“Ebay to my rescue!”

Ebay sorted my problem in full and deserve 5 stars as they are fair in the end. Thank Mr Ebay. Please do stop such practices adopted by sellers as that will increase public confidence.

“Ebay did not honor guarantee”

A seller reported a package delivered to my address. We do not have USPS delivery here everything is left at our local office or PO Box when possible. I continued to check the post office for over a week with the postmaster. The package never arrived. I contacted the seller who said it was signed for, but it was never signed for because I am the only one who signs for anything or checks the mail. Ebay closed the case telling me no refund would be sent. There is no way this package was ever delivered, and absolutely no way I signed for it. Ebay is supposed to provide Buyer protection. They do not! I will never use Ebay again.

After paying for my item, the seller hadn't shipped my item 4 days later, when their handling time was 3 days. I contacted the seller and eBay requesting a cancellation of my order and a refund, then went out and bought that item from the store so I could have it in time for Christmas. Another day passes, and I hear nothing from the seller, no cancellation or a response... The seller at this point still has my money and the item i purchased. I call eBay again, and they tell me that since the estimated delivery date is up to 11 business days, I have to wait until AFTER THAT to receive a refund, even though there is NO EVIDENCE OF THE ORDER BEING SHIPPED! WHATTTT?! So, basically a seller can keep your money and your item for that amount of time, if the wish, as long as the estimated delivery date gives them that amount of time, (even if they have no proof of the item being shipped *smfh*)... Thank god for PayPal! I contacted them and explained what happend, and right away, they put a hold on the funds and began processing the refund right away, since the seller never shipped the item... If you have a problem with your sellers, contact PayPal. They have your back if you are getting screwed by eBay sellers #thankyoupaypal

There is no denying eBay is a great platform for selling unwanted clutter and earning yourself some extra money in doing so... However and be warned!

If there is a dispute with regard to your sale on eBay... eBay will always rule in favour of the buyer. Which in turn determines that following your eBay sale. You are exclusively relying on the honesty of the buyer. Do not be fooled by any claim eBay make about offering seller protection. They don't! And unless you can prove without unreasonable doubt the integrity of your listing which is nigh impossible. EBay will always refund the buyer even if the item you sell and especially if you post, is new, boxed, and wrapped. Remember you have to prove what the buyer received through the post was also new, boxed, and wrapped. Simply you can't

I strongly advise you never to sell a high-value item on eBay. If the buyer disputes your sale eBay will side and refund the buyer. No matter how high the value of your item To rub salt further into the wound. You will have to pay the return postage. Only sell what you can afford to lose or won't really miss, however, frustrating this may be in the event of you being scammed. I should add I am aware there are rogue sellers on eBay. They mostly sell counterfeit gear

To re-iterate eBay can be an easy way to de-clutter and earn money. List honestly and always take multiple photos from every angle of the product you are selling. Always obtain and keep postal receipts and advertise the fact you do. It may help detract the scammers but in itself is no prevention you will be scammed or having eBay side against you in a dispute. If you have any doubts about the integrity of a buyer and I understand this can be difficult. Don't post your item. In return, you will almost certainly receive negative feedback and eBay may well take action against you. So what it's better to be safe than sorry!

Before I conclude I should add. If you do have the misfortune of having to deal with eBay customer services. Be prepared for automated replies to your queries, and or receiving emails from eBay without the option of replying to said email.

I hope the above is of help. I am myself an eBay buyer and seller for nearly 15 years, and yes I have been scammed on a few occasions examples being swopping identical scratched CD discs, returning identical scratched LPs, etc etc. Although once I did catch a scammer out. He claimed he posted my item back to me but stupidly left a false tracking number. Which I proved was not a genuine Royal Mail tracking number. EBay grudgingly accepted I was a victim and I did not end up out of pocket

Do I list items of high-value on eBay?... No because despite the temptation my item may be viewed many times thus increasing the chance of receiving more money? I am very aware that the higher the value of an item the higher the chances an item will attract and tempt the scammers.

