“Customer service was solid”

Sacca G.
2/5/24

While purchasing tickets for Cabaret on Broadway, I accidentally purchased tics for the wrong date (had 2 windows open!). I immediately realized my mistake, found a customer service phone number and called. I explained what happened to 'Kate', and was told that it may be possible to exchange tickets for the date I actually wanted. About 4 hours later I received a call back with a confirmation that the exchange had gone through and that my new tics were available on the app. I know that SeatGeek policy is that all purchases are final, but because these tics were a few months out they were able to assist. I appreciated the customer service.

“Bogus tickets”

Kwan J.
11/25/24

Bought football game tickets for the Eagles and Rams yesterday (11/24/24), tickets were sent and available in my seat geek app. We get to the stadium and the tickets are invalid. We talk to box office and someone has already used the tickets earlier so we're SOL. We waste the entire first quarter waiting in line to resolve the issue and the first half chatting with customer service. I contacted seat geek and they say they'll investigate but it'll take 5 days. Completely unacceptable. Because we'd traveled and were already at the stadium, we bought separate tickets at the box office but the only ones left were at the very top row in a corner section. What was supposed to be a fun night at the game turned into a nightmare and the entire night was ruined. Buying with seat geek is not worth the risk, you could end up out of money with no tickets.

I needed to sell my tickets and the overall review of seatgeek were decent so I listed my tickets on here. I should've done further research and avoided using them. My tickets sold, I was happy because I expected to get reimbursed within the two weeks. I thought it would work like Stubhub. I was wrong. I decided to check my status and I read that you do not get reimbursed until AFTER the event. Naturally, that ticked me the wrong way. I reached out to their (lack of) customer service to get more information. It bothers me that the tickets that I paid for has been sold to someone else, seatgeek has been paid for it, but will not give me anything until AFTER the event. This is to protect their "buyer" but how about your seller? I now do not have tickets that I paid for (now belongs to someone else) and I haven't got paid. This event isn't until July. So now I have to keep my eye on this for two months! Oh and what did their customer service say "you are guaranteed payout IF the tickets scan at the event." So what if this person that purchases it from me, doesn't go for whatever reason? I don't get reimbursed because it wasn't scanned? That shouldn't be my problem. I should get paid for what I sold. Seriously, this has me beyond aggravated. I never will use such a company again. My solution? Pay me what I am owed and be done.

Hi Terry. We're very grateful that you took the time out to share your feedback about the seller side of our SeatGeek Marketplace and we are so sorry you had a negative experience. You're absolutely right that we wait to payout sellers until 24 hours after the event takes place and you're totally correct in saying it is to protect our customers who are buying tickets. SeatGeek Marketplace is one of our newest features and we're always looking into ways to make it better for all of our customers. We're constantly looking into ways that we can make the ticket buying experience safer and more enjoyable for everyone and your comments help point us in the right direction. We'd love to hear more about your use of the SeatGeek Marketplace so that we can get a clearer picture of how to improve going forward. Please email us at hi@seatgeek.com and we'll continue our discussion there.

I bought tickets to a The Weeknd concert as a gift to brother. The return policy states that if an event is postponed, you get a credit to use for the future purchase of those tickets. If the event is cancelled, you can get a cash refund. The concert that I booked was postponed, so I was issued credit in the form of a promo code. I bought tickets to the rescheduled concert, and then the entire concert and tour was cancelled altogether. I tried to get a cash refund, but according to Seat Geek, since I "used a promo code" to purchase the tickets, I couldn't get that money refunded, even though the "promo code" that I used was my own money. I've been trying to get a refund for months, and the tickets were purchased over 2 years ago. Your emails won't be answered for weeks and sometimes not at all, and they don't even list their support number on their website (it's *******101, by the way; please call them as much as possible). The company is totally untrustworthy and doesn't even follow through on their own policies. I would give them 0 stars, but that's not possible. Please don't buy anything from this awful company, because even though they're a big name, they're complete scam artists.

After purchasing tickets ($163 pp) on SeatGeek because of aa friend, I found a lower price on StubHub ($135 pp and where I usually buy tix and should have this time). I followed their procedures for the price match guarantee and the only response was a form letter with instructions for the price match guarantee. I emailed them requesting clarification and all I got was the same form letter email. After the second request, with the same response, I called and the person told me to resend the request. I did and got the same old email. I called again and got David, who seemed very helpful, as he had me resend my request directly to him. He eventually responded that the screen shot of StubHub did not for the same row as the SeatGeek tickets and therefore would not match the StubHub price. They were NOT paying attention. If they had looked carefully they would have seen that it WAS for the same section and row. I've wasted many hours over two days and my issue is still not resolved. I will NOT be using SeatGeek ever again

