They are now in Canada and I recently received a flyer in the mail with an add for DoorDash and saw some commercials on TV so I thought I give them a try. I installed the app on my phone and it took some getting used to as I was used to another food app that is much more user friendly. The first time I tried to order was a bust. I was ready to place the order and it didn't go through as the restaurant was closed but the app had not warned me. The second order was also a bust because I had ordered something that was not available at the particular restaurant where the "dasher" was headed so I was forced to cancel the order because there is no way to communicate with them or to modify orders and it said that the store manager would substitute with the "best fit". The restaurants do not give you an option to make comments on the app like "no ice in drink" like I always do. The second order arrived COLD and was gross. It took me some time to sort out how to get to actually "chat" with customer service about this and had to wait a looooong time to talk to someone. I got a ridiculous small refund for 2 whole meals plus some extras that were all spoiled. Who likes to eat cold sweet potato fries, onion rings, burgers, etc.? I WAS ANGRY but because I had a credit I ordered again. And again,... we received cold, gross food and again,... I only got a partial refund for a ridiculous small amount after spending a LOT of time and effort. I am still emailing with them and get the most ridiculously stupid auto generated emails from them saying that because of my ACCOUNT HISTORY THEY CAN'T GIVE ME A CREDIT. Because I had a credit on my account I ordered again last night and low and behold..., we had a gross meal... - the burgers were under cooked (raw) and we had to throw them out. They were the kind of burgers that you buy in grocery store anyway. What reputable restaurant serves that kind of burgers? I rated the order BAD but don't expect anything from this DoorDash and have learned that I am wasting my time complaining.

Rudeness at its finest
January 17, 2020

We ordered a small pepperoni pizza, a brownie and a 2 liter root beer. The driver got here and informed us that he did not have a soda listed on his order and therefore he would not give us a soda. I then pulled up the order on my phone to prove to him that we ordered and was charged for a two liter root beer. He said that he could not do anything about that and he needed to collect $17.19 for the order. He said that we would have to talk to door dash to refund the order. (That in itself was suspicious because we were paying with cash) I then told him that we ordered through Papa John's. ( Which in honesty I had no idea Papa John's had enlisted Door Dash's service) But once I told him that he again said he had nothing to do with it and I would have to call Murphy for a refund. (I had no idea who Murphy was and again we're paying cash). The driver then rudely states that he is cold and doesn't have time to deal with us and suggests that we give him $15 for the order. Okay so, the 2 liter was $2.99 and the total was $17.19. We never received the freaking 2 liter and we ended up paying towards an item we never received. Due to his rudeness, lack of customer service and not showing the least bit of understanding of the situation, I eventually had to walk off from the conversation and my 17 yo daughter went to get the adjusted amount when she returned to give the adjusted amount she had to almost chase the driver for the change from a $20 (as she puts it she had to pay the $15 because he was walking off). I understand it was cold and snowing but all I wanted to do was find where the error was and rectify the situation but he was extremely out of line. I don't know who dropped the ball on this one but I will be posting this review across any platform that I see fit. I use doordash and papa John's frequently and this experience has definitely left a sour taste. Not to mention it's not the first lackluster experience I've had with doordash. I'm starting to think this is the norm and doordash will hire anyone that's willing to drive for them. If I could give zero stars I would.

This company is judgemental and cruel. I am a single mom struggling to make ends meet, so I wanted to pick up a side hustle to provide for my son. I applied here and other apps(insta cart and Uber eats). They did a background check and denied me a job due to a DUI over three years ago. I explained to them about my background with dignity and honesty. I've struggled with the disease of addiction on and off through my life, but by the grace of God I have almost 3 years clean. I am a productive member of society today, wonderful, smart, resourceful, kind hearted, just all around good person with a lot to give. I am worthy of a job just like anyone else. My past does not define who I am today because I am not my disease. I beat the hardest odds there are to beat. Companies, like Door dash, make it almost impossible for recovering alcoholic/addicts make it in this world today. Many give up since they can't live a normal life due to societies judgment, discrimination, lack of faith, lack of empathy, and lack of heart. I'm ashamed of companies like this that won't give someone a job that has a charge from over 3 years ago! A job delivering food at that! If we can't get jobs even delivering food then they wonder why an addict will give up and just go back to their old ways. The world needs to give them new ways! Some of us just need that little chance from someone to believe in us. I promise you alcoholics/addicts are the most resourceful, smart, hard working, resilient, determined, can make something out of nothing, most charismatic, genuine, real people I have ever met. Thanks Door Dash for being such heartless human beings. You know GOD forgives and I don't need your approval to know my worth. I've gotten jobs at doctor offices, I owned half a business, managed a smoothie king, went to college, was trusted in residents homes to clean, substitute taught daycare, and even Uber eats and insta cart accepted me. You should feel ashamed of yourself for being so judgemental and quick to turn down a valuable worker. It's wrong to treat people with a disease like you are. Just wait until your child or someone you love gets this disease a disease that wants us dead. This is the kinda $#*! thats wrong with the world...being so judgemental and not willing to give a decent human being a chance. God sees ugly and your sober making this choice, denying someone a way to put food on the table. Mark my words, you'll remember this conversation one day when it becomes relevant in your life and maybe then you may have a little more sympathy/ love in your heart to give someone like me a chance. I am a mother, a daughter, a friend, a wonderful employee, a great woman with a lot of strength. It's your loss, have a beautiful day. I'll pray for you

This company has been rude and misleading! Within the last 24 hours I have had 5 representatives disconnect my online chat without even a word to say they were disconnecting. This is the equivalent of having someone hang up the phone on you while your filing a complaint.

The issue is the dash pass. Let me start by saying that the last time I ordered through doordash, I added a second card for payment of THAT order. The app auto-selected that I wanted this card for my dash pass. I intentionally changed that, indicating that I did NOT want to use this card for dash pass. I didn't get much use out of doordash and wasn't sure if I wanted to continue. On the 23rd, the original card on file was processed and declined. Two days after my original card on file was declined, doordash used the second card to process it. Even after I indicated that I did NOT want it used for dash pass. Why give me the choice if you're going to process it anyway?!

It is implied that I have a choice in the matter when I was given the option to indicate that I didn't want it used for dash pass. However, they gave me no choice when they ran the second card. If I hadn't big given the choice in the first place, which made me believe it wouldn't be used, I would have removed the second card immediately. Why not email stating the card was declined and you'll be running the second card? Then I would remember that I forgot to cancel the account and either cancel or update the card! They want to trap you into their service! I now have a $34 nsf fee for the $9.99 dash pass charge. Why would I want to pay a total of $43.99 for one month of doordash?!

AWFUL SERVICE & HORRIBLE COMPANY! Every representative has been rude, even the supervisor I called in and spoke with today. She said she couldn't do anything to help, so I asked her to escalate it to her supervisor- she said she would. When I asked when I'd get a call, she said, "To be honest, I can't escalate this issue so you won't get a call back." I was shocked and disgusted! She just said she'd escalate it! That means she lied by saying that to me and was just trying to get me off the phone. If I'm not getting a call because you can't escalate it, how are you escalating it?! DISGUSTING!
