Today we had the pleasure of meeting Ms Karyn S. From the Kildeer IL store. She represented her employer so positively that we went straight to the sight to see what we wanted! Living in New Orleans, she told us there is one in Metairie. I explained that we rarely leave Orleans parish and she let us know that Torrid.com has the same, and sometimes better selection! What a salesperson! We wish she worked for US! Thank you Karyn!
Masonville mall 8:00 pm-the 2 staff on hand were absolutely the laziest, most unfriendly, unhelpful personnel. We had to hunt them down in the store, they couldn't find a price on anything and they refused to let us try anything on with 20 minutes left. No announcement just rude and abnoxious. Will never shop there again-Wednesday October 23
I tried 3 times today. Spent my 30 min lunch on hold, my 15 minute break on hold and never got through. After work spent 50 mins on hold and gave up. That music is depressing and the same music hospitals play while your on hold to make a scan app. I'm DONE.
Tip for consumers:
Go to the store if you want to talk to a human

Not only did they overcharge me by not giving me the discount they said they were giving me, the website refuses to recognize my password and when you click forgot password to get them to email you a link the email never comes. I search every folder. Nothing. They make you jump through hoops to pay the card. Its just clown shoes all around. Plus most of their clothes are ugly and poorly designed so who needs the headache.
Tip for consumers:
Shop elsewhere.

None. They look rubbish on because the designs are crap.
I have tried over and over to give them a try. I'm now at 3 weeks out for my online order. You can't get in the store what they have online so you are forced to order online. Unfortunately they items you order are out of season by the time you get them if you ever get them! You complain and you get a response sent to everyone. You call and can never get thru! Crooks are what they are-holding my $$$$$ hostage

Don’t use shipping

I purchased jeans from the torrid website. Some of the jeans do not fit me. When I purchased the jeans they where on clearance but it did not say final sale. I'm just finding out that anything on clearance at torrid is not returnable. So now Im stuck with 2 pairs of jeans that do not fit me.
I called customer service and they did not help me with my issue at all. I'm a constant shopper at torrid. I have spent so much at there stores and they said I didn't spend enough to receive torrid haute cash. Any one who shops there knows that any time you make a purchase at torrid you are spending at least 80 bucks every time. And that's being cheap. I am so disappointed in their lack of integrity and they lied straight to my face, I have my receipts. I am shocked at the lack of intellect on their ends and their incapability to help me with my query. Wasted close to an hr on the phone and got no help.
Wore thing twice, every time I went to the bathroom the lace shredded and was stuck to me. The pants I got fit so nice, but after a few wears, the crotch/thigh area is shredding. $182 Spent for 2 thongs and 2 pants?! NEXT
Don't get me wrong, I love their clothing. The styles, the sizes. However, the clothes are cheaply made. Everything ends up with holes or snags. I bought dress pants for a funeral, quickly tried them on to see if they fit and packed them up to go out of town. The morning of the funeral, I put the pants on and sat down, sure enough there is a hole in the pants at my knee. I had nothing else to wear, my fault for not checking but nonetheless the pants had a hole and I hadn't even worn them anywhere yet. Good luck returning or getting a refund. Customer service is completely unhelpful. In the past, I've been able to return items to the store, now a very unkind lady is telling me no, they must be shipped back. I shouldn't have to go through that hassle when there is a torrid down the road from me. They are also grossly expensive for such cheaply made clothes. They either need to improve or go out of business because at this point it's just a scam. I'll never buy from Torrid again, sadly.
Ordered a dress a month ago and when it arrived it was the wrong type, color and size. I called customer service and the lady I spoke to was really nice and said she would resubmit my order. I waited another 2 weeks and when I got my package this time it was the right dress but 3 sizes too big. I called customer service once more and this time the lady told me tough luck since the dress was now no longer in stock. I asked for a refund and told her I would send the packages back but the call dropped or she hung up on me. That's when I decided to give up.

I ordered items from Torrid 5 months ago and to this date they have still never arrived. I called Torrid 12 times to try and cancel the order and they assured me they had cancelled it and would issue a refund. 2 months later and I am still waiting for it. When I called this evening i was informed that I owed torrid money?!? Even though they had debited my account (and I have the bank statements to prove this) and the goods did not arrive. I will never ever ever order any items from this company! They are the absolute worst.
I place an order for pick up in store on July 24 and it's August 22 now and my order is still processing wth. They already took my money. When my order comes, if I don't like it, I'm going to return it and get my money back.