Bought some tickets to Wicked in New York for a Saturday night 8:00 showing. When my confirmation came through it said that I had bought tickets for a Wednesday night 7:00 showing. I called seat geak and they said they couldn't help me at all and to go and talk to the box office which I did. The box office couldn't help because I bought the tickets through seat geek. I asked her if this kind of thing happened a lot and she said "It happens all the time." Called seat geek back and told them what the box office had said and they told me that they had more tickets for Saturday night and in order to reimburse me my money I had to buy the tickets for Saturday nights show which were over $150 more than the original price. I asked the seat geek representative if it would be possible for someone to list their tickets online for a certain night and have the actual tickets be for a different night. Long story short, he confirmed to me that this would be possible. So, pretty much, seat geek will let certain buyers post their tickets online without verifying that the tickets are actually for the date posted. Now we're out $250 dollars with no show. If I could give negative stars I would.

Hello Carri, thanks for reaching out. We took a further look at this order, and can confirm that the order that was placed was for the Wednesday, August 2nd show at 7:00pm. As many shows, specifically Broadway shows and similar events, have many active events at any given time, we always recommend double-checking the order information before submitting the order. While typically all sales are final, I do see that a representative agreed to process a courtesy refund for this order in full for the trouble, while you will be receiving within 5 business days. Please let us know if you have any other questions regarding the order, we're happy to help!

PUBLICpublished review 1/23/19
We bought tickets to Panic! At The Disco on seatgeek, made travel arrangements (hotel, gas, food, etc), and took time off of work. When we got to the box office, they told us our tickets were invalid. Apparently, quite a frequent scam, the original owner sold the seats to seatgeek and then requested a refund from ticket master so seatgeek essentially sold tickets that didn't exist. Seatgeek could only guarantee 120% refund which doesn't even compare to what we spent trying to get to the show (all we wanted was tickets which were sold out... there weren't even scalpers selling tickets on the street). I am so disgusted with the service from seatgeek, which people (myself included) thought was a reputable company. When I was told I needed to call customer service, it was nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find their phone number. The whole system seems like a scam. When I tried to leave a review on the sight that gave them high reviews, there was not even an option to give a review, so I'm pretty sure they're paying off a ratings site. I will NEVER buy tickets from seatgeek again since they cannot guarantee your tickets and I strongly urge everyone else to consider looking elsewhere.

Hi Dominique, thanks for taking the time to leave your review. After looking over your checkout process, it looks like you'd been displaying your ticket listings without the fees included (the fees are still shown directly underneath the ticket price, they're just not included in the base price that's displayed). We unfortunately can't refund tickets for this reason.

If you decide to purchase tickets again from SeatGeek, just make sure to toggle your filters so you're showing your tickets "with fees included," and you shouldn't run into this issue again!

I ordered two tickets to a venue from Seat Geek (owned and operated by Ticketmaster@$799 per ticket plus a 20% handling fee. My order was charged to my credit card. I received an invoice along with the QR codes for the two seats. Three days later I receive an email stating the seats are no longer valid and asking for my PayPal email address to process a refund. I ordered using my Visa credit card and do not have a PayPal account. After making multiple attempts to find a customer service phone number on the internet I finally reached an agent that was polite and courteous but kept talking in circles when asked about what happened with the tickets. She wanted to roll my monies paid into an American Express gift card so that I could repurchase the tickets. She said American Express is the sponsor of the performance and that's how it had to be processed. Feeling very uncomfortable about how she wanted to transact this matter I told her I'd like to think the matter through. The next day I call back (ironically the same agent answers) and ask to talk to a supervisor. I'm promptly connected with a person that says he is the supervisor. I asked him about this transaction and he kept saying something about me not having purchased the insurance is why they would have to transact in that unusual manner. I have no idea why that would even enter into the discussion. I asked more than once for a logical explanation as to why I lost my purchased tickets. I only kept getting answers that were going around in circles. I finally raised my voice in frustration to which the supervisor hung up on me.
The exact tickets are relisted on Ticketmaster now for $999 each before handling charges. It is very obvious that whoever listed them did not fulfill the rules and regulations set by Seat Geek/Ticketmaster which clearly states that sellers are forbidden to cancel an order with a buyer once purchased in order to relist at a higher price. Well that's exactly what transpired and yet Seat Geek/Ticketmaster did nothing to assist in the matter. BUYER BEWARE with this operation as they clearly set rules and regulations but do not follow or enforce them.

