I spent hours and hours building closets there. My main closet sold perfume. Thousands of other sellers on Poshmark sell perfume even though they claim items like perfume are prohibited. I was shipping them ground legally and at my own expense because the items were so profitable. Someone on Poshmark with nothing better to do probably a competing seller violated me like 14 times. This really irked me because I made like $200 in profit (like $400 plus in sales) my first 2 weeks of doing it. Anyway I have other closets with toys, clothing and other items that arent prohibited. Those closets are now not allowed to list additional items thereby halting all my business. All because some managment person decided they dont want me doing business there. I would avoid selling here at all costs if I were you. They dont even take paypal you have to wait for a check in the mail or give them a bank routing# which I am so glad I did not. Most of the sellers there are big box stores peddling items pretending to be real people. Meanwhile they take advantage of average women encouraging them to drop prices on expensive items like Kate Spade which is redonkulous. This company only cares about themselves and is geared around only themselves making money. Its like ebay but run by women who act like the high school snitch. If you feel like wasting time and money so other people can ruin it all in a heartbeat go for it. Why is it every other site on the internet will let you sell and ship perfume POSHMARK? They have it all figured out and make more money than you. Why pick on people making you money its a very dopey policy that only costs your company money sellers buy and buyers sell. Word of mouth travels fast too.

Poshmark has the WORST customer service on the planet! They DO NOT stand behind anything! As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Be aware there is A LOT of shotty merchandise on their site. I paid $445 for some CLEARLY defective leggings... took over 10 days to TRY VERY hard on my part to do a return. I showed all the evidence and more of how BADLY put together they are! If we had a court hearing, I would have won hands down. They just denied me today, and then INSULTED me with a $20 credit to find something else. This was a VERY EXPENSIVE, NOT RIGHT ORDER!
I say to you all, if you do buy from them, DO NOT give up your fight. I then went to my credit card company, told them ALL the horror stories of these leggings, and they agreed with me. They also are NOT a fan of Poshmark, as they get many complaints such as mine against them quite frequently.
Just do yourselves a favor... please buy from other sites YOU CAN TRUST, even if you have to pay a bit more. You won't be sorry, I promise you! Poshmark's greed, and who care's about you attitude, will HOPEFULLY shut them DOWN one day VERY soon! My case went on for 9 days... RIDICULOUS!
I say again, PLEASE DO NOT SHOP THIS SITE, and BOYCOTT IT as I now will. They are the SUCKIEST of the SUCKY! Other REPUTABLE sites will have what you want, and the VERY BEST customer service to go with it!

It's a discouraging place to shop on, to say the least.

I was searching for a specific bikini top to replace the same exact one I currently have and there were several in my size available from different sellers on Poshmark, all great prices and were supposedly like new. I ordered one.

Now, people keep saying there is no way to get a refund on Poshmark, but when I placed my order, I was told that your payment is not released to the seller unless you accept the order upon receiving it by going to the site and going through the process of accepting/releasing your payment to the seller. Obviously Poshmark does this because their seller reputation is not so great. So, you do have the chance to decide whether you want to keep your order or get your money back before it's too late. Its a good policy. But it's also a forewarning that you are highly likely to be dissatisfied with your order and want your money back. So it's up to you whether you want the hassle of ordering something that won't work out, but you CAN get your money back. Do not accept the order online unless you feel you got exactly what you paid for!

My experience with Poshmark has consisted of my order not being shipped within the 3-5 days the seller has to ship it. After 7 days Poshmark emails you saying that they have contacted the seller and not gotten a response, so you now have the chance to cancel your order and get your money back. I chose to do that and try ordering the bikini top from another seller. The same exact thing happened again. I did get my money back for the first order, and just a moment ago cancelled the last one to get my reimbursement, and will be checking to make sure it shows up in my bank account.

It hasn't been the worst experience for me because unlike several reviewers I didn't lose a cent. But it was a waste of time and I won't ever go on the Poshmark site again.

My piece of advice, FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES TO ENSURE YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK. Do NOT accept an order unless it's exactly what you want in the condition you were told it would be in!

