ID.me failed to deliver verification email and failed to respond to multiple requests for assistance. It took 5 months of periodically retrying and sending new requests to finally get help. Eventually resolution was deletion of the account by ID.me and starting over. Second time worked to create account. But lack of any help for months was ridiculous. And failure to deliver simple verification email is disturbing.
I tried for two days to verify my identity just to submit my Pennsylvania state income tax form. I uploaded my driver license AND passport and they still required a video chat. The idiot said he couldn't see me and kept telling me to allow access to my camera. It was ON!
Having to verify an account with ID Me just to log in to an already verified government account is just redundant by adding extra steps to verify your identity. Am sure they are getting paid for the ID Me but is it really worth it? If you log in to your account and something is wrong, then report it otherwise go on about your day with less interference from a 2nd or 3rd party
I'm an older adult who doesn't feel proficient in the use of technology and smartphone. But after a sputtering start, I decided to give it a go and was finally successful in taking necessary photos and uploading documents. So best to be bold and give it a try and persevere.
I had trouble with getting verified though the self service and had to go to the video call option. I did not have to wait long for the video call and it was easy and quicker then i thought. After that i was good to go.
I haven't use id me for so time ago and I figured I'd be going to be like everything else and redirect me 50 other ways and to take forever to get in but hey there it was everything was easy fast uploaded everything perfectly for me and it was just an overall amazing experience thank you
Difficult setting up the account…finally got it done and documents uploaded only for the app not recognize my password…changed password multiple times with no success…now my personal info is out there in cyberspace with no way to access my account…I call BS on this company
If you love errors messages, hunting down documents, fighting with shadows phone cameras and lighting glare issues, i mean if you have a glamour photo studio setup you'll be ok, oh if you have old arthritic hands bad eyes, and if you have a couple of hours with nothing to do then this i.d. me site is for you. Hope you enjoy jumping through a lot of hoops
They offer to allow to use passport.
Will decline the passport ID Card, Passport photo card, then ask to upload a driver's license and social security card and will maintain all of this indefinitely unless you formerly request they delete your account. Absolutely unacceptable in this day and age of cyber security threats for any business to maintain an entire buffet of information to be used for identity theft.
Then after scanning all the documents because they decline the dozen photos, they tell you you have to wait 3 days to get the final verification of your identity. Then you have a 40 minute wait to have a video call with an agent who they takes a recording of you holding up all your documents that they once again will store indefinitely until you delete your account or a cyber terrorist swipes it from the service.
0 out of 10 experience I would recommend only to someone who wants their identity stolen
I tried to upload many different official documents to prove that I am a student and none were accepted. After more than 10 failed trials, I gave up and tried again the next day with one of the docs that I had previously uploaded and was rejected and it finally worked. Safe to say their AI for scanning documents is terrible, so brace yourself with a lot of patience if you need that student validation.
