“Ebay to my rescue!”

Ebay sorted my problem in full and deserve 5 stars as they are fair in the end. Thank Mr Ebay. Please do stop such practices adopted by sellers as that will increase public confidence.

“Ebay did not honor guarantee”

A seller reported a package delivered to my address. We do not have USPS delivery here everything is left at our local office or PO Box when possible. I continued to check the post office for over a week with the postmaster. The package never arrived. I contacted the seller who said it was signed for, but it was never signed for because I am the only one who signs for anything or checks the mail. Ebay closed the case telling me no refund would be sent. There is no way this package was ever delivered, and absolutely no way I signed for it. Ebay is supposed to provide Buyer protection. They do not! I will never use Ebay again.

Unlike Amazon that charges you for the privilege of purchasing, eBay is free, offers free shipping and treats customers with respect.

I have been using eBay for a number of years and only buy items. I'm located in Bermuda and is quite limited to goods, so an online marketplace is my best friend.
I buy from a wide range of sellers from different global locations. Generally, American orders arrive here faster but are usually more expensive goods. Likewise, Chinese goods are cheaper but sometimes a lower quality. Most of my disputes relate to packages not arriving and few arrive months after, which forces me to send a separate paypal transaction to return the refund. This being said, if I was a seller- I have to recognize that there's down-market competition, shipping time is vital for western sellers and not every person will return the items or repay if receive them late.
I find eBay to be fair in their judgments. If you don't provide tracking or verified document from a courier stating the item was delivered- how can eBay decide in favor for the seller.
I find most of the "Scam" of eBay is in their auctions. People make false accounts to raise bids. Some bitter people bid just to avoid a low sale of an item they just bought for more and never buys the item, so the auction is redone. I hate reserve pricing; a buy now price of $1000, a reserve of $900 and the bid starts at $0.99.
EBay has room to improve in other ways too. I'm tired of going in a specific section like "Game consoles" and finding hundreds of listings for case and skins for game devices- these are and should be in "Game Accessories".
Overall, the only issue I have with eBay at the moment is the Global Shipping Program. It maybe worth it to sellers but that program charges additional fees and duties that International countries (like mine) do not accept. Thus, as a buyer- I generally avoid global shipping sellers.

EBAY endorse and back companies selling fake products claiming they are originals
I have dealt happily with eBay for years. Bought many fake Pandora charms. Still sterling silver but reproductions.

The last 2 charms I bought claimed to be original, and both turned out to be plated and of a very poor quality. The colour peeled off then after a couple of months. I sent the sellers an ebay pictures of the charms next to original charms. It was obvious to dear they were fake. I asked the seekers for a refund. One was generated by the seller, and the second seller wouldn't do obviously I reached out to Ebay to honour the refund as they promise. I then get an email from ebay saying they don't like the way I'm behaving in my account and that they think it's time to part ways and then banned me from EBAY. Wow so ebay endorse illegal trade in fake products and throw out clients who expect the original Pandora beads which they claim to be. THIS COMPANY IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY!

Tip for consumers:
PLEASE DON'T BUY "ORIGINALS" ON EBAY

Products used:
Sent back both "Pandora" charms as they weren't only fake but also not real silver

I only list and ship within the USA and have all my selling/shipping preferences for USA buyers only but find bid-wins ending at last minute from International blocked bid buyers. Once it comes to sending an invoice, they cannot pay because of the bid blocking including PayPal Express for USA only. This corruption has been going on for 2-4+ years and I highly suggest to other eBay sellers is to sit and watch your auctions before ending so that you can manually block these abusers from ruining your auctions. Most of mine are in China and Asia countries, Russian Federation and Colombia... Enough is enough while eBay CS Reps lie and do nothing. I recently called eBay, spoke to a male with a heavy Filipino accent explaining along with item numbers, ID buyers, etc and he said it must be an isolated "glitch" because all of my preferences are set correctly and he will create a Support Ticket and send a confirmation # to my email. Seconds later, I received the replied with a Ticket # signed by MEG... Huh? Wasn't Meg Whitman the original CEO back in 1995?

I ADVISE YOU NOT TO PURCHASE FROM THESE CROOKS. I purchased 6 sport watches from 3 Chinese sellers upuppuppu8--acccity2005--xazander and I waited months to get and fought for months to get 1 watch that worked never did. They lied about sending another one and lied claiming they refunded the money back to pay pal the idiots thought I wasn't going to check account no refund. In other words if you want screwed buy from these lying crooked scam artiness' and you ll ends up with nothing but lye's and sending a load of emails for them not to answer.an d screw you they got their money.

I have been a loyal seller and buyer to ebay since 2010 and have a 100% top class feedback, however ebay just played the heavy hand by telling me without proper reason to refund a customer 95 euro! Without respecting my case or the option they themselves say they allow you of a 'No Refund ' which then in turn makes you think whats the point if they dont respect this option, and the fact my description was honest and totally accurate, apparantly they can also take the money from my account if I don't pay up, the complaints chat are robot's who play the same heavy hand and dictate to you to send a return, or else basically pointing a gun at your head, saying it is in your best interest as a seller.
Ebay are not the ones who could go into debt, but customers are.
The item I sold was described perfectly, and should not have been an issue, they had the item for over 7 weeks through the winter months, ( a leather body warmer) I asked the buyer shortly afterward if they recieved the item, the only time they replied was 7 weeks later, looking for a return, and previous to this they asked for deductions, which I gave to them. Like the miticulous ebay seller I was.
Sad ebay has came to this, they were my fave selling site, but they even took money of for items I didn't even sell, just for no reason, buttons are sratigically placed so you hit refund return as you scroll, also other prompts lead u into payment you shouldn't be paying, everything on ebay is now geared for there own profit through corrupt methods.

