It went through and then didn't sync properly with the reason I was trying to apply it. I never did get to place a food order. Human being needed for communication and implementation.
This service is a forced-use service to access the IRS. You have no choice but to use it. However, the government and its contractors have a long history of abusing the data provided to them, not taking appropriate steps to secure the data, and you have no recourse when they do both.

They let someone illegally set up an IRS account in my name and now I can't file my taxes online because I can't access the PIN the criminal they let set up my account created. They had one job and they failed completely.

Total not user friendly when signing up was already signed but then program changed and need photos and never could up load them and tried many many time and message back something went wrong and was working on it and never was fixed

Like I explained before it is very hard for a senior citizens which do not have that much knowledge on technology to try and get to go through this like I said before it took me 3 months just to even get this far I don't understand why they I'm making it so hard for veterans to even get into my health E vet.
So I won't lie it took me some time to do everything but it was worth the wait. The video call doesn't take long and then as soon as some cam.get into ssa.gov.

The self sign-up process was not user friendly. If you are an older person not computer savvy it was very frustrating. The verification process seemed to be on a loop. We had to do the same thing multiple times only to get to a point that we could not get past. The over-use of authentication codes was frustrating. After an hour we finally gave up. We then started over using the video sign-up. The agent was very good and very patient - props to her. If you're trying to log in to the VA and have another option - use it.

Super annoying service. Despite being given literally everything it asked for, it gave an error of not being able to find me and had to speak to a live agent. What's the point of having a "smart online IDing service" if you just have to speak to a person anyways? Also the TaC state your VERY sensitive info is kept on the server, after verifying which seems dangerous at best.
