I do not write reviews. But this deserved a review! More of a warning for those looking to rent a truck to move. They charge way more than they should and we ended up having 3 charges on our card that were so much. We were waiting on the phone multiple times for 30-45 minutes and did not get anywhere. It's just confusing, unorganized, and sad to see large charges not explained. It is almost worth it to buy your own trailer than rent with U-Haul! I promise I do not complain or leave any bad reviews ever! This is just a heads up for those who are looking to rent from them! Be careful and make sure you write down names & the whole process. I don't want the same thing happening to you!
After seeing prices for boxes on web went to Langley location. After got home looked back at receipt and saw was over charged! They would not match the web price when called back. Said a price increase had happened last month. So did not update web and would not stand behind. No manager to help me and told to call H. 0.? Lesson do not trust anything you read.
We had a tow hitch installed on a light truck last year sometime. Hitch is solid.
Recently I noticed our trailer lights wrong. Apparently we never checked them before. Rewired the whole trailer, still wrong. Finally traced to an incorrect wiring installation when they did the tow hitch. Somehow they flipped the brown with the yellow wires (running lights with left turn signal). They didn't bother to check their work, which is obvious because the wiring connector on the truck has 3 led's on it where you just activate a given light (turn signals / running lights) and the led turns on / blinks. Clearly labeled. Took me 5 seconds to figure it out which led was which, 30 to run back and forth and find it wired incorrectly. Easy fix. Not everyone is handy though or has the proper tools. Make sure you have them show you a successful installation or check their work.
I just finished a complicated move across Pennsylvania that involved picking up a truck in one location, and dropping it off in another, while setting up a storage unit online. The process was intuitive and customer service was excellent!
I just called & talked to Cody at U- Haul on N Lombard, Portland. I extended my rental & paid for 1 more week on their cargo van, ( my truck was stolen & then recovered & this is my transportation until it is fixed.)
Cody seemed to have an attitude. I was polite but he seemed like it was a problem to help me & when I asked him if he was OK, he said he didn t like to extend rental times on his vehicles, 'that s when accidents happen'. -he liked them back on time.
I wonder what they are in business for if not to rent vehicles? Strange.
Then he said 'O k, I've got it extended for you- have a good day- Good Bye. He hung up abruptly.
No reason for his attitude, & a little rude.

I have rented from U Haul many times. Their ecquipment whether a utility trailer, cargo trailer or truck has always been a great experience. From initial check in to final drop off customer experience always A-+++! They are always helpful with accessories or safety check and I appreciate that they always do hookup and release. I have traveled many times from state to state across America and locally. They are TOP NOTCH in my book! Keep up the good work people
Rented from there, drove almost six hundred miles. Fed more baloney than when a recruiter talked me into the Army. Read and get a hard copy of your agreement. Follow the instructions closely! I was told uhaul didn't care who was the driver. Not!
Very bad experience will not ever rent from them again they lied to me about removing a charge that was incorrect but never did was rude when I returned my rental just unbelievable bad do not use this company!
I was sold storage space in U-Haul downtown Miami 1000 NE 10 street as a 5 x 5 x 10 for $74.00/month and it turned out to be an upper locker space measuring more like 4x 4 x 10. Forget climate control, it doesn't exist unless heat qualifies. When opening the locker door you are greeted by a large plastic container mouse trap. The smell is quite alive! Moved out after two weeks to another company which has true climate control and VERY clean storage.
Extremely short-staffed. However, the intake person was slow needed more help, was cranky, and somewhat rude! You sign up for a 6-hour rental, get out an hour later, and still only get 6 hours, you need a speedier check-in process, which I thought I did online, hell to rent a car at the airport take less time, and your fees are out of line in my opinion.
Complete trash. Worst company I have ever been involved with. Don't use. Do not recommend. Spend the extra money and find a different company. Horrible service all around. If I could give a zero star I would because you guys suck!
