Got a great price, basically everything they told me that would happen and how it happened was right on. I would have given them a five but when you call it seems they struggle to find the answer, they are very nice but I don't know how to explain it, in any case other than that and the car pick up being one week instead of 2-3 days like I thought they said everything else went great! Do exactly what they tell you to do as quickly as you can and it will be a smooth process.
Bought a car Nov 2. It is now January 25. No license plate. Both temp tags have expired. I cannot drive my $750 a month car without fear of being pulled over and arrested for no legal registration. Customer service has 45 minute hold times, then they transfer and hang up on you. I call daily and nobody can help. A nightmare. Stay away.
I purchased a 2016 Honda Civic from Vroom in Jan 2022. The car came with a 7 day return/refund window, a 90 day/6000 mile dealer warranty & I purchased an extended warranty w/ roadside assistance. I told the salesman that I'm a single mom of a baby and that I work from home so I don't drive a lot. He assured me that this was a very safe vehicle and that a top to bottom inspection of the car would take place before they sent it to me. 4 months later and I've put 1,000 miles on the car, but recently my son and I traveled to visit family, a 200 mile round trip. While driving the interstate highway I heard scraping sounds with every bump on the road. I pulled over to find that a bungee cord had been used to re-attach the metal shield under the cars engine and part of that shield was touching the ground. I did my best to pull the piece of metal up and continued driving but soon heard the noise again. I pulled over for a 2nd time and found the piece of metal on the ground so I put it in the trunk and continued on. Next, the low oil warning light came on the dashboard. I was afraid to push our luck and make a 3rd stop on the busy interstate, luckily a rest area was close by. There, I found oil pouring out under the car. 2 tow trucks, $500, and close to 7 hours stranded with my almost 2 year old son, we finally got home at midnight that Saturday. On Monday morning I had the car towed to a Honda service center which of course roadside assistance didn't fully cover the cost of either. Honda advised that the leak was caused by an improperly fastened cap after the last oil change was done (by Vroom). The warranty company won't cover any costs because there's no mechanical breakdown and Vroom says they won't help either because it's outside of the 7 and 90 day warranty windows. Vrooms gross negligence put my baby and I in danger, racked up near $1,000 in debt and left us without our car because I can't afford to pay Honda right now after everything else. I have called many times, speaking with different people each time but I keep getting the same response: Vroom completely refuses to take any responsibility.
The vehicle was delivered with no temp tag and I have made numerous calls to try to get them to send one. I just keep getting the run around.
Tip for consumers:
Check the reviews on this company before buying. Do not accept vehicle if it does not have a temporary tag.

On 11/09/2021 I purchased a 2017 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid AWD from Vroom for $*******. 50, and it was delivered on 11/16/2021 when I reported their quality issues (which they asked me to sign a confidential agreement for the way they resolve it), however it has been more than 30 days and my title is still not delivered. On 12/17/2021 I got email from Vroom support saying "You will receive your title and registration within 2-6 weeks after the delivery of your vehicle.", I have made multiple attempts asking for reason why their progress is taking long time, including phone call and email inquiry on 12/19/21, as well as another phone call inquiry on 12/28/21 after an email of "Our records indicate that your temporary tag has expired or will be expiring soon" from Vroom, but I have never got a definite answer about when the title is delivered, and on 12/28/21 they told me on the phone that it has become "6-12 weeks" instead of "2-6 weeks", and I never got any email replies for these timeline updates. The title is still NOT delivered to me until today (01/02/2022), and the temporary TX state tag will be expired on 01/10/22. Since this is an infringement of the laws for both CA (15 days to receive title upon purchase) and TX (30 days to receive title upon purchase) state and severe impact on my benefits, I won't mark this post as resolved or remove this post until I got a VALID title for my vehicle, which can be used to successfully register in CA DMV office.

VROOM website says my contract was NOT APPROVED. They then threaten to relist my car if I don't pay.
Tip for consumers:
DON'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still waiting for confirmation that my contract was approved. Their website says it was not approved but they say they want their money or they will relist my car. I have phoned them a minimum of 5 times to ask for an email confirming my contact was approved and they refuse.