EBAY FRAUD AND PRICE FIXING. I believe there are a few sellers in China that control the worldwide markets and eBay. They have sales and marketing agreements to inflate and control prices and disclosure/representatiions for ALL PRODUCTS on eBay. These people control everything including Ebays profits, shipping costs, listing fees, protecting sellers (not buyers). Ebay is owned by a few key individuals. The vast majority of the stock is owned by specific people with overseas companies. This is the largest fraud operation I have ever seen. I occasionally run into a honest person that have represented their items for a fair price including shipping. It's virtually impossible. They have millions of items for sale under different linked user names. There are a few people in China, Russia and a few other countries that own Ebay, PayPal, the money processing company in Europe (I do have specific details) and I look forward to receiving your reply. They also control Ebay's MONEY BACK GUARANTEE! There is absolutely no money back guarantee to protect buyers. EBAY HAS NEVER GIVEN ANYONE ON PENNY BACK. Ebay actually makes money on their guarantee. The only way is to catch a seller because they have agreed to my terms and conditions I SENT THEM BEFORE I PLACED MY ORDER. Then, if they say yes, you still have to go through Ebay hoops and wait. Ebay states there is buyer fraud on Ebay. I would like just one documented example. Buyers go through hell to attempt to get their money back. I'm sure it's possible to abuse the system. I want one case? I have now documented over 1000 sellers and items that are fraudulent. I have reported items and sellers. To date I have seen no evidence of the "fraud protection department" doing one thing to stop fraud. I could go one forever. Waiting for a honest reply. Ken

I stumbled upon Twice about six months ago and I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I'm constantly getting rid of clothes so having someplace to send them and actually get money to buy *new* clothes was amazing. I've sent them over half of my wardrobe over the last six months. Their buying and selling practices are extremely inconsistent and it's seriously irked me, now I use ThreadUp instead and rarely sell to Twice.

They are extremely inconsistent about the quality of items they buy. They have rejected items I've sent them due to "overall" wear when the items were NEVER worn or worn once. They had zero "wear." I had a really nice pair of Seven jeans that I sent them and they rejected due to "overall wear." I was seriously dumbfounded. The only thing I can think of is that they had a slight distressed look due to the wash and they mistook this for wear. There was zero staining and zero wear on the hems. Another item I sent in which I was amazed they rejected was a pair of ponte knit grey pants by Alice & Olivia that were in perfect condition, I seriously had worn them once (like many women, I have tons of stuff I have worn once and then seem to never wear again). They rejected them claiming there was a "loose thread" on hem. I had never seen a loose thread, it just strikes me as overly picky.

I don't think their so-called "apparel experts" that evaluate the clothes are experts at all. Since they accepted enough other items in this batch of clothes and I wasn't going to wear these jeans anyway, I accepted their offer, but it really irritated me that they rejected them for a completely unfounded reason. If that isn't bad enough, I have purchased items from them that are in WAY worse condition than any of the items I've sent them that they rejected due to "overall wear." How annoying!

I've noticed lately their inventory and selection seems to be getting worse. I think people are getting really annoyed with their inconsistent buying practices and not sending their clothes to them, much like myself. I understand they want their clothes to be "like new" condition but I think they'd be better off allowing slightly more imperfections and having more selection and not pissing off so many people with their rigid buying practices. ThredUp has a much better business model in that they list things with a "Tiny Flaw." ThredUp definitely has items with visible wear but so what? I will decide if it's too much wear and not purchase it! I'd rather have more selection to browse.

If you haven't heard of ThredUp, I highly recommend checking them out. They beat Twice hands down in both selection, buying practices, and overall customer service. They used to make you pay for returns but now they allow free returns if you choose store credit. That is fine by me! Twice can kick rocks.

Tip for consumers:
Do NOT have any expectations when you send this place clothes. This last batch of shoes I sent in, I'm actually rejecting their offer and paying to have them send them back to me. AND, I'm going to conduct a little experiment and send some of the rejected items back to them in a new shipment and see if they get accepted this time. I think their evaluators are extremely inconsistent and I have a feeling it all depends on who you get to evaluate your items.

I've been an Ebay member for twenty years and have always been satisfied. Then the following two situations happened simultaneously, which have permanently turned me off from ever listing anything for sale again.

I listed two valuable antique saxophones at the same time in July, 2019 and both received winning bids. On Saxophone 1, the buyer never paid. Nothing happened. No apparent effort was made by Ebay to induce the winning bidder to pay. Two months later, an e mail from Ebay that the case I had filed was closed. No resolution, no explanation, no elucidation as to what if anything Ebay had done to right the situation. Then, out of the blue, an e mail informing me that I was being charged a $190 commission on the sale of the instrument!

