I had faught hard regaining my account from suspension, it took two years after suspicious activity. I was resilient and kept sending in proof to back up my complaint. I now have access to my me account when I received the email, stating my account was no longer on suspension, it made my day and whole weekend happy!
It took me several times to understand what I needed to do because I'm really not that computer savvy. But once I figured it out how to use the website, it was very easy. I sincerely appreciate all that was involved to verify my information. And taking a selfie was icing on the cake! I knew then that my information couldn't be easily accessed by scammers. I wish other websites would use selfies to help verify my identity.

Having a video call was so easy and comfortable it took about 30 seconds to truly verify who I was because even with all the other options I didn't have any of them which was upsetting until the video call because they can verify in person without going all the way down to the IRS thank you ID.me
I was very surprised that signing into my information was that easy. I also am very impressed because it seems that the security system is well maintained and thoroughly managed. I am hoping that the integrity of the system is never compromised.
When setting up my ID.me account, I tried to use the automated identification verification path. When I entered my phone number, the 9s were replaced by 0s. I initially thought I mis-typed and tried again, same result. On my third try, I took screenshots to prove to myself that I was not mis-typing. Verified.
This is a special level of bad UI design. I can only describe the experience of ID.me not being able to remember the numbers from one screen to the next as Kafkaesque.
Thankfully, the same screen worked when I used the option with a video call.
I At first got a account on the site due to an injury that I had that shattered part of my school and I was just trying to get Disability and housing assistance because I had been through a lost mostly everything. I think started researching and found that there are ways to get grants same service that I was looking into. My dream is always to start a business in my own. I had a lot of setbacks not much money. Some credit cards went through my savings during that time I was able to research like crazy I used to be an eBay and Amazon seller and I was always really good at it and I like it a lot. I tend to get over excited and click on a new page before I researched half of one page and then that thing I knew I have like 50 pages open, but it doesn't work like that and it will kick you off the site try and will question your Authenticity, which is something very good whenever it comes To moving money across the world
I needed to sign in to the IRS website, but the process was complicated. I noticed that ID.me also offers a way to sign in to the SSA.gov website, so I applied for a login ID. You only need your original personal documents, such as your passport and Social Security Card. They have a list of documents that you can use to ID yourself. It was very easy to set up. Now, I can also use this ID with the state website.
I went to a lot of hassle trying to use the ID.me website to log into Social Security. After uploading what they requested, I was never able to access the Social Security website. I was caught in an endless loop of being transferred between ID.me and Social Security, ID.me and Social Security, etc. etc. Etc. I never could log into Social Security using ID.me. I wonder if using another way. And I would never recommend anybody to use ID.me. It is just a total waste of time!

It began when ID.me’s CEO and founder Blake Hall, a decorated Army Ranger, watched a military veteran display their DD214 separation paperwork to a store employee to claim a military discount. The document held far more information than was needed to verify military service. Exposing so much personal information for a single benefit was risky and unnecessary. There had to be a better way.
We set out with the mission to make community verification easier and more secure. We began with the military community, but quickly grew to include students, teachers, nurses, first responders, and government employees.
We built partnerships with hundreds of retailers and expanded into regulated sectors like government, healthcare, and financial services with legal identity verification for high-risk transactions.
Today, we’re building a digital identity network where users verify their identity once, and never have to re-verify their identity again across any organization where ID.me is accepted.
