I ordered two items in November. I received one, the other was back ordered and said to be shipping in January. The item arrived in March, well past the intended fall/winter season. I requested a refund and waived return fees. The rep obliged. When I received my refund, it was short by approximately $25. I called, thinking it was an error. Nope. The explanation: the charge for the item shipped in November was not the full price, even though it was the amount stated on the order. Who does business like this and retroactively changes a price? Isn't that illegal?
Ordered wrong size and tried to exchange but it wasn't available so had to return. Once returned my credit was $20 less, because they charged me for shipping. It's a racket!
I've ordered numerous tops, constant delays, terrible customer service, even spoke with the owner via email, she apologized gave me a coupon, Doesn't matter if you have terrible customer service and product issues! They're not going to last long at this rate. Don't buy from this company!
Soft Surroundings has a very high rate for standard shipping. (one skirt $9.95), and that was not an overnight rate. The On top of the high shipping rate, they also charge another $7 to return an item. To make matters worse, they are extremely slow in crediting refunds. Customer service attitude leaves much to be desired. The second item I ordered was $46 total, and the credit I received was $25 due to all the shipping deductions. Of all the major online retailers, I have never experienced this kind of rip off. Buyer Beware! In addition, when I checked with SS regarding the delay in posting credits, they blamed the post office in my city for holding my package. NOT TRUE. Their contractor held the package for TEN days. Buyer Beware!
I have only had positive experiences with Soft surroundings. I bought a beautiful comforter and pillow shams and several articles of clothing. The comforter was expensive but very well made as were the clothing. I can only say from other reviews that I read that these companies who have rude customer service reports need to get rid of the rude people. People want good customer service and the companies don't realize what a negative impact their employees are having on their businesses. But I love soft surroundings for the great quality and workmanship.
After visiting new store to see/touch items. Discovered their greatly reduced prices online. Very happy with every single item from novelty sweatshirt to dressy top w/flounce to simple ribbed summer top and leggings. Love that XL items are fully cut to avoid 1X and that most tops are 27-28" to cover bottom. Have received compliments when wearing. No need for returns so cannot comment. Now
My friends plan to start purchasing from Soft Surroundings, especially when $79-89 tops are on sale for $39-49! Just retired so now can buy the fun casual items that don't need to be suitable for office. Especially loved the tiered bottom straight leg pants & the lavender sweatshirt w/lace trim for less than $30.
I am a petite person so my wedding dress is a bit long but nothing a pair of very high wedges won't fix. They are quick with their orders and the quality is very good. Sometimes a little expensive but "Good is good" so I have no complaints.
High price, poor quality and forget getting items shipped in this lifetime! Store tells item will be received by certain date (within 1 week of purchase) and I've been waiting for a month with delivery now said to be in another 2 weeks per conversation with online service rep.
They should get out of retail and get into catalog design business... catalog is great, but quality and service of clothing line not so much.

After wearing the al fresco tunic twice, I hand washed it in cold water as the label instructed. It shrunk so much I can no longer wear my $69.95 top! Customer service said it can't be returned since it has been worn and laundered. How is one to know there will be major shrinking before you wear or wash the item.?

The blue tunic is the same size as the orange but the orange is the laundered one.
Answer: I would have said, forget it. Their service is very slow, both receiving and especially returning. Plus the shipping to you is high and then you pay a terrible amount to return it. I won't buy from them again. Linda.

Answer: There is obviously a valid reason that there are NO reviews of items on their website. And that's because the overwhelming satisfaction rate of most customers is horrible! Save your time and headache, and skip this company over.