Saxophone 2. The buyer paid and I shipped the 80 year old sax which was delivered several days later. The buyer then wrote objecting to the condition of the instrument. I had posted clear photos with the listing showing the instrument from all sides, and some of the buyer's objections were downright ludicrous, i. E. a statement that the saxophone was "rusting". (Saxophones are made of brass, a non-ferrous metal and therefore do not rust.) The buyer filed a case to return the sax at my expense and the Ebay examiner sided with the buyer and ordered me to provide a prepaid USPS or UPS shipping label, warning me that if I failed to do so within five days, the purchase price of the instrument would be refunded to the buyer and the buyer would get to keep the instrument! A nice threat, huh? If I complied and provided the shipping label, I would be charged the refund of the purchase price after delivery of the instrument to me. I purchased a shipping label the same day and e mailed its image to the buyer via PDF. Ok, I didn't like the way Ebay handled the case, but my reaction stopped short of outright hatred of this company. Then today, shortly after the return of the sax in acceptable condition, came the final straw, an e mail from Ebay informing me that I owed $2540 for the refund of the instrument, $254 more than the sales price which I was expecting to refund to the buyer. Once again, I was being charged a commission for a sale that ultimately wasn't consummated.

Ebay has shown itself to me to be abusive of its sellers. Never ever will I list anything on it again. As a forum for buyers it's fine and one can't argue with the enormous selection of items. But that may change when sufficient numbers of other sellers have had enough of being chiseled and take their business elsewhere.

The biggest mistake I did in my life is bought a product [laptop - HP Pavillion 15 Touch 4th Gen i5 12GB Ram 1TB Hdd Win 8.1 1.5GB Intel Graphics**************) - Price: Rs. 37,602.00)] from eBay, I will make sure that my family, friends, colleagues etc. will never buy any product from eBay.

EBay simply don't know concept of buying products online, let me know you - first is saving time. I had requested replacement of my product and you USELESS eBay simply emailed me after 7 - 8 DAYs saying I have to dispatch my product to the seller by myself. If I had that much time then why I had used USELESS eBay. And in your email you stat that if I will not dispatch that product within 5 days of receiving your mail you will cancel my replacement request. HELL.

After dispatching faulty laptop I had requested for replacement and guess what, what I got in replacement - a broken laptop.

I had returned the broken laptop to the seller using same way - courier by myself to the seller. And seller confirmed receiving of broken laptop. Now story starts from here - this time I had requested my HARD EARNED MONEY back. I had provided all details - images of broken laptop and receipt of courier but TILL DATE EBAY HAVE NOT RETURNED MY MONEY TO ME.

From 07th September 2015 I am requesting eBay to return my money and called approx 8 - 10 times to their USELESS customer care but still I am struggling with my refund.

Is this a way to do online business?

Hey Guyz Never Shop from eBay, it is selling fake & duplicate products which offers cheap quality.

Recently I bought a 32 GB Memory Card from eBay India I paid online on 16 April because there was no Cash On Delivery available, it was showing expected delivery till 21 April & Last date (Maximum Time) 27 April 2016, On 17 April I got a confirmation message about shipping of product by DTDC courier, when I didn't get product till 23 I tried to contact these people they people again assured me that you will get till 27 april anyhow, I drop mails and kept regular touch with on FB page at https://goo.gl/IAA6YU always they people said we are checking your issue more than 7 days when I didn't get any solution & last date was also passed I contacted them again but they bloody people have just learned a line sorry for inconvenience we are working on your issue, like these kind bull$#*! excuses they have given and finally product came on 3 May 2016 (6 days after the last date), I thought leave it at least I got my product perhaps they might have some confusion or something mess, but as I was already reached on the heights of irritation & frustration from these people, as I opened the packet I found it is looking like Fake product & when I tried to using it, the product was also not working, showing a message need to format this device but system was unable to format this drive, they people have so worst services that you'll need to hold their calls for 30 minutes & after that your call will be disconnected automatically. I have decided to teach them a lesson. I have used other online portals as well like Amazon India, Flipkart, Snapdeal and many more but believe me eBay India is the worst company I have ever found, no support, no customer services, I suggest you all my friends that never shop from eBay, these people are doing fraud with us. To teach them a lesson pla do share this.

