“Ebay to my rescue!”

Ebay sorted my problem in full and deserve 5 stars as they are fair in the end. Thank Mr Ebay. Please do stop such practices adopted by sellers as that will increase public confidence.

“Ebay did not honor guarantee”

A seller reported a package delivered to my address. We do not have USPS delivery here everything is left at our local office or PO Box when possible. I continued to check the post office for over a week with the postmaster. The package never arrived. I contacted the seller who said it was signed for, but it was never signed for because I am the only one who signs for anything or checks the mail. Ebay closed the case telling me no refund would be sent. There is no way this package was ever delivered, and absolutely no way I signed for it. Ebay is supposed to provide Buyer protection. They do not! I will never use Ebay again.

Ebay support are lies. Did not help me with refund for faked electronics part. Plus they stolen my money when asked to send faked items back to seller. Spend tons of my private time.
Completely nasty guys.

I had heard about this site from a friend who had a great experience selling old clothes; unfortunately, i did not. I would give twice a great review for the shipping process - the printable label and/or pre-addressed envelopes are super easy to use - but that's where it ends! They accepted a fraction of the clothes that I sent to them, with reasons such as "overall wear" for items literally worn once or twice, and "staining" for items that absolutely looked like new. Some of my items (pants especially) had been tailored, which I've since found out they will not take, but that was never mentioned as a reason for rejection. I made the mistake of sending several boxes - dozens and dozens of pieces - before testing it out first, so it would have cost a decent amount to get everything back. I'm still very happy to have cleaned out my closet, but that's about it! I'll also be checking the site to make sure none of my "rejects" end up surfacing somewhere...

Been using EBay for a long time now, good deals on many many things. Great for selling stuff you don't need anymore and it simply reaches the most people who want your stuff. I am not going to get rich from it, but my stuff is sold with out having a flea market in my yard.

I bought a portable power bank phone charger, it stopped working after 2 months but eBay was useless, no help or assistance in trying to get the seller to even reply to me.
My main tip would be not to buy anything expensive or electronic from eBay.

I know some people has have bad experience with ebay. I mean surely I have but i've been dealing with this website for years. Sometimes you just got to pay attention to peoples feedbacks and see how much of a seller they are. Other than that if you have issues you can always report it. I don't like the new feedback way though because not all transactions are positive transactions

I left negative feedback to a seller with whom I had a horrible experience. To my surprise ( maybe) Ebay deleted it! How dishonest is this? Don't trust them; they are accomplices of bad sellers because all they want is the money from the transaction. Don't trust the reviews, either!

I Bought a top on ebay weeks ago. It was a very expensive one from a well known brand. I have other eight tops from the same brand and same size. When I received it I noticed that it was at least two sizes smaller, although the tag indicated the right size. I know what happened: the previous owner washed it the wrong way and it shrank. I asked the seller for a return and he refused. As you know, ebay does not give a damm, as long as they get their money. I tried to give the buyer a bad feedback because, after all, the item was defective and did not correspond to the description. When ebay saw that it was a negative feedback it blocked me from giving it for a week. After a week, I finally was able to give it although the PURCHASE WAS NOT SHOWN ON MY LIST. I made a mention to how ebay handled the case, of course. Well, today I got a threat message form ebay saying that my feedback was an extortion and that I would face penalties if I insisted on this behavior. I will tell you what is extortion: hiding purchases because you know they did not go well; staying always on the seller's side; trying to avoid negative feedbacks at all cost; not a giving a damm to someone that has been a five star customer for the last 15 years. The last definition of extortion will, of course, given by a judge. Wait for me!

Was very excited upon first selling on their platform. Easy, quick & no hassle. Lately, they have started to decline with less and less protection for sellers. I do not know how many times I have had unfair disputes opened with the outcome being very ludicrous. They cannot get policies in order which has resulted in tons of money lost for no reason.

Why I still sell here is only because of the traffic, but have slowly started taking that traffic to my personal website.

Ridiculous! No seller protection from unscrupulous buyers. Will never use the site to buy or sell again.

Though, if you feel like ripping some people off, go ahead and order and claim it's not in good condition. It is fun to make a struggling human being already selling everything they own to pay rent pay shipping to you, then shipping back, but not return all of the product! Order a big lot and only return part of something and keep the rest for free! Yay! Don't worry, Ebay will do NOTHING for the seller.

Me and my friend started selling his unopened birthday present ties on ebay. Some were 300 dollars new and others were rare. The one problem we have ever had was when someone bid 150 for a 150 tie and they won it (of course). But then ebay pulled them off the site because they were selling items illegally. We had to sell it to the second highest bidder at a price of 115. No problems with buying stuff ever though. So buy away, but always do research to see if the product actually exists.

The process Twice uses is fantastic. Request a prepaid label or bag and it comes and you ship off your clothes and it's out if your hands. However, I sent 18 items and they rejected 6 of them, mostly sighting "stained" as the reason for rejection. None of my clothing was stained. They can say whatever they want and you probably won't reject the offer because you have to pay for shipping the clothing back. I received only $64 for 12 premium items, which should definitely have been more if they accepted my not-stained "stained" items. Just don't get your hopes up about the value you get back! I'll be interested to see how much they'll be selling my items for on the site if they only gave me a few dollars for each. Overall: easier than selling at a consignment shop but not sure I would use them again.