I started selling with Poshmark in March of 2018. I had been doing really well, consistently receiving 5-star ratings from buyers. Poshmark's return policy is very strict and items cannot be returned for buyer remorse reasons or if the item doesn't fit, which sets the stage for lying when a buyer is hell-bent on returning an item for a refund. I had a buyer purchase a pair of distressed jeans. Almost 48 hours after delivery, she decides she wants to open a case alleging that the jeans arrived "very very damp" and they weren't as described in the listing. She never actually provided information to back up her latter claim, never once even spelled out what was inconsistent, she just kept harping on the lie that the jeans arrived damp. She submitted one very dim photo of a small section of the jeans, as though to take a photo by a candle light. I promptly responded stating that I mailed the jeans dry and in the condition described in the listing. I had just taken photographs of them literally hours before she purchased and I shipped them. Despite her baseless claim, the Case Reviewer with Poshmark does nothing in response except make a terse statement about requesting additional photos from the buyer. The buyer never responds to the request for additional photos, her last statement didn't even include her allegation about the jeans not being as described she simply harped on about them being damp and said she would just keep them if I wasn't going to agree to a refund. Three business days have lapsed since Poshmark's request for additional photos. I honestly feel like Poshmark uses bots to handle their cases, as it feels as though the case is being handled by a malfunctioning bot. There is no way to escalate or request the assistance of a supervisor. You have to send an email to support only to receive a canned "we're working on it, thank you for your patience" type of response which appears to come from a bot as they don't actually seem to be reading the content of my email. Also, they take a couple of days to respond to your question. Poshmark's whole process is most punitive towards the seller, as this buyer has my merchandise and Poshmark has not released my earnings.

I was a seller on Poshmark and was scammed out of an high fashion item. Before I dig into my review of the site
I think buyers should have realistic expectations. If you want a brand new Chanel purse for $100 you too are a scammer. These buyers want boxes dust bags receipts and perfect condition items but really don't want to pay for it. Poshmark isn't retail it's resale no one owes you a receipt! You are attempting to scam Chanel out of thousands of dollars. If authencity means that much and you want a perfect authentic go to the Chanel store and give them their money. Otherwise, you're really no better than the sellers you criticize. Now on to my review. I've seen much commentary about scamming sellers. Well folks there's such a thing as scamming buyers. Scoundrels that try to steal your products by cancelling after you told them it has shipped. People that wear stuff then return it claiming it was damaged when received. Folks that say they received an empty box. I had a scamming buyer cancel an item after I shipped and Poshmark has yet to resolve this issue after two weeks. Poshmark has no customer service you are lucky to get an email response. How could a company of this size thrive and advertise without being shut down is beyond me
Though, I do think it's just a matter of time. Poshmark has created a platform that fosters bullying. Anyone can come on your listings and say anything! If you block them they can still see your listings and your customers and talk your customers against you. Horrible platform, horrible miserable sellers that hate on successful sellers. It won't be very long before the truth comes out.

Hit or Miss
April 6, 2015

I signed up with Poshmark a while back probably about a year ago. I hadn't started a closet until very recently. I try to be a conscientious seller by putting things in the mail the day they are purchased or the day after. Unfortunately, not all sellers abide by the same rule. Poshmark has a 7 day rule for shipping items. In my opinion that is too long. The purchase is charged to the card the day of the sale so it should go out in the mail that same day.

I purchased a dress that the seller did not bother to disclose had a tear in one of the seams so in addition to what I paid, I paid another $10.75 to have it fixed by a seamstress. I rated the seller low and let her know she should have disclosed the tear.

Another item was a skirt that the seller washed in very heavily fragranced detergent or she just used way too much detergent on. I had to wash it about 3 times for it to come out. It also had a stain on it that looked like perhaps the seller was eating or drinking while she was packaging the item. Not all sellers are active on Poshmark so it's not uncommon to buy something and not get it in a timely fashion, if at all. For this reason I suggest leaving a comment on the item and seeing how long it takes the seller to respond back. This is a barometer of how long it will take them to get off the couch and ship it.

Also, some sellers have more than one account. It's just a mess on there. The offer option is just dumb imo b/c most sellers refuse to go down on the price.

