THE WARRANTY IS NOT WORTH THE PAPER THAT IT IS WRITTEN ON. WHAT A JOKE. JUST TRY TO PUT IN A CLAIM AND SEE HOW QUICKLY THEY FIND AN EXCUSE TO NOT COVER YOU, EVEN WHEN IT IS A FACTORY DEFECT.
With an order, we received that has a damage mechanism hit the floor on one end of the sofa
We paid for the warranty
They know mattress drop ship normally takes 7 to 14 days but they tell you 4-7 days so you will buy.
July 3,2021 - Placed Order for 6 pieces of furniture. Two tall dresser chests, two long dressers, 2 nightstands. Total price: $2490. 90
Was supposed to be delivered between July 15-18.
When we received a delivery, we only received 3 of the items, and one was damaged.
The other pieces were "lost" via UPS, and then went back to the sender.
I've spent well over 40 hours (mostly on hold) with the Living Spaces "customer service" number, have only had ONE person who was actually somewhat interested in trying to help me (Reynold), but their "call back" system failed even that... he'd leave me a message with an extension number and others wouldn't be able to connect the call.
It's September 28th, and I've still only got 2 pieces of viable furniture, well over 40 hours on the phone trying to figure out where/when/how for the other stuff, just found out they had cancelled the remaining 3 items and issued store credit (with no notice to me), then jacked the price of the items online by nearly double...
I was able to get the store credit refunded to my CC yesterday, but then there is still the missing other item, which I've spent hours trying to track down information... and I'm told that they will be able to refund me for that piece as well (but has to be approved and handled in another, so again, no money yet!), but at this point I'd like a FULL refund - because what am I going to do with only 2 of the 6 pieces for the bedroom set?
NOTHING - except possibly try and resell them (for what amount!) to recoup my money.
DO NOT ORDER from them unless you want a lesson in patience and feel like being frustrated. In all my years in eCommerce (over 20!) I've never experienced a more shoddily run business. That's saying a LOT... JUST spend your money elsewhere with a company who is concerned about their customer experience process, because Living Spaces is NOT it.
Worst furniture store! No communication about late deliveries. Customer care is also not at all cooperative. Poor service
Horrible customer service. They made a huge mistake that inconvenienced the heck out me on many levels and didn't do one thing to make it right. They insulted me.
I ordered a dining table, paid $1000 for it, and paid for it to be delivered. I got an email the night before delivery confirming the delivery times with a tracking number. YET... delivery time came and went and I had no dining table. I tried to track it, but it was an invalid number. I, me, myself, I had to call Living Spaces and ask where my table was. They had my number and never bothered to call and tell me the table was really back ordered and would take another month. Really? I complained about them not calling me and wasting my time. Wasting my time on delivery day AND wasting the 3 weeks I waited to have it delivered that I could have bought another table guaranteed to be here for my dinner party! I complained about the fact that I needed that table for a dinner party I was having. They offered me free delivery... ya think?... on an entirely different table that I could buy from what they had in stock. Uh, no, I picked this table and decorated my dining room around this particular table! I don't think so. I asked them how they were going to compensate me for this and they said they could give me a$100 gift card... that I could use on another product! Are you kidding me? Oh, so I'm supposed to go buy more stuff from you and owe you more money... because what can I buy for $100? That's how you make this up to me and keep my business? I'm no fool! So I had to cancel my order because they showed zero care for me and my business. I'm not paying for bad service. Buyer beware. Don't plan on getting your stuff when they promise it. Don't plan on them caring about you or if you are inconvenienced. It's all about them.
I had zero clue this company was so bad and had such awful reviews because I trusted if this place is good enough for celebrities to sell their stuff in their stores, then it was reputable. WRONG. Buyer beware. Read all the reviews. They aren't good.
