Sizes in knit tops have become totally unreliable. This season Medium has become the new Large...JJill has been my source for these tops for years...every thing from shoulder-to- Hip length, sleeves, neckline is now larger and looser The rounded hems are long and clingy. So disappointing. I give up.
Third time in past six months with online ordering. When I call to correct their issues, get bad attitude. Rudeness and lack of accountability. Excuses for J Jill lack of professionalism and honesty. Consistently overcharge, will not honor their sales promotions., will not refund promptly, the lists of their incompetence is too long for this review.
Several days before Christmas I spent over 15 minutes in your store at the Gallera in Edina. I was the only customer in the store the entire time. There were 4 clerks, two were near the front talking to each other about their personal lives the other two were near the desk. I chose some clothes to try on and did so. Not one clerk even said hello or acknowledged my presence. I finally confronted them about their ignoring me. I then left and went into a near by store that was filled with customers where I was greeted by 4 sales people within the first couple of minutes I was there. You can bet were I choose to spend my money.
I have been a huge fan of J Jill for years but it seems J Jill is beginning to struggle to keep up with competitors. Recently the customer reviews of clothing has disappeared from its website (odd). In addition, it appears the quality of the clothes has deteriorated and the sizing of the clothes seems to have changed. More of the clothes seem boxy and oversized. In addition, J Jill is one of the last retailers to not adjust their shipping and return policies. Many competitors offer free shipping... but not J Jill.
This pant which is 63% cotton, 33% rayon and 4% spandex stretches out while I am wearing it and becomes very baggy. Looks awful Why would you make a pant that stretches out like that?
The quality of fabric used for this pant must be poor. Rip off!
After reading other reviews of JJill, I am done buying from this company.
This store, their customer service and their shipping is the absolute worst you could ever encounter! There is nothing I can say positive about them! I have ordered three different times from them in the last month and I have NOT received one single package! Customer Service refuses to do anything to locate my items and since they are close to bankruptcy, they have switched to a shipper that you cannot even track or get ahold of. Stay away from this nasty store. Again, name of the store is JJILL
Tip for consumers:
Stay away from jjill

NONE since they steal your money and then you never receive your package
For 30 years I made jjill purchases and was my go to place for clothing. Then they changed the wearer fabric. Then the styling took a train to Kansas. But their prices remain really high. Sad that their line is so terribly diminished. Hate that that they are no longer a place I can depend on for clothing.
Tip for consumers:
The wearever is flimsy and looks like pajamas.

I have shopped at JJill for years and always loved their clothers. They were always high quality. In the last year or more that quality has slowly gone downhill. My last order had a linen tunic - but only the front was linen. The back and sleeves were some thin material. Although I love the styles I am afraid that JJill will not be my go to any longer for clothing.
After encountering the problems noted above with Comenity Bank, the bank handling the J. Jill credit card, I contacted J. Jill customer service to make them aware of the issue. They graciously volunteered to intervene with the bank and helped me to resolve the situation by having the late charges dismissed. As a result, although I will never again do business with Comenity Bank, I will continue to patronize J. Jill.
This store's credit card is handled by Comenity Bank which is a bank guilty of fraudulent and unethical business practices. Stay far away unless you want to have delayed posting of your payments to generate additional late fees and interest for the bank.
I went to J. Jill at green oak to return a pair of pants that were damaged and the manager got very frustrated with me. She was blaming me for the pants being damaged and said that I had done that to the pants. She made it seem like she was doing me a favor by exchanging the pants and that it was a major inconvenience. She got visibly upset with me when asking me if I had a receipt as well. For a store that markets itself as a boutique, they should not be treating people like that and I will not be going back
I have shopped at JJill for many, many years. What happened? The clothes are so ugly, not to mention the quality has really gone downhill. They used to have such cute clothes and now they are FRUMPY. I guess they are ok if you work in an office. Sorry JJill, I am forced to shop elsewhere.
This is the second time I have went to your store and left humiiliated from one of your sales clerks at Dana Ranch in Arizona. You can still be a petite and wear a large or extra large size. They are sold in your store. Comments such as I don't think they come in that size in petites or are you sure you want to be in Petites. I will not be going o your store anymore.
Hello Rachel. We regret to hear that your recent shopping experience at our Dana Park Village store was an unpleasant one. We sincerely apologize for not providing you with the level of service we strive for at J. Jill. Customer feedback is the best way for us to know how to improve future service and your concerns will be addressed with the store directly. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.-Jill
Are used to buy leggings from J Jill and they would last several years. They were cotton spandex and heavy duty and lasted a really long time. The last time I bought leggings they were so thin you can see through them and they were out in about eight months. So I won't buy these again. I'm so disappointed
I LOVE JJILL! I also love their sales. So I wait, and wait.