I recommend to go with any other provider for your tickets than SeatGeek! Even the agent on the phone said "you have much more Felixibility with Seathub and we don't offer refounds and there nothing our office does to help customers since we are the secondary holder for all the tickets" what kind of bull$#*! is that? So basically you $#*! yourself over if you purchase from SeatGeek. I asked the agent if I was able to speak to a manager regarding my concerns and he said no. I said I have used SeatGeek in past and I was looking forward to be a customer because of my on resolved issue I was going to discontinue to be a customer and they didn't even care. In the past I have purchased tickets and I had been content until this event that I ran into problems with the event being delayed 3 times and now it is to be determined. My friends have already resounded their tickets in the meantime I spoke 7 agents spend hours of wasted times. Thanks for treating your customer like $#*!. SeatGeak! I will never purchase from this place again. The agent were unhelpful and rude.

NET: DO NOT ASSOCIATE YOURSELF WITH SEAT GEEK!

I ordered 4 tickets to an NHL game on 12/9 (Game is in January). First issue was due to some glitch, the fees (which were outrageous - over 30%) did not show up until after the order was accepted. I immediately contacted their customer service support and they said all sales are final. I explained to them that the sale had not even been fulfilled yet (I had not received my tickets), so they said they would investigate.

In the meantime, I finally received my tickets and they were in a different row than what I ordered. I again contacted customer support to get an update on my cancellation as well as explain to them that the tickets I ordered were NOT what was sent to me. They referred me to their company policy that says they can fulfill tickets within 5 rows of what you ordered.

I once again escalated within their customer support organization, but unfortunately no one ever responded (3 different customer support individuals known as Kurt S, James, and Adriana all promised to get back to me and none of them did).

I am now going down the path of putting a stop on my credit card and showing the bank all the screen shots I took of my order, tickets delivered and the 3 customer support chat sessions.

Ticketmaster has similar tickets to the same game, cheaper price and way cheaper fees that are clearly shown.

Tip for consumers:
DO NOT USE SEAT GEEK!

Use Ticketmaster....Cheaper prices, more transparent, more ethical

Bought Dallas Cowboy tickets and received in the mail. On game day, the bar code on the ticket wouldn't scan at the entry. They allowed us to go in and escorted us to ticket disputes. We found out that the duplicate tickets were scan already by another couple and they were in our seats. The original owner had sold the tickets twice. Once on seatgeek and then on NFL resale tickets website. We had the original tickets where the other people had printed Ticketmaster tickets for the same seats. We were told that the original ticket holder had sold them on the NFL resale website as well and that the tickets purchased on the NFL resale site took precedence over any other third party ticket resaler. So they got the seats and we were left without tickets after purchasing them from seatgeek for $700. Now we are trying to get seatgeek to refund us the money which they won't do until they can get their money from the original ticket owner. Note that we bought round trip airline tickets and hotel expensive to travel to Dallas for the game that didn't happen. Don't buy tickets from Geekseats ever again!

Hi Delma,

We are so sorry to hear about this horrible experience and can only imagine how frustrating and disappointing it was to have traveled all the way to the game only to be turned away! We take many measures to prevent fraud, and there's nothing we hate more than finding out that these measures failed.

It sounds like you've already reached out to us to start your refund process. While we'd love to refund you immediately, since we do not process payments ourselves we unfortunately have no way to refund your card directly, which is why we recommend having the seller process the refund for you. Hopefully your refund is on its way to you by now, but if you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at hi@seatgeek.com! We'll do everything we can to advocate for you to the seller and make sure that you're made whole as soon as possible.

I bought 3 tickets way in advance to a sold out show on Memorial weekend. Obviously, did not want to wait until the day of to find out whether or not the tickets would arrive. This was my first time using SeatGeek and I was really worried since I put down a lot of money for the tickets.

I had contacted SeatGeek way in advance to ask questions like "if this will be delivered as an e-ticket, why would it take so long to get delivered?" and worse, "Why do I have an email and SeatGeek confirmation that my order of 3 tickets were delivered, but only two tickets are showing for download?"

SeatGeek/Customer Support was really helpful and responded to me within 24hours (way quicker than I expected based off of the reviews). Luckily, they found out that the pdf uploader on their end messed up and they emailed me the full delivery of 3 tickets.

If this hadn't worked out I actually would have been leaving an awful review, but the show was amazing - front row and no issues upon arrival. And I'm extremely happy that the SeatGeek Staff/Customer Support never left me hanging.

It might have been helpful that I had purchased from a "SeatGeek" Vendor and not another vendor through SeatGeek such as ticketcity or razorgator etc. I felt that Customer Support had more obligation to help me with issues or concerns since as a consumer from their seller/vendor, I would fall under their jurisdiction and not that of the other sites.

Tip for consumers:
Try to buy from a SeatGeek Vendor