Rated OK, but going downhill as long as they have paypal hanging around its neck. I have been a ebay user over 12 years, 100% feedbck rating. Everything was ok untill my last purchase in March. Went through ebay checkout to pay with paypal (have bank account and two cedit cards on file, verified and in good standing) and my payment was declined, tried several times but no luck. Called paypal customer service it did not offer specific help and hard to understand(believed it is outsourced, India?) Next I tried email them, got response pretty fast compared to the time it took to explain the problem to them. I was told they would fix it, tryed to use the checkout process again but was declined. Emailed again, same response or told to call giving me the same number i called before, just a big run around. I went through that several times, before i gave up. Their response was the same thing, it was automated web forms with a different name on it. I had to remove my bank account and my credit cards from paypal to keep them from getting ruined. Made payment for my purchase by good ole American Mother Lovin cashiers check. Now i have no confidence in their payment process or customer support, now will ask sellers if they will accept chashiers check or usps money order to pay for a purchase, if not I won't bid. I thought I might sell items myself, i would hate to be on sellers side that kind of problem. To this day was not told what went wrong or if really really fixed. Now just hanging out in space. I could tell everybody to be very carefull using ebay/paypal, but if you follow the guidelines and a good person you could end up like me.

Ebay should instruct Pitney Bowes Co. To verify correctly the import duties because as I mentioned already this is legal robbery!
I would be very pleased to be refunded the $25.- which Pitney Bowes extracted from my PayPal account.

I did not mention the charge of $40.90 charges by Pitney Bowes Inc. / Ebay to cover the transport costs of the seller in the USA
The cost of the transport from the USA to Thailand were clear $10,95.
In case Ebay will not admit this kind of abuse your place is clearly between the abusing parties!

Import duties over-charged with 127%
Shipping cost over-charged with more than 400%

I consider the extraction of $25.- as theft as it has nothing to do with the by Ebay mentioned obligation to pay import duties to the Government

This article of Change.org is circulating on the Internet and explains clearly the problem!

Ebay's Global Shipping Programs' only use is to illegally gouge and steal money from non-US customers. Any time an American Ebay retailer sells an item to someone outside the USA, some company called Pitney Bowes blindly adds a %15 charge to the item's final value, on top of the sellers shipping and handling fees, for no apparent reason. The buyer has no option to opt out of this bogus service. These unfair and unjust fees are forced on the buyer illegally. It's nothing but a scam and Canadians are tired of being taken advantage of!
It has nothing to do with shipping or handling. We know this because the seller takes the item to a USPS Post Office, the same as they always did. There is no way USPS would know to forward this particular piece of mail to some third party handler, as opposed to any other piece of mail. They simply deliver this item as they do any other item, for the normal rate. As well, this has nothing to do with taxes or duties. Pitney Bowes just blindly adds a fee to any item's final price, regardless of the item's tax eligibility. In many cases, there is NO TAX to be charged on a particular parcel, however this does not seem to make any difference.
Ebay and Paypal. Shame on you for allowing PITNEY BOWES to money-grab your customers. This should be illegal, but unfortunately we will have to sue Ebay, Paypal and Pitney Bowes for fraud in a class-action lawsuit. It is horrendous that a company allows a third party to steal from their customers like this.