Worse company ever... We ordered a u-haul for July first. The DAY before our move, they informed us they do not have any trucks left. The call representative told us "you should've come to our store instead of ordering online", when it's literally 2022 and everything is digital now. Like do not offer the option of ordering online if it's not reliable to order online?! We experienced the worse customer service. They are also almost impossible to contact over the phone (they hung up on me a few times). Weird company in general Stay safe folks…
Reserved a u-haul to go from Abingdon Va. To Centreville Va.after going to 3 different U-hauls that morning I finally got a truck in Bristol Tn. They had it being return at Fairlawn Va 3.5 hours away near Radford. After finally getting that straighten out and returning it to Chantilly they then turn around and charge us 300 more for extra miles. Looks like bait and switch tactics to me I'll will never use U-haul again and I suggest you never use them either.
I rented a motorcycle trailer on the 19th of this month for 8 hrs.I returned the trailer in the allotted time the trailer was checked in by a employee and unhooked from my truck.The next morning I received a call saying I hadn't returned the trailer yet I told the woman that I had the day before. Three days later I see that uhaul changed me for 3 days I first called the place spoke to the manager got no where then to customer service still nothing they said they had to look at the video to see if in fact I had returned it when I said I had they never did.The next morning I called customer service again and was then transferred to the manager. She said that they returned my money for days and that was it.i still haven't received a refund or a proper apology if I could have uhaul in albany ny in Broadway a negative 0 I would don't use this place unless you want toget overcharged and ripped of and the manager is very rude and unprofessional.
Honestly don't even know how your service is but I'm not counting on the greatest as iv called more then 5 locations an can't even get a answer so fed up! So fed up that iv wasted more of my time just to tell you about it. Yep! Have a good day
This has been the worst experience that I have ever had with a rental company. Every other day I am being charged for tolls that I already paid for and when I call they tell me that I must call for a refund every time this happens. It is absolutely ridiculous and incompetent on the staff working at U-haul. They offered no recourse and I am completely dissatisfied with the service from beginning to end. I will let everyone that I know-never to rent from U-Haul. They will overcharge you and have no remorse or corrective action for their incompetence.
Store and back office is full of $#*!. They will take your money and bull$#*! your service. It's also crazy how reviews have to be 100 words long, thought it was peoples own experience not you short balling them.it's sad that they have to review your review before posting on their page. Hiding $#*!
I would give zero stars if it would allow. They have overcharged me almost $400 even though I submitted proof of overcharges, but state they have 72 hours to resolve. I guess they are earning plenty of interest on my money, so they are in no hurry to rectify their errors. We used 44.8 miles which we paid for 60 in advance. There should not have been any additional charges. They charged an additional $188.86 twice! Nor have they refunded for the overpayment I made on mileage.
I don't want another family to experience what ours is going through. We rented a van for 1 month at 1100 with 100 miles a day. The company took out tolls individually at $2/3 a piece instead of using an invoice, thus my bank shut off use of my debit card for a fraud alert. The company did nothing to resolve the issue. Final bill was $1750. The cost of a used beater that would have done the job. That's $750. Of hidden fees and taxes. Understanding taxes and tolls, my family is still out of HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS. U-haul is not a transparent company. Reviews on the internet all point to the fact that U-haul is not an upright and honest company. Stay away.

Answer: UHAUL IS CHEATING PEOPLE OUT OF THERE MONEY. OVER CHARGES BY CHEATING YOU. There equipment clearly stated rent me $19.99per day. Not $109. Or $126.61. Per day.
Answer: Scammy. Just try leaving a negative review for uhaul itself (not the little mom n pop pickup/dropouts the big company responsible for the bull)...it's impossible
Answer: From my experience I've noticed uhaul only allows you to review the pickup and dropped location and generally where I am at least, those folks are great and helpful. The huge conglomerate running the show is at fault but there seems to be no way to easily review them specifically. They screwed me too and I wondered the same. Maybe some folks had a positive experience but I believe you are correct. Negative reviews are definitely being screened out. Sorry you had a crappy move too.
Answer: I did a complaint online and then called but with the same result, they couldn't find me in their system. I need to wait 24 to 72 hours for the manager to investigate.
