I appreciate Thrive and all they stand for. I pay for a membership to have access to the organic vegan goods they can provide in a rural setting which are otherwise hard to get. I enjoy supporting a company with values I align with. And then there's the Thrive reality of stranding people who are depending on them, who have paid in advance for their services and goods while celebrating that customer donations have allowed thrive to add many charity customers in need to the thrive community for COVID relief. I had all my own challenges as my thrive order did not come for a couple weeks past previously advertised delivery times, just having moved in the middle of COVID madness and arriving to my new dwelling with it's empty cupboards and fridge; however I'm not as fragile as some and I figured out how to take care of myself as I spent twice as much on groceries and double ordered and double shopped at a time when everyone is counting their pennies. My real disappointment was that I'd gifted my elderly father with a Thrive membership to support him in eating the organic functional cage-free diet he's supposed to be on after a couple years of health issues, and as his order did not arrive and did not arrive he's made continued trips to the local walmart (the only grocery available to him); and now after still not receiving the shipment, which was eventually cancelled, he will be going to walmart yet again and having another exposure which for him is more risky. I wholly applaud Thrive in their ideal of supporting people in need, and I am by no means promoting a me first attitude, however sometimes it's the people who are your regular customers who are the ones in need of support, and largely in need of those they rely on to just do their job well.
