“Ebay to my rescue!”

Ebay sorted my problem in full and deserve 5 stars as they are fair in the end. Thank Mr Ebay. Please do stop such practices adopted by sellers as that will increase public confidence.

“Ebay did not honor guarantee”

A seller reported a package delivered to my address. We do not have USPS delivery here everything is left at our local office or PO Box when possible. I continued to check the post office for over a week with the postmaster. The package never arrived. I contacted the seller who said it was signed for, but it was never signed for because I am the only one who signs for anything or checks the mail. Ebay closed the case telling me no refund would be sent. There is no way this package was ever delivered, and absolutely no way I signed for it. Ebay is supposed to provide Buyer protection. They do not! I will never use Ebay again.

50% of the time buying on Ebay is smooth and problem free but the rest of the time it is a nightmare. Frequently items are not as described in particular with car and car parts. A friend won a Mazda MX5 and when we went to collect it it was a pile of s**t! Obviously my friend told the seller what to do with their car and was then described when the seller readvertised as a timewaster. Another time I asked for delivery to be made to another address and the package was dumped on my doorstep when I was away - failures by both the seller and the courier! Another seller said that I had not paid and Ebay by default seem to believe the seller rather than trying to establish the facts - this also closed my PayPal account. I only use Ebay if there is no other option!

VERY POOR EXPERIENCE. I sent them a box of clothing for sale along with 2 recent purchases that I wanted to return. The $#*! who opens the box decides to disregard my paperwork slipped RIGHT INSIDE OF THE SAME PACKAGING IT WAS SENT IN, and added these two items to items I was selling. This is all BECAUSE I TRIED TO *****SAVE THEM***** THE RETURN SHIPPING PRICE AND ENCLOSE THESE TWO RETURNS WITH THE OTHER ITEMS I WAS TRYING TO SELL. For my stupid mistake, I'm ashamed. Even more so for them telling me they are not able to do anything. PLEASE. GOING ON EVERY SOCIAL MEDIA SIGHT AND SHARING THIS EXTREMELY NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE.

Ebay doesn't have a good business model to meet the consumers need. Here are the reasons:

Ebay's customer service and resolution center employees are lack of competent, knowledge, analytical skills, professional care, due diligence, and have no clues how to handle/solve problems.

Here is a scenario of an existing problem: when a buyer makes an accusation about a product; logically, that individual needs to have a proof or some types of evidence to support the accusation.

Based on the scenario above, Ebay's model of solving problems between buyers and sellers are as follows:

By not requiring evidence from buyer, ignoring the facts, information, and other relevant details that relates to the accusation, Ebay creates unfair treatment and bias against the seller.

'Doing business with Ebay is unpleasant and costly for seller's business. Given Ebay employees lack of competence, professional care and due diligence, it's very difficult to communicate with and receive fair treatment.

Conclusion:
From the Consumers point of views, we always have better choices in life to choose from. Please seriously stay away from EBAY.

After 20 years, way back when Ebay could hardly go a day without shutting down, and most sellers were your pleasant amateur group, we went through many changes and problems, not the least of which is Ebay's greed, for their piece of the pie, and the tricks and crooked scams many sellers and buyers resort to.
I felt I had pretty much seen it all, and did my best to be careful who I bought from and who I sold to.
I still get buyers who insist they want cheap shipping with no tracking, then claim they did not get the goods, and sellers who never mail the merchandise, use a tracking number that goes nowhere, never used, and lie after lie about shipping problems, banking problems etc to the point after 2 months, nothing is resolved no matter all the promises I got from Ebay customer service and Paypal.
The biggest issue is the automated software which has glitches, claims inaccurate results, and you can't argue with a machine. Some sellers know how to trick the system on Ebay. I finally had to chargeback the amount on my credit card. The last resort. My advice: do use your credit cards as a buyer, and do use tracked shipping as a seller, no exceptions, The big corporations can fight it out, the ones that make most of the profits: Ebay, Paypal, Post Office and Bank Credit cards.