I was a first time buyer and I applied for a 2017 Ford Mustang GT. I didnt think I would be approved for it but I still gave it a shot. I WAS APPROVED! Vroom's team called me within an hour once I submitted my application. Once all the papers were signed and they recieved my down payment I was told they would contact me once my car was on the way. The only issue I experienced was they never contacted me to tell me that my car was on the way until the day it was scheduled to arrive. Also, my boyfriend, who was my cosigner, was waiting for his new license in the mail after renewing it online so we didnt have a lisense to submit to Vroom at the moment. But we let them know once we recieved his license we will contact them to submit a photo of it to them. This must have not been added to our file because I got a call from vroom multiple times a day asking for his license. However, despite the slight communication issue, I had a wonderful experience purchasing a car from Vroom and I would recommend it to everyone.
Stay away and save yourself time. These guys have one of the worst customer experience. Lack of transparency and communication.
I had sold a car to Vroom online and it was not a bad experience., then I traded my Mercedes S550 and bought a Tesla Model S from them in Mid-November 2021. The car was delivered very dirty but I didn't mind it as i was excited about my car but I never got a tag, so I called them several times and then i got s temp tag till January when it expired instead of getting my tag i got another temporary tag that expired on February 5 and after several calls I got third temporary tag till March 9th and now my car is in garage as it has no tags. Interestingly when you call them you get someone in Philippines answering your call and for everything they will tell you I don't have the authority for it, Another interesting thing they will do is put you on hold and then disconnect it happened to me over 6 times then I was promised a car rental but it was just a promise when I called back they have no record of it., Finally I am retaining an attorney and asking for my money back and return of the car. I would never do business with them and i would suggest caution for everyone

My son purchased a car and it was delivered In March with a TX temporary tag that expired in May. Calls to Vroom that started in June are being recorded for training purposes is a joke. Management does not know how to review calls. Customer Service people are working from home with no supervision so they having their TV playing in the background an will tell you just about anything to get you off the phone. I have been calling since June wanting to know when the state issued car tag for TN will arrive. After numerous calls and I finally found out last Saturday 8/21, that Funding never completed their paperwork so a Title clerk could apply for the car tag, Sad situation is they told us we could get another Temporary tag if our insurance met the requirements for the state of TX. Car is not being operated in TX so why help them with not getting their job done and pay insurance for a state. Clearly C/S individuals show up for the pay check and management pays them for not doing anything. Sorry, I am old school, do the job get the pay for that job. Now, supposedly the funding team management needs to contact management of the Title team to get a clerk assigned to get the tag in process. It was requested today (8/27) am and I will have to call tomorrow to see if that has happened since the call to them this evening and waiting on hold for an hour I was told the manager had not documented anything yet and that person may possibly be in the office tomorrow. Clearly purchasing from Vroom is a pitiful experience due to the very poor customer service level we have had to endure. Deal with Vroom at you own risk as the BBB gives them an F rating and I can see why.

Don't use this worthless pieces of $#*!, 100 for my car 2012 volt. No thanks, sell it else where save your time and money.
I have received the reimbursement check for battery replacement 7/1/19. The check was for the cost of battery $159.72.
I received shipment of my 2016 Volkswagen Beetle on 4/11/19. On 4/25/19 my battery died and I had to get roadside assistance for a battery jump which cost me $66.00. Roadside assistant recommended that the battery be replaced. I purchased a new battery 4/25/19 for $159.41. All receipts for battery & roadside assistant were emailed to Vroom. I was informed that Vroom will pay for the battery but not the roadside assistant because I didn't use the recommended company. I have not received reimbursement for the battery after many calls & emails.
Please read reviews before considering this dealership. Awful customer service. Thankfully my purchase fell through after they had me livid for days.