Occasionally the clothes I want are gone in my size when the price drops. But I say cest la vie, Cherie!, to myself.
Ive never had a problem with customer service. In 5 years. Not once.
Highly recommend.
The one negative. Well the 2:
1) they need better designers, with better color palettes.
2) they have nothing for loyal customers. At least Free Shipping, JJill!
Hello! Thanks for your review. We greatly appreciate customer feedback and assure you it will be forwarded. -Bridgett
I like JJ clothes. I don't order online because I like to try on clothes before I purchase them. At JJill the sales people tend to be aggressive about the JJill card and th sign up at the register. Even after I say no thank you, they keep jabbering on. Today when the person at the register did this, I actually said she was being rude by not listening to my first no thank you. She said she just wanted to inform customers of the "many benefits" and I snapped at her. My being a $#*! is not part of a pleasant retail experience. I avoid the store in two of the malls nearby (Cherry Creek and The Meadows) because of weird aggressive sales people. Now I will avoid the store at Aspen Grove. Im probably going to avoid JJill altogether.
Hello Jan. We are sorry to hear you have had such unpleasant experiences in our stores. We have forwarded your comments to the district managers of these store locations, so your concerns may be addressed with the associates. Thank you for your feedback.-Jill
I bought $300 worth of clothing online from J. Jill. This is my first experience shopping with them. I liked all but two of the items and decided to return them to the store nearest me in Hillsboro, OR. It is hard to put into words the offensive and humiliating experience of returning items to this store. The sales associate loudly announced my name, address, phone number and email to the whole store. She had to see my driver's license, call corporate and so and and so on. I was divorced recently and had a legal last name change, which she forced me to explain in front of people, even though all the paperwork was in the legal name, including driver's license. Then the sales associate charged me instead of credited me and I had to wait there, humiliated, feeling like I had done something wrong, while she had to get another person to fix her error. All in all, it is a safe bet I will not be shopping there again.
Hello Tammy. We're sorry to hear that your experience in our Hillsboro, OR store at the The Streets was not a pleasant one. Please be assured we expect a higher standard of service from our associates and this is not a normal example of our customer service. Your comments will be forwarded to the district manager, so this issue may be addressed with the associates directly. We feel customer feedback is the best way for us to improve future service and truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We have also sent you a private message regarding this matter.-Jill
Oh dear! Just got the newest catalog, some things are okay, they've added orange and rose colors and a few aqua ( very few) however the bulk of colors are carried over from the summer... black, white and red. I know why... they start their colors and designs almost a season ahead so with all our displeasure at the designs and colors and ALL of our honest reviews... it was too late, what can I say? The tops are shorter which I get and not enough tunics ( some of us like them). Soooo all we can do is hope for another pallete but it was decided a long time ago. I have soo many gift cards and haven't used them! Geez
Hello, Karen. Thank you very much for taking the time to share your thoughts regarding our most recent collection. We're sorry to hear that you've been disappointed by our current color palette. As you know, we love when our customers feel comfortable sharing their thoughts with us; feedback helps us learn what we're doing right as well as identify areas for growth. Please rest assured that your comments will be shared with our Design Department directly. We sincerely hope that our October Collection will delight you! -Chelsea
I'm sooooo disappointed in the "new" collection! Again... the colors are terrible! I don't get it! Need new Designers. Who's wearing red, white and black in the summer heat. Really. I was anticipating some pretty colors but this collection is early Fall. I'm a very longtime customer, I don't want to leave but I'm forced to look elsewhere. JJill is NOT listening to its customers as I've read the reviews not just on this site. I sent an email to C Serv but asked for no response as it's just placating. I have so many gift cards and cannot find anything I like. Can you imagine? They need to rescue this downward spiral quick as they will lose many of their core buyers. I'm actually sad about this as JJill was my go to store!
I have just about trying to get a BILL from J. Jill credit card company. They are the WORST. I will have to stop shopping at this store ONLY because of their credit card company.
Unbelievable. I cannot even get a bill from them.
Hello Nancy. We appreciate you sharing your recent experience with Comenity Bank, issuer of the J. Jill Credit Card. We're sorry you did not receive the level of service we strive for at J. Jilll. We assure you that your concerns will be addressed with Comenity Bank to improve future service. It is beneficial to J. Jill when our customers take the time to inform us of their experiences, both positive and otherwise. -Jess
Somedays ago, I bought a sofa set from 1stopbedrooms and it is totally good one and i feel good by using this. This is nice design and good quality. I think this is best e-commerce shop. I purchased some furniture from 1stopbedrooms and I was satisfied. Customer service was good and they deliver very quickly without any problems. Stuff are so helpful. The furniture designs and colors are awesome.