Today, my wife and I went to shope for a couple of items, namely a recliner. After spending about an hour at the location trying out different chairs we made a selection. We then looked for a dresser and a chest of drawers, we found the two items we needed and a salesman began to write up the ticket. He started looking for delivery dates and soon he advised us that the $950.00 chest of drawers was no longer available at the warehouse. He explained that the floor model was the only one, he also told us that it could not be included in the delivery of which I was paying a seperate fee. The chest needed to be picked by me, I asked if I would get a discount since I was purchasing a floor model and one which I would have to pick up with the assistance of someone else and a truck or trailer. He called his floor manager and a young man "Joel" came over and inspected the chest, after the inspection he deemed the chest not damaged so therefore no discount would be applied. I explained to him that I was buying $3,000.00 worth of product which I was paying a fee for delivery which this item would not be included and I would have to pickup on my own. I told him I would have to borrow a truck, or get a trailer and ask a friend for help to pickup an item which they could not deliver even though I was paying a delivery fee. Joel, would not balk and said he was doing me a favor because if he gave me a discount, the warranty on the furniture would be void. He was looking out for my future purchase. 10% of the 950.00 purchase is $95.00, but the overall purchase was going to be closer to $3,000.00. We decided to walk away from this deal!
If I could give less than a 1 star review, I would. I ordered a bed from them, getting delivery scheduled was impossible. Finally got it scheduled for a Saturday, they attempted to deliver at 11 am when delivery time was scheduled 3-7. We obviously were not home and never received a call. We rescheduled for the following week on Wednesday, confirmed, they moved it to Thursday without letting me know. Finally Thursday came, the delivery team was so unprofessional, rude and tossed the boxes against my CAR and left. Finally got the bed inside on our own, when they were supposed to do it, it was entirely broken, headboard completely torn apart. I contacted the company, took 2 weeks for them to process it and they finally informed me once I called multiple times, the bed was on backorder and I would not receive a new bed for TWO MONTHS, I chose to get a refund instead. They stated the bed wouldn't be picked up for TWO WEEKS and I would have to wait until the company received the bed back for a refund, ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. I finally talked to someone and he let me know he would get the refund processed prior to pick up since I have had such a rough time, this was untrue. Fast forward to two days ago(a pick up date I never confirmed but made it work), the company will not pick up the bed because it is not in the original packaging. I DO NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING SINCE THE BOX AND BED WERE DAMAGED AND IT HAS BEEN A MONTH. I still have no refund, a broken bed and down $1,000. AWFUL COMPANY. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM.
Had a worst experience with sales manager Mike at Pflugerville, TX center. They did wrong item delivery and he is claiming as customer's mistake.
Missing parts on an order. They didn't seem to care one bit. This was at their Pflugerville, TX location.
We made the mistake of ordering on line. Spend about 700 on a bed frame. Wasn't delivered on time, box was extremely damaged some scratches small tear on the frame, but it wasn't anything super noticeable since it was or is all fabric. All the pieces were supposed to be inside of the headboard. And guess what it was missing all of the hardware we double triple check the box that it came in. We double tripled and checked the headboard. It came in. We looked everywhere. There was no hardware. So then we immediately called the customer service number and they told us to call the number. Of the people that manufactured our bed. Then then that number didn't work so we called customer service back for living spaces. We were on hold passed around finally got a hold of somebody and they said that they couldn't return the bed. And what they could do was give us a gift card for I think it was $40. They couldn't give us new hardware which is what we needed so we went up to the living spaces in town. That's in Grand Prairie and and they made it seem like that it was in there and we just didn't look hard enough and we were like we did we looked everywhere triple double checked everything and the hardware was nowhere in there, so what they did is went back to their so they went back to the warehouse and got little bits and pieces of things that might fit. And that was it. We did call customer service one more time and asked him if they could send us hardware because not everything is that the warehouse gave us fit so they told her they would get back to us in one business day nobody has called us back and it's been less than a year in the bed has already fallen apart because we didn't have the correct hardware to correctly put it together. We will never be buying here again. Customer service was terrible in store online and in like on the chat and over the phone so I don't recommend anybody buy furniture here it's terrible. Unfortunately it has been a little under a year may be 10 months since we had the bed so I don't have to pay. I don't have pictures of the original box that we got stuff in so I can offer that I'm sorry.