In terms of receiving credit for a sale, that is determined by the date the buyer goes in and ACCEPTS the item. I recently sold something and the buyer took 4 days to click ACCEPT in the app which delayed me from getting credit. Does anyone know if there's a payout method or is it strictly a credit?

I started selling on poshmark about 7-8 months ago and can honestly state that I have made a lot of money since I started selling on the app. Although it can take awhile to sell items I 100% recommend for items to be sold on here then mercari or eBay. Although they do side with the buyer, your returns are also protected and you as a seller can also receive help from the poshmark team. I have sold over 60 listings on poshmark and have only had two issues with items, one was buyer remorse while the other was actually a scam from a buyer. To make a long story short, a lady I sold Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks to tried to claim that they were fake and provided botched swatches. After providing receipts of authenticity this lady then proceeded to make up another lie saying they were expired and I then proceeded to prove that wrong and stated that I would feel uncomfortable receiving an item that had been swatched and used by another customer when that was not the condition in which I sent the item. Poshmark ended up providing refunds for the buyer and also releasing me my money, although it was upsetting the scammer got what she wished for I have to say I was at least satisfied with the fact that they protected me as a seller also. As for the people complaining about counterfeit items I cannot stress enough how important it is to find out who you are buying from. Unfortunately there are scammers on this app who sell fake items and I have seen so many sold on the app when just scrolling through different listings. If you ever need reassurance before purchasing an item like makeup please contact someone who knows makeup or do some research before hand or you can get scammed. You can even contact me if you need help deciding if an item is fake or not. I would not recommend purchasing big brand items like Gucci or LV because you can easily be duped, beware and careful but remember if an item is fake you can request a return and it will most likely be approved!

Do not sell expensive designer stuff on postmark
February 17, 2023

Do not sell you valuable designer bags or shoes on poshmark! They are not qualified or equipped for it! I sold my very expensive Dior bag through them and it was a One Month Nightmare. They first asked me to to ship it to their office in CA for quality and authenticity verification ( which is good) but instead of taking their usual 4 days ( other sites take up to 24 hours only) poshmark held my bag for over 10 days in their office I had provided a full receipt from the store with my name on it and credit card receipt attached. After 6 days of my bag sitting in their office I wrote numerous emails demanding my bag to be shipped back to me that I do not feel comfortable anymore with the procedure poshmark replied about 1 out of 3 emails taking 1-3 days to answer ( they do not have a phone number to reach, they do not reply to all email your emails and they can take uo to 3 days to reply if they do). After all my requests to send me my bag back they sent me an email after 10 days saying my bag was approved and sent to the buyer. After my bag arrived at the buyers house he still had 3 days to do his own "approval" and he submitted a request for return saying he doesn't think my bag was atheistic! I on my hand did not think to worry since Poshmark themselves approved the bag, I still had my receipt from the store and cc receipt as well. And yet Poshmark decided to approve his request to return my bag! Imagine the feeling of someone holding your bag for days and then returning it to you and not even back to Poshmark office for quality return check up! Poshmak not only agreed for buyer to send my bag back but didn't even take it in to make sure it is in the same condition as it was before they sent it to him! The bag was on the way back to me with the cheapest service usps it too 10 days to get back.
The worst customer service communication.
The worst authentication process.
The worst seller protection.
I will never sell anything worth more than $100 on poshmark.

I just decided to empty my "Poshmark Closet"! My husband just purchased this gorgeous dress for me on Poshmark. This purchase was based on the answers given by the Seller to other Poshers. Why would we pay $71 for a dress if I knew that the info she gave me was incorrect or false. After 3 days of sending pictures and going through this case (which was probably a pacifier anyway) they gave me a $5.00 credit! What an insult! It does not even cover the shipping I paid for it! (which is $6.49). This is the 2nd time that I opened a case...(I rarely complain). I have been with Poshmark now for about a year and I am totally done. I have received dirty clothing in the past and I could clearly smell that the seller had worn it and just tossed it in a box to ship out. Gross!
I have noticed a lot of bullying and shaming of others! Misleading comments, sellers suggesting to others to just check the "never received order/item". So that buyer and seller get their money back! (seriously?) I have noticed people left and right offering to sell through PayPal or other sites thus not to have to pay the 20%.
I can now understand the 20% is ridiculously high if there is no buyer protection or a decent seller protection. Because of another case I have noticed that Poshmark tends to take sides. (NOT ETHICAL). They allow all kinds of %^&* if the seller is constantly making money for them.
Yes Yes! Poshmark is doing great! They always get 20% of the sell.
So... I am now stuck with a gorgeous Sherri Hill (valued at $450) dress that can not even be altered and the seller just tossed it in a plastic bag and glued a shipping label on it. I rather donate my clothes or give it away than ever paying another 20% to Poshmark. Never ever again. Removing this app off my phone as soon as my recent orders have arrived! Buyers BEWARE! They really do not care!
Oh... I added this because I just realized...
Watch out while on the app. While swiping to watch all the items go by it is sooooo very easy to accidentally purchase an item!