Worst buying experience in over 30 years of buying cars. They fail at all levels of the business process. Once they get the check don't ever expect to hear back from them. Was told I would get a call regarding delivery within a time frame, didnt happen. Had to ride them to get date. Date changed four times, with the last one I threaten don't bother if it wasn't delivered. Got car and it had major leaks in the roof. Vroom said they'd pay and take car to dealership to get fixed. First portion fixed but when the dealership did water testing other portions were leaking as well. Vroom wanted to file claim against insurance they provide. Claim denied. Vroom then wanted to buy parts themselves to save over dealer costs. Said parts would come in 4-5 days then be shipped to dealer. Again, time came and went. Had to send emails every hour on the hour until someone responded that guess what? If you guessed parts werent coming, then you guessed correctly. Now its going to be another couple days before the arrive in Texas before they ship to dealership for repairs. Not holding my breath. Were now into 3 weeks the cars been at the dealership. Vroom received the check on 1/9/2020 and Ive only had the car in my possession for 4 days total. Now Ive had to pay my first months payment and still no car. I may get it the car back by the end of February, if I'm lucky. Steer clear as far as possible from this company. As a side note: I have access to corporate information on Dunn & Bradstreet regarding Vroom's financials. Apparently, Vroom isn't very good at paying their bills so they apparently screw everyone over. You've been warned.
My experience with VROOM was positive with some kinks in the road. They offered me a great price on my trade in and I got an excellent price on the vehicle I purchased. When I received the vehicle I noticed some damage to the bumper well hidden by the previous owner. I contacted VROOM, they asked for pictures, I sent and then they asked me to get a quote and send back in 24-48 hours. I did; and they offered to pay it all to the body shop I chose. Because the vehicle will take 2-3 days to repair VROOM is letting me keep the vehicle I am trading while the vehicle I bought gets fixed. Be sure you insure both your vehicles after you take delivery for your own safety.
Overall I am quite pleased. I see a lot of negative reviews and I appreciate where they are coming from. However, one needs to remember they are buying vehicles virtually. My vehicle shipped from Texas. So it isn't like driving on a car lot with one vehicle, signing papers and driving off in a new vehicle a few hours later. VROOM actually has not pressured me for my trade in vehicle at all. They allowed me to drive their vehicle around for days to decide if I liked it (again, be sure you insure it when you get it IN ADDITION to the vehicle you are trading).
My advice to anyone reading my review is if you have patience you will probably like VROOM. I gave them time to get back to me and respond to my inquiries and found they were pleasant and helpful. I'm happy with the transaction I made with VROOM, they sold me an excellent vehicle at a wonderful price, fixed everything on the vehicle I requested after its delivery, allowed me to keep my trade in while they fixed what I requested at the shop of my choosing and didn't pressure me at all. I gave them 4 stars cause five means everything went perfectly, I'd give them 4.5 out of 5 stars.
I purchased a car from Vroom in February of this year. Up until the exchange of money it was a smooth process (surprise). After that delivery was delayed, no updates were given to me, and I had to call for status over and over. Upon delivery, there were several cosmetic items that weren't displayed accurately in the photos. This is where things got bad.
Vroom never notified me I had to get the vehicle smogged and the ViN verified before they could register it, and instead told me to sit back and wait for the permanent plates while driving the car with 30 day temporary tags. As we approached the expiration of the temp tags, they realized there mistake. They told me my entire signed contract had been lost and requested I sign another one, they sent a check to cover the cost of inspection and smog.
Here we are 5 months later, I have exhausted the maximum number of temporary tags, and the vehicle has been undriveable since August 21st due to this. I have spent over 12 hours on the phone with Vroom, no one has ever emailed me or called me, I have always been the one to initiate contact. I contacted the Attorney Generals office, and Vroom replied to them with blatant lies saying I refused to get the car smogged, and that they had been trying to contact me to no avail.
There is no way to reach anyone other than customer service reps that don't have the authority to do anything except take notes on your account. It's too bad because my plan was to purchase several other vehicles after what seemed like an easy experience, glad I waited.
This company doesn't deserve to be in business, and the same negative feedback is circulating all over the place so you know that it has to be mostly truthful.
I tried to purchase one vehicle and was supposed to be called back in10 minutes and nothing. I called the next day to find out why my purchase was cancelled. That's when I met Andre Gardenhire and boy what a smooth talker he was. I found a great car with everything I wanted so he took a credit app and came back minutes later. Well the down was more than I could afford so he made an appt ( doubtful) with the bank for the end of the day and SURPRISE they wouldn't budge. I agreed to original terms and he said he still wanted to call another bank. I said shouldn't I press start purchase and he said no let me do it. He also wouldn't take a deposit. I needed the documents uploaded. Well I don't have a car so getting Ins for no car is hard, I was doing that. Well I'm sure you guessed the rest. Somebody else got the car. Really we had all day and someone got it at the last second. I don't believe him I think there never really was a car and they put it on to suck you in to buy a more expensive car. I also saw the same car advertised on the CARS app. So beware of Andre and the other smooth talkers who pretend they will help get the car you want. You will only be broken-hearted. I hope Andre is proud of HIMSELF. The moral of the story never trust a CAR SALEMAN.