Went to Living Spaces to purchase a new sectional couch. Talking to the sales person she talked us into the carefree insurance. We hesitated at first but she was very convincing on why we should get the insurance.
We were happy with our couch until we smelled smoke coming from the usb electrical consul, we immediately unplugged our electronics and unplugged the consul from the wall outlet.
Contacted the carefree insurance "she sold us on" sent them pictures told them what happened. Carefree said we could get a new usb electrical consul. They said to contact
Living spaces to get the new one. I called and living spaces said they were on back order
That I had to wait till they came back to stock. I waited a month no phone call, so I call living spaces, they told me they no longer carry that sectional.
Living spaces told me I can get a whole new sectional to replace mine, but they needed an okay from Carefree ins. Carefree won't get back to me or Living Spaces.
WORST COSTUMER SERVICE EVEVR!
I WILL NOT BE SHOPPING WITH LIVING SPACES EVER.
I RECOMMEND YOU TAKE YOUR BUSINESSES ELSEWHERE.
I'll start by saying that I had previously bought a sofa from Living Spaces and the whole process was pretty flawless and I had no complaints, but then this happened.
An upholstered chair I ordered on 1/11/2022 came partially assembled; the 4 wooden feet were not attached. No big deal as you just screw the feet in but one of the feet could not be attached. Either the threaded insert was bad or the screw on the foot was stripped or something. I called this in to customer service and was put in touch with Living Spaces repair/warranty company: SAW. I had to wait a couple of weeks before a SAW technician was available and when he finally examined the chair, he determined it was a manufacturing defect and he said he would write it up as such and that I should expect to hear from Living Spaces in 5 business days. I waited 7 days with no call before I called Living Spaces to find out what was going on. I spoke to customer service, was put on endless hold and I eventually hung up intending to call back another time. Later that same day I "coincidentally" received an email saying that replacement parts had been ordered which could take 6-8 weeks to arrive. However, there was no mention of who is going to do the repair. Are the parts being sent to me? Is SAW coming back to do the repair? Am I doing the repair?!
Now, lucky for me, it just so happens that I am a professional woodworker and furniture maker so I decided to try and repair the chair. The SAW technician was really not much help (arrived with no tools and no parts) so after he left, I took a closer look at what was going on. I saw that a nail in the chair frame was protruding about 3/16" into the hole where the screw on the foot needed to go. The nail was damaging the threads on the leg screw when it was trying to be attached and the threaded insert looked kind of chewed up also. Whoever was wielding the nail gun in the factory that day did some sloppy work. A definite manufacturing defect and horrible quality control.
Anyway, I was able to remove the nail, knock the insert out and replace it, buy a new threaded bolt and fix the thing myself. Absurd.
Bottom line? You wait 6-8 weeks for the chair to be made, fair enough, 2 weeks for a "repair" technician to show up, well okay, and then another 6-8 weeks for replacement parts with zero info about who's doing the repair. But in the meantime you're supposed to live with a three-legged chair? Yes. (Unless you have the skill to fix it yourself!)
Update: Today (4/8/2022) I received 4 new feet! That's all! No threaded insert, which was half of the problem, no paperwork, nothing! So that is Living Spaces customer service!
It is definitely buyer beware with this company as they live up to the negative reviews they get on Yelp but if you're a competent woodworker and don't mind spending your valuable time fixing their mistakes, than you're good.
Me, I won't be going back.
