I was told I would get keys on January 23 I didn't get accesses to the property until January 25. They won't pro rate the difference. They won't give me a key. It's a code only. If the power goes out. I have no access to my home.
I have rented from MSR for a couple years now and am transferring to my 3rd MSR property. In the past I haven't had good experiences but this time around, Danielle Warner made the leasing process easy & smooth. She kept in contact with me from day one & kept me updated, every day, and was on top of things. Moving is not a easy thing to do and can be very stressful but I appreciate all of her help & the fact that she took some of that stress off of me. She has been very kind and attentive. Thank you Danielle!
They have let us go on two days without our bathrooms working. We are literally unable to use our bathrooms. They lied and said it was dispatched. Next day they said it wasn't. Prior to this. They let us go two days without AC when it was 98 outside. They lie. They do not care. Worst company I have ever dealt with. By the way, the septic still isn't fixed. So we still can't use the bathroom or use any of the sinks.
One particular remark in your reply to my first review jumped out for me, that hadn't previously. This remark, " Our specialist team wants to hear from you if there is still any concern of urgent matter, please reach us at *******@msrenewal.com "
What could be more urgent than being homeless? Because of the income requirements of 3 times the monthly rent, my family is homeless. We have 3 adults (actually due to Alabama law; one is not old enough to rent her own place) and two children. In addition & because of our dilemma, we have met a large number of families whom are in the same position as my family.
I have lived on this earth quite a long time and am appalled at these ridiculous standards that are causing families to remain homeless or living in hotels that charge 3 times what homes are renting for! FOR 1 ROOM!
Should your company truly care about potential clients, then allow these clients to rent when their income more than covers the MONTHLY RENT, as does ours!

Worst rental company I've ever dealt with. With the mold in the ceiling and window seal, termite infestation, ant infestation, the pipes busting and flooding my whole house and damaging all my appliances and being without water for 6 days when they said 2 hours. When they renovated the put all the glass and carpet in the yard and now my dogs and grandkids are cutting their paws and feet and no one wants to help me. They come in and paint over the mold and glue pipes together. I've been waiting for2 weeks now to get rid of termites and to fix a hole in the ceiling from a pipe busting and the water running under my hard wood floors coming over the top. This company sucks but want my 1300 every month!
We moved across the country and rented a property that looked great in pictures and the size was right. When we arrived we discovered the sqft was actually less than half of the advertised size. I made several attempts to get a resolution on this issue, and after 4 months, I resorted to calling them out on social media. That got a response. They offered to lower my rent, but we were still stuck in a house too small for our needs. When the lease was up they wanted to raise our rent, or charge us double for a month to month. We said hell no and rented a new home. After we moved out they listed the house for the original sqft. In an effort to help the next guy I notified them, and 4 days later they have not updated the listing. They are also VERY slow to respond to maintenance issues, especially emergency issues. I will never do business with MainStreet Renewal again. So far American Homes for Rent has been a much better experience.
Took months for them to keep updating me on a property i applied for, after two months they finally reach back and ask me to send in a picture of my social security card which I did not feel comfortable doing, then after refusing, they just closed my application after paying $100 to even apply to the property in the first place. I asked if there was somewhere I could meet them and they said no, they did not have an office I could come to, they were ALL remote..

Worst property management company I have ever used. I have been dealing with a septic tank issue for close to a month now that still hasn't been resolved. On 5/17/24 Septic tank overflowed into the master bathroom shower and went through the wall into and under the master bedroom closet floor and into the dining room. 4 days later they send a tech out to "look" into the situation but stated that if the tank needs pumping, he could not do that. Really? Why are you even here then? He tried snaking main line from house to tank with no success. Digs up the line to ensure it's not broken. Removes inspection cover and low and behold, the tank is full. It took until the 23rd of May to get the septic tank pumped out. Now we are having an issue with having the drywall/floor that were soaked in raw sewage being replaced. Put another maintenance request in on the 31st of May for drywall repairs. Tech came out on 6/2/24, looked around, took some pictures and left. I get an email the next day stating that the work was completed. Again, really? Nice recipe for a case of cholera. I have been out of the house since the night of 5/17/24 living in hotel rooms that the property manager has only covered 3 day of and still paying rent. This is totally unacceptable and I have legal counsel lined up to take action. Do not… I repeat, do not rent from these legalized slumlords
We got the denied for our application. I want to know why. It had a glitch in the application system it would only let us put one housing where we lived at tbut we have 2 other places that we lived at. Also they didn't pull our credit or called the lanlord to verify! I would like to have a response back ASAP thank you

3 years rented and its been the worst 3 years I have ever seen for a property regarding their lack of care, terrible maintenace and work order handling and the renters seem to care about their properties more than they do! Every 1 star review you see is true! Need anything fixed? Maintenaced? NOT going to happen with 2 sets of people to take pics and then never doing anything about it. Front porch tile is kitchen tile and its cracked because its laid wrong and really slick. Our fence post uprooted from a storm, all that had to happen is to get a new post and reconcrete it back in ground but as you see in pic thats what they did, look at the stakes used to hold it up to house! Huge tree is totally taking over the house and unsafe for any weather and hazard to house, but of course no one is going to trim it! They are quick to take your money but are quick to ignore you. TERRIBLE COMPANY! STAY AWAY!

