You can NOT redeem these gift cards. I picked the movie I wanted and selected the tickets, then I went to pay (redeem) and nothing happened. I kept clicking and clicking the link and it would not progress. I tried multiple times and nothing happened. You can not redeem these tickets.
They took my card, but never gave me the tickets. Tried calling and first time I was on hold for over 15 minutes then it just logged me out. Called back and the answer just went to a not available. Called on a weekday and I was given a voice mailbox. Told to leave a message and when I left one, I never received a call back. They took the gift certificate money did not give me the tickets and I had to pay for them once I went to the movie theater. Ended up paying twice to see one movie. It has been a week and not one call or answer even though I have tried to contact them several times. The site said it would contact in 72 hours, but have not received any contact from the first time I left a message and it has been several days.
Transaction unsuccessful. They put a lock on my account and customer service said they can't unlock it over the phone!? Do not purchase these gift cards I wish I read the reviews first!
Times out before a person can get their credit card in. It's not obvious how to redeem your movietickets cards so you end up charging it to your credit card and never use the stupid gift cards. Total rip off. Terrible!
The gift card redemption is a sham. You have a balance and go through the site and they require a credit card to process the order. They then charge the credit card the full price for the ticket. This happened over and over after we had bought a 4 pack of $25 gift cards thinking it would be a good deal. Nope, we had to pay full price AND pay the service fee. Don't give these gift cards (unless you hate the person) and if you get one as a gift give it to your worst enemy and let them have the aggravation.
I was a registered user of MovieTickets.com and have booked tickets over the past (which was not a great experience). Today unfortunately i was again routed to this useless website MovieTickets.com to book tickets because of the promotion tie up with AT&T. Then my painful saga starts! I try to login with my credentials and i get an error "Username and Password do not match"! Then i try to reset my password (just to make sure) using the forgot password link, had to wait for few minutes after clicking the reset password button and then nothing happens on the screen and neither i get a reset email link! Then i try to create a new account using my alternate email id, after keying in all the personal details i clicked the submit button and it errors out saying "Something went wrong"!
That simply means that none of the prime functionalities work in the website, then why not post an outage or some notification message that the website is down. Instead the website allows you to go through all the steps and waste your time!
Then i call customer care, after waiting for 15 minutes on phone a representative answers and ask me to try forgot password and then create new user account. As usual none of them work again. Then the representatives says we are aware of this issue but we do not know when it would get fixed please try later!
I am fed up with the website!
Like all the other reviewers I got one of these $25 cards which cannot be redeemed either online (code rejected) or at the theater. Calling the 888 number gets a recording and messages cannot be left (voice mailbox full). Next step is the Better Business Bureau.
This website seems to make it IMPOSSIBLE TO OBTAIN A REFUND.
Entering " Refund " in their websites search leads to "No results found."
We lost about $48 dollars on a transaction that we could not cancel.
Stay away from these thieves.
They give you a deal on the cards but make it so complicated to use cards most people just give up. They will change theaters card is used. We used for AMC Barrington and the next week could only use at a different theater. But here's the thing, when you select your movie at a theater that does not accept cards they just redirect you to fandango or similar site. You think that they sent you there so complete the ordering there. But you can't use the gift cards there. You have to go back to craptickets.com and click a movie and theater that does not redirect. There is no way to know which theaters are good or not. Right now the site says theaters are good but it redirects. Called tech support and they said if it redirects then I can't go to that theater. I asked how do I know which are good. He said if it redirects it's not good. So trial and error and he says yes. Wow. So the thing is they intentionally make it difficult and figure these gift cards are only $25 and you only paid $20 so you'll just give up and they make the $20. Unbelievable scam. On top of that Sams club where I bought them advertised they could be used at the theaters. They cannot. Stay away. Even if you jump through all the hoops they toss at you they'll just cancel theaters around you so there's nothing close.
You shouldn't waste your time on these gift cards, even if they seem like a real bargain. The website is so glitchy and customer service is so bad, you typically give up trying to get your tickets. Time limits (like Ticketmaster) and login issues lead to abandoning efforts and requiring you to try again. You try again and guess what, the seats you selected are no longer available. If you do get in touch with customer service, they blame the issue on the theater. And then, you get to start all over again. I would not be surprised if there weren't several BBB complaints about this company. Reminds of an extended warranty company that doesn't really cover anything. No one should ever buy from movietickets.com EVER
Incredibly painful web site - one where cloudfare canceled my transaction several times saying I was "BLOCKED" as malicious. Had to recreate the order more than once; losing prime seats in the process, then - after purchasing find out I'm stuck with tickets my wife doesn't want. No Refund or Exchange option - Greed Level 100. DO NOT OFFER THESE GIFT CARDS TO ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT - only to those you want to annoy and create an uncomfortable future with.