Jeans.
While I like most of the clothes at Torrid, the prices are outrageous. I get that it is a specialty store but that is no reason for the jeans to cost $70! I tried to order some clothes from there during a sale but it changed the price so dramatically that I decided against. They should make the clothes more affordable for the overweight women who are on a budget... or do a poor girl day where everything is on extreme sale. I can't shop there with prices as they are.
First time shopping there, in-store, I was pretty excited. I was in a hurry so I only got a couple things. One very thin, basic t-shirt, and another very thin, basic sleep short. I mean, extremely basic... and so thin they're see-through. I didn't check the tags, as it was my last stop in my mall trip and my sister had a date she needed to get to, so when I was rung up my jaw dropped. I mean, these clothes look like they won't survive 3 rounds in the washer. But I have horrible social anxiety so couldn't find the nerve to speak up and cancel my transaction. I had already had a reader decline my card earlier and didn't want to cause another scene. Guess I'll just stick to online shopping, definitely won't be shopping there again.

I've spent alot of money this past year at torrid. Almost everything I bought is falling apart. You pay 30 to 40 bucks for a shirt and after 1 wash its faded and has strings coming out all over. I feel robbed to be honest. And I wouldn't even have left this review but they gave me a birthday reward and a bra reward and they cancelled my order and they do not answer emails in a timely manner. When they did finally email me it did not even make sense, they didnt answer my questions or say what happened at all. I bought a pair of black Jean's that came with that funky smell from the dye. I've only ever smelled that on cheap clothes but they charged me 60$ for them. Lol. I just cant believe they out here robbing big girls like this. Because they got cute clothes, big deal. Walmart has way better quality then torrid.
Tip for consumers:
Expensive, low quality clothing. Slow shipping. Some stuff is ok but even their jewelry falls apart

Pants, Jean's, pajamas, shirts, boots, rings, sunglasses
The clothing is aging but not in a good way, it's a bunch of ugly blouses, and tweety bird oversided shirts, mixed with cold shoulder potato sacks... all priced well above where they should be while the quality has been reduced 10 fold. Add in a barrage of constant "sales" driving all their actual sales, at the price these items should have been priced at to begin with.
This is coming from a VIP Torrid member for the last several years, but it just keeps getting worse and I think that membership is going away this year. It's all old, ill-fitting, out of style, and overpriced... Welcome to Lane Bryant 2005.
Ok, let me first say, Im the biggest Negative Nancy on the planet. You can check my Yelp page, and all of my Amazon and Ebay reviews. Im rarely happy with anything. But I do like Torrid. Yeah, they put way too may sculls on their clothes. But Iv personally never had a problem with returns. Store back to store, or online back to store. It gets such high marks cus they have such fashionable jeans that have TALL length. Im a tall AND big girl. Its nearly impossible to get a pair of pants with a decent inseam. Also big points go to them, because anytime I bring my skinny friends or family shopping with me to Torrid, they end up buying more stuff than me. Not even sure how thats possible. Is it my favorite Big Girl retailer? No. But I have no beef with them. And trust me, thats saying something.
Wish I could give them a 0 stars review.
Ordered a wedding dress through ther website only to receive a cancelation email the next day.
No big deal, or so I thought. I went ahead and bought another dress, expecting to see a refund to my account within 48 hours. It's been almost a month, dozens of messages and everything I seem to get back to square one, with customer service representatives telling me what I already know: my order was canceled! Great, I get that, now where's my money?
Torrid, you've lost a loyal customer over this lack of accountability.
I love them so much. My first time shopping there and I am so impressed. I've been looking for homecoming shoes for soooo long since I have wide and long feet. Then I found the shoes online, called, then went in to try on to make sure that they would work. They don't carry heels in store but the people working at the story were the nicest people and went to the back to check what have gotten returned. I was thinking to myself that the stars would have to align in order to have something that would work. They obviously did, because I wound up with the perfect shoes exactly what I was looking for and better yet they don't even sell them online anymore. This is now my favorite store and will be going back often.
I've ordered from Torrid.com a few times after not finding anything I wanted in the one store in my area. Every purchase had something cancelled by torrid and refunded with the reason that item was out of stock. It was in stock online when I purchased it obviously or I wouldn't have been able to do so. I was so frustrated after my last order was fully refunded because NOTHING was in stock that I emailed their customer service asking why I never get my full orders. They claim that their website doesn't update as fast as things sell and that what they actually have on hand isn't accurately reflected online. So, basically, they can sell a tshirt for $55 but not apply any of those proceeds toward updating their website to reflect what they really have in their warehouse.
I'm lucky enough to live near a store, so I have purchased online and in store. Bonus: free shipping if you pick it up at the store. Have purchased shirts, leggings, sweaters, dresses, and a jacket and have found the quality very good to excellent. Have returned things with no issues, including returning online purchase in store. There seems to always be some kind of sale going on, and I was pleased to find that the store let me apply my BOGO promotion discount to an online item when what I wanted wasn't in stock at the store---what a customer-friendly policy. I've also stacked coupons, which many companies don't allow. Only one minor complaint, which was that I got asked multiple times during my last store visit if I was sure I didn't want to add another item to my order to get the discount: not a fan of the hard sell. Love love love their pop culture items.
First time ordering, and they are terrible. Made several orders do to their promotions, but then turns out they change items to final sale after you purchase, and you cannot return them regardless if your receipt shows otherwise. Quality is terrible. Several misprinted items and no response from any of their contact methods. Filed a BBB complaint and no answers. They ripped me off almost $100. The sizing is inconsistent and they massively over price their items so sale price is standard retail. None of the sales they advertise are ever less than the standard amount. I was excited to shop here, but I will NEVER order or purchase, let alone recommend them to anyone.