I bought an item from Japan. The item was placed at a pick up station in my country but it didin't specify wich one. The seller told me the item would come to me but of course it didin't. Now the item is back at the seller and he also got my money. Ebay doens't do anything because they protect the seller...

Always ask the seller first how he is gonna send you the item because you will never get your money back when it goes wrong. So dont believe the 'money back guarentee'.

I've been using eBay for several years and have spent several thousand dollars in purchases. All of a sudden they blocked my account so I can't even get on it. I called them and talk to customer service and wish they told me they suspended my account over a $32 bill that is 10 years old and I have never been notified of this nor believe that it's even my bill. They couldn't tell me over the phone what it was for. The lady said it's probably just insertion fees for pictures when I sold things through them. I cannot believe this because they always Bill my PayPal account and took the money out right away as soon as I placed any ads. I haven't sold anything in a long time through eBay and they still won't unblock my account unless I pay them for a bill that I'm not even sure that I owe.

It's kind of funny how they took so long to bring up this bill and still no notification has ever been given for this matter. They'd rather lose me as a customer than admit that they might have made an error and just dismiss the bill that is like I said 10 years old. What a crappy company that can pull something like this on a person and then just expect them to hand over money 10 years later not knowing if it's really owed or not.

Tip for consumers:
As an eBay seller since 2003, I am often asked by new sellers for tips on getting started. eBay is a vast place and can be complicated at times. If you are brand new to eBay, it is best to start slowly, learn the landscape, read the rules, and grow your eBay hobby or business slowly. Here are my top tips for new sellers just getting started on eBay.

It's kind of sad how people always play the blame game and never accept responsibility for their own actions my very first purchase on eBay was horrible a real nightmare however I learn from that one of the most important thing is read the person's reviews if they have a lot of negative ratings the odds are you're going to have a negative experience if you buy from them what's that said 99% of my purchases on eBay have been all positive and even if something came broken or not as described it always turned out to be a positive experience and it's all about learning how to do things the right way the last thing you want to do is contact the seller and send them a nasty message you're going to get nasty results by doing that. I read a review where the user claims they moved, changed their address and their purchase was shipped to the old address. I found this claim to be a little bit suspicious. They never mentioned they change the address on their PayPal account which would be required and if they were using a major credit card instead the credit card company would question why the purchase was being delivered to another address. Anymore it seems people use any excuse necessary to blame others for their own actions.

Tip for consumers:
Just like any site read the seller's before you make a purchase.... a lot of negatives mean you're going to end up with nothing but negative experience!

I have had the misfortune to open an account with EBAY and experience their unethical practices. EBAY use certain loopholes to enable them to steal money from sellers and as there is no governing body for the internet they're able to get away with it

I urge anyone thinking to open an account to go with a more reputable site such as VINTED. One benefit you dont pay postage with them whereas EBAY not only do you pay postage but EBAY take a percentage so they screw you every which way

If you complain to EBAY they find a way to block your account under some false pretence. They should be thoroughly investigated

Ebay has a habit of removing listings for items that have clear pictures and receipts posted, ebay deletes them claiming they are counterfit. When you call it can take days to get a response. They cannot give you a decent answer for removing the items. They will give you adise on what you have to do to keep it from happening and when you do what they tell you to do they will still remove your listings. In one week they removed 26 of my Authentic listings that had receipts posted. Then they tell you if you repost them (ever) your account will be suspended. Ebay has become a very very very bad place to sell your items on. SELLERS BEWARE!

If anyone deserved 0 or even minus rating it is eBay. I was a member for years and I decided to sell some things, mostly digital goods. I got all the positive feedback and one day they just suspended my account out of nothing. I assume competition reported it and I heard they are protecting big sellers and fights small ones. I experienced that on my own skin. So long story short, they asked me to provide tons of documents which I didn't want and then they said I can't sell anymore there, my account will remain suspended because I am a risk. A risk? For whom? I asked for explanations and to tell me what I did wrong and what is going on. They answered that I never did anything wrong but they have to suspend me because I am a risk.