I called to lookup a gift card number I used previously and had the confirmation number, tracking number, tickets and everything. The lady I spoke with was very rude and kept cutting me off. She kept telling me I was wrong and even proceeded to tell me I must have gone to the movie 2 years ago when I went a couple months ago. When I told her to lookup the release date of the movie she magically found my gift card number and ended the phone call very rude.
Won't accept att tuesdays promo or reset of password! Hugh waste of time. Long wait on customer service call.
I received $25 gift card from MovieTickets for my birthday. When I tried to use the card on the MovieTickets.com site, I kept getting redirected to Fandango.com, which could not accept the promo code on the back of my card. Why can't I use this card?
I have a bunch of Movietickets.com gift cards that are UNUSABLE. Every single time I log on, the site eventually says that there is something wrong and it cannot complete the process. This happens repeatedly until I give up or the wi dow times out and I have to start over. Do not ever buy their gift cards for someone. It is not a gift. They are literally just scamming people.
Tried multiple browsers and continuously get "Sorry, this transaction was unsuccessful." Called customer service and they had no idea. Honestly why go through movietickets.com when you can essentially go through the theater your watching the movie without a stupid $3 transaction fee.
I inadvertently landed on this site, thinking that I was at my neighbourhood movie site (i. E., Fifth Avenue Cinema), where I normally purchase my tickets online and select my seats. Since I was wanting tickets for a very popular movie, I assumed the process for purchasing my tickets was different. After paying a $3.00 service charge, I was guaranteed the best possible seats for a 6:45 PM movie. My purchase was made at 1:00 PM.
Since I was not assigned seats, I walked up to the theatre to ensure my seats were appropriate and that I would be assigned my scene points. I was furious to learn that my best possible seats were in the second row at the front of the theatre. This is insane. I would never choose to sit this close, in this small theatre.
My questions: What customer service was provided? How dare the site advertise best available seats as seats located two rows at the front of the theatre.
Never again will I be tricked into using this site, nor do I recommend it to anyone else!
How good is it if you can't USE it? Every movie we select, and every time we select, states that they don't "ticket" for that theater, and we'd have to go to Fandango to purchase tickets, but Fandango doesn't accept MovieTickets.com cards.
Customer service is at least polite but this is unacceptable service for their standard procedures. Their website is down for the theater I want so I cant purchase a movie ticket with my gift card. I have to go in person and pay at the window with cash or credit card. Wtf is the point of the gift cards if I cant use them at the place I want? Im very disappointed they dont have a work around when these issues pop up.
Answer: You have to process the purchase through movietickets.com instead. PS When I followed the web address printed on the back of the card, there was a "404 error," but if you simply type "movietickets.com" without all of the extra stuff, it works perfectly.
Answer: Call Fandango and ask them. Many people are saying movietickets.com gift cards do not work on Fandango. I wish you luck.
Answer: Try redeeming it through MovieTickets.com website. Select the movie, the showing you'd like and then check out as a guest. Look for the movietickets.com card option at check out. If you have a free Stubs member number, enter that as well to waive the convenience fee. Hope that helps!
Answer: I just spoke with Fandango Customer Service. We are connected to Movietickets.com but they do not honor Movietickets.com gift cards. Fandango has their own gift cards and you must contact Movietickets.com to activate. I also just called Sam's and the guy that answered the phone stated to call Walmart at 1-800-Walmart. So, I called Walmart at the 800# and spoke with lady by the name of, Madori, she stated that Sam's has their own Customer Service phone # 888-746-7726. Andrew at Sam's 800# stated to go to Sam's Customer Service desk and they will look up your purchases. If you purchased the gift cards within the last 3 years they will refund your money. Andrew stated that they will look at removing the gift cards from on-line and in store purchases. :)
Answer: You have to use it on movietickets.com instead. When I tried the website as printed on the back of the gift cards, it says "error 404," but when I simply typed "movietickets.com" without the extra stuff, it worked perfectly.