DO NOT BUY FROM VROOM.
On 30 August 2019 I purchased a 2014 Mercedes GL450 from Vroom for $29,070 at 56,935 miles.
It was delivered 16 September 2019.
February 2020 the car overheated, while driving on the highway with my family in the car. It was a terrifying event. I had to get the car towed to a service center.
February 2020: The service center uncovered the coolant reservoir had a significant leak (Cost$902) and rear brakes and rotors were severely worn and they needed to be replaced ($452).
May 2020: I went to get a regular scheduled service, and additionally they discovered the car needed transmission service ($709), new spark plugs ($388) and suggested new tires.
August 2020: I went to get the car looked at again because I continually experienced knocking sounds when going over bumps. They discovered the front suspension had been deteriorating for a significant amount of time due to the sway bar shifting and the left control arm bushings were torn and damaged ($2,000). As well as the rear window washer line leaking in multiple spots ($287).
I still need to get new tires which is an average cost of $1100.
I do not believe the number of repairs and $4,738 in cost is normal for a car for only 14 months of total ownership and about 19,000 miles. When I get the tired replaced it will be roughly $5900.
I do believe that vroom sold me a car that did not undergo a thorough evaluation or inspection. The front passenger side vent is broken and does not move, rear passenger side outdoor handle sticks and is hard to open. Through my experience, vroom did not do a proper quality control review or check on this vehicle, and essentially sold me a damage/defective vehicle which put my family in danger. I find these business practices to be unethical, unlawful and hold vroom liable for these charges.
DO NOT BUY FROM VROOM!
If I could give it less than 1 star I would.
Applied and was approve for a purchase for a 2016 Kia Soul on 3/26/21 and placed my $500 deposit immediately to hold the vehicle. Sent in all requested information within hours of being ask for it. Thought things were finally set on 4/4/21 when loan documents were sent via FedEx. Placed Insurance on vehicle the same day. Delivery was delayed multiple times. Finally received the car on 4/24/21. On 5/23/21 I received notification that my credit had been run again without authorization from the company who had originally approved the loan. Received a call on 5/23/21 stating that the finance company had decided to decline the loan. After much back and fourth and many phone calls I ended up adding my wife as a co buyer. On 6/14/21 I finally received notification that a new lender had approved the loan. 6/19/21 I had to have the front brakes replaced on the vehicle after only having it 2 months and putting about 2,000 miles on it. They would not cover $. 01 of that cost. Guess inspections before sale are not their strong point. Would have failed NYS safety inspection if I had taken. 7/9/21 was when the temp tag expired and was not able to get any more. Still had not received my registration or plates for the vehicle. After multiple calls every day and being transferred to multiple people and being promised a return call, all I got were crickets. Finally managed to get someone on 7/24/21 who was able to do something. I was offered a rental car at no cost till my registration and plate, which are handled by some random 3rd party in Florida got their act together and registered my vehicle. Today 8/17/21 I finally received notification for NYS DMV that the vehicle had been registered. Now to wait and see how long it takes to get them in the mail.
In my honest opinion, I WOULD RUN AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS POSSIBLE!
This was the worst car buying experience I have EVER had.
After purchasing a F-150 on August 6th I had a delivery date of August 17th and after the vehicle didn't arrive I called Vroom and I was told there was an issue with the carrier getting there to pickup my vehicle. So a few days passed and I called back and Vroom had no updates so I started doing some research on my own since I received no call backs like I was promised and I was able to find out who the delivery company that was supposed to be transporting my truck and I was told that on the 15th they attempted to pickup my truck and Vroom wouldn't release it. So after many hours on the phone with Vroom I was told that the vehicle was still going through inspection even though these vehicles that are listed for sale are supposed to be inspected prior before they are listed for sale. So fast forward to August 24th I'm finally contacted by Vroom and they informed me they couldn't deliver this vehicle because the engine the engine had failed and if I wanted to pick out another vehicle I would be contacted within in 72 hours. At this point I know these people can't be trusted and I informed that they just needed to refund my $7500 dollar down payment and their reply was someone will contact you within 72 hours to go over that. This is the shadiest company I've ever encountered. My suggestion to anyone considering Vroom if you cant put your hands on the vehicle don't trust these folks.