Last spring, I ordered some tops and I kept all of them but one, it was way too big. So, I filled out the return form and I asked for an exchange for another top and I put the item number on the form for the exchange and I mailed it back to J Jill. Well, they never sent the exchange that I had requested and when I contacted them, they said that they had no record of ever receiving the package. She said to wait a couple more weeks and see if it would come into their warehouse. I waited a couple of weeks then contacted them again and they told me they still hadn't received it. I am disgusted with their terrible customer service.

I have two wonderful cotton tunics from JJill... one I actually wore out in a gorgeous turquoise. I ordered a black turtleneck tunic and was looking forward to it. I guess I was not reading carefully, since the stretchy fabric it was made of was not to my liking, nor to my size. I'm a petite medium an the petite large was like a sausage casing. The package arrived in horrible shape... resealed poorly. And it contained an unordered black and white shirt that I would never wear in years. When I went online to write a review, per their request, my account wouldn't allow me to get in... and I keep a list of passwords. It was their problem, not mine. So tomorrow, I'll go to one of their stores where their drag colors will assault my senses and make sure the return paperwork is correct. Then wait 'two billing cycles' for my refund. I will NEVER shop here again. NEVEAR.
Loved this clothing line when first introduced but I have found that the quality of the clothing has really decreased while the price is still the same. If if they lowered the price I would not buy them. The styles are great but I don't want tops that get holes in them in the front at about the waist line after wearing a few times. When I compliained about this I was rudely told that I have moths. I replied and those moth must really be smart as they only eat holes in my Jill clothes and all in the same spot in the front about waist line. I am not fat either where my top could be rubbing against the countertop and causing this either. So I stopped purchasing their clothing. Period!
The March 2020 collection was apparently the debut of JJ's new designer. I was appalled! The predominating "chablis" color is unwearable, the prints are ugly, and most of the dresses are wide, shapeless muu-muus AND too short -- how unflattering can you get? They don't even look good on the models! Plus the models are shown with messy, stringy, dirty-looking hair. And the April catalog is no better. Sad, sad, sad. I haven't bought a thing in months.
I'm a long-time J. Jill fan who actually used to work there. I agree 100% with what Liz M. Said below. Not only is JJ's quality tanking while prices continue to rise, but I don't even like the designs and colors. I mean... cutout shoulders? Brown for summertime? Making everything sparkly and cheap-looking? Are they trying to imitate Chico's? Of the last 5 collections, the only one I liked was July's. I hope this changes before the company totally self-destructs.
Do not use their charge card service! They use Comenity Bank to service their charge accounts and they will fee you to death. Terribly hard to work with. I finally had to personally go to the store and let their manager deal with them and close my account. Beware!
Tip for consumers:
DON'T USE JJILL CHARGE CARD OR EVEN OWN IT!

I am slender and have a few favorites although the main customer is advanced middle age spread with oversized tent like styles. However the prices and styles are tempting. I especially like the Wearever travel group. However, I should not have to iron travel clothes. The fabrics are cheap with unfinished scratchy seams, and some of the dresses look like housedresses.
I am a frequent online shopper and like most, don't care to pay for shipping. While some retailers do charge if under a certain amt. The best ones simply offer free shipping, period.
Well, then there's J. Jill... which has an interesting and punitive concept...
I've discovered that the more you spend at J. Jill the more you are charged for shipping.
I called them to express my opinion but was told nothing could be done except bring my concerns to the marketing department.
So, I promptly emptied my cart of over $250 worth of merchandise and asked to be removed from their mailing list.
I'll stick w/Bloomingdales, RL, LLBean, and Nordstroms from now on. Each one of these merchants really understands customer service.
JJill just isn't worth it.
Tip for consumers:
If you like their clothing, voice your opinion about their shipping policies.
If enough of us speak out, they'll change it.
As others here have said, the last few years, the styles and cuts have gotten progressively dumpier, frumpier, shapeless, and old lady. Nearly all their dresses are straight shapeless tunics, or maternity-look high waisted styles. They used to have beautiful blouses, and now everything is a frumpy old-lady tunic style. Their jeans selection is not what it used to be, either. I used to buy several hundred dollars in merchandise each fall and spring at JJill; that is no longer the case. And now I get notice of their 40% off sale - just went back to the site, and there really is almost nothing there I want or don't already have. Very sad.
J.Jill offers unique and fashionable women's apparel, accessories, and footwear. Clothing available in misses, petite, tall, and plus sizes. Shop JJill? ۪s inspired style collection.