After 18 years on Ebay I have a rating of 1476 perfect 100% both a buyer and seller.
However, I've learned some hard lessons along the way and run into a few scammers both as a buyer and seller.
In general though, Ebay has gotten much better and providing prompt and accurate help when I phone them.
Fact, I now do much of my buying on Ebay because my experiences with Amazon packing, delivery and defectives has gotten worse. Amazon now ships even delicate electronics in paper thin plastic bags.
As a seller, there are several things I ALWAYS do to avoid problems from buyers:
1. I post ACTUAL PHOTOS of the sale items.
2. If it's a device that has any chance of being defective, I test it BEFORE listing and post proof of testing.
3. I pack EVERYTHING as if a delivery person might end up throwing the package like a football.
As a buyer I' recently encountered a new seller scam:
1. Seller quickly posts tracking number number to make you think your purchase is on the way.
2. When package arrives, you find a very inexpensive free gift but NOT THE ITEM YOU PURCHASed!
3. I reported this fraudulent seller to Ebay and they stopped the sale of the laptop computers.
4. After this incident I reviewed MORE of the seller feedback than I had originally scanned and found comments indicating that this seller had done same thing to other buyers. Thus, I learned a new lesson: READ MORE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK BEFORE BUYING or to use a very old cliche "HASTE MAKES WASTE."

Bought loads from Ebay over the years and never had a hassle. However when trying to sell! It used to be so easy but not now, nothing is where it should be "Reserve Price" for example, it used to be there by default, there is an add feature but when you go there and tick the Reserve Price box and save it it doesn't appear in the listing! Also I moved from UK to Australia years ago, I got my account switched across but my listings wanted me to put UK post code and wouldn't let me change it to Australian one, not to mention the hundreds of attempts to get the listing right with error messages that didn't make it clear what they wanted or gave no option to fix. I sold 6 things online for free via Gumtree while trying to get one listing on Ebay (I cancelled it as it got dark and had enough). Its is an absoloutly terrible tool to use to sell stuff on they make a simple process far too complicated and the fees are well above what the market rate is or should be. I have been double billed in UK pounds and Australian dollars and so sick of speaking to Ebay reps to fix things or to ask them to fix things they told me they had! Hundreds of frustrations when dealing with them or trying to post something to sell its SO SO HARD. So much easier to buy but thats been a while so maybe not. I would certainly NOT recommend Ebay for anyone wanting to sell online try the online classifieds instead.

Terrible crap service if I didn't like to buy things online I would certainly never use it again it sucks...

THIS IS A HORRIBLE WEBSITE. I ordered a waterproof case for my iPhone 6. I got in the pool today and wanted to take a underwater picture. NOPE THE CASE WAS FAULTY AND BROKE MY PHONE WITH WATER. They then told me that in order to get a refund I had to contact the seller. DO THEY HONESTLY THINK A SELLER WOULD WANT TO BUY ME A NEW PHONE? I dont think so. http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-iPhone-6-iphone-6-Plus-Waterproof-Case-Cover-Shockproof-Dirt-Snow-Proof-/*******035?var=&hash=item33a0ce9c1b THAT LINK IS THE CASE DONT BUY IT. ITS FAKE.

I recently made an account, and went and bid on some PS5's. Made several bids figuring one of them might win, if I win more i'll just re-sell them. I then get an email this morning (4/4/2021) saying my account was permanently banned for "suspicious activity". I then logged on and contacted customer service. After the robo-CSR I finally get a human being I think, named Angelica. I explain my situation and she goes and sees what's going on. Comes back a few minutes later sending a wall of text (same as in the email) through several instant messages. I then ask what was the "suspicious activities" in case my account was hacked so I can take steps to secure myself. According to policy she can't discuss the reason, how convenient. I then accused ebay is showing favoritism and admittedly was rude about it, Angelica consequently blocked me (I was rude I deserved the block). The only reason I can fathom why EBAY would snipe my bids by banning me was someone working there used their position to remove a potential bidding rival on PS5's which are a valued commodity right now. After seeing all the bad reviews on another review site, then a terrible 62% here, I am convinced of EBAY's bad reputation. DO NOT BUY FROM EBAY. Amazon is 100% better. Amazon doesn't support sellers who are scamming and/or thieving and they get to your issue if there is a problem right away.

Tip for consumers:
DO NOT USE EBAY, use Amazon instead. Amazon is better in every single way than EBAY.

I enjoy buying on eBay because you can find things you sometimes can't find elsewhere, but they treat their sellers horribly. And they're not that great at customer service, I had a return and the seller didnt' want to honor my wishes because the mdse. Arrived damaged. EBay finally made her honor my wishes and refund me once I returned a broken item to her. I still ended up paying the shipping for the return eve though the mdse. Was damaged.
However, she was the only seller I've had problems with and eBay needs to leave sellers an opportunity to leave feedback for the customer/buyer.
It's gotten easier to find things on Amazon and Etsy than eBay because on both of those sites especially Etsy you can communicate with the seller without Etsy looking over your shoulder.
EBay doesn't allow you to communicate with a seller unless it's strictly through them, and it infuriates me. I once had someone I bought mdse. From and she (seller) also was a painter. I just accidentally discovered it by telling her I was using frames she was selling me for some of my great, great aunt's drawings. So I found out she was a painter, and I wanted to see some pictures of her work. Well eBay would not allow us to exchange emails so I could view some of her work. The seller didn't want to list her work on eBay and so she had no way of shwing me the paintings.