If I could give them negative stars I would! This is the se one couch that we bought from them that we have had to use the warranty bc the motor in the couch has stopped working! We got the first couch and the motor broke we used the warranty and they replaced the entire couch. Ok great 2 years later the replace couch's motor broke and we filed a claim. A repair guy came out and said that it could not be fixed and had to be replaced. Ok fine we thought they were going to replace the entire couch like before……NOPE just the two sections. Then they send us the confirmation and it has the wrong address. So I called and the representative on the phone said that they could not deliver the couch to the correct address. I said that the warranty claim was done under the correct/new address AND the repair man came to the correct/new address so why can't the new parts be sent to the right address. The guy on the phone said "that is your problem not mine." Are you freaking serious?! Who what great costumer service! I asked to speak to a supervisor and he said the supervisor will tell you the same thing I did. I still persisted to speak to a supervisor. He said ok then you will have to wait. I waited for about 5 mins then he comes back on the phone and says the supervisor will have to call me back. About 1.5 hrs later I get a call and the supervisor says she can update the address. Ok great….so then I ask about replacing the entire couch Ana she says no. I told her then my couch is not going to match! Two pieces will be a darker blue than an the rest of the couch bc over time color fades. She said well I would have to submit another claim but chances are they would not replace the rest of the couch. So basically living spaces is ok with me have a mixed match couch! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FEOM THIS COMPANY! It is one headache after another! Run as far away as you can! Consider yourself warned!
I ordered a nearly 700 dollar bed with a warranty 3 months ago and the day I picked it up the wood was moldy and refurbished having cracks in the wood glued when it came to me. 3 months later the slats have almost all snapped in half I called in my warranty which was still under factory because it had barely been a few months. They told me they would get back to us over email and would ship my bed and a month later they never did. At the time I had COVID and could not come in and I needed my things shipped. I went in last week and was told that they don't make my bed anymore and they will give me "store credit" for a new bed. Sounds like an okay deal but it's not what I paid for and they had nothing that works for me so I had to settle for a cheaper bed because what I needed they didn't have though it was an easy fix to just send me my slats. I didn't even mention problems with the drawers and railing because I know how businesses are and wanted to just as for the bare minimum. I pick out a new piece of furniture and the customer service rep was very rude and unhelpful and when I told her I'd like to pick up one item I needed that said it was available there on line she said okay and set my items to ship despite my request so I could no longer pick it up. My items where supposed to arrive next Monday and part of the order came yesterday in the afternoon when I wasn't home and couldn't sign for it. They left no confirmation o didn't even know it was here until I got home from work and saw a dirty box sitting on my porch. Never buying from living spaces again. At this price your customer service should be exquisite and let alone your refurbished products you sell at full prices to customers to grift.
My fiancé and I bought a house and I was so excited I started to shopping for furniture. It's was close to midnight when I found the sofa that I wanted so I placed the order. The very next morning I called to confirm the color of the sofa was white. After calling several times confirming the color several representative confirm that the Curious pearl is white. A few days later I receive three swatches of colors. One of colors was Elliot snow which is closer to the color white. I was so upset because I have been told by so many representative that the curious pearl was white however it is not curious pearl is beige. I contacted them spoke with another representative who advised me that she was sending information to the department that was making the sofa to get the color corrected. After waiting for weeks I received a text message saying that the order was ready to be shipped. I called in and set up a delivery date confirm the color and the color is still wrong curious pearl. I call back escalated to a manager and I was told that a manager will contact me within 24 to 48 hours. That never happened I called back again and the representative told me that the manager closed out the case and no notes on my account to the reason why. I never received a phone call. This is the first time I've ever ordered anything from these people and this will be the last. They have lied multiple times and never tried to correct the issue after being told by a representative that the color was white in which it wasn't. There was no attempt to try to make the situation correct. There was no accommodation to try to rectify anything.
I've had multiple friends and family purchase furniture from Living Spaces and was excited to purchase my couch and ottoman from them. When I ordered my couch, it had a delivery date 3 weeks away (this was NOT a customized couch and was one in stock). When I placed my order or looked online at my order history it all confirmed my delivery date and that I would receive a call 24 hours prior to narrow my delivery window. Finally, the afternoon before my scheduled delivery date I called Living Spaces because I had not heard from them. I waited on hold an hour and was told my
Ottoman was pushed out a few weeks. I said that was fine, but I needed my couch (I've been without a couch for a month). I was then informed they couldn't deliver the in stock couch for another 6 days. When I asked for a manager I was told I'd get a call that evening or first thing the following morning. The following morning... nothing. I called, was told there was a 17 minute wait time and after 56 minutes got hung up on prior to speaking to a representative. I called back, was told a 39 minute wait and after an hour got to a representative, Hayley. She was the ONLY helpful person I spoke with. She was able to get my delivery scheduled for 3 days after the original date. When she transferred me to a manager to discuss my dissatisfaction at customer service and communication, I spoke with Laura. She offered me the most insincere, lackluster apology. When I mentioned that I felt like more should be done to try to rectify the service, Laura got snippy, said she would send me a $25 gift card. At no point did I receive any type of communication regarding delays or one of my items being back ordered. The customer service has been terrible, again with the exception of Hayley. Honestly, some sincerity regarding the apology and acknowledgment that their team dropped 50 different balls, would have been nice to hear. I'm extremely disappointed and doubt I'll ever shop there again.