Seller beware part 2!
August 22, 2015

Well I wrote a review about a pair of curtains I sold on poshmark and the buyer claimed they were defective. Well here is the update she sent me my own photos I took at first and after asking her where her photos were she sent me a few photos of my now damaged curtains that wasn't damaged before. She first told me she loved the curtains and was only asking poshmark a question not true she made a case complaint of item not as described in description of item in my closet. The seam of the curtain is now damaged so now I'm out money and my curtains. Poshmark sided with her without even asking for my proof that they weren't damaged. I tried to call the corporate number but surprise that number is a fake. The woman then called me crazy because I'm defending my reputation as a seller on poshmark as well as being called a liar. So she blocked me. I believe she tried to put the curtains on the rod and ripped the seam. So now I'm blocked but she can continue to bother me so I screen shot the conversation sent it to poshmark yet no response from them. At first when I joined I was excited I had a 5 star rating now with the rude buyers and poshmark making it easy for buyers to make a false claim against you in order to get their money back if they just on a whim change their mind about wanting the product. I don't even enjoy buying or selling any longer. The hassle isn't worth the small $5 profit your only making after poshmark takes their cut of the sale. They claim great protection for both buyers and sellers well from where I'm sitting the buyer has the upper hand. So beware who you sell to before your living my nightmare.

I have to admit that I have no one to blame but myself - I should've read the reviews first, so my loss would've been prevented. But for those who can benefit from prior knowledge of the apparently common scheme running on Poshmark - here goes.

I sold a dress to this buyer for (as per her own admission) an upcoming wedding. The dress was identified by the manufacturer (Badgley Mischka) as "Red Gown with Shawl", although the actual color was with a fuchsia tint, which the pictures on my site were clearly shown.

I shipped this dress the same day I've accepted the offer, in the original garment bags for both the dress and the shawl, using a large USPS box to prevent wrinkles. Two days later the buyer opened the case regarding this sale claiming "the color was not as described" (I had 4 pictures posted, in different light, mind you). The case was approved shortly, but it took the buyer almost ten more days (and probably the weekend for this wedding) to ship the dress back. When I got it, I was really shocked it was shipped back to me shoved in the medium size envelope, with no garment bags or hanger (I don't understand why the buyer took the shawl out the zipped bag if the color of the dress is not as described?). In addition, the dress was stained, and the boning structure of the corset was bent and twisted.

I contacted the customer service, but as people on previous reviews mentioned they brushed me off with the cant confirm the original state of the item shipped bull$#*! and quite insulting $10 credit to my account.

I am writing to the CEO of Poshmark, but have no hope of my situation, meaning falling a victim of the common Poshmark scheme being resolved. I only hope that people who are reading this review would think twice before using Poshmark.