I was advised one home was available did the application in the driveway of the home and all of a sudden they denied tht home because someone else did the application 1st what how I'm so confused, fine I'll keep looking found another one got approved and was sent this letter threw email to give a deposit within 24hr but I can't move in till December 1st mind u this is Oct 20th. Quannetta Hayden is no help hides behind the desk n don't like to speak she seems like she mad when u do speak to her. Don't do it here they are bad business and trying to take your money!
I have been renting a house in Ga for 7 years abut a year and a half ago. Mainstreet Bought it without any notice of the house being sold. By the way its been bought and sold to different company's at least 3 times. Well after a year and a half they recently said that I have to do a new application and get approved through rent grow, I came back denied! Even though i've never been late on my rent. I have had some ruff times and been out of work and let credit cards go just to make sure my rent was paid and I always had a rood over my head. They are saying I have to move. And I need to pay a month to month lease which is really high! What am I suppose to do
DO NOT APPLY TO RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! First off they do a hard credit check. So be prepared to loose as much as 20 points off your credit. Also I applied for a house they posted at 1,400. I passed the application. Then they raised the price to 1,600. Then they removed the listing and said someone had a move-in date for it. Now it is listed on their website once again at 1,600. I believe they are doing some very unethical business. If you look through the reviews you will find similar and recent stories like mines. Save your money, your time, and your credit. DO NOT APPLY WITH THEM!

This landlord has an impossible system to report problems. All they want is the rent. Takes 2 weeks for management company to respond, then 2 more weeks to get landlord approval, then forever to get repairs. No live operators any more.
This place is garbage! I put in a work order 22 days ago because my water heater was providing less than 15 minutes of hot water. On February 14th, I placed another because nobody had ever come out to fix it and water is now warm, not hot, and goes cold in 6 minutes. I have children in this home, one who is disabled, so hot water isn't a luxury for us, it is a necessity! I put a detailed complaint in with the BBB. I have faithfully paid by rent for 2 full years! This is ridiculous! 22 days now and nobody!

I had just bought a new dryer finally when my electrical outlet malfunctioned and I was not able to receive heat to the dryer at all. Rod, one of Main Street Renewal's maintenance men came out and checked it and didn't leave until he had fixed the problem and showed me that my dryer was getting nice and hot! The best thing is I didn't have to wait more time to schedule with an elecrician! He was also very nice and great to work with! I appreciate the prompt and excellent service!

I have been trying to get things worked out with main Street renewal since April and their third party company has denied me several times due to the fact that I received SSI and I cannot work a regular job I have HUD housing and they promise that they accept that but they only accept it if your income meets their requirements and if you have perfect credit. They do this a lot so they can collect as many application fees as possible per house they are a big scam stay away! Especially if you are HUD housing or disabled they are not for you. There is no local office that you can talk to about your application everything is from somewhere else they are all foreign they are all extremely hard to understand and it is just an extremely frustrating process. Also all of your personal information is going through several hands and you have no way of knowing that it's actually protected.
Our plumbing is constantly backing up and Mainstreet Renewal refuses to fix the issue. We can not use water without sewage backing up into our home and due to uninhabitable conditions I have requested lease termination and the company refuses to respond to me about it so now I am forced to hire an attorney.
After paying the $100 application fee ($50 per person), I received an email on 11/18 stating that the property we applied for was leased to someone else. However, on 11/21, the agent called to inform us that they had to remove the property from their listings because an unauthorized homeless person was living inside and had vandalized the home.
I requested a refund of our application fee due to this situation but was refused. They essentially scammed us out of $100 because of their failure to adequately secure and exercise due diligence for their property. Despite their insistence that we consider renting another property they manage, I have decided never to engage with this company again.
It is highly dishonest to claim a property is rented to someone else when, in fact, it is inoperable due to their own negligence. Yet, I'm the one out $100? I wouldn't trust this company to be my landlord if this is how they conduct themselves during the application process.

AVOID RENTING FROM THIS COMPANY!
Prior to hurricane Ian and even more so after hurricane Ian, my sister and I have been having a hard time breathing in the home that we rent from Main Street Renewal. We have contacted them several times about the ductwork in the home. They have created multiple work orders for various problems that happened from the hurricane. Out the 13 separate work orders created only 3 have actually been completed. We have had to purchase an air purifier for the home in hopes that we can breathe better. They have sent a person out on 3 separate occasions... they look at the ductwork. Each of them indicating that "Yes, the ductwork does need cleaning". Then they cancel the work order and respond that it is complete and that the cleaning of their HVAC Unit is "Tenant Responsibility". We still have a broken fence, soffit and gutters that are still damaged, and the roof that is still damaged. We have been waiting 3 months for these repairs and still nothing.

Answer: Don't bother... waste of money for an overpriced house. Their customer service is terrible. They give you the run around and the techs they send out are not certified. Look like people the just find off the street and hire for a repair to do. My husband and I are currently looking for an attorney to get out of this lease. We've only been renting from them for 4 months and have had SOOO many problems with this house. Look else where.
Answer: Indeed! Integrity n honor is of no value with MSR! Hopefully they will re-evaluate their company and greed will not control them! No one has a clue of each other in the business system they run!