They can suspend you out of nothing, with all positive feedbacks only because bigger sellers decide to report you. Without any proof, without answers, without explanations. Just like that. Incredible, awful, disgusting, and the worst site I have ever visited. Stay away from them, do yourself favor as you don't need that stress in your life. Do not buy and do not sell. I hope they will bankrupt one day. At least, I managed to cancel my auto payment option on Paypal so I haven't paid the fees for the last month.

Ebay use to be a good place to sell before managed payments and requiring sellers social security numbers. They are not employers and have become very greedy.

Tip for consumers:
Ebay has become very greedy. They even took money out of my bank account that was not due to them and I had to get the bank involved to recover the funds.

It is ridiculous to mention collusion between eBay and a reseller in a straightforward manner. Big organizations like eBay rarely fall in such a mistake which drastically impacts their image and trusts with their buyers. However, they do this (perfectly) unintentionally by two aspects: the ignorance and the trap of procedures. The ignorance by weak monitoring to the type of posting and the details where the buyers are victims at the end due to ambiguity and poor posting quality. The second aspect is the trap of procedures that they claim fair procedures for the terms and conditions agreed between the buyer and the seller which is unfair. I did purchase 82 times and faced many problems in contradictions in the posting that I lost my rights in returning the item. Furthermore, the sellers may design the page in a way to hide some terms and conditions that are not easy to read. When you raise a complaint to the resolution center, you get it an endless loop of correspondences with no avail end losing your money. Most probably, it is the time of falling the big organizations that it worth to find better alternatives in a small and mid rage with ultimate customer support and fair transactions.

Well, tried to open a business account with them. 15 minutes after "welcome to ebay", I received an email stating that my account is blocked FOREVER without a chance for an appeal. This is not a marketplace, this is a CHEAP, SMELLY NIGHTCLUB, that reject entrance for no reason because they are "TOO COOL". Guys, you are a bunch of losers, its much better to work at MCdonalds, what s shame is that! I cant even find words to describe how stupid, lame and unprofessional you are, EBAY = $#*!. Without a chance for an appeal. F.U.!

I purchased a TCG card, about 100 bucks. About a week later it was marked as shipped to mailbox, nothing I'm there however. I never looked for something so hard in my life, in and around and even nearby mail trash. I put in request for item, to show that I don't need a refund as long as I get item. Seller told me to look harder, already had, so I asked for refund. Ebay closed the case for no refund, it was somehow my fault that it never got to me. Buyers need to not only pay for the items but make the delivery themselves it seems. Ebay blames the buyers when item has tracking but it never reaches mailbox, closes in favor of seller. I was out 100 bucks, only gained stress and a loss of time trying to resolve.

I read a similar review recently about how someone got an incorrect item but since it was marked "delivered " the case was closed and buyer was left with the loss.

I don't know why this site shows that Ebay has good customer service. They do not, not in the slightest. You can't even get in contact with someone, I tried several times. It was just bots, that keep sending me to."Money Back Gurantee" which doesn't guarantee anything except stress and wasted money in these types of scenarios.

I don't know how I'll he able to confidently purchase from Ebay ever again. Something to consider for anyone that reads this. Ebay won't have your back if you never receive item but tracking says it arrived.

EBay charged me $280 for selling an item that NEVER SOLD! Thats right! They decided that I must have sold it offline (which I never did!) so they automatically deducted $280 from my debit card, via a PayPal account that I had CLOSED, even after I tried explaining to three separate eBay reps that THE ITEM NEVER SOLD! I will never business with eBay again. This is blatant theft. As a business owner myself, if I treated my patients the way eBay is treating me as a customer, i would Have been reported to the medical board & investigated for fraud!