My husband traded in our 2015 BMW X4 for a 2017 Tesla Model X from Vroom on November 14,2020. 10 Days prior to delivery we sent our down payment on the vehicle. Vroom picked up our BMW on November 14th and has yet to pay it off. We provided Vroom with a 10 day pay out for our BMW Through Capital One and still haven't sent a check and it's Jan 21st. It's been almost 4 month since they picked up the BMW, And now I'm starting to revive collection calls for a vehicle I no longer have. We have spoken to multiple representatives (Terri, Shawnie, Tragise, Rosalina and Amena but no one is able to complete this transaction. Some don't even provided an extension number to follow up with. Not to mention our temp tags expired and they still haven't processed our listened plates/ registration for our Tesla. We just transferred plates so I don't understand the hold up. I am now unable to drive my new vehicle and took a hit on my credit for a missed payment for the BMW that I haven't owned in 3 months. We have been told these issues will be rushed but nothing has changed.
Can I rate it a zero? Where do I begin? JUST DON"T DO IT! I know, it looks like you can get the car you want at a good price. But oh, that is just the beginning. First, your car has not been inspected. My car arrived with a flat tire. Okay, no big deal; the valve could have been damaged when the car was loaded on the truck. So, I bring it to a tire place. There is no lock lug nut. Oh, there is a place for the lock lug nut - a big obvious place - but nothing there. You couldn't even look in the trunk without seeing it was missing. So, I buy one. Then, as soon as it rains the back windshield wiper comes on. Great! Except that there is no rubber blade. The metal wiper then carves a nice deep arch in the rear window. They fix that, which took 2 weeks and was a real hassle. How do you miss a missing windshield wiper blade in an inspection?! No one even looked at this car. It's not that it's a bad car, but if you think you are getting a inspected car, forget it. But now we get to the best part. I purchased this vehicle on December 19. I received it in December 29. I GOT MY LICENSE PLATE TODAY - JUNE 12! And it was NOT due to COVID-19! Vroom says they work with all states and know how their registrations work. Not in my experience. First, they sent the wrong amount to register the vehicle in my state. Second, they sent the paperwork to the wrong office (in the wrong city) not once, but twice! I am not kidding when I say I spent at least - and I am not making this up - 15-20 hours on the phone with them in what was probably 25-30 phone calls over six months. Astounding. I left messages for the manager to please call. Nothing. Next time I am spending a little more and getting a car I can see from people I can look at and who at least will return a phone call.
A Jeep I wanted was advertised as "available soon at $*******" for 6 weeks. Once available the price jumped to $*******. It had low miles and we liked it so I stupidly went ahead and put a deposit down. That was on May 28th and agreed to trade my current car plus finance the $1700 difference through Vroom.
I received the Fed ex paperwork the following week. It had the wrong city listed on the title and registration paperwork. It was also checked "not for pleasure". So I called and after 3 people and 50 minutes later, was told not to send anything in and to wait for a corrected packet. Two days later I called again asking where the Fed ex packet was. The lady told me it was still being updated but would mail out that night. It was never sent out. I called a few more times and was told it was still being updated. I sent a few emails and also sent an email to their feedback email they mention on this site. No response.
On June 8th I received a notice that since the $1700 I was financing was lower than their minimum, I could not go through their financing. Geez thanks for telling me after the hard hit on my A+ credit.
Finally on June 10th I called and asked about my updated packet and received the same answer as usual. So I told the rep to just cancel the transaction. I was sick of the run around. He blind transferred me to another rep who had no idea why I was calling. She looked at my account and said it was noted each time I called but no one did anything about it. She apologized and stated she could send it through that day and the updated packet would go out the next day. I said I would give it one more try.
One hour later, I received a notice that my deposit would be returned and the Jeep was re-listed.! Which was the best part of this experience. I'm glad it didn't work out. Who knows what else would have been screwed up after I sent my title in. This company seems to be understaffed and the staff they have does not seem to care about the customer.