Don't buy from them.

I tried everything, unfortunately.
I ordered one clearance bra to be shipped to store, order confirmed and got a verification email. I waited a few days and was wondering what's up with my order bc no emails were sent to me, so i went through my order history and it says cancelled (it says if an order is cancelled they will email me - they didn't) and then i checked my bank account and they didn't refund me either! After all this i went to the customer service chat and it was broken! I just want my money back really. :(
Tip for consumers:
i have had multiple people tell me they didn't receive vital emails about their orders also
I once again tried to order from Torrid and had my order canceled again. I've had 3 previous orders canceled as well. Customer service reps hang up on you, don't answer your questions and offer zero incentives to remain a part of their customer base. I was also told you are not allowed to purchase on line/ in app with any payment method that does not have your name on it. So, I if I try to order something with my husband's debit card, it accepts the order and cancels it with zero communication evrn though I've used his card before with no issue. I had to asked this question as not one of the 4 reps I spoke with could explain why my orders were actually canceled.
My latest order was canceled because they were "out of stock" however the item is currently in stock, and the rep lied to me. It appears, from what I can find, it may have had something to do with the coupons I used. So, to summarize, bad business practices, unknowlegable and dishonest reps. If I could give no stars I would.
Tip for consumers:
I highly recommend finding a legitimate clothing retailer who will not jerk you all over the place, lie to you and not refund your money after canceling your order. It's also nice if they actually communicate when there is an error and an order or item needs to be canceled.

None as I never recieved my orders and the first 2 orders are still pending with my financial institution from the beginning of August.
I guess they are trying something new and they are making the clothes when you order. After that they then choose the cheapest and most indirect shipping method available. I placed an order on June 15th. It FINALLY shipped on July 5th and the delivery date is July 15th. I live in Oklahoma and it shipped from Ohio. I'd heard with the rising price of gas that the Pony Express was making a comeback.
Tip for consumers:
Buy from somewhere else
Carly, customer service (un)professional, treated me terribly when I called to inquire as to why my order was canceled when it's still available for purchase on the website. The entire conversation she made it very clear that my calling her was a huge inconvenience to her.
Although I've been a platinum member for quite a while and used the "Platinum service line" for assistance. But, all I got was Carly's pejorative tone, snarky demands and insulting behavior. I refuse to be treated so badly when all I wanted was to know what happened to the order that Torrid promptly took the funds out if my account for.