I bought something from Poshmark and the seller sent me a different item (and sent another buyer my item). I immediately used their online process for indicating that I received the wrong item, and included a request that the order be cancelled (because I did not want the hassle of waiting for them to locate the item, etc. -- I said in my initial communication that I decided to purchase the item elsewhere). Following that straight-forward request:
1.) I received an email from Poshmark telling me that they had located the item I purchased and would be asking the person it was mistakenly shipped to to send it to me.
2.) I immediately sent another email reminding them that I no longer wanted the item, and asked them again to refund my money.
3.) I then received an email with a shipping label to send the item I mistakenly received to the real buyer. The email indicated that they had provided my home address to that person and asked her to send me the item I purchased (but no loner wanted).
4.) I emailed again reminding Poshmark that I did not want the item shipped to me, and asking that they cancel the order and refund my money.
5.) The next email from Poshmark told me they could not cancel the order until I shipped the item I had received to the actual buyer.
6.) I responded right away saying that I had shipped the item 2 days earlier using the shipping label they had sent me. Again, I requested that they cancel the order and refund my money.
7.) The next communication I got from Poshmark said that they had good news-the person that mistakenly received my order had put it in the mail.
8.) I sent another email requesting that they cancel the order and refund my money, reminding them that I did not want the item.
9.) The response I received said that they had good news again- they noticed that the item had arrived at my house and assumed this resolved the issue.
10.) At this point, it seems like this may be a joke? Of course, they do not have a phone number to speak to a real person. Now I guess my only recourse is to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

I am genuinely shocked at what appears to be extreme incompetence OR willful decision to ignore any requests that doesn't suit their needs.

There are many reasons that you should avoid poshmark and I'll tell you why.
1 No "actual " customer service. The phone number that you found online is completely useless, it goes straight into the voicemail and it's pain in the butt to write email back and forth.
2 People sometimes are rude and leave nasty comment under your picture because the price that you're selling is too high or sometimes they just leave unnecessary comment but you can't even delete them? And those comments make it looks like your fault but at the same time you can't delete it so you have to repost it.
3 Buyer can rate about the transaction but seller cannot. So if the bad rating is based on a untrue fact, you can't do anything.

Personal experience:
If you decide to sell on poshmark. Be careful to have all of the pictures of your items and the shipping receipt. I have heard all kinds of scary story on poshmark and due to the poor system on poshmark, don't expect too much from them.

I recently just sold an item and the buyer files a claim saying that my item was damaged, stained and broken. Poshmark didn't inspect the items by themselves which is not fair for the seller. They simply asked for the picture from the buyer and decide to ship the items back to me? Furthermore, the buyer came to my page leaving nasty comment and harassing me. I'm writing an email now and hope to file a claim for prove my item is not damage, broken or stained. Please do not use this site if you don't want to go through the unnecessary process like me. There's a lot more better place to sell your used clothes than poshmark and they have better protection for both the buyers and sellers too.

UPDATE:
Just trying to be clear, my item wasn't damaged or stained. As soon as I received my item returned from the buyer, I took a couple pictures and wrote an email to the customer service to file a claim for their mistake. 2-3 days after, I heard back from them. Poshmark apologized and refunded me the money.

Poor Customer Service
February 29, 2024

I've been a seller on Poshmark for 4 years. Last week, I sold a pair of pants on Poshmark. They were delivered to the buyer on the 24th. Poshmark has a 72 hour window for the buyer to rate the purchase. If they don't, Poshmark will release funds so the buyer gets paid. It was well past 72 hours, and I had not been paid and the buyer didn't rate the purchase, so I sent a message to Poshmark requesting to get paid. I got no response from Poshmark. There was a "your payment is on hold," notice at the bottom of the sold listing. I had no idea why. On the 27th, the buyer sent me a message, stating that the pants were dirty on the surface and had soiling in the crotch. I asked for pictures, but she didn't submit any. Yesterday, I got a notification from Poshmark that the buyer opened a case for dirty pants. I sent Poshmark my pictures of my listing, but they didn't respond to me. They approved the buyer's case. The pants were CLEAN when I listed, sold and shipped them. The buyer ruined them, so I cannot resell them. Poshmark is practicing unfair business with their sellers! The buyer is trying to scam me, and Poshmark is an accomplice to this! #1: They don't communicate or reply back to e-mails, and they have no one answering their phones. #2: They don't release your payment after 72 hours. It was over 85 hours, and they allowed the buyer to open a case and then accepted it 5 days later! #3: Poshmark froze my account without telling me why or giving me prior notice, so I was not able to do anything for over a day!

The first four pictures are mine. You can clearly see that the pants are clean. The last picture is the buyer's. You can tell they aren't the same pants. They are a different color, material and have different tags.