STEER CLEAR OF THIS SELLER! HE SOLD ME A MIG WELDER WHICH I PAID FOR ON MONDAY THIS WEEK.
I CONTACTED JUSTTHEJOB85 THE SELLER TO ASK IF MY ITEM HAD BEEN DISPATCHED YET. HE PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT THE PAYMENT WAS PENDING AND SENT ME A PIC OF HIS PC SCREEN. SO I CONTACTED PAYPAL STRAIGHT AWAY, TO BE TOLD THAT ITS NOW THEIR POLICY FOR HIGH VALUE ELECTRICAL GOODS TO HOLD PAYMENT UNTIL BUYER RECIEVES THE ITEM, THEN THEY RELEASE THE FUNDS TO THE SELLER ONCE THE ITEM IS RECIEVED, BUT HE DIDNT LIKE THIS AND CANCELLED MY PURCHASE IMMEDIATELY. HE STATED ITS HIS BUSINESS AND NOT PAYPALS SO IS NOTHING TO DO WITH PAYPAL.
I DISCOVERED HES ALSO USING 2 DIFFERENT NAMES MARC SANDERSON AND MARK ANDERSON BOTH OF WHICH USE DIFFERENT ADDRESSES IN SITTINGBOURNE KENT.
SO HES GOT SOMETHING TO HIDE IT WOULD APPEAR, AND SO I LEFT HIM NEGATIVE FEEDBACK AS INSTRUCTED BY PAYPAL AND EBAY, HE ALSO RECIEVED ANOTHER NEGATIVE FEEDBACK TODAY, SO 2 NEGATIVES IN ONE DAY FOR THIS SELLER ISNT A GOOD SIGN.
HE'S SELLING FAKE/COUNTERFEIT GOODS WHICH IS VERY VERY BAD AND POSSIBLY DOWNRIGHT DANGEROUS IN THIS CASE, AS IT WAS A 180AMP MIG WELDER!

I've been a customer on eBay for years you can find some really good finds on sweet deals! But being a customer on eBay you still have to take heed because it comes with the fabulous sellers and the greedy or plain horrible sellers not all sellers are professional or seem to care about the business they have on eBay all that much if there is an issue certain sellers will not reply or comply. 99% of the time it is the seller's fault from complete laziness narcissism negativity or greed if anyone would know about this eBay team support would from all the cases that are opened to the negative feedback left about sellers to customer complaints. I feel it's not fair to the customers to deal with that sort of headaches when customers who buy from eBay keep getting burned by these negative sellers and eBay itself. Sure you can open a case with eBay over a defective item but eBay can also take sides with the sellers and want you to come out of pocket to return the trash that was sent to you meanwhile sometimes after not only purchasing the item listed that you didn't receive as described and while sometimes paying for shipping and always now extremely high taxes eBay just recently started is 8 to 9 % if that isn't the prime example of greed I don't know what is its not like eBay doesn't make enough already with their fees its probably some rich greedy ignorant CEO who's sitting back just collecting more money. Mind you when items don't arrive you may get a refund for the item but you're not getting the taxes you paid back which makes eBay look even worse I am pulling away from eBay more now and doing my online shopping elsewhere. When I've gotten get bit on eBay I bite back when eBay is no assistance or any help to me I personally will go to the next step pay pal and last but not least straight to my bank If really needed, there you will get the help that's required and is fair. I still feel its unnecessary and ridiculous customers would have to go that far. Sellers should get so many chances and if they continue to fail by being dishonest or unprofessional they should be banned permanently from eBay avoiding these issues. The best advice I can give is if you're going to shop on eBay to always go by the feedback left by other customers because it can save so much time and money spite the ridiculous taxes now smh

Rtr_promotionals sells altered NASCAR diecast car collectibles. Violates copyright, trademark, licensing. One car in particular is listed as 2008 Rookie #96 Logano DLP/HDTV raced at Kansas diecast which is purely fake & absolutely not worth anything. It is simply a J. J. Yeley diecast which had Yeley's name above the door removed & a Joey Logano water-transfer decal placed above. Yes, the seller lists it as a 'custom', but in reality, it is a very cheaply modified diecast and it was not authorized or licensed by Joey Logano, NASCAR, or Checkered Flag Sports. It is also NOT the version DLP car that was raced at Kansas. The #96 car that was raced in Kansas in 2008 (Race #29, September 28,2008) was a DLP/HDTV/NEBRASKA FURNITURE sponsored car. The real car had NEBRASKA FURNITURE on the rear deck & rear quarters (anyone can do a search for 96 logano Kansas 2008 will see 'furniture mart' on the rear quarter). Attached is a communication from the manufacturer of the diecast regarding the authenticity of the diecast. Also attached is a photo of the cheap modification (water-transfer decal) which in reality violates copyright, trademark, licensing.

Tip for consumers:
If you don't mind paying a lot of money for an item that is absolutely worthless in the collector's world, go ahead and buy things from rtr_promotionals.