Ebay refunded one of our buyers without having our item returned, leaving us with no product or payment. We understand the need to allow for refunds, but not without a return. This is a dangerous situation.

EBay is not what it used to be. I've bought and sold over 50,000 items on eBay so I have a lot of experience with this. The prices you could get both as a buyer and seller were great. Now it seems like you can buy just anything you want cheaper on Amazon. Oh well.

I love this site for slightly used designer clothing! Some items even still have store tags on them! Shipping is free with any $49 purchase or you pay a flat rate of $4.99 per order. Can't beat the very low prices of the beautiful quality clothing on this site! Items range from about $10 and up! They also buy your used clothing! They will send you a postage paid bag to ship your items. Then they'll contact you to let you know how much they'll pay you! You can get paid by check or through PayPal or in store credit... whatever you want. I've purchased many items and LOVED them all! Great customer service also!

E-bay and pay pal allow uninformed buyers to pay without being invoiced or billed for a product they can not possibly pick up or take possession of thus causing days and days of hassle. The pay pal foreign representatives do not always have the language skills to deal with hearing impaired people. Included in my torture was a foreign rep. That could not deal with an apple computer running safari. When told to respond by e-mail they just ignore me. I have had more satisfactory dealings than bad ones.

Ebay is simply a money grab, Has been since it's inception. Encourages and profits greatly from fraudulent practices especially in the selling of illegal counterfeit items and successfully hides behind it's "venue only status" and treats it's sellers with zero respect. Changes it's policies constantly to only advantage itself. Potential buyers and sellers seriously beware and understand the risk you assume on every transaction you engage in. Buyers especially should only fund their payments with major credit cards for the protections they afford against online fraud.

I've purchased a few things on ebay.com and out of all the experiences, have only had 2 bad ones.

Once I bought a computer, which the seller completely lied about the os that was installed, ram, etc. (Finally resolved but I lost $60 in the deal).
Once I ordered a software upgrade and the seller claimed "We're out of what you ordered so we sent you this instead" (Meanwhile they sold 8 more of what they were "out of", while I was getting my dispute resolved)

I now will order from ebay but I set myself a limit, $25. The amount one could easily blow going out to eat or to the movies. That way, if the deal goes south; I just "watched a lousy movie".

I recommend ebay.com because you CAN find some unusual and interesting items there, that you may not be able to find elsewhere.

I haven't sold anything on ebay (though I have taken things to an ebay store where they sold them.) Therefore, I can't comment on the selling aspect of the site.

Use it, but be cautious.

Verified purchase

I place an aloe Vera cream form a seller but I received a sample instead of the product I ordered, I messaged the seller to ask her and she started swearing at me sending me hateful messages. She even accused me of being racist for asking her about the product and she promised to keep sending me hateful messages everyday. Her account name is nordichealth2. She is very rude and treat her customers like trash. She keeps swearing at me as i am typing this review. The worst seller I've ever experience in my life.

I have been buying and selling on eBay for over 20 years. It has been a mostly good experience until now. They have changed the search engine so much that it is nothing like what it used to be. All the categories (dolls, teddy bears, clothing, parts, wholesale) and sub categories (antique, by material, by maker, artist dolls ect... all gone! Why? What is the point of changing something in such a way that makes it harder to browse and search for just what you need. It's frustrating as a buyer, but actually frightening as a seller, to think it will be difficult for buyers to find your items. Especially in an auction setting. This has made me extremely hesitant to even list. I know there are thousands of people, maybe tens of thousands, feeling the same way I do. I can imagine ebay has to be feeling this in their profits, know how many people are negatively affected by these changes. For God sakes ebay! Put it back the way it was!

EBay claims to be all about their customers. But in all reality, they just care for themselves. Terrible place to buy from. Never know what you're actually getting yourself into. If you want a product for cheaper than in-store, go to Amazon.

EBay tells you your protected when purchasing but twice I have lost my money and both times eBay says there is nothing they can do. At least with AliExpress the merchant doesn't get their money until you confirm you have received the goods in working order. Which is why I now buy most things cheaper and safer on that site.
EBay seems to have forgotten about the customer. Well in this day and age that's a bad mistake.

EBay is the old dinosaur of the online shopping experience. You would think they would do like other platforms to keep up with the times and even have their own shipping platform by now. Whether you're buying or selling it has because a disappointment. It's like the wish.com of American companies.

Absolutely love ebay! (especially for my designer vintage finds). I do not mind paying extra just to outbid someone else- not always the best mind set when the item in question is £300+ (I really had to have that D&G Purse though!). Yes, keep up the good work ebay and your community of sellers.

Competitors will pay bidders to submit bad reviews to eliminate competition and restrict new sellers from obtaining a higher selling limit or worse ban from selling. Sellers that sale restricted items on a large scale does not have their items removed when reported, but the little guys will get their listings removed. Beware ebay will issue a refund customers without seller consent whenever they file a complaint even though the terms are clear stated that purchase is not refundable. J