This store has no problem with doing fraud and the sad part is they even encouraging and supporting their employees to continue doing it, after weeks of waiting for the delivery, my coffee table finally arrived, the delivery guys dropped it of and took few pictures of the box and on their way to the front door, I asked let me please check it before you leave, the respond was we only deliver, if it was any problem contact the store and they were just gone, I opened the box and the product was heavily damaged, right after that I receive an email stating that I have received the product the a receipt was attached with my signature on it. Their delivery crew has impersonated me and forged my signature on the delivery document and they are so care less they even have emailed it to me, I did drive 45 minutes their store in San Leandro Ca, and explained everything, when I told their manager about the forging signature is a fraud and is felony they didn't seem to care at all, I just this is part of their business, I showed the pictures of my coffee and they said I can bring it back and get the floor model, however in order for me to be able to return it if I changed my mind I should not get any discount. I said that's alright, I signed a purchase agreement with NO discount and again they gave me a copy, next day when I contacted the costumer service to see if I can change this table they told me since I purchased the floor model with discount I can't change it, I told them that impossible and they said they have my purchase contract, I ask for them to email it to me and after receiving it its a contract with NO signature plus they have added few dollar discount so I can't return it. Unbelievable. I am planning to take legal action, impersonating, forging signature is a felony and they need to be stopped. Please contact me if you have similar story by Living spaces. *******@yahoo.com
I know we all know that customer service as we knew it 20 years ago is dead, but to have witnessed being completely tortured and killed today at Living Spaces made me really sad.
If you are out and about to buy furniture at the store in Vista, CA beware of his "manager" Gel and his cashier Thomas.
The passive aggressive behavior of those two individuals is off the charts!
5 years ago, we made a small purchase of $ 3,000 for 2 bookcases, and the sales person sold us the "extended warranty" and what convinced us to buy it, was that we were told: "if you don't use it for 5 years it will be like "free" money to come spend here for more stuff!"
We decided to buy it, since the same deal was offered to us at Macy's and we thought it was a "win-win".
Well, 5 years have just passed, we came to the store to spend "our free money" to find out that actually you have to spend double amount of the certificate you originally purchased!
REALLY?
Then it is NOT Free money since i have to add half of my REAL money to the value of the certificate...
Cindy Lou, the nicest salesperson ever, understanding our surprise, took us to the cashier, Thomas, and told us that he was going to make some magic happen to take advantage of the deal.
Well Thomas did not work the magic Cindy expected, as he was was not going to help us, and most outrageous was his expression of "i don't care about you, as i am paid to sit here till my day is over!" kinda of expression.
We then called Cindy Lou, who was outrageous about Thomas behavior, so called the manager of the day: GEL...
Then we understood who must have trained Thomas, since he didn't even listen to Cindy and dismissed us with: "I AM THE MANAGER SO I AM THE BOSS HERE, AND I DON'T CARE TO HELP YOU, NEITHER IN MAKING A SALE FOR THE STORE!"
"SO LEAVE AND DON'T EVER COME BACK!"
Really surprised to that kind of behavior, since a manager should FAKE that he cares, and FAKE that he will try to do something for you...
WOW! What a great experience
Answer: They scammed me too! I am still fighting with them
Answer: There are many furniture companies with similar and likely better products.
Answer: Helpful. People in store very helpful. They did not seem to know about the complaints.