As a seller or a buyer, you will sometimes end up with problems. And then you can try and use Ebay's automated system, but frankly it usually fails miserably. Calling and talking to customer service is a very long operation, and is hit or miss, and you can spend many hours doing this. On one item I bought I ended up calling a total of six times, and several times I was told one thing by one person, and a completely opposite thing by the next. Good information was rare. The people in the Philippines are much better than they used to be, but it's still common to get a really bad one. You have to be very persistent and find a good person which is getting harder and harder. -
- Also, many items on Ebay are fakes. There are websites that help you figure out if what you are buying is a fake. And Ebay sells dangerous, illegal things. Earlier this week I had them take down an auction for an abortion drug, Mifepristone. Many illegal prescription drugs are for sale, although it varies greatly over time, as they do take some of them down. -
-I just got them to take down about 100 auctions for an antibiotic that's by prescription only, but another one that's even stronger and more dangerous, even after three phone calls, they've not taken down over 50 auctions for it. The FDA confirmed it was illegal.-
-Recently there were F-14 Tomcat military aircraft parts, and other apparently stolen military hardware. After reporting it, it's all still there. Calling the Dept. of Defense it was very hard to get someone to help but they finally looked at it and agreed "It's illegal". You can see the NSN numbers on a lot of these items, and they're not supposed to be sold to the public.- Attempting to report these things to US customs, the FDA, the FTC, FBI cyber crimes, and DHS, has met with utter failure after numerous tries since 2002. Attempting to get legislation through Congress has met with failure.
-Magic the Gathering cards, a one billion dollar a year worldwide industry, many of the cards coming in from China are all fake. I've bought many of them, sent them to PSA and Beckett, all fake. Ebay still allows those sellers to sell. Also, reported dozens of auctions with fake fossils from China, Ebay took them all down, a week later they were all back up again by the same sellers. Rinse, repeat, called them several times, they took them down, they came right back. To this day they're all still there for sale, fake fossils from China. -I'm not an unhappy Ebay user, I'm a seller with a good rating.

I sold over 60 some items to from two eBay to their customers in the past 30 days. I've been paid on three of those items. All the items have reached their destination that has been some that want to refunds it's like every fourth person wants a refund. From my item eBay allows them to get that refund but eBay has not paid me for any of the items except for three out of 62. They won't me to pay it out of my checking account to cover the reimbursements which I have not been paid for yet. Then they told me they've only take 30 cent out of my checking account to cover a fee to refund the person that has my item already and they supposed to send it back to me. So I did well they lied. They took the full amount out of my checking account which caused the overdraft charge. You cannot get an answer from eBay at all for anything. They pass you around about 18 different people and they eventually end up hanging up on you because they can't give you an answer on why your accounts locked so they lock your account and drain you for fees after fees after fees until eventually I guess it's going to be gone. That's what they're trying to do. I think they're in cahoots with the customers because it makes sense for them to. Have a refund issue because they get paid three times for one item and you never get the item back. Or if you do get it back it comes back broken or something's wrong with it. They will not hold their self accountable for anything. They have my money and an account which they will not let me have. So if I refund a person I have to pay for it out of my own checking account when I haven't even been paid for that purchase yet doesn't make sense they're bunch of thieves they're a bunch of liars and thieves and I can't wait for them to go under I think that's what's happening now they know they're fixing to file bankruptcy so they're trying to do everything they can to cook their books. To make it look good so you can try to sell it to somebody else. They're a bunch of scammers and they allow that to happen on their site also. And the customer that you sell to I think they're in on it too. Some of them cuz it's every fourth person I had an issue with. I hope they get what they got coming soon I have proof I'm filing police reports against every single person I sold to and have not been paid for. And also eBay for stealing my items I suggest everybody to do the same thing

Products used:
Didn't use any of them they stole about $3,000 of my money and have not paid it yet. Because they keep saying there's an open cases that I have not refunded people. I try to refund every item that wanted to be refund. But they want to take it out of my personal checking account instead of taking it out of the eBay account which they have set up with the money and the account there. They said that they would take it from my eBay account and they will not touch my personal checking account. Well that's a lie they will take your money from your personal checking and account even if you have not been paid for the item that you ship to the buyer. The seller gets screwed out of everything until they're eventually there has no money and the accounting left anymore because they charge you fee after fee after fee for their mishap
